I've been going here since I've been in Atlanta, about a year and a half. The place is pretty kick back, and the hair cuts are reasonably priced. I said reasonable, not cheap. Four stars given for overall impression, taking into account location, hours, ease of scheduling, and the facility - all of this based against the cost. Of course this is coming from a guy - what the hell do I know!
I've been through two stylists since I've been going here. I prefer to keep going to one stylist if they know what they're doing, and that there is the root of my complaint with The Cutting Room. Which may or may not have to do with the salon. My complaint is turn-over, which seems to be a fairly short amount of time. Apparently people don't last here more than a couple of years at most, from what I have gathered. Which is somewhat understandable given the nature of the business, but it is still annoying to me personally.
I'm used to going to a places that are a bit more stable in who works there, but I guess the nature of this particular business does not allow for that. So, I don't think it's fair that I mark this place down, but I could easily give it 3 stars for this. But I won't. I am kind and generous. Although, I have to admit, I think I will be looking to go elsewhere for my next hair cut. I'm kinda tired of the stylist turn over.
I love this salon. It is located in the highlands and have a great ambiance.
I went in with completely jacked up hair. It had been messed up from the salon that I had gone to for my previous color. Anyway, I saw Louis AND Melissa due to the extreme damage of my hair! Louis colored and cut my hair and Melissa colored and highlighted my hair. I felt as if I found my "home" salon and was very comfortable with telling them exactly what I wanted and felt as if they listened to my needs. They were very personable and attentive with great tips on keeping my colored hair "healthy". I highly recommend this salon.
This place is great! I've been going there for almost 3 years now. I currently see Akilah she always gives me a creative, precise cut. I have curly hair and sometimes she relaxes it and does a razor cut for a different look. All the stylists are wonderful as I have gotten my hair cut by many of them when Akilah wasn't available. They are a friendly, unpretentious salon, check them out!
