Whenever I travel, I'm always in search of something unique to eat that I can't find in Hawaii. It was suggested that I try a crumpet and boy am I glad I did. On my first visit here, I tried had a crumpet with ricotta cheese and boysenberry which was heavenly. On my second visit, I had one with Nutella and butter. Both were incredible, but my favorite was the one with ricotta/boysenberry.

I hear the sandwiches here are amazing too. I'll be back again to try some of the more savory options on the menu. If you're around Pike Place, this is a must stop!

I have probably wanted to visit The Crumpet Shop for about three years. For some reason I've never been able to catch them during business hours. The passing trains finally met on a Sunday afternoon.

Long story short: They took forever to spread butter and jam on a toasted english muffin and even gave a smidge of attitude while doing it. They love to breathe and talk on your food while prepping it. Disgusting.

There were a couple people ahead of me in line and I placed my order after them. The girl working the counter had to make about three items before getting to mine. Apparently she forgot about mine and announced to the group in front of her, which included me, that "if you want to order something, you can do that now....if not I'll just do some cleanup..."

At the very least, I thought she just ran out of crumpets at the counter and was waiting for the next batch. But looking back on it later, it seemed she was eying me specifically as if to passive-aggressively say "why aren't you ordering something and just loitering?"

A few minutes after realizing that she completely forgot my order, I mentioned the word "apricot" to my husband and the girl seemed to remember my order since she blabbered something about how her coworker was supposed to remind her about it (really? Her memory doesn't go three crumpets deep?). My order should have been ready in 2 minutes, right?

No...a couple minutes later a fairly large influx of people came in. I heard her coworker remind her about my order but SHE STARTED TAKING ADDITIONAL ORDERS by saying "I think my brain can handle a couple more". I was psychically communicating with all my might "NO IT CAN'T, OBVIOUSLY".

During this time, she wasn't even preparing my order but making someone ELSE's who had come much later than I did! It was for a family of four and she started off with a jam item (which I thought was mine), but she set it aside while preparing two cream cheese crumpets. I had already waited about 10 minutes for the fucking thing so I walked over and asked if the apricot one was ready.

Apparently, she was fully intending to complete the family's order before even touching mine. She gave some half-assed excuse about burning the first batch, which was a complete lie since we were watching her the entire time. All in all, it took over 15 minutes for a fucking english muffin with butter and jam. Oh yeah, do your cute shtick about being offended when someone calls a crumpet an english muffin. Fact is, an english muffin is much tastier if only for the lack of aloof attitude.

They*seemed* to be nice people but they were really more interested in amusing themselves. As you can tell from my review, their customer service skills sucked. As you can't tell from my review, I was as polite as can be the whole time except for when I was looking really bored from waiting so long. They had enough time to make it up to me.

The worst part occurred during the preparation of the crumpets. She would place them directly at mouth level to put on the spread and talk directly through/over/at them during a conversation. Total infection vector. Gross.

Never again will I lament not being able to catch this place open. Bland, too much jam, overpriced, not worth it.

Uh, it's glorified english muffins with some freezer jam (that you buy at any QFC).  Yes, the crumpets are not EXACTLY like english muffins, but seriously people, if you were blindfolded and did a taste test, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.  Allright, so the ricotta cheese was pretty awesome and I've never been able to find it by myself at that quality, but when you think about how easy it is to do, just do it yourself.  Hmmm...I will say the espresso was pretty good though.  The most awesome thing about this place is that they haven't completely price-gouged you; it's pretty cheap for a crumpet, less than $3 for the most fancy-schmancy of them.

Little-known Bonus:  I'm pretty sure these guys have the cheapest 13oz container of Nutella at Pike Place Market:

Delaurenti's:  $8.99
Chinese grocery: $7.99
Crumpet Shop: $3.99

After reading all the great reviews on YELP, I was determined to make a stop at The Crumpet Shop. I am so happy I did! As soon as I walked in, the place was poppin'!!! The employees are super friendly, and they provided great explanations of what and how to order crumpets.

The best way I could describe a crumpet is that they are similar to an English bagel, but a little thicker.

Crumpets ordered were:
-Maple butter: Traditional, and the best out of the three! Sweet, yet not too overbearing sweet.
-Peanut butter: A little rich and thick.
-Nutella with ricotta cheese: Different, although I liked the concept. I'd probably do without the cheese next time. Nutella = YUM!

Ended up buying crumpets to take back to San Diego with me since they were so good!

Small place and gets very packed! Be patient, and you'll definitely be satisfied!!!

Ok, went twice more... I am definitely a fan of the savory crumpet and not a fan of the sweet ones.  Had a Nutella covered one once and it was so teeth hurtingly sweet I barely finished.  Henry got a honey and butter one and that was also too sweet for me.

Tried an egg, pepper, cheese, cream cheese one and liked that too.

Too much hype leads to disappointment.  I was disappointed.  There's nothing wrong with crumpets but they just taste like glorified English muffins.  I'm sure the novelty of crumpets drives up all of the ratings.  If the shop produced donuts of the same quality, would it get 4.5* overall? I think not.

The prices are reasonable and the people working there are friendly.  A young man (now I'm sounding old calling him that) proudly announced that the store was opened by his father many years ago and they make the crumpets fresh everyday.

In the end unfortunately, the crumpet was just ok.

We walked into this petite shop, and ordered a crumpet. The guy working there made it for us right away, and we hadn't even paid yet . . . but he told us to eat it while it's warm and we can pay later. WOW. Talk about nice!! I was impressed.

The crumpet was so delicious. So fresh. So tasty. And the service was super. It made the experience here that much better.

Awesome fresh made crumpets! Soooo delicious. Sweet or savory... they're all good! Every time I visit Seattle and Pike's Marketplace, I need to stop by the Crumpet Shop. Usually pick up a couple of packs to bring back to SF. Keep 'em frozen, they last longer! The staff is always ultra friendly.

I had no idea what a crumpet was until I ate here (thanks yelpers!). I came back twice and took home a 6 pack. I had the smoked salmon cream cheese + egg crumpet, the pesto + egg crumpet and the boysenberry jam crumpet. Mmm I wish I could've tried more.

The shop is really small so the ordering process is kinda confusing. I think they microwave?? their eggs because I didn't see any burners or pots- hmmm oh well, as long as it tastes good. Their hot chocolate isn't bad either.

"Crumpet! I always wanted to try a crumpet! (Move away from me, you strumpet!)"...may have been what I thought when I saw The Crumpet Shop sign at Pike Place.

Either way, I saw the sign and beelined to this little shop - like a true tourist.

Like much of Pike Place, the crumpet shop is a cute little slice of happiness with its cafe tables and chairs, and enthusiastic employees.

I got the nutella crumpet which was so delicious I wanted nothing more than to eat crumpets for two weeks once I returned home to Chicago! (Thank goodness Whole Foods carries crumpets! But they're just not as good as fresh ones...) Nutella is wonderful on anything, but, Nutella seeping into the pores of a buttery, savory crumpet is outstanding. I think I may have to petition for a Crumpet and Piroshky shop in Chicago. Actually, can I just fly Pike Place out to Chicago? Thank you!

How can I not give it 5 stars? It's got no competition after being around a few generations. The lady preparing my crumpet like a pro gave me a mini history lesson in 2 minutes. Many of their customers used to come to the shop as kids and now bring their own kids. Cue the series of "awwwws." Way too precious.

Crumpets trump English Muffins (hey are they both from the UK?) and let me tell you why. It's spongier and has fun little pores that perfectly hold any topping you throw at it. And isn't it more fun to say? I thought so.

Lunch specials include soup + crumpet for less than 6 bucks. They have a deliciously surprising selection of savory & sweet. I chose the ricotta, almonds and honey which mysteriously disappeared into crumbs before I barely stepped outside the door.

Plus I trust my gut feeling and once I stepped into the warm, cozy place with bustling, smiling crumpet-masters, I bought the last bag of 6 crumpets before I had ever even tasted one. They've been my breakfast all week. =D

This is one of my favorite places in the Market.  Family run with real food.  The crumpets are great but try the all the rest.  The soups are always delicious, the sandwiches are some of the best, the oatmeal is wonderful & the scones are like cake.
Give it a try if you haven't yet.  A real Settle institution, it has been there for 33 years run by the same family all that time.

I officially lost my crumpet virginity on this last trip to Seattle. No guilt, no remorse. Just a delightful warm treat in my mouth.
I had one topped with a pesto-egg scramble, another with Nutella. my companion had a berry topped crumpet. It was much too hard to choose a favorite so I just devoured everything in front of me. Also delicous? The chai. Try it. You'll be happy.
The staff was fantastic. They were having a fun time making crumpets, and it was infectious to the crowd. The mustache on the man at the register warranted five stars all on its own.
My only complaint is about the shop itself. There isn't much sitting room, so you'd best get your crumpets to go.

I know I sound way too American when I say this, "who makes crumpets fresh daily" lest good yummy crumpets, where the basic one is very affordable.  Better than the ones you get at the store, if you happen to be in the area and want to grab a snack for a late breakfast or something after lunch the size and budget hits the spot.

Crumpet and Tea anyone? My very first crumpet was in this cute little shop. LOVED this place. We came here for breakfast and an afternoon snack during our visit to Seattle. Its centrally located right next to Pike Place Market. There is a clear window so you may see how they are made. Seems to have simple ingredients, but man do they come out perfect!!!

So I heard the secret to a good crumpet is to toast them twice. Crispy on the outside, warm and moist on the inside. Deeeeelish!

We had the nutella one, butter with rasberry jam, one with ricotta, honey and almonds on top and even tried one with an egg on top. Nooo I didnt have them all myself :)  They also have fresh juices and lots of different types of topics and sandwhiches for lunch. Also, all you can drink tea!!!

Basically this place has some very sweet and cute staff who work very fast with a constant smile on their faces.

We bought 3-4 packages to take home with us to LA. A pack of 6 was $3.50 and one crumpet with a topinng is between $1.50 and $3 at the most.

Love this crumpet shop!

The Crumpet Shop was the first eatery we ventured at the Pike Place Market to stimulate our appetites. EXCELLENT CHOICE.

I've never had crumpets before, and these were EXCELLENT. They are sooooooo comforting!

Crumpets are like...the child of a biscuit, english muffin, and doughnut...(I'd imagine only a threesome could pop out something THIS orgasmic!). We ordered 3 to share amongst the 4 of us (appetizers to kick off our food-tasting extravaganza here), which all ranged between $3-$4.

Here's my input in order of preference:

1) Maple butter cream cheese + walnuts: Loved loved loveddddddd the contrasting flavors between the sweet maple flavor + the buttery, salty goodness of the crumpet, topped with toasty crunchy walnut pieces. Ahh...so goooood.

2) Salmon cream cheese + cucumbers: Savory, creamy, salmony, delicious! Cucumbers = refreshing!

3) Nutella: Sweet, creamy, and yummy as expected, but not as special as the above.

As for the crumpet itself...thick, soft, delicate, buttery, warm, mmm!

There are also a whole lot of other choices just waiting to be eaten, and you can see the kitchen from one part of the dining area. Really cool to see them make the crumpets nice and fresh right there!

All in all...this has got to be my fav. place we've snacked at in Seattle so far!

Thanks, Crumpet Shop, for being my first =D.

What a treasure!

My friend and I made this our last stop before we headed out of town and I wish we had stopped sooner!

We both had crumpets with honey (affectionately called a "Bunny" by the owner's son, Rob, who rang us up).  I've had crumpets from England before and these were definitely just as good.  Warm, soft, and oh-so-tasty with the butter and honey.  Just the right amount of both.  My friend had a coffee which was refilled for free.  We sat and talked with Rob for about 1/2 hour.  I love family-owned places that make you feel right at home.  The staff was very pleasant, funny, and joked with us from the moment we walked in.  You can also find 1/2 of the band Fresh Espresso working here.

I immediately wished we had also sat here for lunch; Rob's sandwich looked amazing!

I bought a six-pack of crumpets to take home with me and my family was also delighted when they tasted them the next day.  I WILL visit The Crumpet Shop many more times in the future!

I visited this shop twice.  I can honestly say that the staff is warm and friendly, the food is fresh, and the tea selection is great!

The first thing I craved when the plane landed was a crumpet!

My first experience there, I sat in awe while staring through the glass as they made the crumpets.  I had the smoked salmon crumpet with cream cheese....I'm drooling as I'm reminiscing on the creamy texture, and smokiness of the salmon and how it all balances out with the fluffy crumpet :)

second visit I ordered the egg, ham, and cream cheese crumpet.  The ham was sliced thinly, egg was perfect, and the cream cheese just melted in between.

It was perfect for a crisp seattle morning :)

I guess I'll be the one person to give this a less-than-positive review.

If you can go here when it's not busy or when it's really early in the morning? 4 or 5 stars, sure. Delicious crumpets, attentive staff, fast service.

When it's busy, though, which it often is, prepare for a mass of Suck. People will cut in line when you're in the middle of ordering and instead of stopping them, the staff will just take their order first instead and you'll have to wait even longer. I know you can't really blame the shop for the customers, but the other people coming here are pretty terrible, pushy, and impolite.

In addition, because it's busy and the staff is in such a hurry, the staff is constantly tossing around orders--I felt like it was a game of telephone because three people switched spots at the counter and took my order again and again before one person finally finished taking my order at the counter, and then they got it wrong when actually passing it off to the people getting my drinks and food. It's probably not a big deal to most people, but I'm super lactose intolerant, so when I ask for non-dairy milk in my drink or my oats/groats and you just forget it and pour in regular milk, it really sucks for me and isn't very fair to me as a customer.

In addition, one of the staff kept saying "hey miss" to get my attention when I'm obviously a man in my mid-20's. I was pretty pissed off about that and couldn't do more than kind of gape at him incredulously.

It's a nice place to go when it's not busy, but I'd prefer to go to somewhere I can get nice service and the correct order at any time, not just the "right" time.

I thought I'd have to go to England to get a crumpet, but was surprised and delighted to stumble onto this warm and charming place. The staff was friendly and did not mind answering my questions about this light and fluffy delight. I had the groats (equally as yummy and very filling) and crumpet with raspberry jam. So good! I bought a six pack for home.

Be aware the yumminess is made fresh and do not have any preservatives so they do not last long. I put them in the fridge at the hotel and prayed they would make it across the country. So far, so good--I put a few in the freezer and some in the fridge. As a matter of fact, I'm gonna heat one up in a few minutes! :-D

If you are ever in Seattle, please make your way to Pike Place Market and go to the Crumpet Shop. You will NOT be disappointed.

This is my first ever yelp review, and it is most definitely deserved. I walked into The Crumpet Shop for the first time this morning and was blown away by the friendly staff. Being of British heritage, I've had crumpets before, but never with the wide variety of toppings offered here. I tried the Nutella with ricotta cheese, and it  was absolute heaven. The slightly salty and creamy ricotta was absolutely amazing with the sweet, rich Nutella and warm crumpet. I know I will stopping by this place anytime I'm in the Pike Place vicinity.

Yes the crumpet shop in the market was such a wonderful surprise.   Rob was so nice and personable. I ordered the crumpet that had cream cheese, maple butter and topped with walnuts!!!  It was so good I bought a 6pack to take home.

Crumpets are so versatile.   You can topped them with just about anything. I topped one

This is a local favorite. They have the best turkey sandwich in Seattle. But only on selected days, it is not consistent. but worth the trip. Go NOW!!!

This was another shop we had to check out while visiting Seattle recently.  Honestly, I had no idea what crumpets were, so when we saw the sign, we had to go in and checked it out. Here in Orange County, we have a lot of Cupcake shops, but I don't believe we have a crumpet shop, or if it does, I have never heard of it.

The first time we stopped by, they were closing, but the lady was nice enough to explain to us what crumpets were. They also had a huge selections of tea. We swore we'd be back to try crumpets.

So, we came back a couple days later, but we got there too late. They were sold out :(  So, the next day, we were there early.

The shop itself is pretty small, but it's very comfortable. Everyone is very friendly and looks generally happy to be part of the Crumpet Shop family. They took the time to help us figure out what we wanted.

The Mr. had the regular crumpet with butter (I think?) with chai tea and soup of the day. I had mine with Nutella. Again, neither of us ever had crumpets before, so we didn't know what to expect. We gulped those down in less than 5 minutes. I'm not a big tea drinker (with exception of Boba milk tea if you can count that as tea), but I really liked the chai tea.

We will definetely stop by again if we are ever in Seattle.

Holla holla! My good friend Susan H. just visited the shop this past weekend and brought crumpets back for me. She boasted that these were fantastic and that they reminded her of the ones she had as a youth. We both live in Los Angeles, so when she offered to bring me some back on her latest trip to Seattle, I was lets say.... curious with an inch of skepticism.  When she handed me the handsome bag and I saw the neatly packed crumpets neatly aligned in the bag, I was impressed by their uniform shape and size. I brought them home and rested them on our counter while I had dinner with my family.  I shared the story that Susan shared with me and they all were hungry for an after-dinner treat.

I toasted the gentle morsels in the toaster oven and my wife brought out butter, cream cheese, strawberry jam and honey so we could pick our own toppings.  I texted my stepdaughter to come home from her apartment to try and she showed up about an hour after we started. I think she was teased.

So how were they???  Delicious! The texture is spot on and they are great. I don't think I would like them cold since the browning adds that crisp that I love.  Oh... and don't forget to pair these with a good tea of coffee. I'm not one to 'afternoon tea' so coffee was it for me.

The next time you or a visitor is in Seattle please bring these back home to share. They'll be gone in a second.

When you're in Seattle, you have to drink coffee. Unfortunately, this former coffee addict was in for a ride. One hour after arriving, I broke. Where ever that offered java, I went in. After walking by this shop a couple of times, I decided that I needed to give it a try. It didn't help that the word crumpet just plagued me for those days too. I know, susceptible advertising.

The chai soy latte is awesome. Organic? There's a difference? Well, theirs you can definitely taste it. I got it lightly sweetened and the aroma was so delightful.

As for crumpets, I was so flustered. The long list of crumpet toppings blurred my vision. I was all set with my ordering, but then I go down the list and see something else that I want too. AHHH!!! I settled with the honey and butter crumpet. Mmm. It was nicely warmed/toasted (i like mine really toasted), smeared with butter and drizzled with a good helping of honey. Next time I am so going for the almond butter. I go nuts for anything almond.

They have this cool morning happy hour special. Just need to get my arse up and reap the benefits of it. Oh well, still willing to pay regular price for it.  The staff are all super friendly.  I like!  I envy all of you who have easy access to this place...

When I was up in Seattle, I knew I had to visit Pike Place because a lot of the really cool restaurants and cafes are located there.  One in particular, The Crumpet Shop, caught my eye.  I mean, c'mon, the word "crumpet" just sounds so delightful and slightly snooty doesn't it?   I had to try it out!

It's a tiny little shop with enough room to seat 20 people or so.  The workers there are really friendly, have great personalities, and will patiently wait for you to make up your darn mind about what you want.  I am a big fan of savory food so I ordered exclusively from the savory menu as opposed to the sweet menu.  They also have a selection of soup and tea, but I focused primarily on the crumpet menu.  What I like about this place is that they make their crumpets fresh (you can even watch them) so you know you are getting some good stuff.

The crumpets may look tiny, but if you try to finish 2 of them like I did, you will be surprised at how hard it is.  I was really full off my green eggs and ham crumpet, but really tried hard to finish the ham, pesto, and ricotta cheese crumpet.  My partner in crime ordered the English cheese, tomato, and pesto crumpet as well as the ham, cheese, and tomato crumpet.  We were quite satisfied with ourselves when everything was gone, and were even more satisfied that the entire meal cost around $13!  Delicious and cheap!!  4 Stars!

One of the things I miss about working downtown is the Crumpet Shop. It's small quaint and servers up some of the best food in the market. It's not fancy, just simple honest comfort food and some home made fresh bread.

But what really seals the deal for me are the people. No matter how longs it's been they still remember me and make me fell at home. Now that's a place to patronize.

Mmmmmm. My fiancé, friend, and I declared this past Sunday "Pike Place" day, so we started off the day by trying to find a breakfast bite.

My friend's idea of heading to The Crumpet Shop was genius! Why? Because we'd get a taste of breakfast without being too full to keep eating our way through the market.

I ordered an egg and English (cheese) crumpet -- definitely falls in the "savory" category. The staff was friendly, and it turned out just the way I would have wanted it. My friend was shocked to see an open table -- gotta say that it wasn't open for long, since we called dibs to anyone eyeing it. Score!

I also got a cup of coffee, which was from Caffe Appassionato. Also just as good as I remember it.

So, I'd definitely return next time I'm in Seattle, especially if I'm looking for a way to have breakfast and still be able to wander through the market and sample as much as I can sample.

Outstanding crumpets, with a huge menu including breakfast toppings, there's something for everyone's taste.  A family-owned venture, they offer everything you could want in the hot drink department including tea, chai, espresso, coffee, etc.  The lattes are very good.  The seating a little limited for groups, but solos can grab a barstool at the counter and watch people get buzzed over at the Pike Place Barber.

I ding them a little for a slightly confusing setup (Where does the line start?  To whom do I give my order?) and cramped seating, but the overall experience is very charming and worth a visit.

My bf and I came here b/c all the yelpers said it was so good, and since we're only in Seattle for the weekend, hey, you can't waste stomach space on bad food, right?

We got here yesterday around 4:30 PM, which is 30 mins after they shut off the espresso machine and stop cooking. But the guy (owner or his son? not sure) said that we could still order some teas and crumpets.

I got the crumpet with nutella and ricotta, which wasn't too sweet, just perfect. I thought it'd be weird to have cheese with chocolate, but the ricotta has such a light, subtle flavor that it balanced the nutella quite nicely. My bf got the crumpet with honey, which he liked a lot, though I thought it was too sweet. (I'm not a fan of straight-on honey, but in teas and stuff.)

W-O-W. These are the best damn crumpets I've ever had, and the nooks and crannies in these babies put English Muffins into shame.

My friends and I came back here TWICE during our visit because....we just wanted more. The owner's son works there, and he and the whole staff are super friendly and chill. There's a dude on display in the front rolling fresh dough and baking crumpets. Props to him. I see a Bobby Flay throwdown in the works!!!

We tried the following:
- Blackberry/Ricotta - super good. the tart complements the ricotta creaminess
- Strawberry Preserves Ricotta - good, but the preserves too sweet
- Orange Marmalade + Ricotta - good, but preserves too sweet
- Ham & Eggs - excellent, fluffy egg
- Pesto Blended Eggs + Smoked Salmon - soooo yum!!!!!
- Honey Almond Maple - good. my friend got it twice!
- Nutella + Ricotta - good, surprisingly not too sweet

Their iced chai lattes are great, as are their regular lattes. You get unlimited free refills of coffee/tea afterwards. The crumpets are slathered with butter (laced w/ crack??) so probably not the healthiest, but what the hell. I want my own personal crumpet chef now....

Their normal tea with the free refills kind of sucks.  It sits lukewarm on the counter where it stews and comes out far too strong to be good.  Definitely not a fan.

However, the warm crumpets with honey and scones with jam are both excellent.  I am in love with all fresh baked carbs, and these were no exception.

Next time I come, I'll pay an extra $0.50 for fresh-brewed tea with no refills.

What's a crumpet? I liken it to Thomas' English Muffin that isn't as crispy, instead it still has a bunch of holes in it, and is light, fresh and fluffy.

This place puts whatever you want on top of it. I had cream cheese and gooseberry jam. Oh, it was magical. I still crave it and it's been a month since I was there. This was really good food at reasonable prices.

Crumpet Shop - I miss you!

Four stars for the crumpets themselves, none for the location and the staff, minus one for the other patrons.

I know it's a tourist hot-spot, but there's no excuse for people pushing, shoving, jumping the line.  One person even literally pushed my husband out of the way as he was starting to order to place his large group's order instead.   The cashier made no attempt to say "I'm sorry, this man was already ordering" or anything else - she just took the pushy man's large order first.

The seating is very limited.  Very, very limited.  We were in at 10:00 in the morning and they were already out of a number of the jam selections - strawberry was what they had left.

Given all of that, the crumpets are tasty and I would return to get another - just hopefully when there were fewer people.

mmm crumpets. I will never eat one again without thinking about Seattle.

I had a ham and egg one the first day. It was delicious and hot hot hot! It could have used some strong cheese. But I wont complain too much. I had one with peanut butter and honey the next day. I'm not a big fan of organic honey (which they used), because of its texture, but it was DELICIOUS!

The wait was a bit ridiculous, but they do get those babies out fast.
The seating is a little limited, and when my bf asked for peanut butter and blackberry and was given raspberry instead the woman was BEYOND rude because she had to fix it.

I don't know how they make these fantastic crumpets... but they are like crack! I met up with my date here and we had some tea, and I took a six pack of crumpets home. So tonight, I put a crumpet in the toaster put some thin slices of cheese and salami on it, topped with some roasted veggies... and OH HOLY MOTHER of PEARL. That's some good eating.

Now it's nearly 10:15 PM, and I toasted another. This time I am having some tea, and put a little butter and strawberry jam. PERFECTION again! I am going to have to make the Crumpet Shop a stop every time I go to the market. I can't wait to toast my next crumpet and let out a moan of ecstasy.

Great service, friendly staff.

I think perhaps the food might be *just a tad* bit overrated, but admittedly, I've only been there once (so far!) so there may be other goodies on the menu I haven't tried yet.  Either way, it's a nice place to stop and take a time-out from the hustle and bustle of the Pike Place Market and get a quick bite to eat before heading into the crowds!

These crumpets are definitely better and fresher than anything I'd ever been able to buy at home in Northern Nevada (in Reno, we can get them at Trader Joes or Cost Plus World Market, etc., but they're definitely not as fresh as The Crumpet Shop's).

I had a crumpet with ham, egg and cream cheese. I'd give it a 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars (me and my half-star ratings ;P) -- only because I believe the egg was microwaved.  I don't mind microwaved eggs at all (I nuke eggs often myself [although my fiance thinks this is disgusting LOL]), but to be honest, I think the place would impress more people if they cooked the eggs to order on a griddle. IF they even HAVE a griddle. (I suspect maybe they are not considered a "full" restaurant because they don't seem to have any open flames or griddles to cook, so if this is the case, then I understand the microwave cooking!)

Next time I will try the -- what was it -- Vermont crumpet?  It had maple butter, cream cheese and pecans.  Yum!!  I also really wanted to just try something simple, like one with just butter and honey, but my stomach demanded something with more substance and protein, so ham 'n eggs was the winner.

I also had a latte (should've had tea) which was so-so -- and that's only because I don't usually care much for lattes (wanted a mocha, but they were out of cocoa).

This place does seem to sell out quickly, and I believe they shut the shop down as soon as they are out of supplies.

All in all, I enjoyed the place and will be going back for more next time!

So there are 2 entrances to get into the store.  Either off of First street or up the stairs from Pike Street.

This is a different place for breakfast since not many places I know make crumpets fresh.  But they put a different sin on it.

During our own "Taste of Seattle," we made sure to drop by here during our visit.

I had a crumpet with salmon, cream cheese, egg.  This was delicious.  The cream cheese spread was mixed with the salmon which was then spread over the crumpet with the egg on top.  Simple as it may sound, it was...unexplainable.  M y girlfiend got the crumpet with the almonds and honey...and I think there was something else...Havarti cheese?  Or was it the same cheese you use for tiramisu..mascapone.

Here's was delicious as well.  I just wish my stomach was larger so I can try more.

They also offer alarger variety of crumpets and coffee.  Make sure you stop by here for a quick brunch snack.  You can even sit by the window in the Front area and wacth as they maek the crumpets.
