Everyone love a good Crepe and how you create it is just half the pleasure, as at the Crepe House all the ingredients are fresh and truly the flavors come out wanting you to eat more. I also like how the employees and owners are there on hand making sure your experience is a good one. I even like the lunch crepe as a omelet which they do so well, and the sun dried tomato's with the chicken and pesto sauce are really great together.
Thanks so much, and look forward to having breakfast and or lunch again soon! -

Had the chicken pesto. I am just getting over my penchant for sweet crepes and starting to order savory ones. The crepe was more pancakey and pita bread like in thickness than I'd expected (especially after eating at Crepevine the week before), but it was still good. The quartered potatoes served with it are deliciously crispy and perfectly cooked on the inside. It's quite nice with the crepe and a bite of the mixed green salad.
As for ambiance, seems like a quaint study place, given there are plenty of outlets available for laptops and such. There are lovely windows looking out at Polk Street for people watching. Serve yourself with drinks and takeout boxes. -

My second visit (salda was good but it's chiken pesto crepe that's really good!). There will be more.
A free wifi and good beer a big plus too. -

Saturday morning brunch on Polk... Went with a breakfast crepe... Side of potatoes was great, crepe would have been better if they had made it correctly.
Not too crowded, found street parking fairly easily. They also had this cute outside seating patio! -

Came here one weekend for lunch. We both ordered crepes, and I'd rate them as so-so at best. They were less "fresh" and healthy-tasting than your typical crepes. There was no aspect that stood out as particularly bad - they just seemed a bit bland and very greasy.
It's a casual place, no real ambiance. Overall it was a less-than-average experience. I won't come again because I can find savory crepes more to my liking nearby. -

I went here with my boyfriend last weekend. We chose this place because it was a rainy day and it was one of the only brunch places that didn't have a wait list.
We walked in and had our choice of tables. We had to order at the counter which seemed a bit casual, but was cheaper in the end as we didn't need to tip. I ordered the Mediterranean crepe. It tasted more like a Mexican crepe, as it was stuffed with guacamole instead of avocado, like it said on the menu. The cheese was barely melted and it was luke warm instead of hot like I expected it to be. The crepe was very thick and slightly pancakey. It was delicious, but not what I was expecting from a crepe. It tasted more like a quesadilla with cheese, olive, and guac. My boyfriend ordered the chicken pesto crepe which I thought was better than mine but pretty standard. This is a no frills kinda place for good, filling, cheap food! -

I was enjoying my breakfast until I bit down hard on a LARGE shard of plastic. I took the piece of plastic to the front and told them I'd found it in my food. The woman looked at me with a, "So what?" look so I said, "I wanted to let you know since I could have been seriously injured and I want to make sure this doesn't happen to other customers." I expected some sort of an apology and, best case scenario, an offer of a refund of my meal - but the woman working there simply said, "Ok, thanks..." and walked away. I hope this isn't always their attitude when it comes to food safety, but I don't want to risk finding out.

Aunt treated bf and I here after church..
Portions were huge, food were yummy and the price is very reasonable!
Only prob is theres too much people there so it took us quiet a while to get a seat. (I guess a lot of people dining should be a good sign but I was hella hungry! lol)
Yum~ -

I can't think of many other restaurants I would rather be at on a lazy weekend morning. The menu is complete with sweet and savory crepes, sandwiches and omelettes, so you have plenty of options. Given its location, Crepe House could also charge a "Marina" premium and skimp on the portions, but they do just the opposite here. You'll certainly eat your fill and do it for under ten bucks. They open up the side of the restaurant facing Polk on nice days so you can sit inside and still take in Polk street and the weather. I can recommend specifically the New Orleans crepe and the Atlantic Omelette, though I doubt anything on the menu is less than superb

It's lunchtime at work and the Polk street restaurants is my buffet.
While contemplating what I should wolf down my stomach today, my coworker refereed me to check out Crepe House. My original choice would have been a fatty sammich from Miller's but because he insisted it would fill me up, why not.
Chicken Pesto Crepe - [http://s3-media3.ak.ye...]
For about $10, you get a chicken, cheese, and pesto filled crepe with a small side salad and some tatters. The crepe was very light and fluffy but in all honestly, it was pretty bland. Likewise with the side salad and the potatoes. A little pepper and Tabasco could really live it up!
I can see this being an ideal "healthier" choice but for $10, I would definitely prefer something on the heavier side. -

There's no more to describe a Crepe House then - ehhh. It's just okay. It's not fantastic but it's not bad either.
I came here for brunch one morning after looking at all the people shivering in the rain outside of Toast and deciding I did NOT want to be one of them.
So i took my bundled butt half the block down to Crepe House which was pretty much empty. I got the nutella banana and strawberry crepe while my friend got the Mediterranean crepe with potatoes. The staff was really friendly and attentive, which was really welcoming.
We sat by the window and watched the people walking through the drizzle. The food came out pretty quickly and it was okay. My crepe may have been a little too sweet for breakfast but it was still tasty. The Mediterranean crepe was much much better and with the peppered potatoes it was all pretty good.
We got out of there pretty quickly and decided to face the rain again. Overall the experience was okay. I'm not sure I'll be coming back. -

The Crepe House is great! The location is solid, there is always a friendly Middle Eastern chick who takes your order, and the line goes pretty quick. Since I am nice, I will share with you yelpers my secret here...
Usually on a Saturday around 2pm, a typical local time to eat brunch, I stop by The Crepe House with my friends. Only my friend and I are in a dilemma where we want eggs and chicken pesto. We aren't going to eat two, so he orders the Breakfast Crepe with cheddar, spinach, cottage cheese and onion. I order the Pesto Crepe with cheddar, tomato, spinach, pine nuts, feta, pesto, avocado and add chicken. He gives me his half of the crepe and I give him my half. It's pretty big, so you will get full since it comes with mixed greens and potatoes. It comes out to be $8-$9 for each crepe. Then you finish it with a crumb cake, trust me, you'll thank me later for this brilliant idea. -

In my opinion crepes are pretty hit or miss. This one was a hit!
I just happened to walk in to this place really not expecting much. We were all hopping around different bars in the area and this place was a quick bite that would do the trick.
However, as I took my first bite, I realized it was much more than that.
I didn't try any of the sweet crepes, but I will say that this place has savory down. I had the Torino and added in some ham (which they were more than happy to do for me).
I don't live in the area, but the next time I am around, I will definitely be popping in for another "quick bite". -

My friend and I went here on a freezing cold SF night for tea and conversation. I also decided to order a salad because I was super hungry. I got the Warm Chicken Salad, which had Chicken breast, romaine hearts, roma tomatoes, scallions, red bell peppers, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh basil-cilantro-mint with a
sun-dried tomato vinaigrette dressing. It was H U G E. Seriously, if my all caps and special spacing of the word "huge" didn't convince you, then I'm not sure what will. Both my friend and I were shocked, because it was as if a mini garden had rapidly bloomed at our table. I didn't think I would possibly be able to finish it, and envisioned myself having more of this salad for lunch the next day....but does salad keep? Probably not. Sad to admit, but I managed to finish it.....I guess my stomach can fit a lot of salad. My friend didn't hesitate to make fun of my chowing down skills, but hey it happened, and I don't regret it. However I didn't really like the chicken in it, so if I order it again I'll request the Warm Chicken Salad without the Chicken. The dressing was also really tasty, but for health sake, I'll ask them for it on the side next time.
I really like that this place is right in my hood on Polk st, and that it's warm for those cold nights that you just want some tea. It's also nice to sit at a window spot and watch the passers-by....you might just randomly see people you don't want to see...but that's the whole SF small world thing right? The inside of this spot isn't too appealing, but I guess it doesn't need to be. For what it provides, it's good enough! -

ahh it's a shame because the staff here is really nice, unfortunately the food fails to impress.
The menu reads pretty well, and watching waitstaff cruise by with huge plates of food convinced me it was worth a shot, but not surprisingly portion size and quality aren't positively correlated.
the crepes don't taste like much, even stuffed with ham, egg, cheese and bell peppers as was mine(breakfast crepe); The crepe itself was dry and and a bit crispy, and the cheese must have eother been bagged-shredded or presliced; it had no flavor. It all just seemed like I was eating a big pile of nothing. My dining counterparts concurred.
Also, the seating system makes little sense, but I don't feel like trying to explain that now.
Like I said, the staff was super nice an the rosemary-scented home fries were pretty good, but there is no excuse for eating bland food like this in SF. -

The Crepe House is one of my favorite little Polk street cafes. Before I moved to San Francisco I would visit often, and every time I had to stop in at The Crepe House. I usually stick with the same thing: the salsa crepe. It's SO good. Tons of avocado, delicious homemade salsa, gooey cheese... I really never get tired of it. All meals come with homefries and a delicious little side salad which really just consists of mixed greens and a delicious dressing. Recently I tried the vegetarian sandwich which was also quite satisfying. They really don't skimp on the avocado which is nice.
Come here on a nice day and you can guarantee their wall of windows will be wide open making the inside airflow very pleasant. It feels like you're eating outside. And if you want to eat outside, you can! There's a ton of outdoor seating here (probably one of the biggest outdoor seating areas on Polk). -

A reliable old favorite on Polk Street. Great value and often surprising just how good it is. The staff has gotten more friendly lately (countering a trend of surly service in this city) and I never leave regretting I went there.
One warning - this place has the stickiest maple syrup of all time. If you get any on your hands, you will need to be hosed down. -

Good crepes; good breakfast items, but the salads/sandwiches are sort of hit or miss. I come here pretty regularly for lunch, and have tried most of the menu - stick with the crepes or breakfast options, and you won't be disappointed.
Some of my preferred crepes: the original, the torino, breakfast, hawaiian, eggplant, and new orleans. All solid. -

I was really irritated at the fact that the crepevine on Fillmore was replaced by a Mehfil (we have enough indian food places in the neighborhood already).. so glad to discover a new and equally awesome crepe place near by apartment!
They have awesome veggie crepes which come with large helpings of home fries and salad.. not very healthy, tastes oh so good!
Pretty nice ambience in the restaurant.. they have a couple of tables on the pavement as well! -

Good food, amazing chai lattes, and plenty of outlets to satisfy my workaholic self. I'll definitely be back here the next time I'm in search of a cute wi-fi cafe.

I really like this place in that its a great place to go to relax on off hours w/ a newspaper, wi-fi, and reasonably priced for big portions. On a nice day, you can't beat the outdoor seating. The omelettes are huge, breakfast potatoes good and priced fr around $8-$10 compared to $12-$15 everywhere else down the block. As for the crepes, I always order the vegetarian pesto w/ avacado n xtra pine nuts but add chicken to it. The regular pesto chicken crepe is a bit bland. Love the mixed greens.

Such a cute little cafe serving up some awesome crepes! I love the open patio, on a rare sunny SF day it's a perfect place to grab lunch with a friend. The interior has a "woodsy-cabin" feel to it, very spacious and clean.
I got the Eggplant crepe (vegetarian) sundried tomatoes, eggplant, cheddar cheese- very delicious! Every crepe is about $7-9 comes with a fresh side salad and some potatoes - a good hearty meal for the price.
Service was pleasant! I can't wait to come back and try their sweet crepes! -

The Crepe House is one of my favorite
Neighborhood brunch spots. I generally get the chicken pesto crepe and its always been consistently good. It comes with home fries and a light salad (great dressing).
It's a hearty meal so I'd recommend coming when you have a big appetite. Another sign of good service is when the same managers and servers have been there for years. Highly recommend it if you make it out to Russian Hill, lots of street parking. -
Review from Ed U.
Why, it's a tale of two creperies. It's the best of crepes, it's the worst of crepes. It was the age of nutella, it was the age of banana slices, it was the epoch of powdered sugar, it was the epoch of vanilla ice cream. Yes, Dickens' original version of "A Tale of Two Cities" had nothing to do with the French Revolution. It was really about the war between Crepes-a-Go-Go and the Crepe House on Polk Street. I read it on Wikipedia, I swear. OK, it's only a war in my imagination since Jamie W. and I seem to face this conflict if we end up still hungry after downing a Reuben at Miller's East Coast Deli. Of course, if we're still hungry after anything at Miller's, we have a bigger problem than crepes.
Anyway, we tried the more upscale Crepe House on a recent evening, and I have to admit I'm not as fond of it as the other place. Maybe it's the raggedy world map and the one solitary guy at Crepes-a-Go-Go that makes me favor that one more, or maybe it's because it's a dollar cheaper for getting basically the same thing. We shared a $6.50 Banana Foster Crepe, which was decent enough with banana slices, nutella, walnuts, brown sugar and cinnamon folded into a crepe and accompanied by two small scoops of French vanilla ice cream (see photo). It was maddeningly sweet to the point where we just couldn't finish it all up. But the decor is a lot more cozy with a lot more tables and even a parklet for the laptopper crowd.
FOOD - 3 stars...appears well-made but tastes awfully sweet
AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...definitely cozier and roomier than its rival
SERVICE - 3 stars...barely there
TOTAL - 3 stars...I heard it through the crepevine -

My lovely Crepe House! How I love sitting outside under a blue sky - sipping a Mimosa while I talk with a friend or just people watch behind my shades. Then comes the Greek Omelette, so delicious till the last bite. I'm gunna miss ya for a while but I will be back ;)

I was waiting for my hubby to get off work one warm afternoon and was trying to kill time.
I yelped the area and found this Crepe place.
When I think of Crepes, I think of crispy, sweet crepes with fresh fruit, nutella and ice cream/whipped cream. So I ordered strawberry nutella with whipped cream to go. The place is large and had the open space with outdoor seating, a plus. I was tempted to sit and enjoy the seating but my meter is running out, a minus.
The crepe price I thought was expensive for what I got.
The crepe is soggy, not crispy..maybe made a bit too thick. strawberries were mushy.
their food didn't give me the good feeling that crepes usually give. -

I can't believe I haven't written a review before. I've been going to Crepe House for at least 17 years. And while I've had the crepes, and they are great, we hardly ever order them.
Most remarkably, the truly have the best big bowl salads in the city (the best in the area is always Cafe Intermezzo in Berkeley). The Grecian Chicken is the star, but we also often get the Cobb.
Our favourite sandwich is the grilled eggplant (you can add some chicken breast for another $2).
As far as crepes, you can't really go wrong. This place does a DEADLY busy weekend brunch, but if you do a late brunch 2p+ it's practically empty. -

I'm liking all the cheap lunch eats in Nob Hill. Yelping my options in the area brought up The Crepe House (which has 2 other locations.) TCH reminds me of Crepevine or Squat & Gobble with their colorful chalkboard menu & decor; their food is even prepared similarly. Breakfast staples like crepes, omlettes & bagels are available all day.
The ladies in my familia & I all opted for savory crepes. I ordered one called 'Miami Heat' which was smoky & spicy. Filling the soft, fluffy crepe was avocado, scallions, cheddar, chicken breast & hot sauce. I liked that there was only a sprinkling of cheese but generous amounts of avocado. Served with potatoes & salad (both of which were pretty plain), it's a meal that'll get you through the day for a mere $8.95. -

This is the second time that I have been to The Crepe House. Both experiences were great.
We couldn't decide on something for breakfast so David suggested The Crepe House. This time I ordered the breakfast crepe. It comes with cheddar, ham, egg, onion & green pepper. It also came with home fries and a salad. A lot of food for breakfast for me but I was able to eat most of it....couldn't let it go to waste. For $7.95, I think it is a great deal. -

Came here on a recent balmy day in San Francisco. Great "nice weather" place as they keep their windows open AND /or you can eat at one of their sidewalk tables.
Their crepes are pretty tasty. Gives you a fair amount of food for a little less than $10. The savory choices comes with roasted pan fried potatoes and some baby greens (lightly dressed salad).
Great homey place to hang out and people watch too. -

Bad Points: None
Good Points:
- Best Crepes I ever had in the US! Especially the Chicken Pesto Crepe and the Nutella Crepe! I recommend both!
- Amazing pavement area with a microclimate. When it is sunny, it is always 10 degrees warmer there than anywhere else in the city.
- Owners and waiters are really nice and friendly.
- Wifi Access
- Authentic and casual, perfect for Weekend Brunches -

Anything tastes good in a crepe!
This is proved by the vast selection of crepes at The Crepe House. I was seriously overwhelmed. Do I want breakfast? Mexican? Mediterranean? Italian? French? Dessert? All of these are obtainable in crepe form at the crepe house!
Worried that your crepe will be delicate and not too filling? Think again! These crepes are huge! Stuffed so full of stuff you'll have two meals. Plus it comes with potatoes and salad. The ingredients are plentiful but not really the best quality and applied quite heavy handedly.
Overall I found it good, but nothing overly special. Worth eating here if you are craving a lot of crepe goodness though! -

Cute. I recommend the Hawaiian and the SBK (Strawberry Banana Kiwi) with ice cream (no additional charge)!

Crepes and sandwiches are their specialty, but you won't be disappointed with their parfait. Impressed with the quantity and diversity of fruit (applies, kiwis, strawberries, bananas), sitting on just the right amount of granola and yogurt.
Not a steal at $6, but they aren't stealing from you either.1 Previous Review: Show all »

SAY YOU LOVE CREPE!
This place is truely amazing. Coffee shop feel, almost as if I was back in Europe. The menu is LARGE, breakfasts, scrambles, sweet and savory crepes, lunch, fresh OJ.
Great place to go on the weekends. 4 stars plus 1 for excellent service.
My recommendation: Gotta splurge on the strawberrry and nutella crepe. -
Review from Jen H.
Service, though limited, was really friendly and nice, even when the line got really stupidly long. Food was not bad, pretty ok, but nothing I'm dying to have again. I get so excited for breakfast/brunch fare, but if I can make the same or better at home, then I get bummed. It was kind of like that here.
Chorizo & egg scramble was tasty, so a bigger portion of that would've been killer. The ham & cheese crepe was meh, kind of like they just slapped in a deli slice right at the end (it was barely warm), folded the crepe and called it a day.
If you have wheels, then I'd go somewhere else, but if you're walking along Polk and hungry, this is not a bad option. -

This review is for their vegetarian crepes: Torino and Mediterranean.
Delicious.
It goes without saying that The Crepe House can make a delicious vegetarian crepe. The Torino and Mediterranean crepes were full of flavor and were not in any way overwhelmed with one particular ingredient. This is in stark contrast to Honey Honey where they can't seem to get the balance right.
The portions are rather big, and a side of potato slices and a side of greens are included with each crepe. If you're expecting to get a dessert crepe at the end of the meal, make sure to go in with a big appetite!
My girlfriend and I shared our crepes with each other, and we both agree that the Crepe house put a lot of care in making their crepes.
We will be going back. -

I can see this being a regular work spot for my Saturday afternoons.
They have a wide selection of meals (omelets, sandwiches, crepes, and more).
The seating option is broad enough to give me at least a choice between a good spot and another pretty good spot.
They also have WiFi.
