The Crab Depot

It's really simple. I ordered a dozen of extra large males but when I got there Mariah said after they sorted through crabs they only came up with a half a dozen because there was a lot of dead crabs. So I go a 1/2 dozen of extra large males and a 1/2 dozen of extra large females. The males were not extra large. I use to work at a crab spot and I sorted crabs. You can look at the pics I wish I could post the video of the lively females and the non moving males on my island

They always have crabs. I will admit that, but you cannot tell me that they do not either reheat them or cook dead crabs and sell them

On Dec 30 2023 I bought a dozen of live crabs for 69.00. All paper shells. Shame on Crab depot

9 of us arrived for a business dinner and were all equally disappointed. This is the first seafood hall I've been to where there is not a live tank of fresh shellfish. The results were as expected with tasteless crab season to excess with Old Bay. In fact Old Bay made an appearance on everything from fries to chicken fingers to crab dip. It appeared to be more a seasoning mask for poor quality food ---
* Mussels were cold and rubbery
* Crab bread was soggy and overloaded with mayo
* Chicken wings were twice fried and therefore dry
* Crab platter was disgusting. Returned it all

And for the record we asked for no refund to be certain there was no false belief of insincerity on our behalf. We showed up with a large party. The food was inedible, we learned our lesson, paid our bill and moved on. Will not be returning. And certainly don't recommend for a business dinner

Came in person 35 minutes ago to order "what they call large crab without seasoning I had people that came after me ordering larger doesn't and I'm still waiting. I guess because they already have them preseason and took a while for my 6 measly f****** crabs. I will never order here again. The only reason why I ordered. It's because my spot was already sold out they are true to size seafood carry out. I will never come here again for this b******* ever

Stopped by The Crab Depot today and picked up a few dozen crabs and cream of crab soup. They did not disappoint, Everything was delicious!

Don't do it. The worst crabs I've ever had. I've been trying crab shacks all around the beltway and have found some of the. best crabs but not here. I bought one dozen medium males for $55., an average price but I would rather have given that money away. The crabs tasted dirty when you could actually find any that weren't mushy or that had meat in them.

I was driving through Baltimore coming from Florida and while most places were sold out of any size female crabs....they had them and they were large! The aroma filled my car up so well that I had to buy two more dozen plus shrimp & crab cakes. Everything was scrumptious, service was fast & friendly. For my next trip here I will definitely be coming again!

Found this place on Yelp and called to inquire about the prices for extra large crabs. I ordered the crabs and cooked them at home. And the crabs were sourced from Louisiana and they were delicious.

Crab Depot is the spot if you wish to make the drive.

They always have a fresh selection of raw clams and oysters for purchase.
Always reasonably priced as well.
Same for their crabs.
Always meaty, well seasoned and adequately priced.
No price gouging here.

Went back on 4.15.16. They only have 2 sizes of crabs. I got the Large Males for 40 bucks. I figured with a nice sized crab, I'd only need 6. I was dissapointed. Of the 6 crabs, 4 smelled like ammonia. :( It means that the crabs were either old or not good. :( I live far from this location so I didn't even bother going back. If you buy crabs on low stock days, crack open your crabs before you leave this location. This has sullied my opinion of these guys.
