im surprised im still alive!
i used to drunk drive home from wes cov to highland park yrs ago thanks to hazel.. the old lady bartender who was relentless w/the rum in the mai tais.
i luv this place.
dive-ness to the max.
old regulars that arent as trashy as the veteranos at king eddys...
vast parking lot.
close to the 10.. maybe thats why i always felt invincible driving 15 miles home after spending $40 here..( which actually gets you lots of drinks)
I used to practically live here, and Greg is so nice, but the old man whose name I dont know, but I run into at the Elephant Bar all of the time, is always drunk and be careful and check this, when he makes the drinks at the time of handling them to you the palm of his hand touches the rim, so FYI if he is the bartender stick to beer :)
PS. My exes love this joint cuz is chill and they can watch the games, without being distracted

Total dive and I love it. The best dive in West Covina. Nice people who pour striff drinks. Cheap beers. Pool table games are cheap.
plum creepers ;-)
cheap and good people
The Cove is the best bar in West Covina. Hands down! Plus they pour with a heavy hand and never over-charge. They are right next door to Store13 so don't be a stranger!
God bless this place.
I walked in and immediately fell in love. Was it the smoking inside? The coolers of beer? the creepy old drunks? Incredibly cheep booze? The fact they played rap music all night? Whatever it was I'm hooked.
My friend and I took a seat at the bar and were greeted by an old drunk couple who chatted us up. By the end of the night we were calling them " mom & pops ". They even hassled the guy I was with to take good care of me.
My friend ordered a Jauger bomb...which they served to him without the bomb? it was in a 1/2 filled beer cup with no ice. Watch out for the bathrooms, the toilets are janky/dont flush.. i found that out the hard way...or should i say the person after me did. idk.

Suddenly, this has become my frequent watering hole. I don't know...Tina's is too bright. I always start off there and then walk down a bit to The Cove. I like my dive bars to be dark.
Good jukebox. Pool table (if you like that). Drinks are ok (not too stiff).
My only complaint is the smoky stench I carry in my hair afterwards. Bleh.

Come on kiddies! I can't believe nobody reviewed 'Da Cove' yet! This is the FIRST dive bar I ever went to. That's right...first public drinking experience. It's cheap, the strength of drinks and whether or not they card can be sporadic. Who cares?! It's one of those places you go because it's close to where you live, and you know about it. So check it out if you like crazy dives. I've seen fights, people yelling, etc. But I've also made insta-friends with random patrons and met cool people!
If you like good service, and clean venues, it's not really for you. Otherwise, you might like it!
It's kind of hidden, but once you find it, there's also a great little boutique next to it that sells higher end skate clothes and Harajuku Lovers stuff.
**I only put moderately priced, because I can drink a good amount, so I can usually expect to spend more than ten bucks. But honestly...ten bucks goes a long way here!**
Wood paneling, a juke box with Led Zeppelin, The Doors, and usually a bartender that doesn't realize that the 80's are over, well that's the Cove. It has regulars during the day and a young crowd in the evenings. You go here to get your cheap liquor, but if you want beer you should head down to Tina's Tavern. And yes, it smells like smoke, but that stench is the smell of booze lovin'.

This place is the dive of all dives in West Covina. The drinks are priced just right and the crowd is good. It could be a bit packed on some nights as the place is a tad small. But in all not a bad joint. I highly recommend you bring cash or be prepared to pay a healthy ATM fee cause they don't take credit cards. If you dint like smokers then stay away.
Small, smokey, dirty, dive bar, my drink was a little soft, one bar table that plays really nice.
