THEY HAVE EL-WIRE! These people know what they are doing. Want to glow? Be completely silver? Try on a wig? Go to Burning Man? This is the place that will truly help you out, and do it with a fun attitude - they like what they do. I wish I had more excuses to visit and buy.

They have good costumes. And their masks are really fun. But I can't help but feel unwelcome in the store. The atmosphere is stuffy and the staff have been pretty rude and snobbish every time I have visited ( at least 5) Other than that, the prices are pretty good and you get your deposit back if you left it in good condition. They close pretty early too and if you are looking for Halloween make sure you are prepared for a mess! Everyone goes here for the season and because rental deposits are 24 hours the costume choice becomes limited very quickly! I have found much better places out here in LA but because this establishment is very unique in Boise, it will have to do.

Great place to go! Even if your not renting a costume and just want to look at all the neat clothes, come here. Plenty of staff to help you out, just make sure to ask before you try on anything. Giant selection, everything is sorted too. Also have props, makeup and accessories for sale. I rented my mobster suit for Halloween here, easy and simple. She got some of her costume accessories here too. We will definitely be back!

History
Established in 1984
The Costume Shop was started by Star Moxley, a costumer by trade. She started out with a seasonal store next to the Egyptian Theater, and later had stints on 8th Street near Cazba and the warehouse district off 9th Street. We've been in the current location for about 13 years now. In 2008, Star sold the business to Robert and Chris.
Meet the Business Owner: Robert S.
I spent 25 years writing and managing software projects, the last 18 of those years with Hewlett Packard in Boise. In 2007 I accepted early retirement from HP and in 2008 I purchased The Costume Shop. It's quite the career change, but one that I needed!
