I was here Saturday morning/afternoon. I had Ciara/Sierra, and she was fantastic. She paid close attention to detail, she was friendly, and she did not rush through the Brazilian blow out. I'd highly recommend this place or her. I felt like she walked me through each step along with aftercare. I also got a hair mask to take home after waiting the 24-48h.

There is street parking, beach parking, and a small parking garage across from Fishbar. Parking isn't easy. I was dropped off.

My hair feels and looks amazing. My bf sped away with me joking that he picked up a new gf hah!

Inside is clean, it's the place with red Dutch doors. Corner of rosecrans and highland.

Youdai saved my hair! I'm so glad I trusted reviews that sang his praises on Yelp! I recently went blonde and the stylist who did it at another salon over-processed it and left it two-tone (which was cute like 10 years ago!) I hated it and needed someone to fix it! Youdai turned my hair into a beautiful, natural soft blonde. I love it! I also loved the salon. When I went on a Monday I was the only client. It was relaxing and Youdai works without a lot of the extraneous chatting I usually dislike about salons. I feel much more confident with my hair now. Wish I would have gone to him sooner! Genius with color!

The last time I had my hair cut was in Osaka and I vowed to only go to Japanese salons since then. So I found this place whilst searching yelp for a Japanese hair salon. After reading many great reviews I decided to go see Yudai for my cut. My hair was long and hadn't been cut in years, so I wanted something drastic, and went for a short bob like cut with bangs. I showed the stylist pictures of styles I like, but ultimately left it up to him to do what he thought was best for my type of hair and face.

After a soothing wash and head massage he began cutting lots of length off. Once he got the length in a great place he blow dried my hair to shape it, then cut the bangs adding his own flair to them. I am so pleased with my cut and will be back for trims and anything else I may need that they offer!

LADIES: Yudai is a freaking rock star! He left for Japan briefly but now he's back and i can finally stop looking around for a great colorist and stylist.
PS- you should know that this guy just won an award for Best Colorist a couple of weeks ago...just saying.

I have been in LA for three years and my first two hair salon experiences were so bad that I have been cutting my own hair for two years (shame shame, I know). Needless to say my hair was an absolute mess. Between thinning scissors and razors I had gaps between layers and a trillion flyaway.

I found this place on yelp, and decided to give it a go, due to reviews and great pricing. Let me tell you, Yudai was not only up to the challenge, but we both giggled at my disaster from my YouTube fringe, to the split ends. I have thick Hispanic hair and Yudai just worked with it with patience and creativity and now my hair looks amazing. He is friendly, funny and an artist! I am happy I found him!

I love Coocan. Thank you Yelp community for sharing this amazing place. I've been looking for a great place to get my hair cut and color and getting an amazing facial just sealed the deal. I moved to the westside a few years ago and have been struggling to find a new team to care for me.

Misuzu is very responsive when making my appointment. Her facial was phnomenal. I walked away refreshed, ridiculously relaxed and my face just glowing!

Yudai is amazing! He takes the time to listen to what you want and makes recommendation and offers his suggestions on what will look best for you. I have no idea what color he is using, but it's held up really well and looks amazing!

I love the care and attention to every single tiny little detail that Misuzu and Yudai have. They absolutely provide the best services, hands down. I can't want to return for my next color and facial. I can't express how lucky I feel to have found them. I love their Japanese hair wash basin, it's like nothing I've experienced and it's excellent! That's all I'm saying, so you'll make an appointment and it out for yourself.

Yudai is kind of a big deal in Japan. So glad I found him! I keep getting stopped on how naturally brighter and fresher my new hair makes me look! My hair was black and a big mess after years of DIY coloring. Yudai recommended ash and it actually makes my hair look & feel healthier.

Yudai patiently explained different processes and all the color options, he really listened to what I wanted and tailored to my personality and lifestyle (no maintenance). He did not push expensive services or products. Or judge my DIY home coloring. Looking forward to going lighter and could only trust him! Highly recommended!

Efficient online booking is a major plus. Convenient parking in the lot!

Hair stylist- Youdai does the best blonde I've ever had and uses Olaplex. Also, he is able to dry cut so that when my hair naturally dries it falls perfectly in place- a rare find!
