What a great idea to fit all the cheesecake goodness into a cupcake size treat. Located in wonderful Pike Place Market. I enjoyed the Quad Chocolate with a side chocolate shot sip drink. I was ready to take on the crowds of people that flock through the Market.. You have to treat yourself once in a while. its nice to treat your friends, but don't forget about you. The Confectional is another reason to visit the Pike Place Market.
I chant these words a couple times out loud before I take a bite "Forgive me chocolate for I have sinned. I have not yet had my daily confection " ~ from Paul B, Verano, Owner =)

I ordered a 16 pack to-go for a birthday party since I was too late to put in an order for one of the larger cheesecakes (you have to order before noon the day before you'd like to pick up your cheesecake). This was a fortuitous mistake since the variety afforded by the mix is great. While we didn't find the Seattle's NY-Style cheesecakes that extraordinary, we really enjoyed the Quadruple Chocolate and Lemon White Chocolate. The Triple Berry and Raspberry White Chocolate were also quite good. While a bit pricey, they were definitely a birthday party hit. Excellent for any dinner party.
If you like cheesecake then you'll love The Confectional. Hell... I'm not even a huge cheesecake fan and I found the individual cheesecakes here absolutely fantastic.
I've also gotten great service here. The first time I went, my friend and I were overwhelmed by our options and awkwardly stood gawking at the display case. The gentleman serving us politely responded to questions and enthusiastically provided descriptions and suggestions and was very patient while we pondered our choices. After a couple of minutes (I don't know how the guy didn't come across the counter and strangle us for being so indecisive) we still couldn't pick just a single one. The gentleman politely made a suggestion.
Tear the paper, flatten, cut down the middle with the plastic knife he provided (the delicious cookie crust at the base makes sure the halves stay intact), swap halves, and enjoy two splendid treats.
Brilliant! We finally chose caramel and peanut butter/chocolate. Oh sweet, sugary goodness... One suggestion. Make sure you have something to wash it down with as these are very rich indeed.

If you have sweet craving and cheesecake is a favorite, then The Confectional is a great place to blow the diet. It's also a great place to get a selection of bite size heaven for dinner parties, etc. Totally recommended for your sugar coma needs.
Wow. This place is part of the Savor Seattle food tour, and WOW I'm so glad it is. The hot chocolate here is AMAZING. It's not typical watery hot chocolate- this is rich, thick, delicious drinking chocolate with fabulous spices. It's only 50 cents for a shot of it, or $3 if you want a full 4oz cup of it (which would be way too much for one human being to consume at a time)... besides, the shot is a perfect amount anyway. WOW It's amazing.
We came back later and got some cheesecake and truffles too. We got the special mother's day cheesecake- Lavender White Chocolate. It's fantastic!! Very interesting flavors, fantastic creamy cheesecake texture- they're regular flavors are probably awesome too. The truffles were okay. I loved the chocolate cheesecake, but the peanut butter chocolate, the kahlua, and the mint chocolate cookie were just okay.
Bottom line: AWESOME drinking chocolate, AWESOME cheesecake. And great prices too!
cheesecake truffle = two bites of heaven
Totally worth elbowing your way through the crowds to get there.

Attention cheesecake lovers- You must try this place! I've seen these bite sized desserts convert people that don't even like cheesecake. it's that good.
It's been a hit every party or get together I've taken it to~
It's located in my favorite area: Pike Place Market (easy to walk by since it's amongst the plethora of other shops! but u don't wanna miss out!)
I love that they are individual sized so you can try all the flavors! Or its great for those of you that are on portion control. It's ok to indulge, just a little. :)

My favorite New Zealand export*, right between 'Flight of the Conchords' and the kiwi fruit, is Paul V, the big cheese(cake) and owner of The Confectional.
Not only is he a seriously nice guy, he makes a helluva cheesecake - raspberry white chocolate, PB & Chocolate, coconut cherry, etc. You get the idea - they're crazy incredible. He uses all natural ingredients and you can taste the love in each of the mini-cheesecakes.
Mini-cupcakes were so last week!**
*Technically, he's not a product of NZ, but of the US. He did open up the first Confectional over there b/f moving back here.
**Blasphemy, but they're actually THAT good!

Forgive me father for I have sinned (and I'm not even Catholic.) I have gone to the Confectional many times and have only shared once. Funny thing is I'm not even a big cheesecake fan but these mini morsels of goodness have changed my mind.
The quadruple chocolate is one of the best afternoon pick me ups ever but I learned it must be shared or I'll end up bouncing off the walls the rest of the afternoon. The Mexican chocolate is sweet but spicy and is so good. The cookies & mint chocolate is almost as good as Ben & Jerry's Oreo mint ice cream. The caramel is yum but needs a pinch of sea salt on it to make it OMG so good.
Besides the mini cheesecakes they also make 7" and 10" cheesecakes and truffles but the truffles are a bit like a cocktease, they give you a little taste but they don't fulfill your needs if you know what I mean. So I say go for a mini and enjoy every second of it or if you must have truffles buy The Confectional Dozen which will keep you satisfied for quite a while.

Yes, finally, cheesecake that I don't feel guilty about eating. I mean those mini cheesecakes are practically nothing so they don't count right? These are the perfect cure for your cheesecake loving taste buds. If you're like me, it is hard to choose when there is an assortment of flavors. The minis and cheesecake truffles allow you to get a little taste of them all. I am trying to work my way through all their flavors, but so far I am absolutely hooked on the Lemon White Chocolate.

He had to use the bathroom. I had to buy cheesecake. I think I was the far, far luckier of us two.
They aren't inexpensive; $20 for a half-dozen little cheesecake bites. Yet each little chunk is a tender morsel of cheeeeesecakey goodness that is worth it.
I love that they give you a card that explains which one is which when you get an assortment. Although, they're all really tasty so does it really matter?

(I now present a one-sided hypothetical conversation with me as the speaker):
Forgive me Father for I have sinned. It has been a while since my last confession.
First of all, I've got to confess to using a certain swear word far too often. I have probably used it several hundr...
What? This place isn't for confession?
Oh, conFECTIONal. I see. So, what, you guys sell miniature cheesecakes here? Sure, I'll get one of the New York style.
Wow, that's delicious. Move anywhere near the Cheesecake Factory and you could put those guys out of business. This is the best cheesecake I've eaten in years. And it's very compact so I'm not even sure how much I just ate.
Do I want any more? Thanks for the offer but I'll get one when I come back next time.
One final question and I'll leave you alone, you don't have the power to forgive sins, do you?
So the swearing is still on my permanent record?
Shit.

Paul is my hero. No really he is. His tasty cheesecakes just make me drool thinking about them. Big puddles on the keyboard and down my shirt. They're so rich and tasty. He even got me to try a savory one, it was a chili cheesecake. Yeah, it tasted a gajillion times better than it sounds. He even does a breakfast one from time to time. Oh, and let us not forget his hot chocolate. It's like Paul took rich dark chocolate and just melted it into a cup. My god the man is a genius, a savior, and his products rock my face's ass off.

A blob of sweet, filled with sweet, coated in a shell of sweet.
Poundingly sweet in a good way. The cheescake truffles are nice and interesting - but not something you can down a dozen of.
The shots of hot chocolate are great on cold days when you are cutting through the market. Mexicanish hot chocolate with a lot A LOT of cinnamon.
Located in the heart of the Pike Place Market, this is a great place to take people on a walking tour of Seattle.

So, my husbands favorite thing in the ENTIRE world (besides me, of course) is CHEESECAKE!!! I couldn't decide between all of the incredible varieties. So, I ended up getting a couple: Chocolate Peanutbutter & Chocolate Mint Cookie! The Chocolate PB was sadly soggy because of the long trip home... :-( BUT the Chocolate Mint Cookie was to DIE FOR!!!! I mean, I myself, am not even a huge cheesecake fan... but it melted in my mouth and had the perfect blend of rich & sweet chocolate and decadent mint. MMMMMM. They also have these cute little cheesecake truffles, that we want to try next time.

I do love cheesecake, but I probably wouldn't have bothered to seek out The Confectional at Pike Place Market, had I not been dragged there by a friend of the owner. Thank goodness for friends with connections --- now I know exactly where to go when my workday holds me down and punches me in the face, and only a tiny, festively wrapped cheesecake will soothe the pain.
The Confectional is pretty new --- it's been open for just a few months --- but business was brisk when we stopped by on a weekend. Their small storefront is painted in rich, inviting dark brown colors, although unfortunately there's nowhere to sit. A glass display case shows off their regular assortment of mini-cheesecakes ($3.50), including exotic flavors like Peanut Butter & Chocolate, Coconut Cherry, and Creamsicle. In addition to the regular flavors, they offer daily and seasonal specials --- when I visited before Easter, the special was Hot Cross Bun cheesecake. I tried the caramel cheesecake, which was rich and creamy, with a substantial and dense graham-cracker crust that was at least a quarter-inch thick. The cheesecakes have a sour cream topping, and many of the flavors have fancy decorations on top, like berry swirls or chocolate-covered coffee beans.
If cheesecake isn't your thing, they offer some other menu items. Cheesecake truffles (OK, I know that's still cheesecake) give you a chocolate-coated morsel of cheesecake for $1.50 a pop or $18 for a baker's dozen. Their Columbian Hot Chocolate ($3) is served in a small Dixie-cup, but honestly, that's more than enough of this super-rich, peppery drink that has the texture and intensity of liquid chocolate. Be warned, this is not a go-along beverage, but a dessert unto itself. Full-sized cheesecakes are also available for custom orders with 24-hour advance notice.
The portions seem small, but are actually perfectly sized to satiate your cravings for sugary, chocolatey cheese (and, conveniently, just a little too tiny to share). For a small indulgence or a reward for slogging through a particularly tough day, the Confectional is ready and waiting to absolve you of all your sins. Especially gluttony.

The best cheesecake you will ever hope to have. And thats an understatement. I took a NY style cake to a family dinner and EVERYONE said it was the best they have ever had. Also they have many flavors and they all come in single serving sizes so there is something for everyone. GO GET SOME!!!

Confess! You thought you could resist cheesecake because of its demonic level of calories ... but The Confectional now has a sugar-free product that banishes that last defense. Tasty!
And the liquid chocolate is now tempts you in a Tiny Paper Cup that is only 50 cents (!). There is no resistence to this insanely great value!
Alas, if you succumb to these temptations, you may lose all free will and sink into an orgy of cheesecake delight. But at least you will have a smile on your face, and can repent later!

I think I am in love! These delicious "uber mini" sized cheesecakes for one are perfect, and priced nice 3.50 each. Today I had the peanut butter and chocolate, I am looking forward to going back for the Seattle New York style, the spicy Mexican chocolate, pumpkin, mocha...well you get the idea. They make 4 sizes of cheesecake and cheesecake truffels too. The staff was helpful, friendly and my new best friends! I can see a lot of running in my future to keep the cheesecake bootie away.

Mini-Cheesecakes nurtured in New Zealand for a couple years to become pure perfection..... now that is love!
You can walk into most restaurants today and find cheesecake on the dessert menu... some restaurants even base their entire 'theme concept' around it.... boring. Most of the time you're so stuffed from dinner, but you still feel obligated to order that flavorless, factory-made slice which makes you feel even more bloated. Not a good feeling...
Cheesecake is something to be enjoyed without the guilt. Why suffer when we have places like The Confectional that understand our needs.
The nice thing about The Confectional is that they have something for everyone...
- If you don't want that huge slice at the restaurant, you can have a single homemade mini-cheesecake or cheesecake truffle to satisfy your craving without over-doing it.
- If you can't decide which flavor you want (but you don't want to have to go through a list of ten thousand different kinds) they have a nice variety. My personal favorite is the Mexican Chocolate. They also have some great seasonal and special flavors too. I hope they bring back the Orange Creamsicle soon.
- If you want to over-do it but can't decide on a flavor, pick up a baker's dozen of mini-cheesecakes or truffles. They keep well in the fridge.
- If you have just been dumped and all you want to do is eat and watch soap operas, you can order a medium 7-inch homemade cheesecake.
- If you want to make a great impression with friends or co-workers, you can pick up a large 10-inch homemade cheesecake. You'll be their savior!
Paul and Troy (the owners) have truly created something special in the Pike Place market. Next time you are out and about, stop by The Confectional. It would be a sin not to...

oh sweet and holy mother of god, how could i have lived all these years without the confectional? my cheesecake was an absolute perfect little blob of carmely-goodness [which, though mini-sized, was rich enough to share with my salivating husband] but the hat really goes off to the hot chocolate. seriously, confectional hot chocolate is an ultra rich, ultra thick, creamy coat-your-throat chocolately wonder made complete with take-it-or-leave-it sprinkle-your-own cayenne pepper. i would drink their hot chocolate every day of the year. i would drink a bucket of it on the hottest day in july. i would freeze it, have it bronzed, and worship it as my new god.

Sooooo good. I wish they had more than one shop so I wouldn't have to go down to Pike Place to get it. Please open up in Washington, D.C. because I have to move there in the future. My hat is off to the peanut butter cheesecake, the raspberry-dark chocolate cheesecake, and this hazelnut one I got a while back. All I can say is Damn!
CHEESECAKE HEAVEN!! Ok Yelpers, my review is solely on taste and packaging ALONE for my review on these mini cheesecakes. YES, mini cheesecakes. OMG, they are divine. My friends were hanging out at Pike Place and gave me two cakes as a get well treat. And boy was it a treat.
I had the Mexican Chocolate with a hint of cayenne pepper so if you like Chai Spice tea - get like 12 of these. Then, the other was the Raspberry White Chocolate - enough said. DELSIH. They came in a perfect box so they don't move around & get squished plus it has a little window as a cheesecake "peep" show.
So, please Yelpers, check this place out on my behalf (can't get out for a few days) and let me know what you think. They are a new business and I'm all about supporting our local peeps that are GOOD. When I feel better, I'll definitely check them out and update the review.
Okay already, go & eat some cheesecake!!!

What a tasty new addition to Pike Place. Wandering about Pike Place, I noticed this new establishment. Most people just gawking but I pushed through to see this beautiful display case full of mini-cheesecake cups, cheesecake truffles and full cheesecakes!
Now, I'm really not a cheesecake person. Usually I'll pass up on it since it's kind of gross to me, but the truffles were fairly tempting and came in such interesting flavors. We grabbed some creamsicle cake covered in dark chocolate. Absolutely delicious and full of fresh orange zest. And only $1.50 each per yummy truffle.
The staff was friendly and you could watch them making the cakes and dipping the truffles. Glad to see this new addition to the market.
