Review from Christine M.

Over two years later, and we're still using TCA for every-other-week cleanings. It is seriously a highlight of my week to come home from work on Tuesday nights and find the place sparkling, beds made, trash emptied, couch prettied up, etc.
In two years, we've only had one breakage: a poorly-mounted picture fell and the frame cracked at the corner. I patched it up and it was no big deal, but better secured all the similarly-mounted pictures to protect against them (or me!) accidentally knocking one down.
Now I just need to find someone to re-shelve my books, do my laundry, and cook for me and I'll be in heaven! :)1 Previous Review: Show all »

I really like The Cleaning Authority. They do an excellent cleaning job and the management is easy to reach and very proactive. I also like the auto-pay feature with my credit card.
My only issue was that one crew turned down my thermostat to 60 and left it on all day after they left. I called to "complain" (saying it's OK to turn it on, just don't forget to turn it off) and it was handled immediately and professionally by the manager. No issues since.
I highly recommend The Cleaning Authority to clean your home. -

Most of the reviews here are pretty thorough, so I won't bore you with a long, drawn-out debrief, but we had a great first experience with The Cleaning Authority this week.
After five years, a furry four-legged drool machine and a handful of failed housekeeping services (More Hands was a complete joke), I called TCA for professional help.
I clean "at" my house weekly, sometimes more, but this hot, dusty summer left every surface grimy and in need of a deep clean. After a meeting and walk through with the owners, Drew and Eileen, we scheduled time for a team to come out. They were fantastic. Granted, they spent more than 3 hours in our 1,100 sq ft place, but I (after 4 days) am still noticing things they cleaned. Like the interior shelves of our entertainment center. And the inside of the slats on our mission style coffee table. (I still don't know how they got to the dog hair and dust in there - I've tried and it's tricky.)
Long story short: While they might be pricey, TCA is a case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. And the initial clean being open-ended is a great model for the kind of service they provide. -

We just had our first clean with TCA and are very pleased. Esmerelda was able to come to my home to deliver a quote the day after I called. I received an online quote for $80-100 for cleaning every other week and her quote was $90. For reference, the inital cleaning for my 1700 square foot house was $225 so there is an initial investment. However, there has been no surface untouched. We have new construction going up on either side of our house and with the dry summer, dust was everywhere. The team cleaned the grooves/moulding on my doors, around the litter box and right up to the gate where I kept my 2 dogs. The air even seems cleaner in here. I previously had someone cleaning my house every week and it was frustrating to continue to see dirt/dust in the same places. I felt like I not only had a to pre-clean but also clean up after the housekeeper. I don't believe I will be doing that anymore...and if I do, I feel confident that a call to Esmerelda will take care of it.

It's one day after my cleaning, and I'm starting to really notice things. Like the spots on my shower at the top where I sit my shaving cream can and it makes foam marks on the tile. They cleaned it all off. More Hands never did that.
My cabinets are seriously a different color! They scrubbed them like they've never been scrubbed before.
They cleaned the dust bunnies off my popcorn ceiling! The cleaned my air-conditioning vents.
They came back last night, brought Thomas Keller with them and served me a 10 course tasting menu, complete with wine pairings. Then they sent me a man who was the hottest thing I've ever seen, and well...
He cleaned it all up.
Man, these people really are the best. (One of these things is not true. Guess which one.)1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Jenny K.

After increasingly bad experiences with another local cleaning service, we went with The Cleaning Authority. As with other services, the depth of the cleaning depends a bit upon which team comes out. However, across the board our biweekly house cleans have been more than acceptable and we are very happy.
We come home to a spotless house, with all the furniture and carpets thoroughly vacuumed. The sink, stove, appliances, etc are all beautiful and crumb free. They have always been more than patient with our occasional need to switch days or times. In fact, my biggest complaints have been that sometimes they get a bit over excited and straighten my papers on my desk (thus losing my place in my work) and occasionally the cleaners don't want to go in because the dogs are barking and they are scared (the dogs are confined, but I can't keep them from barking). So one of my biggest problems is that they clean too much. Oh woe is me.
I feel like they do a very good job and things don't just appear to be clean, but are actually clean. I am very grateful, as we can use the time we would have been cleaning to hang out and have fun as a family on the weekends. That's a luxury that I am thankful they give us. -

We were very happy with the cleaning and the customer service. However, they kept breaking my belongings. The first time, they broke a vase. I was sad but it wasn't a huge deal. It was a little wobbly so I understood that people make mistakes. Then, a few months later, they broke 2 items in one cleaning session! And they were items that were very special to me. In retrospect, I should have told them not to clean anything on that particular shelf. But, these were items that I have no idea how they were broken, unless they were not being careful. So, I do think they are a good company that can be trusted to do a great job at cleaning, and the customer service is great- they did try to give my next cleaning for free but I just had to switch to another company after that. So, if you use them, just be very careful and tell them which areas should not be cleaned to avoid things getting broken.

Used this company and found the staff very friendly and hard workers! and all the little things mentioned by Christine M. are true! It was funny the 1st time I saw the toilet paper folded. Felt like I was in the Plaza Hotel. :) The owner, Drew, is also very friendly and really makes an effort to ensure customer satisfaction. Good job ya'll!

I originally wrote a pretty detailed and slamming review for The Cleaning Authority. I have decided to revise my review because at the time I was very upset and frustrated. I just got off the phone with the owner Drew and felt a lot better after speaking to him. I was impressed with the time he took to apologize and his desire for feedback. He listened to me and let me express my thoughts with open ears. Though I still feel strongly about the need to speak "just enough" english to get by at the job I realize that for some this would not be a big issue. Did they come in and professionally clean my home...yes...were they polite...yes...did they use their time well...yes. All of these things are important while looking for someone to come into your home. Drew listened to my feedback and we talked through a few options on how to work on that issue. Though I have chosen not to continue using them I did realize that my original review was quite mean and over the top. Yelp is a great tool for people who seek guidance about local businesses, however, I encourage all those yelpers out there to take other's opinions into consideration but also to realize that they are just that....opinions.
