3 reviews for The China Light
The BEST crab rangoon I've ever tasted! They have great prices on their lunch combo's -- with more than enough food for 2 people. The Cashew Shrimp is cooked perfectly with just the right seasoning in the sauce, and combination of vegetables, shrimp and nuts.
The restaurant is small with no more than 10 or so tables. Service is always friendly and fast. The whole families loves the food!
Well growing up eating mostly spicy and fresh food, I am somewhat biased towards Chinese cuisine for a simple reason that i find most to be very greasy and bland.
I ordered just after 2pm so you'd think the waitress (she could've been the owner) would assume I wanted to order from the lunch menu. I have specifically told her I have never been there so I wanted something light and simple. I guess it's my fault for not asking further. She suggested Mongolian Beef which comes with S/S chicken or pork. I told her I wanted the Mongolian Beef spicy but I didn't get it the way I ordered it.
On the other hand, the favor was there. They also gave me the S/S sauce on the side which I thought was thoughtful (most restaurants could care less if you come to mushy S/S chicken and just drizzle it all over the fried meat). Also, it wasn't as greasy as most Chinese dishes I've had in the past. The dinner portion was $9.95, which came with a huge vegetable spring roll, a generous portion of fried rice (sauteed with bbq pork) and your choice of hot & sour or egg drop soup.
This is our go to Chinese food place. It's close to our house and the food is very good. The prices are just right and the lunch portions are generous. I tend to judge a Chinese food place by their kung pao chicken and China Light's is very good. I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here and I've tried a large part of their menu over the years. The staff is friendly and always remembers us (we do eat here once a week it seems).
