Review Highlights
Surprisingly this place still maintains a relatively decent lunch crowd. We came here for a late lunch(1:30) and was told there's a 15 minute wait for a table otherwise there's self seating at the bar.
After we were seated our waitress was quick to come by to take our drink order which to me is a good sign of being attentative. We ordered:
Corn fry fritter- I thought was okay, but my girlfriend liked it.
Herb Crusted Salmon- Girlfriends order(bit too strong of a smell for me!)
Cashew Chicken Salad- Way too much fried wonton wrapper, but still ok.
For a lunch break this place might possibly be a great choice given their level of occupancy at a relatively cheaper price.
My tribe was out! We where looking for an adventure that wouldn't break the bank! It is so beautiful inside, the decor was exquisite!
Sunday near noon we where seated immediately, in a booth next to the bar. Our server was a bartender, and very knowledgeable. I had been but Mr., lil Miss and Master Jr hadn't been. The menu is OVERWHELMING!!! Seriously, there are over 100 choices not including the drinks and desserts!! OMG!!! Everytime (3times) I go I order the same thing, Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps. Mr. ordered the Joe's Special, lil Miss ~ Fish & Chips and Master Jr ordered the Cheese Steak Sandwich. We tried a small plate appetizer some sausage on mashed potato...
I ordered a Classic Mojito, it was WAY TOO SWEET. Mr. had 2 Bloody Mary's.
Food was 2 stars, service made it taste better REALLY wonderful, THUS the 3rd star.
ITS A CHAIN CORPORATE RESTAURANT, and I prefer the Ma' & Pa joints...My tribe reacts like suckers for glitter & glam spots....SOOOOOOOOOOO... I guess my review is kind-of-a back handed compliment...
The food was good, the cheesecake was good. The servers need a serious attitude check. Our server was actually pretty nice, I think we had the only guy server in the entire place; the rest of the servers that we saw were catty, unprofessional whiners. You are *working* in a restaurant! You're not on *vacation* in Hawaii!
Everything was fine until we were leaving, when we walked through the corridor through the bar area to get to the door. We walked past what I only assume was the bleach-blonde Alpha-B*tch of the restaurant, who glared at us and then made a dramatic swoop against the railing to let us past and then started yelling at us "oh, I'm sooooo sorry, oh, no, please, it's TOTALLY my fault I was in your way, oh PLEASE excuse me, wait, let me get out of your way, oh I'm sooooooooo sorry" like the queen of the (PMS) universe, while the rest of the pack cackled along.
Apparently the corridor was the preferred route for the servers, and they just couldn't *believe* that CUSTOMERS would DARE walk through there. I'm pretty sure that after we walked out the door she pulled down her pants and marked her territory all the way down that walkway. WOW.
I definitely will NOT be returning to the Southcenter Cheesecake Factory, and I'm going to think twice about going into any of the others too. The food was pretty good, but there are far better (non-chain) restaurants with servers who aren't so unprofessional and who don't have delusions of grandeur.
We have a ton of family in town this weekend and we chose to eat at a place that was near where everyone was staying, so we chose the cheesecake factory. This place is good, not amazing. The pros are that there is an enormous menu, which I guess you could also view as a con. They don't really specialize in anything (aside from cheesecake).. you can get Mexican, Italian, Salads, whatever your heart can dream up they probably have it on their menu. It took our big group forever to make a decision on what to eat.
One other good thing is that we didn't have reservation and getting a party of greater than 10 in there was no big deal (On a Wednesday evening granted).
The food was pretty good. I has spicy cashew chicken, which tasted pretty good, though I have certainly had better Asian dishes like that.
In the end we all shared a couple of pieces of various cheesecakes which were very very good. My favorite is their white chocolate macadamia nut cheesecake. Highly recommended.
All in all, if you are near southcenter mall this place is as good as any, maybe a cut above. Recommended for large groups with varying tastes.
So they're open until 11pm on Sundays.
Just an FYI. I had the Chicken De Panna and tew "Factory Peach Bellini". Also a fudge cheesecake.
I have to say service was a little slower than when they were packed at peak lunch hour and things were certainly winding down last night.
However our server(s) where very polite and and upbeat, and the Bellini were pretty good.

Okay Yelpers,
We're driving past the Cheesecake Factory- and I have made it one of my goals to go to… Read more »
There is something decidedly off about the South Center location. The layout is awkward and counter-intuitive, the service is very plodding, not very skilled and the food is substandard. The first time that I ever went to The Cheesecake Factory it was at the downtown location shortly after it opened and I was prepared to hate it, but it wasn't so bad. I've been there a couple of times since and it's been about the same. Why the South Center location is so different is a mystery to me. You'd think that with a chain establishment there'd be more consistency, but apparently not. No great loss, there's just too many options out there to get bogged down in this one.
Lunch, dinner, and late night treat were okay. I LOVE their cheesecake, but their meals are not that impressive. A bit bland, but I'll be back for the cheesecake! ; )
Came to the Cheese Cake factory after an early movie today. We arrived a little over an hour aftre they open and there was already a wait. Since it was just me and one of my girls our wait was only around 15 mins.
We were on a little bit of a time crunch since my friend had to be at work an hour from when we sat down. We opted for no alcohol and just got cokes. She had the sliders and I went with one of there specials, Carmel Chicken. Our waiter also asked if we wanted bread and we said sure.
Our bread didnt come out for almost 20 mins and then when our food came I had a chicken plate that didn't match the description off the menu. After figuring out the waiter put the wrong thing in I waited another 15mins for my actually dish.
All in all it was an okay experience. I have eaten here a few times and never been overly impressed but its not a bad place to go for drinks.
Not really much to say that other people haven't said. The food comes in the amount of "lots"...the water and soda are always kept full, the food is good, the price isn't that bad, and if you go in at 11am you get seated IMMEDIATELY!
I've eaten here a few times and today was probably the best. Why?
1) Got in right away (go at 11am for lunch...)
2) Was on a date with my wife
3) We just got appetizers (Texas wrap thinggies and Lettuce Wraps)
4) It was free (we had a gift card).
Why not 5 stars? It's just not "outstanding" like some places are. This doesn't mean I wouldn't come back...it's just I won't make a habit out of it.
I'm brown, I get down and I can lean with best of cholos... Now with this being said it makes me wonder why ANYONE, let alone the woman serving me and my black friend who find it appropriate to make a racial slur.
It all started one glorious day at the establishment I refer to as The Factory. Normally, this is a three star establishment. The menu is about as thick as a deck of playing cards, the food is a bit better than Applebees but they have the best ranch and iced tea around. And yes, I am the kinda girl who orders a side of ranch for whatever I'm eating.
Anyways, we order our drinks: an iced tea for me (passion flavored of course) and a lemonade for my besty and in about ten minutes they show up at our table. Then we wait on our complimentary bread which shows up in another 15 minutes or so. At this point we are BOTH out of drinks and our order still has NOT been taken. A few more minutes go by and our order has been taken--- 2 sandwiches neither of which were fancy unless you consider the pickles I ask to be put in my grilled cheese. Yes, I was pregnant at the time. And yes, our drinks still had not be refilled. 15 minutes or so later our food comes out sans the ranch dressing. I, of course, ask for ranch again and point out our drinks need to be topped off. Our server leaves for the ranch and the drinks and then then it hits us--- the smell of nail polish remover.... The smell is unmistakable, heavy and is wofting at our table. When the server gets back with our drinks and ranch I have to ask her what this smell is. I assumed someone was doing their nails in the kitchen since we were sitting along the kitchen wall... The server responds with, "THERE IS A MEXICAN FIXING THE DOOR."
I was shocked. Floored one might say. Flabbergasted even. It took me a minute to pick my jaw up off the table. What the hell does a "Mexican" fixing the door have to do with the smell. And do I care if said person fixing the door is in fact Mexican? And we are clearly a table of questionable whiteness.... Had the person fixing the door been white would we have heard that some white guy was doing the job. I am going to assume that the Mexican fixing the door was the cause of the acetone smell but that was never explicitly told to me.
My advice to anyone, anywhere is to know your audience. If the people in front of you are not your nationality please do not play a race card. Whether you realize it or not it is horrifying to the people in front of you and it will make for a story that will be told for months to come.
I took my hungry family here, and they all loved it. The place is large, and it was packed when we arrived. Regardless we were seated almost immediately. Our server was prompt, attentive, and helpful (in spite of the fact that he also had a table of eight people next to us).
The food - OMG the food is awesome. It ain't cheap, but it's really really good. We had a lot of fun reading the calorie counter menu and making jokes about heart attacks, and then we went and ordered this rich, heavy food and chowed down on it and enjoyed every bite.
This is a good place to stop in and have a nice relaxing dinner. Maybe bring ear muffs if you don't like it loud, and definitely bring a light and glasses if you're over forty because the lights are dim at night and the menu print is small.
But who cares when the food is this good! Yippee! Burp!
I'm definitely a fan of the Southcenter location. I have been here twice, and had great service and food both times. However, I have several friends who have had crappy service and food at other locations and absolutely loathe the Cheesecake Factory. I definitely am quite jaded toward huge chains like this, and I understand that food and service can be quite spotty at times, so I completely agree with the lower ratings here, though my rating for this location is positive.
The menu is a little huge, and that can be daunting if you've never been here before. I had quite a hard time making up my mind, and it was a little confusing to me how their menu varied from fusion Asian stuff to pasta to meatloaf. I think it makes it a little overwhelming. I really try not to take too long ordering, because I always get concerned that if you tell the server you need more time, they give you TOO much time.
I have tried the pasta here and it has been pretty decent. I had the farfalle with garlic and chicken. I usually get worried that I'm getting frozen food heated up, but I was actually quite pleased. The cheesecake is good, though quite rich. We split a piece, and that was more than enough. The only appetizer we have tried is the popcorn shrimp that is light and crispy in a tempura style batter. A tasty indulgence!
What do you get if you super-sized Applebee's, and put it in a large cheesy (ahem, pun intended) structure?
Yes! the Cheesecake Factory!
How does so little inspiration result in a 1" thick menu? I'll never know.
The soft warm wheat bread is good though.
The food is decent. Never had any problems, everything I've had has been fine, and the serving staff usually excellent - but this location is just WAY too crowded at peak times. And I have plenty of experience eating in LA, so I have been to some packed restaurants in my day! The location by my last apartment was always packed on weekends too, but not to this extent.
Case in point, I went last Friday put in my name for a longish wait and while attempting to go wait outside in the rain, I just about got DECKED due to some guy trying to get into the restaurant who swung his arm around violently to get the door for his lady. Knocked my glasses off and caused me to swear loudly. Thankfully no black eye developed.
Though I had pizza and drinks and cheesecake, and it was all tasty, if I hadn't been meeting friends and it been their pick, I would have eaten elsewhere based on the density of people.
Their food is good, but not good enough to tempt me to wade through another sea of reckless humanity for it in the future.
The joint is more like a foundry than a factory and it has to do with the portion size! We started with our usual inoculations against botulism. Pina Colada and a Pomegranate Mojito. Ordered up a nice guacamole dip that was supposedly spiced to hot but tasted devoid of all heat. After placing orders we took in the scenery. Lots of people, lots of tacky art deco, and oh....lots of people. It was a deafening roar and I had to ask and be asked to repeat parts of our conversations.
The service: Actually really good. The service was seamless and even though our current server went off shift there was a good change over and the new server never missed a beat. The food came out on time, well plated (for a factory) and it tasted good!
I had the Bang-Bang Chicken & Shrimp. It had a decent flavor but I longed for a bit more of a hit of curry as the dish promised. But other than that no complaints. The wife and son had a B.L.T. Salad and a Pulled B.B.Q Pork Sandwich, respectively. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal just fine but none of us were able to finish. What we noticed was the portions were extremely generous and to finish would seem a gluttonous affair.
Doggie bags all around the bill came with some damage but not anything out of the ordinary. I did tip well and genuinely thanked our server. He did an outstanding job for the venue. If you're looking to have food served up foundry style, let the Cheesecake Factory pour the industrial portions like a cement truck pouring a foundation. Plus you'll have tomorrows lunch ready to go in a cute little bag! Woof!
Dine smart.
If you enjoy the food at The Cheesecake Factory, do one of three things.
1. Arrive when they open Sunday mornings for brunch.
The Cheesecake Factory offers a great brunch menu Sundays only, and of course the regular menu is available. We arrived 5 minutes prior to opening, walked in with other early birds and enjoyed no wait, choice table, finished our meal and left as the herds started piling in the entry waiting area. This is an EXCELLENT time to go with large groups or young children.
2. Order take-out.
You've seen them while you were waiting for your dine-in table. Those folks who called ahead or stopped in, placed their order for some pasta, came in to the cheesecake counter and left with their food before you even made it to the top of the wait list. Most often, poor, inattentive service at any restaurant can ruin a meal of good food. Skip the risk on service and take-out! Get your dinner and go.
3. Order curbside.
Like take-out but a little more convenient. You can call ahead and not even leave your car! This is perfect if you have young children and its troublesome to take them in and out of car seats to enter a storefront for some takeout.
I love coming to the Cheesecake Factory with the girls. The service is great and the food is delicious every single time. I recommend the Louisiana Chicken Pasta with the Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. Goodness, the shortcake is way better than the cheesecake. The Pomegranate Martini is delicious as well :) Recommended for groups or dates. Good for absolutely any occasion.
Excellent desserts, but $3 drip coffee, c'mon!
We went to the Cheesecake Factory at Southcenter (Westfield Shoppingtown at Southcenter) in Tukwila today, but only for dessert and coffee drinks.
Quoted a 25 minute wait for a table, we almost turned-tail and left for a Starbucks. The 25 minute wait ended up being only 10-15 minutes.
The place was noisy and busy (but not as busy as I'd seen at DT Seattle and in Bellevue) but not loud enough to prevent from engaging in table conversation. Service was also just right.
The desserts, a collection of slices of cheesecake, fresh strawberries, and a mud pie cake, were all great and almost too large a serving to be enjoyable (the food has large servings too if I recall correctly)... but of course, it comes at a cost. For four adults, and two kids, I believe the bill was close to $60+ dollars. That's an expensive coffee date in my book. And as I mentioned earlier, the drip coffee was $3!
This was a special day, as we'd been spending time with relatives in-town for the holidays, but normally we wouldn't have done this. If the mall still had a Farrell's ice cream (gone since the 1980s), that'd be the place we likely would have gone to if it still existed.
Parking is free and generally plentiful -- there's a new garage built right next to the CF. Transit riders are generally marginalized around the Southcenter Mall as the stops are pretty far away to the east and there's a long walk to get to CF from there.
Bottom line: I'll probably come here again, but keep it for special occasions.
I love the Cheesecake Factory food & cheesecake. However, I am giving the South Center location only 2 stars because the service is horrible, and every time I go I have to deal with other people's screaming children! If you want to experience the Cheesecake Factory at is best, go to the downtown one. It's worth it.
It was the strangest thing.... We kept hearing in the background sounds of slot machines as if we were in Vegas. Then it switched to 'porn music' as my friend described it.
I've probably tried a quarter of their menu, which is a 10-page book but what I always gravitate back to is their Jambalaya! And when my friends tried it, it was a unanimous decision that will be their next order at Cheesecake!
Food is good but on the beer-meter, just ok b/c it was a little pricey
I have been to this location once, and it was my first time eating at the place. It was crowded and we had to wait probably 30 minutes before we got a table. That's was the good part of the evening.
We get seated and take a look at the menu, it looked okay, some good things, but I didn't feel overwhelmed with great choices. We took probably 10 minutes to decide what we wanted but then had to wait at least 20 minutes before our order was taken. When we finally put our order in we started talking amongst ourselves just having a good time. Nearly 30 minutes after we put our order in the waiter comes back and asks what I ordered again, I tell her. Twenty minutes after that they bring out food out, keep in mind this is nearly 60 minutes after we sat down, and 30 since we ordered. They bring three meals out and my two friends meals are just as the order. Mine... not even close, I ordered a sandwich and it was some sort of pasta. They take it back and say they will get what I ordered. My friends start eating and at this point I haven't eaten all day so I am sharing the food they got. Without stretching the truth, 45 minutes after they brought my friends food I get my food. Nearly two hours after ordering I get my sandwich. It takes another 30 minutes to get our cheesecake. We are going on about 3 hours since we sat down, I have seen the table behind us sit down, get their food, eat, and leave... twice...
This was by far the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant. The food I ordered was okay but my friends food was better. I will go back because I do believe they have some delicious options, but they will know I will not accept a repeat performance.
Meh... It's hard for me to saying anything too bad about the Cheesecake factory, but at the same time, it's hard for me to say anything good either.
Food and service is pretty average w/ exception of their deserts which are pretty tasty.
The lamest thing about the Cheese Factory is the fact that they have advertisements on their menu...I mean, come' on Cheesecake factory, aren't you already make enough $$$ on the over priced food?
Delicious as usual. Same great service as all other Cheesecakes. I always order the perfectly made Louisiana pasta.
I gave the downtown Cheesecake Factory 4 stars, but this one only 3. The food was good, the service was great... but the location? Well not the location exactly but the inside of the building, I didn't care for as much. The downtown Factory is intimate... where as this one is too wide open and not as cozy. It was just like rows and rows of seating.
Oh, and our server seemed a little robotic, but she still did a good job.
Be wary of going around noon or 1pm. We got there early, but by the time we left, the wait was ridiculous.
I just went to this Cheesecake Factory and all I have to say is "yuck". All of us in our group of 5 ate the food only because we had to pay for it, and we were hungry. Why is this place packed? My Luau salad (minus the chicken - it's unfortunate being a vegetarian sometimes) was super sweet and the macadamia nuts were an odd addition. The fried wontons were almost the size of the plate and there were TWO of them. I thought I was ordering a salad?! The lettuce to wonton ratio was wack. My sister's thai chicken salad was mostly white frizzled air piled in a birdsnest on top. Plus, the lettuce was limp like it had been soaking in dressing all day long. My niece's macaroni & cheese - while good in a way where you feel guilty eating it, therefore making it bad - was oozing with orange cheese grease. The green beans we got as a side dish were smothered in black pepper making them impossible for a child to consume... and they really could have been cooked a tad more.
We considering getting a slice of cheesecake since that's their specialty, but felt like we'd wasted enough calories on the evening already. I give them 2 stars only because our waitress was super nice!
Oh - and phone book sized menus are not a good thing. Less is more people, less is more...
i have a love hate relationship with this restaurant. i've been here a couple of times and sometimes the service is good, sometimes it isn't. with that said, this place is ok. the food are huge in portions, the menu is what i could say, jack of all trades. being jack of all trades, you tend to know a lot of things, but not be really good at anything. the menu has a lot of items, it's almost like reading war and peace with colorful ads from nearby businesses, hah hah; but the quality is just ok, not really horrible, but not really good either, i've had better. the service here can be good, but a couple of times, it's subpar. they tend to forget you if you don't order right away and also after they set your meal in front of you; instead of the phrase dine and dash, the service here can be summed up as serve and dash. the ambiance is nice, a little too dark for me though, trying to make a more romantic mood, but being how noisy it is here, it kind of extinguishes the mood. the high ceilings and contemporary-traditional style is very pleasing. the best thing i have eaten here is the chicken marsala, sweet and flavorful and huge. i try to order light here or enter starving so i can have room for dessert, which is great; after all, you can't call yourself cheesecake factory without having a good cheesecake in my opinion. this location is right outside the southcenter mall, so there is a parking lot and garage, however, for some reason, a gazillion people always eat at olive garden and this place, which makes it hard to find parking and requires you to wait awhile for a table at both places. this place is good, but not great, it tries to do too much and doesn't really do things well, but at least a sweet ending to this meal is always available.
I went here out of desperation. After 10PM, everything was closed. I was hungry, and I don't eat fast food. The food here is the same standard fare as any other Cheesecake Factory (that's why they're a chain, because of consistency), so normally they would get three stars because it's average. But my chicken taquitos were cold by the time that I took them back. And I was only 15 minutes away, so it means that it wasn't hot enough to begin with. Melted cheese that has solidified is the worst. And it's not like sex, where even if it's bad, it's kind of good. No, it kinda sucked.
The outside of this restaurant was very cute. hahah, It looks smaller than any other Cheesecake Factory I've been to.
The Parking was GREAT! You have a qutie a few spots around the restauarant, but you also have the option to park on the Southcenter Mall parking lot. Very convenient
Me and my friend went on a Monday night, and it was super busy. That was expected, because the restaurant just opened 3 days earlier
The service was good. Not great. There was like 3 people attending to us, which was kind of awkard.
I got the Luau Salad. For some reason, it tasted better when i took a bite from my friends salad back at Bellevue's Cheesecake factory. However, as i type thisk review, I'm eating the leftovers. LOL, it tastes better the second time around. The strawberry lemonade i got was great the first time around, however the second time around was disgustingly sweet. Me and my friend got the Banana Cream Cheesecake and the White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle cheesecake....HEAVENLY... gahhh
Other than the inconsistent food, I could always count on the cheesecake being really good..
I was debating whether i should give 3 or 4 stars. I picked 3 because of the price compared to how good all my food was that day.
yeah, ok. it's the cheesecake factory. just like all the rest of 'em. i do like the salads and roasted artichoke, and evelyn's pasta is good. but come on - even the salads are 600 calories...with the "low-cal" dressing! i pretty much only come here when i'm close by and hungry because they do have a variety of veg options. but now that there's bj's i probably won't set foot in here again unless my family is visiting and requests it.
Okay, so I am not normally a fan of the Franchise monster restaurants, so please please please don't let that invalidate me right off the bat.
I had too try this place out since it was not that far away and because it was new. I was Highly amazed at the menu and the amount of options there were. Everything from a northwest flair to southern feel to eastern taste. Their corporate chefs are earning their bucks that's for sure.
I might also add that if you are planning on stopping by, go outside of 'normal dinner hours'. The wait will be really bad. Yes the hostess will always tell you 15 minutes but come on people... that almost never happens.
I need to make specific recommendations here... they were that good! Try the Veggie spring roll with the avocado and this sweet nutty sauce was amazing and enough for 4 people. I had the a chicken dish... which for me is a bit odd since I like to try things I can't make myself, but this was the one listed as "most popular chicken dish" and I can see why!! With a sweet and savory sauce, asparagus, cheese and mashed potatoes... you might need to get your tush into the gym after this one.
Of course we saved room for cheese cake and took some left-overs home but splitting a piece of the seasonal pumpkin cheesecake was sounding pretty good. I could have done with out the 2 cups of whipped cream the piled on the plate but with something like 30 options to choose from there is something for everyone... even if you don't like cheesecake.
All of this came to less than $50 for a three course dinner! Not too shabby.
The appetizers were exceptional. Made better then at any other location. We came in a group of 8 so gratuity was included. The server was awful and its unfortunate because it ruined my experience there. Everything that he could have done wrong he did.... Of course that may not be the case with everyone that works there!
Give me a break, are still frequenting cookie cutter chains in this town with so many better options?
YOU MADE IT WAY TO SMALL YOU STUPID FUCKS! Only go there if you want to wait over an hour for a table at all times.
