Review Highlights
I love the CF. Anyone who think it's just standard bland chain garb is missing the point. NOTHING is standard, when a restaurant offers such an extensive menu, and everything comes out tasting awesome. I just don't know how they do it...
Yeah, the brown bread kicks ass. Their menu is so extensive. My fiance and I always seem to get similar things.
For Appetizers (or we get two for dinner), we love these:
5/5 Buffalo Blasts: Crispy, fried delicisousness
5/5 Avocado Eggrolls: Great dipping sauce
4/5 Buffalo Wings: Yummy
4/5 Factory Nachos: A mountain
3/5 Spinach and Cheese Dip: Not too far off from what you'd imagine it to be, but still really good.
Salads we enjoy include the:
5/5 Chinese Chicken Salad: my favorite
5/5 Santa Fe Salad: crispy, crunchy and refreshing
4/5 Grilled Chicken Tostada Salad: Nice tortilla on the bottom
Entrees that we like (although we don't usually eat them) include:
4/5 Lemon Herb Chicken
3/5 Meatloaf: probably my least favorite of all these dishes.
Cheesecakes:
5/5 The Oreo one... yum
5/5 The Pumpkin and Pecan one was very, very good
4/5 The Key Lime was surprisingly good... I'm not a huge fan of Key Lime
2/5 Adams Peanut Butter Cup Fudge isnt so great.
The margaritas are strong, thank god. I always have a great time here.
Overall, this place is all hype. There are positives, they have a nice restaurant aesthetically and the service is pretty good. The drinks are good and the drink selection is great. The cheesecake is amazing (and overpriced).
But the food sucks. There I said it. The food is bland, chain restaurant garb. There are a few menu items that are delicious, but less than a handful on a menu with what feels like a million options meet this status. In fact, that is the exact problem with this place. You can't be good at Everything. Keep what you're good at and get rid of the rest (ie 85% of your menu). Then you'll get 5 stars.
bread. cheesecake factory has the best bread (and i mean both the brown bread & the white bread).
there is so much to choose from as their menu is extensive. the meals i've had have always been good. e.g. the chicken madeira, the 4 cheese pasta, the steak diane & shrimp, & most recently the bang-bang chicken & shrimp.
so...what's the best thing to come from CF? the strawberry lemonades and the dulce de leche cheesecake!!!!!
Yummmmmmmm.
Aside from the soggy noodle in my father-in-law's Coke, this place is great! (As long as it's not a bug or creature of some sort, I usually can get over "oopsies" like this)
My sister-in-law and I shared the Spicy Chicken Chipotle Pasta (There's no way I can eat an entire entree by my lonesome!) and my husband and his dad shared the Fettucine Alfredo with Shrimp and Chicken. Perfection.
Both entrees were great. The chipotle pasta was nice and spicy but not overbearing. The fettucine also had a terrific flavor.
OH, wait! We had the avocado eggrolls as an appetizer. SO good. At first, I thought- Hmmm, warm avocados, that's going to be weird - But, NO! They were very good.
We topped off our gluttonous meal with a slice of heaven. Or, vanilla bean cheesecake - another menu item that I can't finish by myself.
Good times. I guess the only "bad" thing about the experience would be how full you feel about ten minutes later. (EVEN when you share plates! Their portions are ridiculous!)
I really enjoy going to the Cheesecake Factory!
I love the fact that they have a large variety of dishes and an extensive menu. The Cheesecake Factory is always filled with people talking, laughing, and enjoying a great meal with friends and family. If you don't like loud places or you're not in the mood to hear people all around, don't even bother going to the Cheesecake factory.
I organized a small farewell dinner for an intern who is going back home, to Europe. It was a total of 10 of us, which usually tells me something will go wrong some how... Luckily for us everything went without a hitch.
I ordered a cosmopolitan cocktail which besides the price it was perfect, refreshing and chilled as it should be. Everyone's meal came out at the same time and each person was very pleased with their dish. I usually order the chicken Madeira (My Favorite) but last night I ordered the chicken Marcel, which was also very good. It never fails with Cheesecake Factory, one plate is enough for two and every dish is always enjoyable. After our meals our server brought out dessert, yum. She was kind enough to bring out an extra cheesecake decorated with a candle and chocolate writing on the plate that read "Farewell". This was a thoughtful touch and added the closing to a wonderful night with friends.
We come here about once a month, and the service and food are always consistently good. Especially for a place with such a huge and extensive menu, where most items are good.
Last night my wife tried one of the new menu items, the tomato-basil pasta, and it was really good. It was light and fresh, and the grilled chicken was tasty, too.
Try the pomegranate Mojito, it's excellent!
I've come to this particular location a countless number of times throughout the years. As with any restaurant you've been to many, many times, the service, wait times, and food may vary. But the overwhelming majority of my dining experiences here have been above average.
One particular draw for me is the varied menu which will satisfy all kinds of cravings. There is really something for everyone here. While obviously not authentic, you can come here for Asian, Italian, American, whatever. I can't even begin to list all the food I've eaten and loved here, but I'll put in some of my favorites: Thai Lettuce wraps with three different sauces, Fish Tacos, Chicken Madeira...mmmmmmmm.
Yesterday, I ordered their "Weight Management Chicken" which is a good portion of thinly pounded grilled chicken breast served over a (small) bed of white rice, arugula & tomatoes dressed in a bit of balsamic vinaigrette. This has been my go-to dish for some time now when I'm looking for something on the healthier side.
I also love their brunch, particularly the California Omelet (avocado, garlic, shallots, cheese), and their Belgian Waffles with fresh strawberries and cream.
Oh and we shouldn't forget the cheesecake!! Godiva Chocolate, tuxedo, white chocolate macadamia nut are some of my faves.
To sum it up, it's pretty good for a chain restaurant. The food is tasty, portions are big (except I remember they used to be bigger, if my memory is correct) and I know I'll be back here.
I hadn't been to this location in over a year. The last time I went, the food was not good at all, the service was awful and I stopped going. I returned recently to indulge a friend from out of town. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the food was pretty good. It's not the most amazing food ever, but they do a good job. I had the Thai Chicken lettuce wraps. It's an appetizer, but it's so large that you can actually make a meal out of it and still have room for dessert. Other times when I've ordered pasta or some other entree, I just can't even think about having dessert. Our server was very pleasant and made sure we had everything we needed without being pushy. Food was fresh and tasty. Cheesecake was sinful, but a little too sweet if you eat the whole thing.
Dislike: Portions are obscenely large. Sometimes the wait for a table is ridiculous.
Like: Desserts are on display so you can actually see what appeals to you the most. Bread basket is awesome..warm and freshly baked. Iced tea is a passionfruit blend (unsweetened), very fruity and refreshing.
Price: In my opinion, it feels like the prices are a little bit high, almost as if they're justifying the humongous portion, which could easily feed 2 people. So it does annoy me because 1. You're not always in the mood to share with someone (maybe you want different things). 2. It's too easy to stuff yourself. 3. Either you take it home, or it goes to waste.
I've been here.
It's OK for being a nationally recognized restaurant. The service is usually good and the food is better than most.
I wouldn't classify "The CheeseCake Factory" as a "dining experience" but I would definitely drop by the place if I'm hungry and looking for a drink.
Prices are OK. They are not super cheap but also not the most expensive place you can go.
Overall this is just a generic national restaurant located inside a mall. It's not bad... But it sure as hell is not fantastic.
Ah the cheescake factory, my solid back up for a decent place to go to celebrate a [insert random thing to celebrate here].
The one thing i can say about this place is come hungry! The portions are huge! and if you come at lunch you might be able to get the lunch special. The lunch special is described as a lunch portion for a lunch price.. but my insiders tell me its the same dinner portion for just the lunch price. Good buy! For almost all of their dishes you can split with some one, if not plan to take home some of it. I love food but ive never been able to finish one of their dishes by myself. You really need to go with a "how hungry am i?" plan when you go here. My food-game plan? i plan on just meal and cheesecake and i take home half of each.
If you like green tea they have a sweet green tea you can get, it comes with mint, so if you can do with out the mint, make sure to ask.
Ah the Cheesecake.... i have gone time and time again and the one rule is everyone orders a different cheesecake. I have been there more times than i can count and i still have not tried them all. Cookie dough, tuxedo, brownie sundae, banana, vanilla bean are some of my favorite regulars. Tip: Always ask if there is something not on the menu, a lot of times the servers forget to mention they have seasonal specials that are just delish. Some seasonal faves that i have enjoyed include a white chocolate blueberry, and pistachio. YUM!
Some ppl think its pricey, i think its fine for the service and food you get. If i dont come up with a plan for my birthday soon ill probably have this place as my back up. Yay cheescake!
oh side note: they have pick up so if your just passing by and dont want to eat in.. it may be an option. Also ive heard delivery is available through 3rd party delivery services in the area. UM students love that idea. hehe
I dont get why everyone raves about this place... The waitress we had was nice enough... But between the long wait and mediocre, overpriced food, so not worth it. I find little to recommend here. The menu is unweildy. They dont even know what cuisine they're about. I think this must be made for middle America where they dont have independently owned international restaurants.
We're in Miami... Skip it and go to a real restaurant... (ok, the desserts are pretty darn good!... grab a piece of chocolate cake for take out).
I really love this restaurant. My boyfriend says all the plates are good but not great, but I don't care, I just LOVE it!
Out of all the things they have on the menu, we always get the avocado rolls, which is, honestly one of the best dishes I've ever had. The avocados are SO good and the salsa they serve with it is AMAZING!
I love the brown bread they serve. It's so rich and the butter just melts into it. YUMMY!
I always get the mango daquiri, which is awesome. Sometimes I'll have the 22 oz Blue Moon, but only sometimes.
Also, they have a Jamaican chicken and shrimp dish that is absolutely incredible! I have never tasted all those flavors combined in that way at any other restaurant.
And, last but not least, the cheesecake. HEAVEN!! We always get the strawberry cheescake because we can't decide on any other (I don't like chocolate, he LOVES chocolate. Complicated, eh?).
And, the service is always outstanding. Never, never had I had an issue with the service.
I cannot say anything negative about this place, except that I have to agree with my boyfriend: even though I love said dishes, I only really like the rest of the menu. I've had better food elsewhere. Still, I loves me my Cheesecake Factory!
This is my favorite restaurant so I have to say, its AMAZING!
The food is great, especially the pasta! There is more than likely always going to be a wait, and they don't take reservations. I think some of them do take call-ahead seating, though. The waiters are for the most part really nice. Most of the waiters seem to be out of state college students looking for a job. The last time I went I had the Parmesian Crusted Chicken which was delicious. I've also had the Four Cheese Pasta which is also amazing! The portions are very big, just as in most of Italian restaurants, you can share it between two people and be more than full.
The dessert...
If you go to Cheesecake Factory and didn't have a cheesecake... you went for nothing! The Cheesecakes are spectacular!!! Everytime I've gone I've tried a different one and till this day I have yet to find one I didn't like!
I come home from Cheesecake with the best leftovers.
These days I'm feeling even more, if it was possible, like the sad-broke college student that I am, and Cheesecake gives you tons of really good food that you can take home later and it is a little pricey sometimes but totally decent. And the cheesecake, every time, is really everything it's cracked up to be.
This past time I went, I got the jambalaya. It really is perfectly spiced. I went with three other friends, and we split the guacamole, which for ten dollars is just avocados and tomatoes and salt and pepper. They give you a ton of tortilla chips...this sort of "bigger is better" concept applies to the soda glasses too, cuz why are they so big? But I love it. Service was also really good.
Two of my friends had the shepherd's pie. Mixed reviews: N is this tiny skinny New York boy who never ever eats. In the three years we've been friends, I kid you not, I have never seen him finish a meal. Much to everyone's surprise, N ate the whole thing! He said it was amazing and comfort food and even then he ordered the tiramisu cheesecake (which he ate two bites of. go figure.)
The other friend who had the shepherd's pie took a couple of bites and then took the rest home to her roommate. She had the strawberry cheesecake which is good...but it was plain cheesecake with literally three strawberries on it.
C had an avocado chicken club (big, with fresh avocado, but otherwise nothing special) and the chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake. Devoured both, and I got to try her cheesecake, which was super chocolatey and delicious.
I had the banana cheesecake, and it's now replaced white chocolate raspberry truffle and the carmel macadamia nut white chocolate cheesecake as a favorite.
Everything came out really fast (I have no idea how they do it) but the wait at the Dadeland one is always silly on a busy night...but you're at a mall, so you can go powershop at Zara while you wait. Good stuff.
Five stars, mostly because every time I eat there, I leave thinking I never want to eat again, and then the very next day, I want to go back. I can't, though, or I'd get broke and huge...but it's okay, cuz I got leftovers.
Oversized portions, is the first thing I have to say. You can get away with ordering one plate for two people. The whole wheat appetizer bread is AMAZING. So you are left with trying to leave space for dessert if you ordered an entree for yourself. Plus the fact that you have to have an appetizer. Best way to solve this conundrum, bring plenty of back up ! Bring hungry folk and chow down.
Began with the crispy crab wontons, Fresh Crabmeat Blended with
Cream Cheese, Green Onion, Water Chestnuts and Sweet Chili Sauce, they were awesome. Followed by chicken and biscuits, Breast of Chicken Served over Mashed Potatoes with Shortcake Biscuits, Mushrooms, Peas and Carrots. Covered with Country Gravy. I could not finish my plate. Might be due to the fact that I stuffed my face with bread before the appetizers got there... Needless to say I didn't have cheesecake.
Lesson learned split an entree if you want to make it to dessert.
Been here many times. It is very consistent with all the other Cheesecake Factory locations. This is one of my favorite restaurant chains serving good food, large quantity at a good price. Good service and they have an incredible selection of cheesecakes and cakes. I tend to get the cakes rather than cheesecakes as I feel the cakes bring more for the same price. If you like this but want something slightly more up scale, you can try Grand Lux Cafe.
OK lets start with this... If you are going on any given weekend night you will have to wait for a while but its worth the wait! What i like the most from here is the Cheesecake and the Mojitos they do a very good job on the drinks all together.
The Food is very good portions can feed 2 people they are very big but very good I recommend The Chicken Crusted Romano or the Chicken Marcella to very good meals! For dessert if you have any room left I would recommend the Godavia Chocolate Cheesecake its to die for!
I discovered the Cheesecake Factory back in So Cal in Redondo Beach, almost 20 years ago - fast forward to South Florida 2008 and the trip down memory lane reveals an unfortunate downward slide-
They are still pretty good and the portions are still more than what we really need to eat in a couple of days - One full portion of any entree in CF will pack enough calories for 2 or 3 days according the recommended daily allowance from the FDA - Specifically, I think the place can use some brightening up it is a bit dark - the service tends to be decent, with the occasional disdainful waiter especially when they get busy but overall OK.
Actually I am in their "secret shopper" program and they usually send me to evaluate this restaurant - They consistently get good marks on cleanliness and service, but the most important thing is that they (Cheesecake Factory) cares enough about their service and menu to do these kinds of spot checks.
The Balance is positive but there can really be too much of a good thing.
Try their Pumpkin Cheesecakes in the fall - they are hands down the best.
The Sunday Brunch is the really the best thing they do.
Their french toast (really french toast on crack) is the best I've ever had.
Plain, or with the strawberries and pecans and Chantilly Cream.
(It was even better when it was walnuts and bananas and warm apple pieces that they put on top)
I'm actually not a huge fan of the cheesecake. Too thick for me. I like a lighter cheesecake.
The dinner menu is good, but the portions are ridiculous and I just don't see the point of that. Come with lots of people.
There's an old song by The Byrds Turn, Turn, Turn that says there is a season for everything and a reason for every time. And so I must say there is a reason for the popularity of places like The Cheesecake Factory.
Yes, it's a chain, but it tends to give people what they're looking for especially people who don't have the time, money, and energy to constantly search out the hottest, hippest new restaurants or maybe just want to rely on an old familiar standby.
And so for the size of their menu, their prices, their service, and their food. People should maybe look at the positive, the glass is half empty, the cheesecake portion is twice the usual size and sometimes it's ok to head to chain and enjoy a meal.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, however, let me warn you that the place is usually pretty packed and there is always a wait. Having said that I will also say that the wait is worth it. The food portions are what I call oversize, two can usually eat an entree.
Today I went there for lunch, and after the usual wait got to enjoy a great Portabella sandwich. I will also recommend the Pasta Bolognese and the Chicken Marsala. Another good thing about this place is that you can usually go home with some pretty good leftovers. As far as the service, I must say that even though they are busy the are pretty prompt and accommodating, you just have to ask nice.
The Cheesecake factory is so overrated. Why do people insist on coming here on special occasions?
There isn't anything "special" about this restaurant.
So your portobello mushroom burgers are good, so what? I can make them at home for 1/2 the price and twice the flavor.
and please... stop contributing to the obesity problem we have in America.
The food here is pretty good and the servers are usually very good and professional. I have eaten here many times and have only had one bad experience where the waitress completely forgot about us. Other than that, the service has been good. I completely agree with the other reviews that the portions are much too large. I usually get an appetizer or a salad and that's plenty of food. Either that or share.
Their coffee is very good but they charge a lot for it, I think. Their desserts are very rich. The pumpkin cheesecake available in the fall is really yummy.
The crowds and the waiting time to be seated are ridiculous at times. There are many times that I look at the crowds and go someplace else to eat. I hate waiting for food, no matter how good it is.
I have to give it four stars based on my one experience at Dadeland's Cheesecake Factory.
Service: BAD BAD BAD. Miami BAD.
Food: Better than the Grand Lux Cafe I've had in Houston, so I would give it 3 stars. Maybe 4.
Price: TOO HIGH! But for some, it's alright. For me, the prices doesn't really justify it.
What did I get? 2 appetizers. Yup, that's it.
Calamari was good, and with the free bread I received, I made a New Orleans style calamari po-boy out of what I got. :-D
The chicken quesadillas were good as well.
EDITED*** (2nd visit) Best appetizer so far are the avocado rolls!
Dessert: I got the cheesecake with rasberry and chocolate. That was good, although it may be a tad bit too sweet. But hey, it's a dessert!
I probably wouldn't hesistate coming back, but only if someone else wants to go. I would only come here for the appetizers and the apple dumplings (with ice cream please!)
I love Cheesecake Factory! The food is good and the portions are pretty big. I always have a good time here. They have a variety of foods for basically every taste and the service is good all the time. The only negative part about this restaurant is the wait time, it tends to be pretty long and they don't accept reservations.
This is my local Cheesecake Factory and, for good or evil, I have to say that it performs well for what this chain delivers:
1. Diverse range of food. It's the only restaurant I know whose big menu doesn't translate into sub-par offerings. I know that their Italian pasta dishes will be pretty decent along with their Tex-Mex, Southern, Asian dishes.
2. They are open relatively late, ya. Till 12:30AM, Friday-Saturday! In the Dadeland area! If I am too lazy to venture far, this place will do when I have some free money to spend, especially for luxe take-out. In the Gables/S.Miami corridor, the only things that late that are open are Dennys and TGI Fridays (yech). Hey, who wants some pasta carbonara or chicken-biscuits with some cheesecake to go? Hells yeah.
3. The wait staff are no worse then the service you'd get at Miami Beach, in fact, I think they are not that bad, perfunctorary, and look, the long waits are because it's CHEESECAKE FACTORY! There's a reason for the long waits, they do decent grub -- anywhere in Miami on a weekend night, you're going to have to wait for service anyway.
So OVERRATED! Long waits, mediocre food, and middling service. Why do people so love this place? Is it really all about the monster portions? I really don't get it. Yes, I'm using this same review for the Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Sawgrass Mills, and Coconut Grove locations. They are all the same.
I went there the other day and the 4 cheese pasta w/chicken was soooo good! This place is great. The bread is good and the cheesecakes are delicious. The server was good too.
