5 reviews for The Cat Clinic of Orange County
I have nothing but great things to say about this facility. My boyfriend and I took our cat to this clinic without an appointment. They were more than accomodating, squeezing us in between their appointments and various emergencies.
The staff was knowledgeable and considerate as was the doctor. The facility was very clean and cat-friendly. Our cat is on his way to feeling better thanks to the staff at the Cat Clinic.
This is a very nice facility, it is large, upscale and modern. The entire staff is very nice and helpful.
Our first cat was older when we started going there and she was very mean to strangers and I think she was always handled with care.
And I agree with the other reviewer, there are many vets who seem more canine oriented and cats feel like an afterthought.
They have "cat condos" are 1 or 2 story little condos with little beds and so forth if you need to put your cats in a kennel. (Much better than dropping them off in a vet's office with barking dogs all day!)
I tried the Irvine Vets on University on the advice of guy who sold me the cat and Corona del Mar Animal Hospital on the advice of a friend/coworker before running to the Cat Clinic. They both struck me as either not particularly cat friendly or downright dog oriented, but the Cat Clinic was downright eerie (in that "crazy cat lady" sense) in their love of cats!
The Cat Clinic was great for my little guy. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, and the vet seemed to really care about getting him healthy. They checked him very thoroughly, looking at places on his body that the other two had neglected. The doctor (I forget her name) listened to my concerns and checked them out and was always available on the phone to answer questions. The vet assistants seemed to really care about my cat, telling me stories when I came to pick him up about how cute he was acting.
I brought him back to be fixed, and they ran all sorts of tests and found out that his heart is too big. I was really impressed with how they handled it. Maybe it was for increased billing (I hope not!) but they ran more tests and had a cat cardiologist examine the x-rays and test results before they would proceed. They called me at every step of the way, both to make sure I would approve the extra tests ($$) and to keep me updated. They never failed to call when they promised, which was key while I was worried about my cat. Besides, they really seemed to have alot of resources on hand which were helpful in this emergency.
They also seem to have better boarding options than most places...but it's still just a kennel, so I would never do that to my cat, who likes to run around.
I'm never taking him anywhere else.
I take my 3 cats here and my mom has always taken her kids here, and they are fantastic! Dr Steinberg and Dr Wright (also known as Dr Kelly) are amazing. They have been so good to us. I trust them with my babies completely, which is saying a lot cuz Im a crazy cat parent. Over any vet in the area, this is the place to go.
I work in the pet industry and have heard many not-so-good things about many of the local vets, but I have NEVER heard anything bad about them. Highly recommended. :)
I've been using the Cat Clinic for several years now for my two cats (barring the couple of years that I lived up in LA). The staff there is very helpful and friendly, and Dr. Steinberg is knowledgeable and kind. When my one cat almost died from fatty liver disease a couple of years ago, she and the staff worked tirelessly to save her, and it was through their efforts that my kitty was saved.
Yes, the clinic is probably a tad more expensive than some other vets, but I personally think it's worth it for the quality of care that you receive. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
