Nice patio that somehow has the ability to slow down you and your dog's time... what's not to like about this place?
I was craving for some English breakfast since it has been a while. The last one was at Fox and Hounds while watching some soccer slightly hungover. I wanted to be filled to the rim with bangers and this place really hit it bloody hard. Oh and they also have great bloody marys with pickled peas along with lime and olives. Plus they have a doggy treat menu!
I would definitely recommend this place! -

I LOVE this place. When I lived in LA, this was one of my regular haunts. This is more of a "locals" place. It's more low-key and mellow. A fish and chips pub, with a large outdoor courtyard strung with white Christmas lights, serving delicious Pear cider, yummy appetizers as many as the stars, beautiful people and normal people, polite waitstaff, and fattening food-along with human beings actually eating it- if you didn't like this place in Hollywood; then I knew we could not be friends. Meaning, if you couldn't drink beer or eat occasional yummy food without losing your mind; lose my number.
This is such a normal, fun place. I really, really miss this place. Yes, there are stars here, but it's not disgusting Hollywood-y. It's dressed-down. It's really nice. You can feel a little sad or mellow, and the cheery faces will cheer you right up. Maybe where everybody knows your name? This bar is like that. Stop me, I'm gonna cry. Everyone I know in LA feels like this about this bar, except this one girl, and she's a total beyotch who doesn't like anything.
You can get quick, friendly valet parking here, or, you can risk trying to find street parking, but it's not easy.
There are so few things in life you can really count on. This place is like a nice shoulder or a friendly face. It is a nice good dang quality place. Yes it is. -

I AM a fan of this place.
I was in LA last week for the first time in far too long, and met up with some friends of mine here for a lunch/happy hour shindig and it was well worth it. Apparently during happy hour, all the appetizers are half price. This of course caused the 4 of us to buy almost everything on the menu, some of them twice! All the stuff we got was good, scotch egg, baguette pizza thingy, chicken skewers with peanut sauce...everything was great.
We sat outside and enjoyed the perfection known as LA weather.Great to catch up with my good friends and chillax for a bit before the crazyness of Coachella (which was why i was in the west side in the first place), so I really liked this spot. It's also strategically places right by a bunch of really cool bars, so the locale is brilliant. -

While driving down Sunset blvd, my husband and I caught the Cat and Fiddle from the the corner of our eyes. As we both looked at each other and yelled "fish and chips!" we immediately pulled over to check this place out after always passing by it numerous times before.
Luckily, we found street parking at 8pm on a Thursday night (remember no parking at all from 4-7pm on this street) but there's also complimentary valet through a small driveway to the right of the building.
The Cat and Fiddle is located in a very old villa-style structure that was constructed sometime in the 1920's. There's a lovely patio in front, which seems great on a warm summer L.A. night. But since it was a cold April evening after a storm, we opted to dine inside.
The decor and ambiance is definitely fitting with the football banners hanging next to the bar, darts in the back and a small banquet area to the side with all the fixings of a British Hall. That night they seemed to be playing a lot of my favorite 90s-00s British rock tunes, with a little Clash mixed in, so i definitely liked that.
I ordered the Fish and Chips, of course, and my husband got the Bangers and Mash with a pint of Bass on tap. Both dishes came out quickly and both were delicious. Fish was cooked nicely and the crisp was perfect, not to mention the tartar sauce was delicious. I liked the Bangers and Mash a little better, only because the sausage was suuuperrr delicious! Mashed potatoes and gravy were on point too.
I guess the negative reviews were just for the bar-ish nightlife, which maybe i'll check out one day, but for now, I think i'm good with the restaurant aspect of this place. -

This place was down the street from our hotel so we decided to give it a try.
Setting was really nice. Set back off the street with a nice front garden. There was outdoor seating in this area and it looked quite inviting even though we were there on the one day it rained that month so noone was partaking.
I had a salmon dish and it was delicious. I'm incredibly self absorbed, so I can't remember what anyone else had, but I tasted my husband's pumpkin soup and it was so good I ordered my own. -

Great little patio! Service can sometimes be hit or miss...I just think the servers get spread thin sometimes. Jazz on Sunday afternoons on the patio is good for the soul.

I love this place. Walked in by myself looking for my friend ( something I almost always have a panic attack over having to do anywhere) and instantly felt at home, even when a group of men swarmed to hit on me. I was able to gracefully bow away from their advances without them being too pushy, which is not something you can say for a lot of places in LA.
My friend had a glass of red wine waiting for me, per my request and it was wonderful.
It's certainly an older crowd than I'm used to, but it was cozy, clean, non-trashy, and the people that work there are super nice. The heat lamps were great, so it wasn't freezing on the patio, which is spacious. It wasn't loud, just right.
Will of course be back. -

I had heard a lot about this place for some time, but never made it out to see what all the buzz was about till recently when I was invited to a wrap party that was being held there. So I went with a couple of friends, and Ive gotta say, I really do like place, especially the outdoor area. But, and theres always a but...
The music is waaaaay too loud. I dont know how bars and restaurants these days expect their clientele to hear each other when theyre blasting music louder than if the band was in the room with us. Even outside it was still pretty loud, and that was just what was coming at us from inside.
The bar its self is super crowded, and this is another thing that boggles my mind about. Bars dont have a place to order from. If people are sitting at the bar, you cant approach the bar to order. Whats that about? So theres this crowd behind all these people that are seated at the bar chatting it up and ignoring the fact that a ton of people behind them are trying to get in there and order a drink. Seems counter intuitive from a business sense. Let's make it hard for our customers to get what they came here for, therefore decreasing our profits!
Stamps. I dont like it when a bar stamps my hand. What can I say?
Other than that, the prices arent the worst in the world, and theres an ok selection of beer on tap. Didnt try the food.
All in all, it wasnt a horrible experience, but I dont see a whole lot to draw me to this place other than being able to sit outside away from the music. But I dont think this would be my first choice when choosing a pub to go to. -

I really like this spot. It's a cute place... nice outdoor seating in a garden atmosphere. The inside is hardwood floor and nice comfortable wooden booths.
The food here is pretty darn good if you like irish food, stews, sausage, pub food.
We started with a scotch egg... so good! And I love their bangers and mash.. yum!
They have a pretty great drink selection as well.
Parking can be a pain... but you'll be sure to find something on the street -

The Cat and Fiddle is one of my favorite LA bars - perhaps because there's a British flag draping over it, and there are British-inspired cocktails. Can you tell I'm a bit obsessed with England?
The first time I went there, I got the Mary Poppins cocktail with champagne and mint leaves. I wish they'd serve it again because it was delicious. I also went to C&F for brunch and ordered the lemon crepes with fruit and a mimosa. Definitely have brunch here if you ever have the chance!Listed in: Favorite LA Bars

The food was okay. We got the Macaroni & Cheese and Fish & Chips and everything was mediocre. What I did like about this place though was its spacious outdoor patio area. It's romantic and charming- it seems straight out of a classic Spanish fairytale. It's also dog friendly so it seems a perfect venue for weekend brunches.
The chocolate martini was delicious. Other than that, the indoor "pub" seemed like any other. I am not too fond of "(Irish) pub" style venues, and it was just that. except that it's British. (with Spanish decor). confusing. -

One of my favorite bars in Hollywood!
Major Perks: The ambiance is absolutely gorgeous; whenever I'm in the courtyard I feel as if I'm in some corner cafe outside of the country. It's prettiest at night and the heaters make it bearable at any time of year. The inside decor is pretty spiffy too.
The food is good: I'd recommend the mac 'n' cheese, mousse, any sandwich, and make sure to try the fries! They're like a thicker, fresher tasting version of In 'n' Out. Yum. The drinks are strong and relatively cheap, too.
Drawbacks: Although I wouldn't venture to say there are any negative aspects of this place, the only obvious drawback is that there is no parking right outside. You've either got to valet or hoof it. Also, I am unaware of any themed nights or activities going on, so if you're looking for a wild and fun night out, try somewhere else. If you're looking for an intimate, mellow, enjoyable evening... come here! -
Review from Judy J.
Great, huge, outdoor patio - smoking allowed, as well as dogs. Inside- your typical British pub. There are darts in the back. Not always tidy bathrooms. They seem to have a lot of regulars. Everyone seems nice. The decor inside is pretty bland.
The bartender with the funky glasses - I digg her. The door guys are always nice. I don't go often enough to really recognize anyone else.
I've gone about 25 times total in the decade I've been in L.A. I've always found it 'okay'.
However, I recently met some friends there for the new trivia night and I was starved. It was my first meal there. They have a portabello mushroom burger. On the menu when it told what all was included, there was something called 'rocket'. I asked the server what this 'rocket' was. 'Greens', she stated. Oh. I'll take it, then. The entire meal, I kept telling my friends 'this is SO f'n good!" They didn't understand. I love portabello burgers, but this 'rocket' was greens sauteed in heavy garlic and olive oil. Heaven. Pure heaven. I forgot about the trivia questions and devoured my burger. A definite must try. For you meateaters, you could add a meat pattie for a couple dollars more. It's not really necessary, though. The portabello and rocket is amazing together!
I would definitely go back for that burger. -

I came here with my girlfriend who had a friend visiting from out of town. If we weren't prompted by the need to find a new spot to enjoy a good pint, we probably wouldn't have chosen to come here. Unfortunately, the vibe was somewhat drab. The only saving grace was the FISH and CHIPS served with MALT VINEGAR. Now, that is something I can enjoy. Other than the prime location in Hollywood (on Sunset Blvd), this spot is an average pub.

Baah, it's only about the venue. Food is deplorable and they don't pour 16oz drafts. If you put something on the menu, at least be sure that your cooks care about making it. Eat at home first, come for the beer and solcializing. Nice patio area.

Hollywood is seedy. Everyone who lives there or in the vicinity knows this.
I find places that were popular in another era and have sat on their laurels and used this bygone popularity to attract new customers typically quite frightening.
The Cat and the Fiddle can almost, just almost, stand on its own without its "famed" history, which I know nothing about.
There are the kitschy-touches - the cocktails named after stars, etc. I think some of the entrees are similarly named. But the most important part - is that the food is edible! The drinks are actually really good! They are also about $12 each!
We went on a Sat afternoon - not busy at all. Waiter said something about happy hour Mondays, blahblahblah, I guess that might be a good time to go.
This is where the experience gets fishy. We waited. For our bill. For a long. time. To the point where my friend had tracked down a couple bussers and asked for our waiter to come out a couple of times, and our meal was similarly paced. After about an hour (hey, the weather was good and the conversation wasn't forced), we simply left. I mean, no running. Getting up at our leisure and walking away. Needless to say, perhaps service is lacking, but we also got out of there with a free meal. I don't know how I would have felt about the experience if we had had to pay.
We had parked for another "attraction" in the area - so needless to say, this wouldn't be a place to go to if it was the only location you were going to hit up in H-wood.
I had a good time, full belly and pleasant after-taste, but wouldn't make it a point to go back unless I was promised some kind of sweet treat as a result of said attendance. -

Been here a few times and will return, because a) it's within walking distance, so I can get hammered and stumble home if I want, b) the patio is gorgeous and terribly relaxing on a nice weekend afternoon, and most importantly, c) it's dog friendly, and my dog LOVES it here. They recently introduced a doggie menu with a good selection of dog-friendly items. The food is hit or miss. The breakfasts are very European and fairly good. The sandwiches are good. The signature roast beef and Yorkshire pudding they serve on Sundays is rather 'meh' but it's hard for me to say since I have British blood and make a roast beef that's 50 times better at home.
Why only three stars? The place is good for the three reasons outlined above, but the food quality over all is so-so. The service is inconsistent. If you do go to hang out on the weekend, get a table on the left side of the fountain from the entrance or whatever you have to do to get Jesse to wait on you. The other gal is pleasant, but she has no clue what she's doing, and it was embarrassing to take my friends here for lunch yesterday and not be offered a second beer and have my dog's order forgotten about. I'd love to give this place more stars, but they really do need to put more effort into the menu and drill their wait staff a little more. As many have said it has the potential to be incredibly awesome but it's not quite there yet. Nevertheless, if you like dining out with your dog, this place is great for that. -

Went here from my coworkers birthday. I'm a little late writing this review, but whatever.
I got there with my boyfriend, met with my friend Kat outside, we go in, easy entrance. I was fascinated when I first walked in and saw the outside patio with lights and big trees! We go meet with everyone and we sat down excited to try this place.
Here's where it all goes down. The server comes up to my boyfriend and I, she took our order. We ordered a hamburger to share and one beer. The server was rude, she kept asking if that was all. YES! That is all we want, if we want more food or drinks, we will order them, STOP ASKING!
Finally we got another beer and when we ordered the last beer we asked her to close our tab. She came back with the beer and no check. We asked her one more time if she could please close our tab, since that was everything we were consuming. She gave us attitude and said "are you leaving now?" No we are not leaving, but that is all that we will consume! She gave us attitude, for asking her to close our tab with only 2 beers and one burger. My boyfriend at this point was mad and didn't even feel like leaving a tip.
Food: The food was ok, I personally don't think it was all that good. Tasteless.
Service: Our server was terrible! All of the people I was with had some type of confrontation with her.
Place: Really cute little place, good for a few drinks and a relaxing time with your friends. Maybe not so good for large groups of people, or if you're looking to have some food and a drink.
Overall I had an ok experience and I don't know if I will be going back anytime soon. -

I'm sad to report this update.
Recently made reservations here for my friend's birthday. They were great with the reservation process, polite and accommodating. I was the first here and was seated at a large table to hold for our party; The table was in the back, right next to the main bar.
It wasn't crowded yet, as it was only about 8pm on a weekend. The waitress never came back and as usual, I was in dire need of a drink. 10 minutes had probably passed so I ordered with the bartender 6 feet away. To make a long story short, the initial waitress who seated us walks by and puts me on blast in front of everyone. She was upset that I hadn't ordered with her and that I'm evidently creating confusion with the tabs. I of course was not aware of this, since my card hadn't even been given yet - Under the impression that this was my first order... The bartender shooed her and apologized on her behalf expressing that "she always does this... Don't mind her..."
I was just very off put by the waitress's behaviour and thought that it was stingy and unprofessional. Not to mention rude to publicly call me out like that as if I was doing something wrong? This behaviour continued with some of the other members of our party, which is unacceptable.
I choose the 4 star status as opposed to less because I did appreciate the apology from the bartender. The customer service that I received upon reservation was also pleasant and obliging. I had food this time, the Vegetarian Shepard's Pie, and found it to be very enjoyable and worth the price. The venue itself is still a nice establishment and their Bloody Marys aren't too bad either ;) Just a grumpy server who needs talking to, I know how it goes!Listed in: Watering Holes

Review from Jason O.
Came here for a birthday about a week ago. I really liked this place. There is this big open patio. A cool fountain and nice seating areas. This place has a great location and also a great feel to it. The food also looked really good.
There were a few odd problems, though. When I showed up I went inside and got a drink and started a tab. Then a little later this attractive waitress came by our group and asked if she could get me a refill. Then we found out that the waitresses who serve the food and drink outside are on a different system than the bar inside. So I guess you just need to pick one or the other or just open two tabs.
I noticed that this bar has coke and not pepsi which is a must. Cocktails with pepsi suck ass. So I decided to get a whiskey and coke. I looked over the selection and went with a Wild Turkey and coke. (it had been a while) Then just as the bar tender was finishing my drink I saw that she was making it with 81 proof turkey! What the hell is that? I have never even seen 81 proof turkey in a bar except for at this one place that had both the 81 and the 101. I like the taste of wild turkey but, come on. One of the main reasons you would order wild turkey is that it is usually the same price as Jack daniels etc. but with 10% more alcohol! The drink was good but this just totally miffed me.
Despite these problems I cant really give this place a 3 or lower, star it totally makes up for it by being awesome. Some guy brought his dog to sit with him out on the patio. Love it. I wanted to go get a big dog just to bring him here. Also for some strange reason right as I was about to leave I found a $5 bill floating in the fountain. Finders Keepers! -

The beef dip sandwich was "meh".
The $10 Caesar salad was supposedly "large".
My husband and I were shocked and disappointed at how small this "large" salad was.
Go there for ambience. The food is, at best, mediocre and over priced. -

NOT VEG friendly! if youre vegan, just skip it altogether.
a friend had me meet him here for a drink, neither of us having been here before. both of us being vegetarian, borderline vegan, we were not happy with the selections.
we started with the cheese plate for an appetizer, it was pretty good.
the service was good, we asked the waitress her opinions of the food before we ordered.
i got the mushroom 'burger' with a cup of the vegetable soup. the soup was pretty yummy. the 'burger' was soooo meh. not filling (as the waitress warned me) and a-la-boring in general.
for what you get, the prices are ok.
if i wasnt vegetarian, i probably would have given a 3 star, but i was SOOO HONGRAY when i got there, so having my options limited was a major disappointment. What place in LA doesnt even offer a veggy-patty? (if i find more places, i will for sure mention it) -

Plus, our bartender Chris Unck was awesome. The bangers and mash and the fish and chips were both tasty! Would definitely recommend to anyone in town looking for a great pub experience.

Review from Ashley M.
How do you know you're in love with a bar? Sometimes it's tricky. You can't always be sure. Sometimes you have to visit multiple times, or wait for kinks to be ironed out. Sometimes it never happens. But sometimes, my friends, sometimes you just KNOW. I've only been to this spot once, but already I know.
Aren't you moving a little fast, Ashley? you may be thinking. No, I don't believe I am. I know it isn't always wise to judge a place by your first impressions, be they positive or negative, but what can I say? The Cat & Fiddle got me like you wouldn't believe. I went yesterday (Wednesday), with the hyna, for happy hour. $3.50 well and tap, $5 plates. What's not to like?
I wasn't expecting a whole lot from a British pub. They generally don't excite me too much. But walking into the entrance to The Cat & Fiddle, I got a warm little feeling in my soul. So very LA, right? The Spanish-style architecture, a little fountain...felt like walking into a different world. It's quite nice and would be a lovely place to have some small bites and a few beers over some good conversation. We decided to sit inside, however. Once we walked inside, the vibe was completely different. Dark woods, bricks, cheeky little British illustrations by the booths, and of course, a TV over the bar playing soccer. We were seated promptly, informed that our server would be with us shortly, and had our drink orders taken.
So when did I know it was love? Probably about the time that I was listening to her talk, sipping on my Boddington's, and noticed the very familiar abrasive guitar line of Gang of Four's "Damaged Goods" in the background. I looked at her, my eyes wide, and said, "I LOVE this song." Then, right after, when Elvis Costello's "(I Don't Want to Go to) Chelsea" came on, I knew for sure. It wasn't just a fluke, no. It was for real. My heart skipped a beat, I was overcome with a sense of joy, of well-being, and that perpetual nervousness that comes with new love. Would the music disappoint? Would the food?
NO and NO. They played the Talking Heads!! As I sipped a Guinness and then a Strongbow cider, munched on my little cheese plate (blueeeeeee cheese), and ate half of their little pizza (which is somewhat like Stouffer's French bread pizza, only not gross) without the sausage, I felt content, buzzed, sated. And a little boated.
The servers were friendly and accommodating, the food was tasty, the draft selection was decent, and you can't beat the happy hour prices. 5 IMPORTED beers and 3 plates of food for under $34 before tip. I guess they have brunch and live shows. They also have a full menu, and it appears to have some nice choices. But for me, for now, it's all about the happy hour. I'll be back, Cat & Fiddle. Oh, yes, I will.Listed in: LA Sexies

After reading the reviews I was a little leery on spending a saturday night here...But I came for a friends birthday. I was surprised that this place wasn't at all packed...and now i know why....
The only thing Nice i have to say about this place is that the outside patio is beautiful and pretty much the only saviour of the evening.
My friends and I went to the bar to order a few drinks... Upon exiting with our first round of drinks the amazon dark haired manager? came up to my group and asked us if there was a problem with our service because they didn't leave a tip. All of us were kind of shocked and didnt know really what to say..at this time my tab was still open and intended on buying more drinks. She saved herself by asking if there was a problem with the service and if there was she needed to know...she made all of us feel uncomfortable and awkward..and last I knew tipping wasnt mandatory in the united states for one drink...AND some people like to tip with cash INSTEAD of their card at the end of the night LADY so you kind of screwed that up for yourself. I myself am a really good tipper and cant speak for the other girls that i was with but it was really rude unprofessional and uncalled for...
Later when i returned to order more drinks...the bartender that was mad at my group left...and the other bartender was tipped off to what had happened and she made me wait for over 10 minutes helping other guests before finally coming to get my order. AFTER all this BS I still left a nice tip...because I understand how tips are peoples bread and butter.
I will never return to this place..dont waste your time or money until this place gets their shit together. -

Totally hipster.. but what place in LA isn't, anymore? I guess we're all pretty much hipsters these days. What does hipster even mean now?

This is THE place to go on a warm summer night when you want to sit outside with a date or friends and enjoy some good food/drinks and conversation. You can actually hear each other talk because they don't blast the music -- I really appreciate that. Atmosphere is great with Spanish style architecture (they filmed part of Casablanca here), fountains, outdoor bar, chill music, and greenery.
Drinks are yummy -- their mixed cocktails are around $8 each which isn't bad considering the neighborhood. Plus, they are delicious. Decent beer selection. We've had various things on the menu and everything has always been really good. I do want to try their brunch sometime.
On weekend nights, they will only seat you outside if you're ordering dinner. However, one time we showed up around 7:30pm on a Saturday night for drinks only and they let us take a table in the corner and said they might need to ask us to move if it got really crowded. We were fine with that, and ended up never having to move!
Metered street parking or valet for $6 out front. -

4 stars for the outdoor experience, 2 stars once you cross that fated doorway and enter the inside.
I used to frequent cat and the fiddle when I first moved here three years ago- I loved the outdoor space, and on a summer night it's just heavenly. It's a little haven of tall trees and christmas lights, that's full on weekends but still has plenty of space to breathe. When I was a wee little thing at age 21, freshly exposed to celeb sightings, a james franco sighting here floored me...but as I grew older, wiser, and went inside for the first time, I quickly learned about cat and the fiddle's jekyll and hyde situation. The outdoor space, jekyll, is beautiful, quiet, moral, decent, while the indoor space, hyde, is just primitive, gross, and smells like I imagine hyde would.
I still enjoy the outside. I love getting a pimm's cup (the "traditional english summer drink". oh england.) and while I think English food is highly unappetizing, for some reason I have an attraction to ye olde pub fare at c&f. The bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, and sausage roll are all pretty authentic...and by authentic, I mean a little icky, but for some reason I still have the dying urge to finish it off.
So go, enjoy the outdoor seating and the appetizing/unappetizing english food, but take my word for it and avoid the inside! -

Met a friend here for dinner, prices were a little high, but it was Hollywood, so I can't complain. Food was good. "Chips" were ok, I was expecting better, they were more like hand cut french fries. I got the Cat & Fiddle Burger, comes with pork belly and amazing cheddar cheese. Just be aware that "Imported Bacon" means "pork belly". The beef was tasty and it came on a pretzel bun!! Yum! For dinner and a soda I made it out of there under $20 with tip. I didnt get to try their beer menu, so I will be back for that!

The outdoor area is beautiful and simply delightful on a warm summer night.
Everything else is mediocre at best. The food is overpriced for the quality. The service, while friendly, was delayed at every point during our visit. The bathroom was dingy and too small.
There is a lot of potential in this place, but it falls short of anything special. -

I had my fix of cider here. I haven't had cider in soooooooo long. My favorite English cider is Strongbow (my drink of choice while living in England), but in my experience, Magners is much more common, so I asked the bartender if they had Magners. He told me that they stopped ordering Magners, so I was really sad. I i didn't even think to ask about Strongbow. I thought about what else I could possibly order that was English and couldn't think of an appropriate drink. He suggested Strongbow! I was so happy! Now I know where to go for a nice glass of cider.
There is an outdoor seating area where everyone was hanging out. We were hanging out in front of the bar, which I thought was weird. There was a couple tables and some chairs, but most of us were standing. It was a big group of us just in the way of the other bar patrons, but the other hangout area was the restaurant part. Not many options, but I was satisfied with my Strongbow. -

Unfortunately I can't comment on the food at Cat & Fiddle because it never seems appealing or I am there just after I have already brunched or dined, but one thing I can comment on from multiple visits is the distinct smell of vinegar, old wood, and spilled beer. Now, the vinegar odor may just be a result of spilled beer on old wood, but for some reason my nose sniffs out all three. it's not pleasant, especially when in a fierce game of darts where concentration is key!
Luckily for us humans with hound-like senses, they have a beautiful patio (just pretty basic in the day time) to escape such horrific whiffs. It really is pretty with strewn lights and such, and it's also the first thing you see when you walk in the sort of hidden alley where Cat & Fiddle lies down, but its Midnight's Summer Dream-like outdoor doesn't necessarily prepare you for the stank that awaits you if you walk inside for a beer.
Definitely more men than women, so don't go looking to score a lady (or two), gents, however it is a great place for groups!Listed in: Patio Dining in LA, Animalistic Tendencies, Darts

I went to the Cat & Fiddle last night with some friends. The environment outside is absolutely amazing but the value of food is honestly just okay. The Fish & Chips were $15 for 2 fish and some fries. That was okay. I genuinely felt ripped of when I ordered the apple cider for $3.50 which came in a small mug and included NO REFILLS. I quickly drank it and it was replaced with water within minutes. Seriously? 1 cup of apple juice for almost $4.
So overall, the environment is awesome but piecewise, I will probably go somewhere else. -

I'm so torn about this place!
The conflicting emotions are tearing me up inside!
The BAD (very bad)
-RUDE server who told us our party could not put two tables together to have our whole happy hour group sit together.
-Rude host who told us we couldn't be outside unless we ate dinner. (Happy hour appetizers do not count)... she literally asked us one by one, in a very bitchy tone "are you having dinner?" "are YOU having dinner?" "are you having dinner" while she pointed at each of us. We were like 15!
-The happy hour "appetizers" are TINY! Very mediocre as well. Don't even think about getting a few to share. They will not satisfy any group, no matter how small.
The GOOD:
-The courtyard was lovely, such a great atmosphere! So soothing with the fountains and breezy with the trees. It was pretty ideal.
-Dog friendly!!!!!! Another server (redheaded lady) brought my friend's dog a bowl with water and then came back with some doggy treats!!! One of the stars in this review is just for her- I thought that was excellent service! (to the dog)
Basically, gorgeous location, sucky service (unless you're a dog.)Listed in: Little Barhopper

Beautiful outdoor patio, even the TV's don't take away from the atmosphere. So freaking cool. I came here for dinner and would definitely recommend just coming for drinks and maybe dessert. Not a huge fan of the food. But I'm usually not a fan of British food in general too hearty and bland for me. With that being said, it's a perfect place to get a brewski with a friend and people watch before heading out for the night. Just my suggestion!
...My review does not include the indoors as I was so enamored with the patio I never left my seat!...
