I haven't stayed in many B&Bs before, and after one night at The Carlton Inn, I'm completely hooked. Nestled in the middle of Oregon's wine country, this inn was inviting and unbelievably comfortable. The proprietors, Edward and Heidi Yates, are as kind and friendly as can be, and at once I felt like I was staying the night in the house of an old friend.
There are 4 rooms -- 3 have adjoining baths, and the fourth has a bathroom across the hall. In the morning, juice, coffee and teas were available at 7:30, and breakfast was served in the dining room at 9. All of the guests eat breakfast together -- Edward and Heidi made the most unbelievable breakfast: it started with a fruit plate with pears, strawberries, oranges, cantaloupe, and raspberries, followed by fig and pecan scones, and homemade yogurt and homemade granola. The main course of breakfast was a wild Chanterelle and roasted red pepper frittata garnished with Danish blue cheese, fried sweet potatoes, and an assortment of heirloom tomatoes.
For the meal, company, and a comfortable stay, a price of $125 for two was unbelievably reasonable. HIGHLY recommended. This place is a gem!
