The Canterbury Brook Inn

This is not a 5 star gourmet restaurant, but it has solid food and service. Place was abuzz with obviously regulars that know the food is good. I had a fondue dish with pork, chicken, steak, and shrimp. It had a side of spaetzle! Very creative!

My wife had a pork tenderloin and my son had steak frites. All was good. We had a Cabernet Franc wine that was delightful. The waitstaff came to our table often.

Older restaurant, but quaint. We would come back.

The food, service and ambiance is fantastic at this long-standing restaurant. In all my years of eating here, my family, friends and I have never had a complaint. Hans, chef and owner, offers an affordable dinner menu every Tuesday to Thursday at $21.50. It is a three-course dinner. Hans has a large following of faithful patrons. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

Second visit here and food was excellent. Butternut squash ravioli was amazing. My son in law had the short ribs. My daughter likes the chicken.
Service was impeccable.
Also apple fritter dessert was spectacular.

I'm from this little town but have not been back for decades. in town for a HS reunion & the other restaurants were either booked or closed so I walked through the doors at the Canterbury for the first time in 30 years.
I just have to say this meal was phenomenal. Truly. I wasn't expecting to have my socks knocked off but whoever is the head chef at this restaurant knows what they are doing. Flavors are expertly matched and it was a beautiful meal. So sad that I live too far away to make it a regular stop for us !

This is our favorite place to have dinner. The food is fresh and fantastic. The price is in the budget.

OMG! It was delicious and for the wonderful food, so moderately priced. Both my friend and I ordered the special. You could get soup or salad. entree, and dessert for 21 bucks. What a deal! I had the salad and the chicken cordon blue. It came with spazel and assorted cooked vegetable. The chicken came in a delightful breading stuffed with ham and cheese. Best I ever had! For desert, I ordered the chocolate surprise. It was vanilla icecream over a brownie topped with chocolate sauce. I ate everything. If I could lick the plate it was that good! And the portion was just right, not too big, not too small. I'll be coming back for sure!

Awesome quality and value. Whenever I'm home, we eat here. The schnitzel is fantastic. Service is terrific.

Time tested and time proven. You can always count on a delicious meal. Great value for their 3 course meal. Cold and snowy...... try the fondue!

Came here for their Tuesday to Thursday $19.95 complete dinner special (it comes with a side salad or soup, entree, & dessert). Their menu changes around and their signature dinners are served on Friday & Saturday. Goto their Facebook page to view their current menu. They do offer vegetarian entree choices. Rustic Cornwall style decor & friendly service. Foods were delicious & just the right portion. Limited seating so it is best to call for reservation. Free parking available in the back. Be advised they are closed on Sunday & Monday.
