Beds and more! Sheets, lamps, decorative items.....who knew!
I must say, I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in to look at some pillows I just happened to have noticed through the window and discovered sheets, tapestries, lamps and a few other items.
Prices for the tapestry were very reasonable and in fact I found the perfect item to hang on my wall for a mere $20, other items were comparable to prices for similar items I have seen elsewhere.
Decorative pillows came in all colors, shapes and sizes as did futton covers and bed sheets! I saw some really cool lamps and of course some great furniture!
This is a great neighborhood store to find decorative apartment and bedroom items! -

Service was great, delivery was timely and I really love the headboard we selected. A nice selection of styles in this smallish place.
What I don't like is the product. Three years after we purchased our mattress from The Boston Bed Company, it's shot to hell: sagging, and pitted with two divots where we sleep. And we take care of our mattress, rotate it regularly, etc..
As a mattress is no small investment, we'll look elsewhere for next time. Unfortunately, given the lack of quality, that "next time" is coming far sooner than it should. -

The beds are pretty decent quality and the prices are very reasonable. I had exemplary, but not pushy service. There are several financing options available. The delivery and assembly fees (if applicable, there's a price break if you get an expensive enough item) are well worth it. Even better, I had the bed within two days of purchase.
Not much else to add. -

I showed up in Boston without a bed. For the first three nights, I slept on the floor of my insanely cold and empty apartment. When my furniture had arrived, I went down to the Boston Bed Company and pick out the world's best mattress! It is a pillow-top mattress and box spring and it is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on.
The lady who sold it to me, let me roll around the beds and look around for awhile without pressuring me, and it paid off because I bought a mattress. However, I didn't plan very well, because I have a very high antique bed, and I didn't take into consideration how high the pillow-top would make my bed. I have to jump a little to get on it, and my best friend had to practically do the high jump to sit on it, but thats cool. I feel like the princess and the pea and I would never give up my awesome mattress! -

While I like my bed and dresser, I experienced terrible service from Boston Bed Company.
On the day my bed was delivered, the movers did not have the right hardware for my bed and left it in pieces on the floor, telling me they were too busy to get the correct hardware to fix it. Also, in their haste to leave they left my dresser in the middle of my living room. When I called to complain about the movers, this guy Andrew told me he would have to just get back to me about my bed and in regards to my dresser, "well you probably didn't tell them where to put it." When I asked, "why would I want my dresser in my living room?" "He responded, I don't know miss, goodbye!"
I ended up sleeping on my mattress on the floor that night. The next day 2 different people came back to put my bed together. This time they realized they not only had the wrong hardware, but the wrong boards, as well and also that the movers had only dropped off two of the drawers for under my bed.
On the THIRD day they came back again to fix the bed and ended up breaking it in the process. When I called to get a refund of sorts, the company only comped me 1 set of drawers. $100.00 was not enough to cover the crappy service I received.
All in all...this was a terrible experience and I would never use Boston Bed again. -

I lived in Allston for 8 years -- and I've never heard of The Boston Bed Company. I've been on Yelp for 2 years and this is where I heard about this company.
I bought a king size bed here!! KING SIZE!! I upgraded from the full size bed that I've had for years.
I found the service to be very nice, helpful, not crazy persuasive and pushy. We were impressed with the prices -- very reasonable!
We went with a firm firm firm bed and I've slept very well on it for the past month.
I would definitely recommend The Boston Bed Company to you if you are in the market for a new bed! -

I loved this place. I went into the showroom with fifteen spare minutes before I had to leave for work, thinking it wouldn't even be possible to get a bed chosen and purchased. After wandering around for a few minutes, I snagged a saleswoman from the front desk, she talked to me about my options, asked me my budget (less than $500) and got me a queen set and bed frame for less than my budget. They even offered me cookies as I paid the bill.
Delivery was well within the time they scheduled (yay) but the guys didn't help set anything up. To be fair, I didn't ask. They were perfectly nice and helpful otherwise.
If and when I have another bed to purchase this place will be the first place I go. -

This place is the best!!!
I went in to Boston Bed expecting to pay an arm and a leg for a bed and have to wait a few days for delivery but my visit to the store turned out to be the exact opposite. The guys that work there are supper friendly and there are so many bed frames and mattresses to chose from in any price rang. I was able to find the perfect mattress in my budget. Not only did i get more than I bargained for but I was able to get it the same day. This was the best experience ever and I could not ask for more. The best deal you will get in town from the best people!!! -

I had never purchased a bed before so I had very little knowledge about mattresses...other than I usually sleep on one. But besides the obvious purpose I had no idea what I wanted/needed except that I was soon moving to a place where I would definitely want/need something comfortable to sleep on. Before randomly locating just any mattress store, I checked with Yelp to make sure I was going to have a positive experience and luckily I found this place because the reviews did not lie. I was in the store for about 20 minutes where I was helped by JB who not only answered all my questions, but managed to do so without being overbearing and obtrusive. I have to say, it was quite a lovely experience. Which I feel is unusual for any activity other than watching a sunset, picking a basket of wild flowers, or enjoying a nice glass of lemonade by the pool.
This was kind of like that. Kind of. -

This was the first mattress store I went to when shopping for a mattress (other than IKEA) and it was the only store I had to go to find a mattress that I liked at a decent price.
The GOOD: Very friendly and knowledgeable customer service. No pressure at all. If you need time and space to think about things, they actually respect that. The employees know there stuff and ask you the right questions to find you the mattress you need at the right price.
The BAD: Nothing. If I were to nitpick, it would be that the showroom isn't necessarily aesthetically pleasing, but it is a mattress showroom so there's not much expectation. -

Really bad experience. Low quality mattresses that feel ok for a few months, but quickly get divots and sagging centers. Would never shop here again. I've had better experiences from "generic" shops like sleep-o-rama and national chains.

i got a very good deal on a queen sized set here. they have a lot of options, so you'll be able to find something no matter what your price range is.
the saleswoman was friendly and knowledgeable, she clearly saw that i needed some time to figure out what i wanted, and let me do my thing.
i was short on time, and on a pretty tight budget, but my mattress was delivered this morning and it's great. it took me some time to put the frame together, but that's just cuz i'm kind of an idiot.
anyway, i say go for it. -

After a disatrous experience at City Mattress (see full review there) we were in urgent need for Queen split boxsprings. We called up the Boston Bed Company, and they were extremeley nice and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure we could pick up our product the next day, and took my payment information to reserve the boxspring. When we arrived the next day, the salesperson remembered us from our phone order, and they carried the boxsprings to our car, loaded them in for us, and saw us on our way. Perfect service experience! We spoke with Jared and Thomas. Thanks guys!

Back in May 2007, I was looking for a place to get a split box spring for a full size mattress. My expensive and barely used box spring for my bed got damaged in storage. I called Mattress Discounters, Jordan's Furniture (where I originally bought the bed set), and Dial-A-Mattress. They were all quoting me expensive prices that was way out of my budget, for the box spring, a frame, and delivery charges. In a couple of cases, the price quote was up to half of what I originally paid for my bed (just a mattress, box spring, and frame with wheels).
I did a search on the internet and came upon Jennifer T.'s review for the Boston Bed Company, and her experience with City Mattress. I decided to call the Boston Bed Company, and sure enough, they were so awesome!!! The price quote was very reasonable, and I wouldn't have to wait too long for the delivery. The best part is that they insisted that I DID NOT NEED to buy a new frame!!! Amen!!! Certainly not what all the others were telling me. The delivery drivers helped me set up my bed, and I was all set! -

Salesperson was great! Low pressure and very good service. Only complaint is that we bought a bed with drawers underneath as part of the bed and paid $20 for a set up but they refused to set the drawers up. When I called the store back they said it was $20 a piece.

So I finally decided to upgrade to a full size bed, even though I am quite a shorty and only take up like a quarter of a twin. There's something more "mature" and less dorm-esque about having a double/full. Anyway, I bought a frame at IKEA and was shopping around for a mattress when I made the horrid mistake of going to Sleepy's. See my scathing review of that place. But, I turned to Yelp and lo, found this place and had a much better experience. I highly recommend Jon; he helped me find a mattress that was within my price range and let me bounce around on a couple. I got a great deal ($250) on what I think is a high quality mattress. The best part of my visit was when I told Jon that Boston Bed beat Sleepy's, hands down. He pumped his fists, and said, "Yeah!" Then said something about how the Boston Bed staff has a t-shirt saying something to that effect. Anyway, he explained that the Boston Bed staff doesn't work on commission, so they're not trying to pressure you into buying and just genuinely want to help you find what you're looking for. I HIGHLY recommend Boston Bed. I can't wait to sleep on my new mattress!! Thanks, Jon!
