The Bookcase is a great little bookstore in super-cute downtown Wayzata right across from Lake Minnetonka. Fun selection, helpful staff, connected to Caribou. What's not to love? The two folks working (not sure if any of them were owners) - were VERY personable and helpful. The collection of books in the store is well-selected as well, which makes for great browsing. When I stopped in this fall, there was a local author signing copies of his book, and it looked from the schedule as though they have quite a few events on a regular basis.
I know indie bookstores are struggling- heck, even Borders couldn't keep it together and they were by no means indie. If you are a book-lover who regularly utilizes Amazon or Barnes & Noble to get your reads, why not check out The Bookcase now and again for a good read to add to your collection?Listed in: Twin Cities Time

I popped in here during it's grand re-opening weekend. First, I had no idea it closed, and second, I saw signifigant changes. It still seemed like the same bookstore that's connected to the Caribou Coffee I grew up going to. BUT as it was the grand re-opening (uh, ok) everything was 15% off and will be throughout the weekend! Very good deal...it was like being a B&N member for a day. Picked up a nice hardcover for husband and indulged in the mighty delicious cake and candy corn they were sharing that day. A very nice way to kill some time.

It would be worth your time to stop into this quaint little bookstore in downtown Wayzata. In addition to a decent selection of books, it has that hometown-like feel to it. I definitely enjoy shopping here for gifts as well as for myself. The books are often a little overpriced, but nothing too extreme. The next time you are in the area, grab a new book (may I recommend "The Old Man and the Sea" or something alike), some ice cream, and hit the nearby beach on the shore of the lake for a relaxing afternoon!

I am a sucker for Amazon. I like that I can buy shoes, a bike helmet, a cd and a bunch of books all in one place. That said, when I want to buy a book (and JUST a book... or two or three), I head to the Bookcase. It is cozy, quaint, and independently owned. The collection - while not huge - is well culled and tends not to disappoint. The employees are helpful, knowledgeable, and seem to be very passionate about what they do. An added bonus - an attached Caribou Coffee and a great children's section, lovely cards, and an unparalleled selection of local offerings - Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota, the Midwest, etc...

Great place to buy a book. I get a coffee at the attached caribou and sip my warm drink while walking around and checking out new books to buy. If they dont have it they will find it for us. Good selection of helpful business books.

What a great little bookstore! Had a food time poking around and looking at books. Even picked up one for myself. The selection is onthe small side but most of the books they carry are excellent choices for each category. Not all that extra filler like at the big chain bookstores. The larger specialty books were a bit expensive but the normal hardcover and paperback books were atthe list price on the cover. I'll definitely be stopping by again.
