This place easily has the best turkey burger I've ever eaten.
During the daytime (weekdays), it's a manly sports bar-ish place.
On the evenings and weekends, there are a lot of families and whatnot. Don't come here on a friday/saturday night if you hate little kids, seriously. People bring entire 8-year-old soccer teams here.
The interior is wood with lots of tables and booths crammed in. Ordering is done at a counter, and you're given a beeper that will buss/flash for you to come get your grub.
The pizza is fan-frigging-tastic, BUT it takes forever for them to make. Worth the wait if you're not starving. The turkey burgers...oh man. Nice and juicy, and they come with a salad.
Cool place to come chill with friends, watch sports, or bring the family.
A word of caution, it often gets quite busy here!
Came here on labor day with my son. Got a small pepperoni pizza and wings. The food is just okay. I don't agree with the other posts that rave about this place. Maybe it's because I don't drink? I know when I use to drink, everything tasted good after a few ....
Pizza dough is more like pilsbury dough from the canister, pepperoni is spicy but good, sodas were good. Wings were good, but really vinegar tasting. So I guess, i wouldn't write this place off yet totally. Maybe I'll try a burger next time??
Great place to go get a pitcher of beer, a pizza, hang out, eat shelled peanuts, and watch a game on a big-screen TV. It's the perfect hangout after a softball game.
The food is pretty good, too. Pizza is interesting, you can get BBQ chicken or garlic chicken pizza. They have standard pizzas, too. Their sandwiches are good, they burgers are FANTASTIC. The fries and onion rings are good, too. Very crispy.
They are super nice and take special orders as well. They will make you a big Chef's Salad with only turkey meat. I really appreciated that.
They have a nice selection of domestic and imported beer on tap.
But, the REAL REASON I love going there is .... they have a REAL pinball machine, the one with mechanical flippers! So make sure you bring some quarters. Their arcade, though small, is oodles of fun.
I've always had a great time there watching a big game and hanging out with friends. It's kid-friendly, too.
This place is FUN FUN FUN!

Ok, I called to see if this place was going to show the San Jose Sharks game on one of the TV's? They said no, there are two different football games on, maybe after. Whats up with that, a local pro team and they are not going to show the game? We went alse where to spend our evening eating and drinking.
Excellent pizza, burgers and other sandwiches. Nice atmosphere. I really dig the tables with the sports posters underneath.
A place you can have a casual lunch or dinner or a place to meet up with friends to watch the game. I see many kids sports teams comes in for pizza after a game.. A place that can work with adults and kids.
Can't go wrong with the Philly or Chicken Cheesesteak and fries!
If you combined the bar in the TV sitcom, "Cheers" with a standard Roundtable Pizza franchise, then threw in a row of video games and put some TV screens up on the wall to incessantly stream sports, you'd have the Boardwalk. A great gathering spot, a terrific watering hole and a mecca for men who happen to also be in charge of the kids that night, the Boardwalk will yield an affordable pitcher or two, an array of mediocre food and a safe place to contain kids and their pops. On the menu, pizza, salad, hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, onion rings --- your basic pub fare or in my kids' minds, high gourmet!
The staff is nice, the atmosphere casual and the ambiance is loud!
NOTE: This not a place to get a martini, the Boardwalk is a beer and wine only establishment. So go, hang out, take in a game and have fun!!!
This hole-in-the-strip-mall place is pretty darn good.
You walk up, order, and get a buzzer. Easy peasy. I overhead someone behind me contemplating on a philly cheese steak and I ordered it.
To my delightful surprise, the sandwich was awesome. The bread was warm and soft, the cheese melted on the thinly cut steak perfectly, and the sauted onions added a slight complexity to each bite. It tasted GREAT with the thick cut fries and Barq's root beer. I loved it!
Chris ordered the onion rings which was not my favorite. The batter was too thick and were slightly over-fried. Brett ordered the burger but there was no comment about it being better than In and Out's, so I am assuming it wasn't that spectacular.
The Broadwalk is a nice sports cafe with a warm, Brawny-man feel. A good place to chat about the Final Four and enjoy a fabulous philly steak sandwich without any hassle.
Next time I will get a beer . . . care to join me? ;)

The pizza was really good, the BBQ Chicken pizza was one of the best I'd had. The nice thing about this place is it works for a date or a night out with your buddies. Overall, one of the better pizza places I've been to.
Great place for beer. Lots of different types of beer to choose from .
The pizza is also really good!
I like that seating is first come first served, so I imagine on fridays and saturdays it'd be packed. We went on a Sunday and it was pretty full up.
I myself ordered some buffalo wings, and I have to say, they were pretty spicy and really good. Big meaty wings, with a good sauce.

The food is not spectacular, but I love this place. There are few good "sports bars" left in the Bay Area. Most of them are trying too hard to be upscale or swanky (Old Pro, First & Main).
The pizza is really good. The buffalo wings are good, really spicy if you get the hot ones. The burgers are no good. Reasonable pitchers, lots of TV's, and lots of seating.
OK, I know it sound suspicious, but I think my landlord owns this place too. Before you call me a total nutjob, get this, it's the same menu, again, as Little Jake's. Besides I take no pleasure in knowing my landlord is so rich - why would he still charge me so much rent?
I went there with Susan D and a few others to celebrate my birthday. I'm almost sick of reviewing the same menu, so let me just say the reuben sandwich was pretty good. We ordered three pitchers of beers and split it among 9 people, and it cost us less than $20. I finished a pitcher myself. Ahem, it was MY birthday, OK?
So this is similar to Oasis Garden up the street on El Camino, but it's HUGE. Big screen TVs all around, but on the same channel. As you can see, it's a pretty homogenous crowd. Would it be my choice of the next Happy Hour? Prolly not. Not my kind of a crowd (do I really have a kind of crowd?) Should it be yours? maybe. Worth checking out.

I have to say I was not expecting this place to look as good as it did. I'm a fan of pizza, burgers, and booze, and here I can get it all. The burgers were pretty good and I really liked the big basket of seasoned curly fries.
There are a few booths but the main seating are tables all around the place. There are football pics on some of the tables and a few TVs around. The bar is decent and you get a good feel about the place. There are some video games in the corner, and I like the "buzzing table, coaster thing", to let you know your order is up.
Now knowing that, we have a wee bit of a bone to pick with you...., you have get FULL sized picture's, and DON'T give them little glass's with the beer. A nice cold PINT glass is always good.
But aside from that there a good place to get a burger and a beer, even if its in a kids cup.

This is a little bar that has a pretty good beer list, a handful of wines, and enough hard liquor to be called a full bar. The menu is mostly pizza, burgers, and sandwiches. It's definitely a neighborhood hangout.
Is it great? God no. The food isn't bad, but I couldn't go so far as to call it good either. There's no table service (order at the bar, pick up when your buzzer goes off). It's cleaner than I expected, but the whole place reeks of the deep fryer. The best point in its favor is that it's open late, so if you're up late (well, late for Los Altos) and in need of a burger that isn't from Jack in the Box, you've got an option.
I'm sure I'll go back, but it's not the kind of place where I'd ever say that we absolutely had to go there. There's nothing there that makes me want to come back, but sometimes you just want to hang out in a bar that isn't too skeevy, and that's the only reason that I'll find myself there.
This is the kind of place you go to and say "Why the hell are we eating here?" and then afterwards, you don't know why you didn't come sooner, but when you look back, everything was kinda only OK.
That's the kind of place The Boardwalk is.
I think that the burgers are very good. They have flavor, they're big enough for me and I'm never unhappy I had one. The pizza is slightly less happy-making. In fact, once or twice it has been decidedly unhappy-making. Read into that what you will, but mostly, it did not agree with me.
It's the kind of place you'd take your team to after you've just won a softball/volleyball/mini-golf game.

Absolutely LOVE this place. Buffalo wings are my absolute favorite and this place knows how to do them right. I used to get the buffalo wings here, but I have now discovered that you can order the chicken strips in buffalo sauce. So amazing. They're big boneless chunks of white chicken meat doused in buffalo sauce. So good! This is place now is officially the home of my favorite food.

There aren't many places where you can drink a few beers and bring the kids, but this is one of them. Most people who come here are sports fans or come by after work or after their own sporting event (softball, little league). While they do serve beer by the pitcher and wine, it's definitely a sports-family type place because no one is there to get trashed... I sat next to Dave Righetti there once... As for the food, it's standard sports-bar fare: pizza, sandwiches, burgers. Although the pizza's got a unique-soapy taste to it, I really like it. It's good. The best tho is the cheese burger. It's nothing special, but it's perfectly proportioned. It's not an oversized or dry patty. And it's got a slice of tomato, onion and lettuce on a nice soft bun. Perfection.
Alright, I am going to freely admit it. I am biased in this review. I have been going to The Boardwalk on and off for 17 years. The beauty of the place is very little has changed in in those 17 years. Perhaps only the pinball games. If you have a large group of people and need a place to relax this is a fantastic destination.
The food is male comfort food at its finest, beer on tap, meat sandwiches, deep fried anything and pizza. Will it be the best you have ever had? Probably not, but it is very palatable for a bar and grill/sports bar.
My wife, kids, friends and I really love this place.
It's a great, super-casual environment with something for everyone.
Great burgers and sandwiches served hot ( as a side note, it's the best hang-over food around).
Friendly staff makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
I used to meet up with friends here when I was in high school- this is where we'd start our night before the real fun began. Cool place to get some sandwiches and pizza and catch up with your buddies. I shall return here to reminisce on the old days over a nice cold beer.
Went back to the Boardwalk last night and this time decided to try their pizza. If you are a person that likes very doughy pizza you will like their pizza. I personally am more of a thin crust fan. We decided to go for their garlic chicken and half pepperoni, sausage and mushroom. The ingredients are all fresh, although I think they put way too much cheese on their pizza. I love their huge menu here, but most likely will come back for something other than pizza.

A great place for pizza and BEER! There is NOT a FULL BAR - FYI-----BEER & WINE ONLY. Try the philly cheesesteak It is GREAT.
3 Stars for food
5 Stars for the "cool hangout" vibe
Note: this is NOT a place to come dine. If you're down with emergency, rather fattening fare - then by all means. But I'd probably not come back unless I needed to entertain some kids (4-5 arcade games in back by the restrooms) or was doing what I was doing tonight: having a get together with a large group of people.
If you're not gonna be more excited about the people you're here with, than you are about eating... it's probably not worth coming.
But it would work awesomely for a Happy Hour or a Pizza Party or an End-of-Season dinner for a local sports group.
Loud.
Super casual.
Accommodated a table of 20 with no problem (I called yesterday to let them know).
Large selection of sandwiches, un-exciting (but very fresh) salads, pizza, beer, wine... peanuts. Food came fast too. The Philly Cheesesteak (which I sampled) was tasty.
Plenty of parking.
So in the same way you sometimes let service slide if the food is spectacular... here you let the [good, but not great] food slide 'cuz the atmosphere is perfect for a fun casual night.

I have came here about 4 times now and I can't seem to get enough of this place. The chicken strip meal is by far one of the best things to order. I have also tried the french dip which was perfect.
This past visit I saw they have cheese fondue on the menu and that the table next to us had ordered it. It comes with cheese cubes and apple slices for dipping but the table next to us also had ordered spicy curly fries for the dipping too. It looked pretty amazing, add a pitcher of beer to the mix and now we're talking.

My uncle and my dad are nuts about this place. We go there a lot and the food is always great. Its a great place to have a party. The food can be long but i dont worry about that because they have these awesome arcades!!! The service is great. If you have a party I recomend going
This place is great! Great food, great ambiance, and many TVs. Coming here with a huge group of friends and ordering almost everything on the menu is the best so you can get a lot of different tastes. Burgers, pepper poppers, beer, PIZZA, salad, fried chicken, many different American comfort food. Yum :) This place isn't appealing from the outside, and this place isn't popular because of its exterior. This is definitely a "beauty within".
The pizza's are filling. The crust is thick with lots of toppings. This is a good ol' kick back place to hang out. Order at the cash register, self pick-up order, self seating, plenty of parking in the back -- it's not fine dining -- and delicious nonetheless!
I think I have found Cheers of Silicon Valley. It's a friendly good old school place to bring your buddies to just kick back and have a beer along with some of their burgers and sandwiches. Clientele is anything from seniors to young ppl grabbing some grub and beers after a game. At lunch, it's a good place to come and watch sports on their big screen tv - like the golf going on this weekend in Pebble Beach or March Madness.
Tried the pastrami sandwich and it was just okay. (Sorry Brian T.) It came on a fresh onion roll with lettuce, tomato, and mustard slapped on there. Maybe I'm used to Togo's pastrami, but this stuff was sheets of tough pastrami that I had to gnaw and bite on like beef jerky.
The guy who took my order was super friendly so brownie points for that. Decent amount of parking outside.
Bottom line: I love the Cheers-like low key and friendly atmosphere. Only think missing is Norm and Cliff. I'd definitely come here again for beers and appetizers. But not a fan of their pastrami sandwich.

I haven't been to this place in so long but it used to be a standard hit of mine. I used to live in the south bay and I forget how many good spots there are to eat down there.
Now that I am thinking about it... I will have to go write some reviews for a few of the can't misses.
As for the Boardwalk ... the burgers are great (try the boardwalk deluxe.. comes with grilles canadian bacon)... they also have pinball here and a nice selection of beers.
Come here and try their pastrami sandwich ("Hold the cheese please" for me, of course). You will not be disappointed. I order it everytime I come here to eat. It's like eating a bacon sandwich, but with leaner meat. Damn...bacon...*slurp*...everything should taste like bacon. *shakes head* Sorry, food fantasizing is one of my unusual habits. Errr...where was I? Ah yes, the sandwich. The onion roll is the perfect compliment to this sandwich. You have the crispy and succulent pastrami along with the soft and fluffy bun. The textures blend beautifully. I would eat this sandwich everyday if I could. But then I'd wind up with a massive heart attack by the time I'm 26.
Mental note: Don't die.
Their pizzas are on par with your run-of-the-mill pizza joints. There's always an abundant amount of toppings and you will probably find yourself bringing some slices home because the pizzas are pretty fulfilling. The chicken wings and curly fries are great sides to your meals.
The owner of this joint is friendly and caring. Not only does he care about and cater to his customers, he also does the same to his employees. On a recent visit here, I must've heard him utter the words "Please," "Thank You," and "You're Welcome" over a dozen times directed at both his customers and workers. What a class act and a respectful person he is! A good establishment is measured by the person running it. And he runs it like a well-oiled machine.

Yeah, this place is old school. It's a not-so-subtle reminder of the days when the 49ers and Stanford didn't suck, without the resident drunks who usually go along with such a place.
I was, unfortunately, thoroughly unimpressed by my sandwich; my fries were soggy; and I'm really glad I asked for mayo on the side because they gave me half a pound of it.

The best pizza in the area. Period. How they make their crust crunchy like that amazes me.
We usually get it to-go, so we don't eat there a lot. Too many kids, for my taste...but, that's what it's about. It's a family joint. Don't expect fine dining here.
But if a game is on, it's a great place to grab a pizza, a pitcher of beer and hang out with friends.
The Boardwalk is a good place to go for a really good and juicy burger. The prices are reasonable, and they come with chips!
This is not your typical restaurant, because you have to order and pay first. Afterwards, you have to wait for your order. I like how you can choose where you want to sit. =)
I decided to order the individual pizza with italian sausage and mushroom. The pizza crust was not greasy, which is definitely a good thing. =) I really enjoyed the pizza, too.
After dining here, you will smell like oil or grease....lol.
My friend and I walked into The Boardwalk some time ago back in our college days. Upon leaving, we made a vow to visit at least once a week for a good artery clogging. Sadly, we didn't come close to reaching our goal. I guess that might be a good thing in the long run.
My regular order is the chili cheese dog with onion rings. It's a heart attack waiting to happen, but it's well worth it. These dogs are massive and I've been scoffed at by friends who didn't think I could eat one in its entirety. So many naysayers have I proved wrong.
I never feel like I'm in a bar when I go to The Boardwalk. I guess it just sorta feels like home.

I visit the Boardwalk at least once a month with my fellow GBAers (Geocachers of the Bay Area) for our monthly "unevent", where we get together, have a bite to eat and talk about geocaching and geocoins.
My usual order is the Big Bird (turkey burger with a side salad). Good tasting turker burger with mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onions. I get thousand island dressing with my salad and put some of it on the burger to give it extra flavor.
I've also tried the pastrami sandwich. Yum! Thinly sliced with lettuce, tomato, and onions. Comes with a side of potato chips although I think you can substitute fries for it.
Another favorite is the Asian Chicken Salad with nice big slices of chicken, peanuts, mandarin oranges, lettuce, some kind of crunchy white noodles, all topped with an asian dressing.
Everyone else loves the pizza and the beer. Lots of tables, a few arcade games for the kids, and a few TVs with your local sports teams.
A great affordable place if you don't feel like going somewhere fancy.

Life-shortening American cuisine in a warm atmosphere.
Came here through a recommendation from a friend. I first walked in and the place was bustling, but they still had plenty of seats open. I sat down and watched the Caps vs the Penguins on TV while waiting for my friends to arrive. They had a couple of TVs, and most of them were on the Laker's game, so it was nice to get some hockey in there too. My friends arrived shortly after, so we weaved our way to the cashier in the corner and started to order. We went with a small Gilroy special pizza, medium garlic chicken pizza, and a cheeseburger to try since we heard the burgers were good. That plus a pitcher of soda came out to be $47, split amongst 5 of us. I felt like it was still slightly expensive, but the food was pretty good. The burger was nice and juicy, and both pizzas were delicious, you could definitely taste the garlic on both of them. We also had a few slices to spare. There really wasn't much in terms of service, but the food and ambiance was good.

Pizza, beer, burgers, beer, wings, fries, beer and they're open late. Great place to gather after volleyball during the week.
Also - their salads are pretty big, so the side salad usually does the trick. They also serve beer in small glasses with the pitchers so you really never realize how much you're drinking.
Finally a place where you can take the kids, get your drink on and feed everybody while watching the game!
Ok ha ha, I had to put that because I did see one mother-daughter combo sitting at the bar. Mom had her glass of white wine and daughter was drinking her milk dangling her legs off the bar stool.
The outside is unassuming. Really, it's a blink and you'll miss it type of place on El Camino and looks much smaller from the outside. On the inside though, you are presented with a dark lowlit dining area with a bar to drink at and a counter to order your grub with the menu posted right above. However, being that this IS Los Altos, it is very clean and the word "dark" is more appropriate than "dank". If you've ever been to Oasis farther up on El Camino in Menlo Park or to The Dutch Goose, it's the same kind of place just spruced up (i.e. not covered in peanut shells, the tables are not carved in, no silly Yelp stickers posted in covert places). Actually this place definatly encourages groups; almost all the tables are round and provide that "instafamily" feel and the booths are big and cozy with high walls that ensure some sense of privacy. If you need the little ones to "find something to do" there is a small cache of video games around the corner in the back.
The menu is standard family/bar fare. Burgers and pizzas run amok and there's a speciality menu full of finger foods such as chicken fingers, wings and fondue (fondue? oh wait yeah, Los Altos, duh). There are turkey, tuna and lo carb options for all of you watching your waistlines (hell-o stay at home/ soccer, Los Altos mommies!). Anything besides the pizzas will not run you more than ten bucks and they have quite a healthy beer selection (sadly the wine list leaves something to be desired but hey, I'm not much of a wine and football girl, I prefer beer with my football; I find it a nice paring no?). You can have your beer in many different sizes (essentially small, medium, large and pitcher) and once again, I believe pitchers top out at just over ten bucks with tax which once again, is not too shabby.
They are very much a sports run place. Signs advertising Sunday football are discreetly displayed throughout the place and with three huge TVs, unless you are in a booth, it's completely possible to get a good seat to watch the game. There's a ticker towards the front stained glass windows with up to the minute sports results from all over the world. The clientele is a mix of families, old men looking for a pint and youngins with their name badges complete with photo and company logos. Not exactly the place to go if you want to get down on a Friday night but definatly potential for a rowdy Sunday featuring folks in their appropriate jerseys. Cheers to football season and to this place.

Probably the best cheeseburger I've ever eaten in my life. Incredibly unhealthy, which frankly enhances the flavor for me. If I'm killing myself, at least I'm doing it with something delicious.
The fries are also fantastic - they're of the thick, steak fry variety rather than those piddly ones you find at In 'N Out.
The lunch line is massive, so I'd recommend getting there early if you're going there during the day. And if there's a big game, I'd also arrive early and stake out some seats as it tends to fill up quickly.
In all honesty, the burgers are so good I'd give the place 5 stars even if the servers punched me in the face when I ordered. (They don't. Usually.)

This is a great, chill hangout spot--many memories of hanging out here at lunch with my coworkers.
Good burgers that come with awesome fries. The pizza is amazing. I am a garlic lover and am in LOVE with the Gilroy special. It's fantastic. It's a bit heavy, though, so I can't eat too many slices.
The service is very friendly. Especially the African American guy, he always has a smile on his face. I hope I go back soon!
I really like this place - it's just relaxed and doesn't put on any airs.
The pizza was good, and of course, beer!! It's a good place to come with a group of friends just to chill.
