Blue Seats is a very good upscale sports bar. They have an excellent bar food menu so don't have to settle for sub-par food while you watch your game. The TVs are great looking flat screens that appear to be top of the line. The service is friendly and helpful.
The only negatives are the TVs in the booths are too tiny to really watch an event and the bar area is also small and will get crowded easily. The stadium seating viewing room has a bit of a medieval dungeon feel and you need to be a hard core sports fan that watches three games simultaneously to really enjoy it. -

I immediately liked this place. SPORTS FAN.. GO THERE!
They have tables and booth. each booth with 6 monitors surrounding by your. if you are with group of friends who are into different teams/games/sport. you can almost satisfy everyone's needs at this place. However of course get there early. booth are NOT available at all times.
One of my favorite sports bar so far! -

Like gimmicks? In this case, your own HD in your own space age booth. Interesting idea.
Nice staff important? Yes I must say, the people working here, are quite nice.
But, here are the problems:
- the food - - mediocre. A turkey burger that's dried out, hardly seasoned, filled with onions which is a lame attempt of seasoning on hardly toasted English Muffins.
- the beer - - had 2 types of beer on draft...neither of which tasted fresh or had enough carbonation
- the wait -- I went on a VERY busy night...but isn't that when you want to go to a sports bar....my turkey burger (and the other food) took over 1.25 hours to arrive.
- the layout - - look this is nyc...but the layout of the place is pretty bad....narrow aisle, badly placed bathrooms...it's like youre on Amtrak
So, do you have HD at home? Know other sports bars? Trust me, the positives are not outweighing the negatives. -

The act of attending the projection of a sporting event in the company of friends over beer and greasy food stuffs (primarily fried starches and meat off the bone) transcends age, neighborhood and even the cache of cool--even though white-hat frat boys and grizzled Yanks fans are the archetypical population for this activity, there are still plenty of Bushwick, Williamsburg and assorted downtown dudes (and ladies) spending weekend days and nights (prime museum strolling/gallery opening/haircut cutting hours) plopped in front of a television watching the Wisconsin vs. Purdue game.
This is more or less the reason is was a safe bet that the Lower East Side could support a sports bar, especially one with 72 freaking screens. Over the past month we paid multiple visits to The Blue Seats...unfortunately, we never made it past the cheap seats.
Setup: Blues Seats takes the idea of pay-to-play to a pretty obscene level, as the majority of the seats require a minimum bar tab (tip and tax not included). For example, the right to sit at one of the tricked-out booths (five high-def screens line the six person booth) requires a minimum tab of $200 over four hours. To watch a game in the Dugout, a private eight-seat nook with seven screens and a dedicated server, requires a $640 tab over four hours. The Skybox, 17 individual leather seats and 12 screens, runs (wait for it) $1,200 for four hours. There is limited "no obligation" seating available in the front and back, but these spaces can get crowded...theoretically, because there wasn't much of a crowd during our visits. Oh, and smokers and non-sports fans? There's a cozy (read: puny) backyard where you can escape the (non)masses and puff away, sans TVs.
Crowd: On two Saturday afternoon visits we shared the entire place with groups of three and five respectively. The crowd on a Friday evening was a little more than twenty, watching a (non-playoff) Yankee game. That said, the following Friday found a few friends of ours at the bar and texting us to come over. "This is my new favorite place on the LES," one of them wrote. "Because there's literally NO ONE in here."
Booze: There are no happy hour/weekend afternoon specials, which, we guess, matches the upscale vibe. Beer and liquor selections are very basic (averaging $6). Screwdrivers and Bloody Mary's arrived strong. But maybe you could toss in a craft beer or two?
Food: The menu attempts to twist standard bar snacks--unfortunately with the imagination of a "Hell's Kitchen" reject. Appetizers include three varieties of chicken wings (Asian, Buffalo and Scarpariello) and three sliders (hamburger, Cubano and Philly cheese). Entrees lean Italian with veal marsala, pork chops and baked mac and cheese (with truffle oil...yes, they went there). There's a raw bar too (clams and oysters of questionable origins). No, we didn't go there.
Service: The friendly staff is the most consistent (and positive) aspect of the joint. Things started rough when our party missed the kickoff of our game due to "technical difficulties"--but with 72 screens it's bound to happen. Owner Natasha Navidad is one of the good people in the sketchy bar scene and has trained her staff properly--on multiple visits the gents slinging us drinks stayed positive, even when being grilled (by us) about their questionable pricing system--which, on every visit, seemed to have changed for the better. Hey, give it 'til March Madness, and it might be reasonable.

I was quite sure, that I would write my first 'first review' today but thanks to Mordy I only happen to be the second. Though it opened on friday and still has no awning outside.
This place is awsome. We watched the New York Jets match today, starting the season and it s the best place to watch football!! They have loads of screens, booths you can reserve, a private room, a little outside space....AND will also show soccer!!!
Good Oktoberfest beer, Hendricks.....
There are no more words to say than: check it out!! -

I'll give this the benefit of the doubt since it opened only a couple days ago, and truthfully, I love the staff at Bull's Head Tavern (some of the absolutely most wonderful bartenders in the city), and to learn that this comes from one of their managers/bartenders is not only a surprise (it's much different in style) but also a treat. Kinks are definitely still being worked out, as with any new place.
The space is really sleek, and it kind of reminds me of really upscale restaurants with it's airs to granite looking bars and walls but kind of has a oddly hip flair with the grill trimmed plasmas built into the walls and the really cool white booths in between the two main rooms. It's not really a good sports bar per se, but it does have a lot of tvs, basically everywhere you turn. It's not as big as I thought, although I didn't go upstairs (I saw stairs, I'm pretty sure there's another level). I was watching the Pats demolish the Jets today and I was able to catch bits of almost all the NFL action on other screenings. The front room has two row of tvs, that's how many there are.
Their menu should be up in a couple weeks, for now you can order in from other places. It's unmarked on the outside, and there's a small backyard to chill with a couple seats, but that's good for one small group only. The best area is the bar; it's in the back, and basically it's got tables that people can gather around (rather than seating taking up the small space).
I didn't reserve a table, but a couple guys who were going to reserve a table got a bit frustrated at the fact that if you do reserve one, it's a weird minimum system, I heard 30 dollars a person, another thing I overheard was some hourly rate. I would double check about that before sitting down; it also could be something that has to do with NFL Sundays specifically.
I only had a couple pints of Bud Light at five apiece, I'm sure bottles were probably 4, and they have all the usual on tap, Guinness, etc. Their drink menu includes some wines and basic cocktails upgraded with better materials.
I'd definitely recommend this for less crowded sports events, it's a nice change of pace, an actual bar where you can watch any sport in a different, more refined environment, in the LES no less. Who knows, when I come back for a game later in the season to try the food, I just may bump it up to four stars. -
Review from Adam R.
Let's get this out of the way first and foremost. If it's a Sunday night, and the first weekend of NFL, and you turn on the VMA's instead of the Sunday night game, you are not a sports bar. You are a bar that happens to have some TVs playing sports on it.
That being said, I really like the booth setup they have. And I'm sure it's different on a Friday or Saturday night, but there wasn't a minimum enforced for the Sunday game. Which was nice.
Wings were decent. The garlic ones proved pretty tasty. Fries were average. Beer good. And the bacon-wrapped shrirmp were delicious, but they better be for $4 per shrimp. -

Surprisingly, I liked this place but I think it's more because of the company!
K is really into UFC, so K gathered up a group of people to watch UFC. I know about UFC but I never watched it before.
Cool atmosphere - laid back and just chill.
Good Sangria...perhaps not for people who loves the taste of alcohol but I enjoyed it.
Had my first Cafe Patron - delish! Me loves Tequila! I didn't know Patron was making other flavours!
Asian Waitress was very attentive - so yayers!
The next UFC...I am totally going to be there! -

This review is based on my experience as both their customer and neighbor.
I'm generally not a sports bar guy, but for what it is I don't think you can do much better than this place. I don't understand those who give 3 stars and write reviews like "cool if you want to catch a game, otherwise not so much." That's like saying "this dentist is good, but don't come if you have an ear infection."
I'd give it 4 stars, but I give them one extra because I lived right above it for a while. They were never too loud (good insulation) and even when you could hear them, it's only on Fridays and Saturdays and they close at 2. They are very clean around the building. The doormen and bartenders are nice and friendly even when they are having a smoke. Their drunks behave a lot better than the drunks from up, down and across the street. One complaint is that I could always smell their burgers when I'm starving.
I live above a pizzeria now and I kinda miss the Blue Seats. -

A surprisingly sweet sports bar. The service left a little to be desired though. PLENTY of TVs throughout... I wish I'd had a booth because it's TV overload in there -- perfect, in my opinion. Instead I sat at the bar with a friend as we watched college football and a boxing match on HBO.
The problem with the bar I was at (and tell me if this doesn't make any sense to you either) was that the bartender had to keep running back and forth between our bar and the larger bar in the back every time someone ordered a drink. There was plenty of liquor at our bar but no beer, so this girl was darting back and forth every 2 minutes to get people drinks. Not very efficient, and kind of annoying when she was never around and we wanted to get another beer or change the TV channel. And then she kept going outside to have a cigarette. When she was around, she wasn't very attentive and she forgot to fill our order a bunch of times. Not a big deal, but come on, it's your job to get people stuff and be attentive... then we noticed a few items on our bill that didn't belong. Luckily we caught them.
The food was actually good though -- not great, but much better than your average sports bar. I would recommend the hanger steak (awesome chimichurri spicy sauce) or the burger sampler. And the french fries... oh man... the fries. I'm 90% sure they just had a busboy run down to a McDonald's and pick up a batch, and then add like 10 pounds of salt. They were absolutely perfect. I wanted to try some oysters but I just didn't trust the quality of raw seafood from a place like this.
Another positive was a pretty good bottled beer selection... I had read a review on Yelp that the draft beer was no good so I had some good stuff in bottles. The private rooms are sweet but they are apparently really expensive. If you go here, be sure to make a reservation for a booth to get a much better experience... I'll probably go back for another big football game or boxing match, but for the typical sporting event I'll just head to a standard sports bar that's more low key. -

I have serious mixed feelings about this place.
Leaning heavily on No.
It does have a nicer ambience than most sports bars.
The bathrooms are passibly clean.
They have UFC night!! That in itself, makes this place worth coming to!!
The tight railroad style layout leaves you feeling cramped though.
They have a private room you can reserve that have multiple tvs, but that is EXPENSIVE!!
There are these little booths you can reserve which provides you with your own private tv. Plus you have 3 smaller tvs by the wall that can show different channels. But you have to call the wait staff to change the channel for you....WTH?!?!
Personally, I hang out at the tables by the bar.
Couple of reasons:
1. Plenty of tvs both behind and across from the bar.
2. Close to the bar, you don't have to depend on the waitstaff. OMG! The waitress sucks! She forgets orders, takes way too long and has an attitude problem. ( She IS overworked, since both times I've been there, she was the only waitstaff for the ENTIRE place. But that's a management issue!!) P.S. It seems she has a thing for tall black men Seeing how I fit none of that description, I don't bother holding my breath trying to get her attention. I just go to the bar.
3. Easier access to both the bathrooms. -
Review from Danny P.
Here's the irony of a place called The Blue Seats ... none of the seats were blue.
At the end of the day, this really is more club than sports bar, but it does a good job of filling in for one when you need a place to watch the game and you happen to be in the area. I mean, it's the East Village, not really a particular hot spots of 30-something guys trudging out to watch the game. That's what the Upper East Side is for.
That said, if the Blue Seats is showing a game (are showing a game? that's a weird thing to write for a singular location), then you're in good shape. They have a plethora of televisions (big ones, with crisp pictures) and flirty bartenders and that's really my main attraction to a bar. The wings are good (I preferred the asian sesame to the garlic, but both are better than the buffalo) and if you have a couple of people, there's a back room and an upstairs area that looks as though they'd let you rent it out. There are even booths with individual sound and lots of mini-tv's.
But the seats in those booths are gray. See what I mean? -

It is great looking sport bar with many tv screens, it is overwhelming because there are like 60 tvs going at once.
In order to seat in one of the cool seats is expesive, basically I cannot afford it.
I ordered three drinks from the bartender they didn't know how to prepared them.
However they place is a nice place to watch a game.
I might defined it like the 5th ave. of sport bars. Because it is clean and expensive, even though you an get the same beer and treatment in a least flashy place. -

While it's marketed as a sports bar it presents more of a sports lounge type vibe. They have these booths which you have to reserve but they come with tv's in them. While blue seats is a lot nicer then most sports bars there are a few things that just bring it down.
First of all the service is piss poor. We walked to the back and there was a couple at the bar, a guy sitting by himself, and then myself with my friend. It was 2pm on a Saturday and yet our waitress didn't take our order for a soild 10minutes.
We ordered a blue moon, some draft I don't remember, a small order of fried calamari, chicken quesadillas, and fish and chips.
After about 25minutes or so the calamari came out and it was awful. It wasn't even remotely fresh. It tasted like it had been thawed and stuck under a heat lamp.
Luckily the entrees redeemed themselves. Both the quesadillas and the fish and chips were quite good. I thought at $17 dollars the fish and chips were slightly overpriced.
When we got our bill I noticed my blue moon was $7 dollars. I understand this place is in the LES but to me thats fucking ridiculous.
While this place was nice and cool. The combination of shitty service, inconsistent food, and high prices will keep me away. I'll stick to my shitty dive bar to watch the next college football game. -

I'm torn by this place, I visited it when it first opened in the "boom" times and the attitude of the owners sucked, they wanted to charge by the hour plus drinks +++ for seating during games.....it really added up.
Fast forward to today and they seem to be trying harder, cute staff, excellent food menu and a good drinks selection (few deals).
When I visited tonight there was one special beer $4 a six points IPA. Wine was $9 - very ordinary quality but decent selection.
Mini burgers, mini pork sliders at $4 seem ok until you remember Pianos across the street will sell you a full size beast for just $5.
I plumped for the surf and turf - $14. mini lobster roll & a slider with fries.
The surf & the turf were actually very good, lobster fresh and juicy with no too much mayo, the burger was perfectly cooked but the fries were frozen flavorless sticks.....sadly.
To summarize I would say it's a good sports bar - TV's are everywhere but it could be great - a better happy hour - more beer selection & more food.
I'd like to explore a corporate happy hour here, it's a great size for this.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Agree with Oliver T that the outside does not hint at what it's like inside.
Went here last night with some friends to watch NYG/NYJ preseason game and was blown away. The burger was one of the best I've had in awhile, on an english muffin, and not as pricey as you'd expect judging by the decor. The service was very attentive and sitting anywhere in the place you are facing multiple screens. So we could sit facing each other AND all watch football. That's a beautiful thing.
Not the cheapest place (but not stupidly expensive either), but worth the extra small premium to be in such a classy place. Will definitely back here for Yankees post-season madness. -

its a good sports bar for the LES. It is very cramped though which i don't enjoy. get there early because the place fills up and the standing room sometimes blocks other peoples views.
it has personal TV' s at each booth (kinda like a diner booth) so you get to select your games of choice. they have a small room upstairs for parties to rent which is a nice addition. there is also a room in the far back that looks like a personal home theater with surround sound but i am sure these rooms need renting ahead of time.
not the best sports bar in town but it definitely has a "wow" appeal -

Walked into this place in a bit of a drunken state as I was in New York for the first time and had been bar-hopping all day. We were the first ones to arrive and were greeted by a friendly waitress who was going on a date with Dustin Hoffman's son later in the week (AWESOME!!!!). I didn't eat because I was on a liquid diet, but my gf and friend both ate all of their food and claimed to enjoy it. Upon review of my bank account I spent a good amout on drinks, so I would say it is a little pricey, but I might have picked up my gfs meal and drinks so I don't know for sure. The booths looked like they would be fun to sit at with a group.

this was possibly the best find on my most recent trip to new york.
amazing staff, friendly as can be. reasonable (for nyc, bear in mind) prices, good beer selection, and a kickass bartender who is willing to humor me by helping me play a trick on the rest of my party. high life in a champagne glass is for winners, just sayin.
also? their slider list is intense. every one we tried was good, but i'm kind of in love with the carolina burger. it's a cheeseburger, sure, but it has pulled pork and slaw on the top! WHO THINKS OF THINGS LIKE THIS?! why didn't i? it's the best idea EVER!
we got in at noon on a sunday before anyone else came in and it was perfect. got to see whatever games we asked for, and got to talk with the staff during the slow times too. friendly company from all over the place, and a central location. bigger than it looks, too. five stars from me. i'm definitely going back again. -

This is my favorite sports bar in Manhattan- trendy with tons of TV's including many HD Tvs...HD alone is harder to find in NYC. They show all the games. It's not the biggest bar and can get crowded - you can get reserve a booth, but it's quite easy to get to the minimum $200 with 7-8 people. Food is above average bar fare.

I am not a sports or sports bar fan, but I LOVE Blue Seats. The state of the art, chic, modern style is so appealing. I had fried mozzarella and sliders and they were delish. They didn't have all the beers they listed on the menu on tap. I guess they were freshly out, but that's about the only complaint I have about this place. The staff was great, friendly, and efficient. Piece of advice: if you want to watch a game there, be sure to make reservations. We were there on a non-game night and every single table was already booked. I would assume on a game night, it's a lot worse.

I met up with some friends to watch Game 3 of the Blackhawks/Red Wings series. There were a lot of us and we got there just after 7pm so we dominated 3 tables in the back, which made for a much more pleasant time. I didn't have any food but the friends that did said it was decent. The service was excellent. I could sit anywhere and see the game since almost every inch of wall space is occupied by a TV.

We showed up with no reservations to watch the first McCain-Obama debate and had an altogether pretty decent experience. It's a sleek lounge with white leather booths, a dark atmosphere lit by blue lights, lots of flat screen TVs and nice new furniture. It appears to be a sports bar for those in the over-20s crowd who may want nice surroundings, good food and a decent cocktail with their TV watching.
There are several large television screens in the front and back rooms and both have full bars in them. We showed up at 8, an hour before the debate, and got bar stools in a comfy corner in the back room for the 5 of us. When it wasn't busy, the waitress served us very promptly, and even when it was busy, she still remembered to come back to our little corner to pick up our empty glasses and bring us another round. They had good drink specials -- several cocktails and beers for $5. I ordered the $5 "Blue" cocktail in honor of Obama, a fish sandwich and a side of fries and my bill came to less than $40. When I can have 3 cocktails and a meal for that price I consider it a pretty good night. And the food was yummy -- the fish was lightly fried and came on some kind of thick flat bread that was a cross between sourdough and focaccia (I'm obviously no foodie). It came with a house made tartar sauce and some other dressing that I couldn't quite place but tasted awesome with the fries. The fries were the skinny kind and arrived hot even though the place was packed.
I'll definitely go back to watch another big TV event but next time I'll be sure to call like, a month in advance to make a reservation. When we tried to make one the day of they told us the booths and tables had been booked for weeks! -

I came here to watch the VP debate last week and think I may have found my new favorite place to watch a game. They have huge flat screen TVs surrounding the entire place--even the private booths between the two main bar areas were equipped with their own TVs. No matter where you're sitting, you always have a great view of at least 2-3 TV screens, so you can't go wrong. I'll definitely be back here one weekend to actually check out the daytime football scene.

I'm no crazed sports fan but oddly, I've wound up at Blue Seats three times in the past month. First for one of the Celtics Lakers games where we sat in a white leather booth with five TVs just for us! There is a $200 minimum tab in the booth but with five or six people, you'd be surprised how quickly we reached that 200 with pitchers and food. Lots and lots of food. Their menu offers more than just greasy wings and soggy burgers; they have a variety of sliders, a wings tasting plate, quesadillas, rigatoni (!?!!) among other yummy dishes. The other two times were for a couple EuroCup games and I just sat in the front. There isn't much room but if you can snag a seat your biggest problem will be which of the dozen TVs to watch.

From the outside you'd never know how great this place is. Awesome setup, private booths with several TV's showing different games. There are two downstairs bars, one in the front and one in the back. Apparently there is also an upstairs area but it was closed for a private party. I was here for the Eastern Conf Finals and all of the tables and booths were reserved, so call ahead. We found three seats at the bar and enjoyed the game there. Great beer selection and great food. Hot bartender too, little on the snotty side but she did hook us up with free shots.

came here to celebrate nye and had an awesome experience. it's a pretty lowkey place considering all the other bars/lounges around there like libations, whiskey ward, etc. and from the outside you would not expect much on the inside. wasn't crowded at all and our waitress was excellent. she kept the tables clear of empty bottles, cans, glasses and plates as well as always being around and checking up on us
prices were pretty good as well, brooklyn lager's for $6/pop, pretty strong sangria's for $5/pop and i had the blue seat burger for $12 cooked to the temp i asked for (medium rare). a little overboard on the blue cheese but it tasted pretty good
there is no shortage of tv's so i have to come back here for some sporting events but from what i've experienced my first time there on a night when everyone's supposed to be out celebrating, i was not disappointed and will be coming back -

Dropped by for some food after watching a set across the street. The maine lobster roll was small (as advertised) but absolutely mouth-wateringly delicious. The hot dog with pulled pork was also pretty tasty and reasonbly priced at $5. The bar itself is pretty nice and there are tons of tvs, including private screens in the booths. I'd definitely come back to watch a game or UFC!

My new favorite bar to watch sports and just chill out with friends! They have these booths with private multi-screen displays of games, and two rooms in the back (one upstairs) that can accomodate private parties. They also have guitar hero, street fighter, and Wii sports set up to play on one of their MANY big screens. Food is pretty good as well! Great spot.

Don't bother. Seriously. Don't bother. I really like this bar - the booths are cool, the decor is cool... but the staff is so outrageously rude that it is absolutely not worth it. There is SO much attitude, first from the bouncers, but it's really the waitresses that take it to another level. This is particularly true if you have a female in the group - the waitresses are attentive to the male patrons (read: tips), but if there's a female within sniffing distance, the claws come out. I have never experienced such blatant disregard for customer service in my life. The food is unremarkable, but again for me, the waitresses ensured that I will never return again.
