Hands down a 5 star joint.
We stayed in a one bedroom cottage with our toddler. It was nicely decorated, clean, and comfy. They had set up a Pack-N-Play for Mateo to sleep in.
We ordered massages: 1.5 hours each and the massage therapist came right to the room. She was outstanding.
The pool is a tiny little drop but it does the trick when you just want to spash around with baby.
Continental breakfast, helpful staff... I could definitely see myself staying there again.

not quite right.
Just got home from a weekend at The Blue Iguana Inn. As cute as this place is, the pitfalls are just too many. The Inn is located right on the 33 Hwy in Ojai. Although Ojai is a small town, this hwy is very loud and the traffic comes to a stop right in front of the hotel at a stop light. The noise is pretty much constant. We were unfortunately staying in a room that was spitting distance from the highway, literally. The inside of the room was decent, clean and cute decor- BUT the noise is bad. So bad that there are white noise machines in each bedroom. Go figure.
In defense of the Inn, I'm sure the noise level has increased a ton in the last five years with more and more visitors, etc... however; they need to balance this out by creating a better atmosphere for their guests in other ways. For example- the pool has no heater. SERIOUSLY.... it has no heater. We were there when it was plenty warm to swim and it was just too cold and uncomfortable to swim. I had asked ahead of time about this and was a little worried about it, but was assured that the temp. was comfortable. It wasn't...
The manager offered us day guest passes to the Ojai Valley Athletic Club to use their pool, but really folks- on a vacation, people want to use the pool... the one at the location their paying for. period. It was just inconvenient, and it insured that we didn't spend any time near the pool.
The continental breakfast is less than appealing. Saran wrapped breakfast breads, babybel cheeses, juice, coffee...
I just feel like given the crappy noise level and location of this place, they should be heating the pool, serving a killer breakfast and doing what they can to make things more comfortable for their paying guests. They've really missed the mark.

A seriously delightful little inn with the absolutely most comfy bed I've ever slept in. We called it The White Cocoon. You couldn't even look at it out of the corner of your eye without falling into a deep, restful sleep.
The decor was tasteful, the place spotless, and the staff super helpful.
We're planning another trip soon, and next time we're bringing our dogs. Yes, they allow dogs.

I really liked the Blue Iguana. The decor was very appealing to me. I like that they allow dogs there and the staff is very accomodating.
There are a couple rooms, 7 and 8, I think - that have rooms above them. I stayed in 7 and even though the bed was great, the tub - amazing, the noise was really bad in the night from the room above. I'm sure they were just moving around normally and just not big sleepers, but man... I need to rest up now that I'm home. Not a lot of sleep. So be warned, be sure there's not a room above yours.
The pool was pleasant, not very quite as it's near the road and the Blue Iguana is a good deal for the area with very nice rooms, so it gets a good crowd.
Would I go back? Yeah, I would. A different room would do the trick for me. It is a lovely place and the people are great... even the noisy kids who splash your book while your trying to read your book over their screams.
