I knew when I started working out again I wanted to compliment my routine with therapeutic massage, to manage any physical issues that might surface over the course of my training.
I've now seen Michael-Ji at the The Better Body Center twice, and both times I've left incredibly relaxed and with greatly reduced stress (can any one ever really be stress free?), while simultaneously feeling like my body had been put through the ringer (but in a totally good way). The Better Body Center is located just a block off of busy Castro street, but you'd never know it, as its soft lighting and soothing audio spirit you away from hubbub outside.
As for the massage, Michael-Ji has a very strong but soothing touch, always mindful of any limits you may have (and I have plenty). His professionalism and demeanor put me quickly at ease, and he is very knowledgeable, providing valuable advice on how to make future therapy sessions more effective, including adding more stretching exercises to my workout routine, etc... Believe me, I need all the help I can get.
I will definitely continue my sessions with Michael-Ji at the Better Body Center. I am sure they will play an important role in my ongoing battle of getting into better shape while improving my mental and physical health. -

Michael-ji has that rare gift to relax you and to make you feel safe and nurtured while being completely professional. What a great oasis this place is in a sea of madness. HIGHLY recommended for anyone with stress, pain and issues in general.

I had my first ever Reiki treatment with Mark Peterson-Estrada of the Better Body Center. It was amazing. I could definitely feel the energy flowing and after the treatment I felt lighter, energized and... "clean" is the only word that comes close to describing it. Mark is a very kind, intuitive person who does great things for the community. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone I know. In fact, I gave my mother 2 treatments for her birthday and she's very excited to meet Mark.

The Better Body Center is a warm, inviting, intimate, peaceful and extremely comfortable environment. You may immediately sense that you are in an environment of loving dedicated health nurturers. I've been seeing massage therapist Dwayne Treat for some years. Not only is he an easy-going, great, considerate guy, he's a master massage therapist. After one of his 90 minute sessions, I'm completely relaxed, peaceful and truly centered. This guy is the real thing and I recommend him to everyone I know. Five stars!

I have some pretty chronic back issues. I went to see Dwayne. What a great personal guy and a great massage therapist. I used to be a dancer and have had a lot of message. He definitely ranks among the top. He was very in tune to my needs and really worked well on the problem areas in my back. He took his time and made sure I got a great message. Now certainly he did not cure my back, but he did provide me some pain free time for about a day. and for me that is great. the atmosphere is soothing and really comfortable.
