My husband and I just returned from a DELIGHTFUL stay at the Ashley Inn. Everything about our stay was pitch perfect.
We aren't huge "bed and breakfast" people, but loved every minute of our time there. The Inn is ADORABLE---beautifully decorated. The complimentary breakfast every morning is a full breakfast with entree options--everything was just delicious. All of the personal touches you desire, but we were still able to maintain privacy.
Fred was just helpful enough without every seeming pushy---he gave us tips on how to get to a good beach and even let us borrow beach towels, chairs and an umbrella.
We were in one of the smaller rooms. It was very comfortable. The bathroom was INCREDIBLY small---the one drawback of the stay--but you'll notice it didn't prevent me from giving 5 stars. The Inn was far and away less expensive than almost every other we researched, but no less charming or comfortable.
If we are ever able to return to Edgartown, we will stay there again in a heartbeat. -

Before staying here, I had never been to a bed and breakfast before. They did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome, and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. There were four very different choices every morning, plus fresh fruit and pastry.
We purchased the "Romance Package". My only complaint with that package is that the champagne they gave us was less than half the size of a regular bottle. It was only enough for one glass each. We were definitely disapointed.
The staff was extrememly knowledgable about what to do around town, and were very helpful to us when we were trying to plan our day. They even lent us a beach umbrella that nobody was using that day.
I would definitely go back, but not during peak season. I don't think it is worth the mark-up in July. -

My family and I have stayed at the Ashley Inn for years. Fred, the owner, and his family do an amazingly wonderful job at making guests feel completely at home and fully pampered while staying at the Ashley. From the adorably decorated rooms to the decadent breakfasts and afternoon teas, the Ashley is a truly a gem nestled in the heart of Edgartown.
