So the last thing this place needs is another 5 star slammin review.

But I'm actually not writing this for any of you so I don't give a damn what you read.

I'm writing this to MYSELF!

Everyone who knows me knows that I hate norcal, with a passion.  We've all heard well known saying of ManJose, Manfrancisco, blah blah blah, but I've found a new reason to stop chasing the hot Silicone women of Socal and finally get my grub on in Silicon Valley.

I was "LITERALLY" saying, "eh, All Thai food tastes the same!"..."just add peppers and chili make it hot...and edible"

Dear goodness.  I ate my words and all my food, and all my friends food too...literally!

Lunch special! You kidding me! Tom Yum, great salad, and something on the menu called "Angry!"  Looking back, I completely forgot to ask for the triple tray of hot peppers and spices.  Probably shouldn't write that and risk losing my Korean card.

All of the other lunch dishes were great as well, I know because I polished them off like a white guys first time to korean bbq.

Yeah yeah yeah, ambiance was fantastic (dark bamboo flooring, waterfalls) , service was stellar.  Couldn't really care as I might have been eating with my face in a feed bag.

So. David note to self: Even though the best view of Silicon Valley is in your rear view mirror, don't forget to hit this place.  Or bribe them to open a 90210 location.

Wouldn't it suck to WAIT for tables for ~ 30+ minutes or maybe even hours+  with friends you haven't hung out with in a long time on a saturday night?

WELL i didnt :) hehehe. i had the most amazing time with amazing people such as Joy Y. and Susan Y. (LOL i always wanted to write other yelpers on my reviews lol )
SO we were supposed to be going to krung thai because that was my favorite thai restaurant. but it was WAY too crowded and wait time was too long, so MOVE ON OVER BUDDY

We arrived, not a lot of people were there, WHICH WAS GREAT NEWS FOR US! we quickily got seated and got our menus. The surrounding was peaceful and calm. there was a bar inside with a whole wall filled with wine! WOWOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOW once i turn 21 i'm going to try this place with their wine!!! It kinda felt like we were eating in a jungle restaurant. a dark jungle restaurant... i dont really know how to explain it ahha. but it was very nice and exotic @_@

SO we got a couple of things. the tom yum soup, pad thai, house fried rice, and mussamun curry.  and LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. WOW. the rice. was. freakin. super juicy.. so savory and so rich. super delicious. WOW. Joy Y. was crazy over the rice. you shouldve seen her face. AHAHHAHA jk :) the mussamun curry did not disappoint. it went VERY well with the pad thai and the fried rice. deliciousss.the tom yum soup was less sour than any other place so it was good! :) i like it not too sour.

Service wasnt that bad, but it took kind of a long time to get our check and give it to the waiter. but amazing. :) it was good stuff. we left happy and full and ready for dessert. i havent had a good saturday like that in a LONG time :) hehehe

I don't even like Thai food that much and I liked this place! Ha... Service isn't so bad, but when it gets busy it quickly goes downhill. You may need to flag the waiter down when he's dashing back to the kitchen if you need him. Luckily, I've never come here in a rush, so it doesn't really bother me so much.

I've had the spicy basil pork and they do make it nicely spicy. The boy usually gets one of the curries and they aren't terribly heavy on the coconut milk like a lot of places, and they use a good kick of spices.

What do you get when you cross Thailand and Cambodia? Thaibodia of course. I always thought it was the funniest name for a restaurant and then I learned that Thailand and Cambodia share similar cultures. All right, enough history.

Food here is good. We tried several, I mean several dishes:
- Papaya Salad w/ Shrimp $9.95 (large portion, fresh)
- Tom Yum Soup $9.95 for the large (spicy!)
- Pad Khee Mow Noodles $8.95 with shrimp (one of the favorites with red bell peppers and basil)
- Roti (Nice and crisp with red curry sauce)
- Angry Beef $7.95 (Love the name of this dish, the anger comes from the spicy sauce - very tasty)
- Brown Rice $2 per big bowl (they have different rice offerings - coconut, sticky rice, plain steamed as well)
- Green Curry with Chicken and Eggplant $8.50 (perennial favorite and great on rice)
- Sticky Rice with Mango $5 (young mangos with tart and sweetness combined with the chewiness and texture of the sticky rice. yum)
- Fried Banana with Ice Cream $4.50 (not my favorite just because I like my bananas without the tempura batter)

The 6 of us left with no leftovers because we were stuffed! Great food, casual but well thought out decor (note lucky elephants), and friendly attentive service.

Great Thai food with a great value for lunch!  For 6.99, you get soup, salad, and 15+ choices.

Upon sitting, we were immediately served salad and soup without even ordering yet.  Service was good, and attentive.

The soup was very smooth, lightly sweet and a hint of curry taste.
I had the Spicy Noodle with beef.  It reminds me of drunken noodle (Pad Ki Mao) but without the super basil taste (there was basil in the dish).  The entire dish was full of flavor and had a good kick of spicy.  The beef was cooked just right (no chewiness) and had great flavor.  The serving size could be a tad bigger, but I left full so I'm a happy camper.

They also have a decent selection of wines: Beringer, Stone Cellar, Meridian, Mondavi, Estancia, and others I don't remember.

Overall, a great lunch spot in Santa Clara for under $10.

This place serves some of the best Pad See Ew I've ever had.  The corn cakes are also tasty, but were a little heavy on the ginger when I ordered them.

Service was very good and there were plenty of open tables both times I visited.  I will definitely be going back for more!

I came here with a few of my friends for my friend's birthday dinner.  We came around 8pm and there was nobody here.  Maybe it was because the weather was gloomy and rainy and that usually meant pho - at least for some people I know.  This place was located next to a Mr. Chau's and inside, looked very cozy.  The decor was pretty nice, too.

I ordered a pad thai ($7.95) with chicken and my friends ordered their own things.  I don't remember what they ordered but I tried their food and it was good.  The pad thai was very similar to the Krung Thai locations and it was delicious!  The portion was large and enough to make you full if you ordered pad thai only.  I was full when I finished it but satisfied.  I was pretty hungry too so that says something about the portion unless it's just me...

We all ordered our own dishes which meant no room for soup or anything else.  I will have to come back to try their curry and tom yum soup, among other things.

Came to try their pad see ew and their fresh rolls(non deep fried).  The pad see ew was definitely tasty with lots of veggies and spices....I asked for mine with tofu and they threw a lot of them in there.  The fresh rolls however I wasn't too big on.  It was chicken wrapped in a huge handful of chopped lettuce and herbs.  The dipping sauce was kind of a light vinegar based sauce.  It was a nice accompaniment to my pad see ew since he was a lot of veggies to balance out my meal but probably not the tastiest thing on the menu.

I'll come here again since Penang Village is now gone and Dusita's parking lot is as small as a Manhattan apartment.

Came here again. The waiter didn't make an appearance for a good 10 minutes. I'd understand if they were busy but we were the ONLY people there. The hostess obviously seated us so they knew we were there. The waiter never reappeared after he brought our food until he showed up with the check.  -1 star.

Here is the weird part. We over-ordered and asked to take a bunch of our food to go and when we got home I saw 3 tiny boxes in the to go bag. He saved a spoonful or two from every dish we had. Which makes me think they are just taking the untouched food from the family plates and re-serving them... -1 star.

Whatever, there are plenty of great Thai places around, I don't have to come back to this one. That was an unexpectedly sour experience from a great restaurant.

This place has become one of my new favorite Thai restaurants in the south bay.  It's a little hidden in a strip mall so it doesn't really stand out.  It's also probably a reason I've never eaten there till now.  The decor is very contemporary, nicer then most of the other Thai restaurants in the area.  It's a little unexpected with all the other random stores and the Chinese Fast food restaurant that surround it.

We came here with a big group so I had a taste of a bunch of dishes.  Some of the dishes we tried were the Green Curry, Pad Khee Mow, Tom Yum Soup,  Spicy beef Salad and the Papaya Salad.  All the food we had was delicious.  My favorites were probably the Salads and  the Pad Khee Mow.  Most of the dishes were ordered with medium spiciness.  Spiciness was probably on the lower side for what I typically get for a medium.  The only dish that didn't impress me was the Green Curry.  The veggies in the curry were a little under cooked for my tastes.

I'm definitely coming back here when I crave Thai Food.

This is a GREAT lunch spot in Santa Clara away from the crowds at Oakmead Village.  Their lunch specials are very reasonably priced at $6.99 (entree, soup and salad).  The menu has a great selection: 12 "sauces" and you can pick what kind of meat or tofu.  I personally love eggplant beef!  It's fragrant, subtly sweet and not too salty.  Delicious!

The only gripe might be that the owners and all the workers are Chinese and a few speak horrible English.  Might have to repeat yourself when you order, but the food is great!

This place had became my favorite Thai place around San Jose.  Leagues above Thai Pepper (Cupertino/Sunnyvale) and Krung Thai.

Price is very reasonable, especially if you come during lunch.  Their food is full of contrasting and complementing flavors.

Too bad this place isn't located closer to where we live.  But, still, wife and I don't mind driving to this little gem just for their food.  And, we have revisited many times.

The Catch:  The only dish that I would avoid  (personal preference) is the crispy calamari.  The batter just didn't suit my pallet, and the sauce that came with it was kinda boring.

Suggestions to the Operator:  Thanks for providing the spice rack.  It would be nice if the birds eye chili in the fish sauce can be cut slightly smaller.  I know doing so will take a bit more time, but this might help make the sauce even better.

This place is unassuming from the strip mall it's located in but it's a different world once you're inside. The place is contemporary, tastefully decorated, warm and inviting. The restaurant is large and has plenty of seating and looks like it is frequented by some regulars which is always a good sign in my book.

Although there were multiple pages of vegetarian dishes, I chose to stick with my usual - rama thai tofu - steamed spinach, tofu cubes, and topped with peanut sauce ($6.95) and a side of steamed rice ($1).  This dish arrived promptly and I could smell garlic all over it.  I took the first bite and had a garlic explosion in mouth - confirming what my nose had already known!  mehhh! The description of the dish said nothing about garlic! I'm not a fan of garlic, not even the tiny bit that they sneak into all italian dishes, let alone having my tofu and peanut sauce swimming in it! I had my friend taste it to confirm that it wasn't just me - she too was overwhelmed by the garlic in this dish. What a disappointment.

Otherwise, the experience was great! Fabulous service - water refills were frequent and we were seated immediately. They also did not rush us through our meal which is always a relief. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous.

Bottom line, I'm willing to give this place another shot just because the ambiance and service were so good but will definitely try another dish

What an awesome place, with awesome service, tasty food, variety of flavor and even a super cute clean bathroom. This place belongs in a trendy neighborhood, but it's worth coming back to this strip mall because the everything about this place is great.

Came with a table of 8 people and here was some of what we ordered :
-Sampler appetizer, good for first time since we didn't know what everything was like, the fried rice on it was like a Thai rice crispy.
-Fish Cakes, nicely fried not too oily
-Tom Yum Soup, nicely sour with a good broth that wasn't oily like many other places
-Pad See Ewh, not ewh but YUM
-Hor Mok with rock cod, was nicely steamed and good mildly spicy flavor in a little bubbled foil
-Spicy Catfish, wasn't too spicy, came with eggplant and again solid dish
-Fried Banana dessert and the rice mango pudding was my favorite

Just try everything here, we had no bad dishes at all and everything was well priced. All the food came out really fast and piping hot too. This place is good for a group, business lunch or even a quiet date dinner. The interior is nicely completed with finished decorations, elephants and comfortable cushioned seats, so it'll impress anyone even if the strip mall isn't pleasing. Lasting impression was the insanely nice and pleasant wait staff that really made us feel at home. I can't wait to go back! Don't change a thing.

Went to lunch at Thaibodia today. Their lunch menu is very reasonably priced at $6.99 for three courses (salad, soup, and main course). I ordered the Basil Beef, and loved it. They are very efficient in serving - they start the salad right after you sit down, soup comes quickly, and by the time you're done with it, the main course is ready. Amazing!

I had been there before for dinner, and loved it as well.

This place is truly amazing and I mean amazing! It's located in a small shopping center on El Camino. The interior is real nice and classy, creating the perfect ambiance and mood for a casual date.

When me and the bf came, the place wasn't too busy, so we were seating rather quickly. The server was very nice and attentive. We ended up ordering the crispy wrap, the tom yum soup with shrimp, chicken pad thai, fried rice with beef, and thai iced tea. A lot of food for the night, but I must say the food truly was delicious and mouth-watering.

The crispy wraps were unique and very crunchy. The shrimp was very succulent and juicy with the outside of an egg roll type of texture. Drizzle it with some Thai sweet sauce and you have the perfect appetizer. The tom yum soup was my favorite part of the whole meal. With the sweet and sour taste of the mild soup with mushrooms, shrimp, and other vegetables, I think the taste was delectable and memorable. I'm actually craving the soup right now just thinking about it!

The pad thai was pretty average, not too crazy good, but just your normal pad thai that you can get at any Thai restaurant. It was pretty much the same with the fried rice as well. Good, but nothing to extraordinary. I'd say I enjoyed the appetizers more than the actual main courses. And of course the thai iced tea was bomb dot com.

Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my visit here and plan on coming to this restaurant more often in the future. The service is superb, the food is delish, the interior is very nice, and the prices are reasonable. One word, SCORE!

My fiance and I went here for lunch on Friday, November 20. The restaurant was packed during lunch time! We arrived before noon, so we didn't wait in line for a table.

It's interesting how the restaurant automatically gives you the lunch special menu. Haha. What happens when you want to order something else off the dinner menu?

We received our complimentary salad and soup. The salad was a bit uninspiring with the vinegar dressing. The soup was interesting.

My fiance ordered the pad thai with shrimp. It was a bit disappointing. There were only four shrimp in the dish. The pad thai was on the sweet side, but overall it was tasty.

I had the spicy eggplant basil with shrimp. Again, there was four shrimp in the dish. In addition, it wasn't even spicy. I liked how the eggplant was cooked since it wasn't mushy. The sauce was tasty too.

I would go back for lunch if I was in the area. It's a good price for $7.

Food: Yummy
Service: Friendly
Price: Great!

Thaibodia is my favorite Thai place for lunch (and dinner, if you choose!). The lunch specials are a steal at $6.95 with at least 10 different choices that include salad and soup. The portions are also plentiful. Pretty authenthic Thai flavors! I've never had anything cooked badly here.

The food is also on the spicy side. So be prepared to order mild if you can't handle the heat!

The decor inside is also very inviting. I love the bamboo-stalk faucets in the bathroom!

So sad I work too far to come here for lunch now, but I do try to go any other chance I get!

Went to Thaibodia last night with 3 friends (Sunday night around 7).  We ordered the pad thai, yellow curry, hor moc and pad see ew with beef.  All of the dishes were delicious! None of them disappointed and the hor moc, which is the house specialty, was quite interesting since it came wrapped in a foil ball and you peel it back and scoop it out.

I'm actually drooling just thinking about the pad see ew.  It was my first time trying that dish, but it was soooo good.  The pad thai was definitely good as well, just not the best pad thai I've ever had.  The ambiance of the place is definitely cute and the service was great as well.  I will definitely come back to this place the next time I'm in Santa Clara and craving thai food. Yum!

Been to quite a few thai resteraunts looking for one that wows us and this was it. The fried rice was mmmmm, but the best was the cashew nutt tofu. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Overall

It's just whatevers. I gave it a 3 out of 5 because decor is nice on the inside as well as the service, but the food is not up to par with the competition.

Food

It's not bad, but it's not great either. Definitely not memorable, but if you're really craving Thai and in a bind, and this place is across from your house, then all good. But I would not go across town to find this place if that makes sense. I tried about 5-6 different plates here, including the soup, pad thai, fish, duck salad, some kind of chicken salad, and the green curry. My opinion: Krung Thai still edges this restaurant out in terms of taste, but Thaibodia does feel like they give you more volume.

Service

They do have kind, fast, attentive service.

Decor

It's nicely decorated, a bit on the small side, but they don't seem slammed like Krung Thai, so I don't think that's an issue.

Overall 3 out of 5. Food is around a 2 or 3, not bad, not great. Service and Decor help boost them up to a solid 3 out of 5.

This is was a surprise...the shopping center they are located in is a bit old and ghetto but the inside of the restaurant was so comfortable and nicely decorated.  I really enjoyed all the arts they have on the walls.

the lunch specials was only $6.99 -comes with your entree, rice, soup and salad. what a deal!!

The dish I ordered was a bit greasy but aside from that , I really enjoyed my lunch and so did my coworker....will be back for more in the future to try out more stuff.

the servers are both very friendly too!! thumbs up.

Just got take out from this place.  I walked in (it was a Saturday night around 6:50pm) and the place was empty.  People are probably home finishing up their football games.  The place was super cute looking even though located in a ghetto shopping center next to Mr. Chau's.  Anyway! I ordered the appetizer sampler, chicken pad thai, and thai iced tea.  The tea was yummy, pad thai was perfect (comparable to Krung Thai!), and most of the appetizer sampler items were good.  These included: 2 sticks of chicken satay (which I heard was really yummy with a delicious peanut sauce as it was eaten in 2 seconds), 4 pieces of fried tofu (this was OK), 2 veggie egg rolls, 2 crispy wrapped shrimps, veggie tempura, and crispy noodle.

Anyway, it was a cute spot and the food was really good.  Thai food is usually hit or miss for me, so this place was definitely a hit in terms of taste and ambiance. Too bad it was empty on a Saturday night...

To say that "I've experienced better" would probably be the most accurate statement but I give it 3 stars because I don't think my experience was that bad.

My husband and I decided to meet today for our anniversary and I have had this place bookmarked for a while. My husband has tried it twice before with co-workers and always said it was "okay" but I still wanted to try it out.

We got here at 11:20am to beat the lunch crowd. This place is really cute inside and much fancier then the shopping complex that it is in.  The decor is nice and the feeling is comfortable and inviting.

We were cordially seated by the window and received waters right away. I was pleasantly surprised to see that their lunch menu is only $6.99. What a deal! I ordered the basil eggplant with tofu and my husband ordered thick noodles (Drunken noodle). He asked for Thai hot and threatened the waiter that he wanted it hot and if it wasn't hot he was sending it back (LOL--they always underestimate his abilities to handle spicy)

We received a nice bowl of soup and salad that I enjoyed. It was light and refreshing. Our food arrived and it came on uniquely shaped white plates. My food looked good but it wasn't as tasty as I had hoped. The food was lukewarm but I could tell that it was freshly made. I am not an expert on Thai food but this isn't authentic I don't think. I spent 3 weeks in Thailand last year and got to truly experience real Thai food and this did not taste like it. The food here is a lot sweeter. I didn't dislike my food but it wasn't what I expected. Krung Thai still holds the ranks for me as the best Thai food in the area.  My husband's Drunken Noodles were not spicy enough for him and totally forgettable

Service is okay here too....nothing fabulous. We asked for chili sauce when our food came and it never came. We had to ask again and then it came out. By that time, we were halfway through our meal. Most Thai places have these on the table already.

I might be back if someone wanted to come here but I probably wouldn't pick it on my own.

this place is on its way to becoming my favorite thai restaurant.  not only is it beautifully decorated- but the food is fantastic, and the price is not outrageous either.

unlike other restaurants [cough krungthai cough] the portions at this establishment were actually not too bad.  it is almost completely empty when we came by on a tuesday night, which seems almost a shame, but not really, because the boy and i just pretended that we were super special.  sort of.  haha.

on to the food.  we weren't feeling for pineapple, so we ended up with regular house fried rice- and it was savory and delicious without it being overtly salty [hooray].  i don't quite remember the type of fish that this dish came in, but it had onions and was doused in this sweet/ spicy sauce that had me gushing in happiness yet left the boy clamoring for copious amounts of water.  guess he just can't handle the heat ;]

all in all, if you can overlook the sketchy strip mall that this place is located at, as well as the mediocre tom yum soup, this is definitely the real deal.  too bad i didn't visit this place earlier- they were handing out 20% off coupons at school!

I've been here a few times for lunch and I'm pretty impressed with the food.  It's not in the best plaza, but it's off a main road, El Camino Real so it's in a convenient area.  Both time I've come here has been on a weekend and it's pretty quiet, but I didn't mind as they provide good service.

Compared to other Thai places, the food portion is pretty big for similar prices.  I like that the food is not overly seasoned and that their stir fry dishes are not swimming in sauce like Krung Thai.  I've had their Pineapple Fried Rice, Seafood Pad Thai, Duck Curry, Malaysian Chicken Curry, Panang Beef Curry, and Malaysian Basil Chicken.  I recommend all except the Malaysian Chicken Curry which was a little too creamy.

The only cons about this place is that they give you room temperature water so you have to ask for ice water and the food always seem to take long after you order.

Got the lunch special, Red Curry with Tofu and Brown Rice. Complimentary Tom Yum soup tasted like tomato soup (tomato based broth, I'm sure), so I just ate the tofu and veggies out of it. The salad looked lame so I didn't eat it. The red curry smelled kind of like feet, but tasted alright, and not of feet. Tofu, bell peppers (red and green), bamboo shoots (big pieces!), basil, cucumber, and cabbage. The brown rice was a mix of brown and red, nicely cooked (a little overdone, though).

Paid $7, filling meal, but I've definitely had better.

Servers were nice enough.

I've been here about 10 times. I've dined in, and have taken out (probably 50/50)... I've had a pleasant experience all but once. I ordered a pad thai for my friend and a pad kee mao for myself. When I got to my friends house, my friends pad thai was WHITE. NO SAUCE, NO NOTHING... just noodles and veggies. I guess they were busy and forgot to add the sauce. haha

Anyhow, it's a medium sized restaurant with very good lunch special prices in a strip mall on El Camino. This place is the best place for Thai food in Santa Clara (of course this is merely my opinion).

If you aren't sure what  to order, or worried about what might be good and what might not taste so good, I'd recommend, the panang curry, pad kee mao, basil eggplant, or their pad thai.

The decor is MUCH cuter than the outside - don't be fooled!  The service is fantastic, it's not too crowded, and the food is DELICIOUS.

The best thing about this restaurant is that the meat is separate from the dish.  You choose your dish, then you choose what protein you want in it.  This makes this place VERY vegetarian-friendly.

This is one of Santa Clara's best kept secrets!

We went to this restaurant with a few of our friends to try it out as it had very good reviews.  The interior of the place is very nicely decorated.  The service is very good and all waiters and waitress are attentive.
The food was good but nothing to rave about. When we ordered the soft shell crab, there wan't much crab in the dish, mainly brocoli and carrots.   I probably won't be going back to this place anytime soon.

Thaibodia...

If only you could live up to your name.

I understand that this is a 'Thai' restaurant. But the 'bodia' is very misleading. I expected some Cam'bodia'n dishes on the menu.

I came here with my family for my cousin's birthday. The food was good, the staff was nice, and the price was decent.

Overall, I couldn't really find anything special about any of the dishes that we ordered or the place.

Excellent in every aspect.

-Great customer service
-Very clean restaurant
-Nicely decorated
-Great selection of Thai food ranging from your standard basil chicken to rock cod to two whole pages of vegetarian dishes (yumm!)

I came here before and ordered take out so this was my first time actually dining in. Same great service and the food was some how even better this time around.

Pad see ew (pork): You have your choice of seafood, beef, pork or chicken. It was delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked... The pork was a tad on the dry side though

Seafood Salad: Scallops, REAL crab, squid, octopus & mussels mixed together in fresh greens and a light dressing.

Green beans with beef: sorry I forgot what its called.. Khing, something. Very good. A little salty but it mixed very well with our pad see ew. This was my favorite dish by far!!! a MUST try. They have a vegetarian version with no meet. mmmmm...

Water was constantly refilled. Servers were attentive. Bathroom was very modern and very clean. The restaurant was a little busy but there was no wait. Dinner came out to around 30 dollars. Very good price for really great food.

Definitely recommend Thaibodia!

COUPON-COUPON-COUPON-COUPON, can we all say dinner for 4 at $15 bucks each.   WOW.  Who knew, and at a classy joint at that?  Fine dining on a dime...that's what I LIKE!

As you know, strip malls are very deceiving.  They may look sketchy from a far, but once you step into a venue, you can truly be blown away. No kidding.

FOOD AT THAIBODIA IS GREAT.  However,  Crab rice needs more crab.  I loved the coconut milk based soup, and could have used more lime.   Curry was great, and noodles were the least of my favorites as they were too think. Regardless, I was a happy camper.  We had:
42 - Ka-Ree Crab Meat Fried Rice  $8.95
53 - Pad Khee Mow $7.95
60 - Red Curry, Beef $ $8.50
31 - Tom Kha Soup Hot Pot with chicken $8.95

Take the coupon from The Eye, which gives you 25% off for dine-in or 35% for take out, and you are ready to have a party.

Now big whoop folks, as this joint is 2 thumb approved!   Not to mention, the digs are classy...dark wood, nice tables, nice bar, nice ambiance.  I am surely a fan, and will be coming back with my coupon!

Dining in is even better! So i've lagged on writing this review but I guess this will be my 200th review! I've had Thaibodia before, but it was a take out order that my gf surprised me with. She's not a big fan of Thai food but she actually enjoys the food here. (That says A LOT!) If you want to know how our take our experience was read her review (Steph C.) We dined here last night before we met up with some friends. The people here are so friendly and polite. Its rare to come to an Asian restaurant with good service these days. And the restaurant is decorated nicely from the dining area to even the bathrooms!

We ordered the seafood salad to start off our dinner. Lots of fresh seafood cooked nicely with the right spices, only complaint is there was not enough salad and it would of been better if there were better greens instead of that cheap salad mix. Next we ordered the Pad See Ew and it was delicious! Only down side is we ordered the pork version and the pork was a little bit dry. My favorite dish of the night was Pad Prik Khing (green beans with beef and bell peppers in a garlic chili sauce) So 3 plates of food for 2 people, you would think there were be some food to go right? Nope, I ended up eating all of the left over food that my gf couldn't finish. I definitely found a Thai restaurant I enjoy and will drive the extra mile from Berryessa to eat there!

Here's yet another new thai restaurant with classy decor and ambiance, though I think I prefer the look of nearby Jasmine Fine thai and Shana in Mountain View. Prices are reasonable- I believe around $8-9 for most chicken dishes and a couple bucks more for beef and seafood. Angry Chicken and Spicy eggplant with chicken were my favorite dishes (though the sauces are somewhat similar).

We made a mistake and ordered the only curry dish (forest curry) that didn't include coconut milk and it was extremely bland and watery. we asked the waiter to take it back and add some coconut milk in there and the chef did not hesitate to do so. He checked back to make sure everything was fine and was very polite. Personable service, although a little slow...took far too long just to get the fresh spring rolls to our table (not the fried variety). Overall great value considering the food and ambiance

Great place - if you are looking for a Thai place on a date or want nice decor this is good. Seasoning is definitely "gringo" Thai.

Ultimate plus - they serve Chang Beer! Much better than Singha, very rare to find in the USA.

I ordered the fresh rolls with duck - excellent. Wished the portions could've been bigger.

The Pad See Ew was great - I heard the high-flame wok when they were cooking it. Perfectly cooked with some slight browning on the noodles. Not to soft, not to hard.

Larb was fantastic, very fresh, live flavors without being too spicy.

Overall, this is a more elegant, although not authentic version of Thai (having visited Thailand and going to many of the beaten track places).

I expected Thaibodia to have a typical strip-mall atmosphere (you know what I mean -- the food might be decent, but don't expect the tables to be clean).  I was pleasantly surprised!  Once inside, I forgot it was in a strip mall.  The decor was very warm and upscale-home-y, with rich cherry wood, buttery yellow colors, and beautiful art on the walls.  I am a visually oriented person, and an attractive atmosphere definitely makes a positive difference to my dining experience.

The food was good too!  :-)  I had the yellow curry chicken, and my husband had the panang curry chicken.  We were both pleased with our meals.  It wasn't "OMG best noms EVAR!!!11!" -- but it was good.  $7 for the lunch special was not bad, especially since it came with a soup and (American-style) salad.  The servers were competent and friendly.  The only problem is they didn't ask if we wanted our leftovers boxed; I had to flag down a waiter and ask after we'd already paid and were sitting there for a few minutes.

Overall verdict -- 4.5 stars (if I could -- I'm very stingy with my 5 stars).  Very good!  We will be back.

(Oh... Be aware that the place is a little bit small, so it's probably not good for large groups or antsy children.)
