Thai West Lake Cuisine is a great place to get wonderfully prepared Thai Food at an incredible value. Be it that the restaurant is hidden away in an office complex, or that they didn't stretch their budget to decorate this place, the food is truly excellent and the price during their lunch menu rivals McDonald's and Subway. In other words... get quality-food and a sit down gourmet thai lunch at Fast Food prices!
As I said, the decor is very 'zen', but the service is good and the food excellent. I had their Thai Iced Coffee which was very well mixed. Then we all started with a chicken coconut soup which was wonderfully hot and tangy. When flu season rolls in, I'll come in for some medicine and order a bowl of that soup! The spices in the soup tickle the back of your throat and give you shivers.
I tasted my friend's Pad Thai and was quite pleasantly surprised. I enjoy Pad Thai but it is often way too sweet. At Thai West Lake Cuisine, the Pad Thai was well prepared, with the sweetness balanced out with either lemon or vinegar, so that I didn't feel like my tongue was going to be coated with caramel.
I ordered a lovely Chicken Panang curry and... damn it was good! The curry sauce, light on its own, blended well with the well prepared rice. Now I've also tasted the Chicken Ruby Curry (aka green curry) which is quite good, but didn't quite meet the level of the Panang Curry.
I think I paid $15 for this meal, tip included. I'm so going back there... like today! -

Best kept secret for great Thai food in the Conejo Valley. Thai Westlake is located in a business center on Hampshire Rd, so its kind of hidden. It gets pretty busy for lunch, so make sure you get there a few minutes before noon. The food here is really, really good. I haven't been disappointed with anything that I've had there. Parking is adequate. Prices are the same as any other Thai restaurant in the area. Great value. 5 stars.

Great Thai food, their BBQ chicken is delicious! The pad thai is not too saucy, very tasty. My food was cooked to perfection and the staff was attentive without being obtrusive (my water glass was always filled to the brim and I never noticed them filling it). The ambiance is nice too, it's hard to find because it's hidden in the depths of an office complex, yet it has nice views of the water features in the courtyard and almost feels like you're sitting outside even when you are inside.
