Big ups to this place. They've got Best of Baltimore awards from various categories on the walls going back to the mid-80s, so you gotta know it's been consistently excellent. I went for the first time recently and wasn't expecting much because I'm not always huge on Thai food, but I thought it was great! The portions are a good size, everyone is really friendly, and the flavors are excellent. I got the drunken noodles and they hit every possible spot, and the red curry was good too.
I also loved the ambiance because it was very "Baltimore/pan-Asian sit-down restaurant". We were lucky enough while sitting there to witness a really awkward exchange between some drunken propositioning hideous-feathertopped-bag-toting women who'd just seen the Sex and the City movie and some dudes who couldn't wait to get away from them. Yes!
A little bit pricey, but consistent with most Thai places I've been to, and worth it in my opinion!
Yo, you gotta love a restaurant that serves Thai food that is just called "Thai Restaurant." What balls. Also, the rad sign on the side that proclaims "exotic Thai cuisine" helped me get through a college paper on "exoticising 'The Other' in contemporary Western Culture" or some shit like that. A whole paper bullshitting the roots of sex tourism and 'the master's gaze' and a host of other cultural abstractions from one sign on the side of a restaurant. Yeah, thanks Thai Restaurant.
So I've been coming here as a kid and the curries are always amazing, and the fried banana desserts are NOT to be missed. Also, as a kid, I had this wierd asian fetish back in the OG days, and so I asked my mom to take me here for like my 10th birthday or something, because I was like obsessed with going there. I distinctly remember our waitress wearing like a tight silky robe thing and I could tell, even in my pee-wee 10 year old brain, that my mom was feeling uncomfortable about her 10 year old son's wierd creepy fetishizing at the dinner table. Man, I'm glad I grew out of that one. Black chicks are like waaaay hotter, duh.
So yeah, Thai Restaurant rules. The food is excellent. The memories, even better.

After hearing so many good things about Thai Restaurant, my first visit failed to impress. Prices seemed high for the amount of food served, and my entree arrived somewhat lukewarm. The wonton appetizer tasted a little funny, at least to my Asian palate. Overall I was not extremely pleased with Thai Restaurant, and I think there are places in the area where a better meal can be had for less.
Tasty, reasonably priced thai food. The service has also always been very friendly. I can't think of a better Thai restaurant in Baltimore.

Decent thai food, amazingly located between a number of fried chicken and fried lake trout carry-out restaurants. Free parking in the rear, but you will probably have to eat the restaurant once before you figure out where the parking is.

Please do not let the unoriginality of this restaurant's name act as a deterrent when you are trying to figure out where you should go for a Thai meal in Baltimore! Give it a try and it will impress you.
Okay, I've been here only once, during a recent visit with my sister, but I can say with a complete confidence that if you want a yummy Thai meal, this place is a good bet. The food here is so fantastic you could lose all sense of etiquette and decorum. At least I did.
My sister Nicole and I have the heartiest of appetites anyway. However, during our time at Thai Restaurant, we outdid ourselves. Between the two of us, we fully sampled three appetizers and two entrees. The curries are super delicious and the Tom Yum soup is absolutely fantastic! By the end of our meal, we had gorged ourselves almost to the point of unconsciousness, leaving behind a stack of empty plates and bowls high enough to fill a dishwasher.
At the end of our run of madness, the apparent owner of the place cleared our dishes personally (we speculated that the waitress may have been afraid she would lose a finger pulling them away from the table). Whether he was proud or astounded, I cannot say. What I will say is that our opinion of the food was decidedly favorable. Hell, we actually pondered putting in a take-out order of Pad Thai for the road.

Thai Restaurant gets it right. Friendly service and excellent specials. We've done take out and eat-in and I'd do them both again. They have your standard Thai fare, and then a sizable set of dishes that I'd not seen before that I can't wait to try. I've not been disappointed with anything I'd had, but if you go for the whole fish, make sure you get the price quote ahead of time, it was a little more that I had expected. Looking forward to going back!
