What a delightful place to go!  The staff was genuinely glad to see me and my son show up and made us very comfortable finding a good spot for his wheelchair.
The food was excellent, very flavorful and fresh, the spices were perfect.
The menu is large, we had the Green Curry and the Hot and Sour Soup with Prawns.  Both were delicious and generous portions.  Our dishes arrived at our table quickly and piping hot.

Not sure how they survive, perhaps it's a tax break for them. They've been around for a long time, so we decided to try it, hoping a good restaurant option in our hood. Service was slow, dishes are mediocre, not much to write about. We noticed the restaurant barely has customer from time to time. They have hired a cook but we know but not worth a return. 2 stars for their longevity.

I'm not a huge fan of thai food, but I love their thai steak salad. Their spring rolls are also awesome. I didn't really like anything else I've tried there, though, but I keep coming back for the thai steak salad. It's the best I've ever had.

I can't believe the number of people who like this place.  Food is lousy and the atmosphere is non-existent.  Please folks, stop by Phayathai on LCW for much better food.  No I don't work there but I've been too both - no comparison.

I'm pretty surprised to read some of the experiences of other people.  My husband and I get take out from Thai of Wedgwood regularly and the food has always been yummy and consistent.  To be honest, we always order the same three dishes at all Thai restaurants: panang curry with chicken, phad thai with beef, and swimming rama with chicken.  Given how much they charge for rice, we also start the rice cooker and then go over to pick up our food.

I've eaten there once and what I did notice was that they give you more food when you get it to go.  I always have half a to-go plastic container of curry sauce left over after my meal.  This can be seen as a negative (too much sauce not enough meat/veggies), but when you're full at the end of your meal anyway, it's a positive in my book because you can incorporate the sauce into your cooking tomorrow.

    *Experience is ONLY of delivery*

I called them up for a delivery order and this time they took my order (instead of telling me to try again later cause the driver was late to work) and said it'd be a 30 minute wait. Ended up being closer to 20.

The Phad Thai is alright (except that the sauce is weird), the Yam-Woon-Sen has been consistently delicious, Thom Kha is good, and the curry has (so far) been way too watery for my taste.

I don't know if I'll ever get motivated to stop by the actual restaurant, but it's a pretty good option when it comes to Thai delivery in the Ravenna/Wedgwood area. Oh and the minimum for free delivery is only $20!

I know that others may have written glowing reviews about Thai of Wedgewood. But in spite of the sweet natured owners - they are wonderful people - I doubt that I will return to this restaurant. I, like my husband (Joel.H) used to think this place was great though some of the meals did taste a little non-spicey, even for my 1 star palate.

So one Friday afternoon I was craving Thai and didn't want to go to my favorite Thai place on Capital Hill, Jamburee, so I popped into Thai of Wedgewood. I really don't care for the decore but the food is what matters - right? Well,I  ordered the spring rolls and they were dripping with oil, so much so that I couldn't finish them, and the green chicken curry was terribly bland with the curry sauce being really watery. I won't even comment on the music (that was distracting while I was trying to read a book) otherwise the Yelp populace will just think that I am nasty....and suggest that I visit the library if I wish to read in silence - but what was I supposed to do while dining alone?

The Queen of Wedgwood makes some good Thai food.

We love to grab the delivery or take-out here.   They tend to be quick and consistent.  Something I really appreciate in delivery.

The pad thai is very tasty and keeps well.  The curries are flavorful and rich.  The appetizers aren't overcooked.  Everything we have tried has had a nice flavor, even without adding spiciness.

I'm a big fan of their thai ice tea.  It's one of the better one's in the city.  But their black sticky rice is sort of a let down. Not as sweet as what I like and without mango on the side.  Oh well, can't have it all.

This was my go-to takeout place when I lived three blocks away.  I'd always order the panang curry - delicious!  Despite what other reviewers have said, I remember mine always being spicy enough.  But I'm sure I ordered four or five stars.  If you don't think it is spicy enough - pop that star up a notch!

One thing to note - when you are ordering takeout, they will charge you for rice.  I'd always come home, call Thai of Wedgewood, then turn on the rice-cooker.  In 20 minutes I'd come home to a tasty meal with leftovers!

We used to go to Thai of Wedgwood all the time when we first moved to Roosevelt neighbourhood. The owners and all of the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

However we've noticed the last few times that we ordered food from them the quality hasn't quite been up to the level it was a year ago. The Green Curries are watery and lacking in chicken, and the other dishes are all a little bland -- even when 4 stars are ordered.

I want to love Thai of Wedgwood. I just can't right now. I will keep trying though -- since the owners are such sweeties!

I took out the "e" from Wedgwood in the title.  Why wouldn't there be an E in Wedgwood?  Wedge... Wedg... wtf? *edit I edited, but why did it not take?*

This place is so-so.  Its great to have a Thai place to get some quick takeout/delivery in the hood.

Pop up your usual star one notch here, they tend to hold back on the spice.

The inside doesn't have a whole lot of draw, so take advantage of the free delivery.

I highly recommend the spring rolls.  They are little bite-sized pieces of yum!

Convenient, quick, reasonably priced, and the food was good. Standard mainstream Thai food, everything you expect it to be and nothing more.

I'll go back, on those nights where I can't face the kitchen and I need something fast, filling, hearty, and vaguely exotic tasting.

Also, free delivery for orders over 20. Mine wasn't so I did pick up, it was ready 5 minutes after I placed the order.

Good food, homey ambiance from this family-run Thai cafe.

This is definitely a neighborhood kind of place (as opposed to Racha on Queen Anne, which I also reviewed), with slightly less money put into the ambiance. On the flip side, what you get is the owners working the wok and the cash register, the very charming Paul and Gina. We joke that they start cooking our food when we walk in the door. If you are a regular, you can eat and be done in 10 minutes! But you don't have to, there is no rush here. They treat us like family, and are always happy to customize a dish. If Wedgewood (or Lake City, or Sand Point) is your neighborhood, and you feel like a casual Thai dinner, I suggest this place. Quiet music too. Yum!

I guess I know when I go out to eat tooo often...my 7yo is giving star rating to his restaurants.. IS there a minimum age on Yelp? youngest yelper ever?  I will use his words since it was cracking me up at dinner tonight!

Chicken satay: The thumbs up were enthusiatically waving followed by the commentary "I am in heaven!"

Crab wonton: "uhhmmmm these don't taste like I like it but I can still eat it." Hand raised thumb to the side (as in not thumbs down and  not thumbs up)

Tom gui kai: OK the look on his face showed me he doesn't care for lemongrass...shuddering because of its special flavor...not able to raise his thumbs but this isn't fair..since I enjoyed it!

We order phad see ew that is my lunch for tomorrow...I've had it before and it's 5 stars and he agrees...but he is stuffed, I am stuffed. We'll be back for the good food, nice owners and homey feeling.

Having spent 3 months in Thailand, I love Thai of Wedgwood.  The food is simple and true to Thai tradition.  It hasn't been overly  "Americanized" with too much sauce and salt.  The owners are wonderful and very personable.

Only cons, you can sometimes tell when the owners are out of town, as flavors change a little, but overall it's still good.  Also their spicy scale tends to vary.  If you order 3 star on 2 separate occasions, the amount of spice can vary.

Overall, we love their food and get take out regularly.

    uhhmm.  gross.
This is definitely NOT for vegetarians, even if you get a tofu/veggie dish, and even if the person who answers the phone says "no meat" to your inquiries. You can't really ask if the broth or curry or gravy has a meat base or uses shrimp flakes or whatever - it's beyond their comprehension.
So, here is what my boyfriend and I tried, and here is what we got:

Veggie spring rolls (filled with shredded cabbage only, and perhaps a speck of carrot) were dripping with oil.  No flavor, no delivery on the promise of shredded vegetableS (I assume the 'S' ensures more than one).

Tofu Pad Thai - definitely cooked in meat with burnt specks throughout the clump of greasy noodles.  I think they must use the same woks without cleaning them out, so as to reuse the grease.  Nastiness.  I took two bites and then got all depressed about my $8.50.

I can't remember what my bf got, but he substituted the meat with prawns for an additional $1.50.  He was not happy when he got his order and sifted through the pile of food to find FOUR prawns.  He also got sick after eating this.

Anyway, rice does not come with any dish, even though they are made to be eaten over rice (like most of their entrees and all of their curries).  You must pay an additional $3 for a side of rice, and that side of rice is a scoop, like less than the size of your fist.  If you dine in, the side of rice is $2.  Perhaps they don't want people causing a scene about it in the restaurant, but they know take-out customers most likely won't return for $3 rice once they realize their soupy entree came without.

So, in conclush, this is no good.
Oh, but their Thai iced tea is really good.

P.S. I was delighted to be rung up by the apathetic puffy jacket teenager mentioned in an earlier review.  It kind of gets you prepared for disappointment.

My husband and I ordered delivery from here for the first time last night. I think delivery was timely (though I can't be positive, because I wasn't home when it arrived).

They forgot to put the chicken in his phad thai, which was a major bummer for him. The spring rolls, which are generally one of my favorite food items, just tasted like old oil. The (what I'm assuming was) plum sauce just tasted like simple syrup with a dash of salt.

We were both, however, pleasantly surprised by the spiciness level. Pretty hot.

We love this place! The fresh spring rolls are outstanding, that's a must-order. I also really like the swimming rama with tofu (or chicken), matsuman curry, and the phad kee mow. My mother swears by the ginger chicken. It's a great place to go when we want real adult food and my son is with us since they have a little play area for kids and he loves their potstickers. The owner and his wife are lovely, lovely people and are always so kind and attentive to my son. And the rest of us too! Only complaint is that several times I have ordered one star or none even and my food has arrived SO spicy that I couldn't eat it. I think maybe they have a tendency to mix up the stars requested by the different people at the table.

Waitress was really rude. Didn't bring water or silverware until we asked for them. She treated us like we were just like all other teenagers, rude, non tippers, and obnoxious. Food was ok, standard cheap thai food. When the time came for a tip, we left a dollar, probably more than we should've. She threw the tip at us as we walked out the door and lectured us on how to be polite restaurant goers. We all go to Bai-Pai now.

I stopped to grab some phad thai for dinner one night.  I love local restaurants but must admit, they are usually less "clean" then commerical chain places.  The guy that rang me up, was unnecessarily wearing a puffy coat, he was moving around the kitchen, after he took my money, he touched food- lime and bean sprouts going into my container.  Not cool.  The kitchen didn't seem super clean and tidy but the food was good.  Not my favorite thai place but closest to home.

They could put twice as many tables in as they have now, but it is nice to dine without a crowd even though there's a steady stream of people eating here. The food is very good. My son's hot and sour soup was perfection, but he thought 3 stars wasn't very spicy at all, and it even tasted mild to me. The fried wontons were a bit heavy, the spinach in the Rama chicken was absolutely perfect, not too wilted. Service was fine, not overly friendly but perfectly competent. Considering it's within walking distance of home and the prices are VERY reasonable, I'll be coming back often.

Was hesitant to try based on the reviews, but gave it a shot anyways.  Big mistake.  I ordered the pad thai and the red curry....  pad thai was a definite 1/5 - ketchup flavored overcooked noodles.  And I think they forgot to put the curry in the red curry, still more edible than the pad thai though.  Delivery was fast and the price was decent, but a waste of $$ in my opinion unless you love flavorless mush.

YUM! the food is good, you know not spectacular just like plain old thai food. but they have some of the BEST peanut sauce in seattle... MMM i could live off of that stuff.

plain rice to eat with entrees is a little expensive but necessary.

the waitress, i dont think she is rude, i think they just are really used to waiting on people too much i think most of their business is take out.  so just kind of slow. but very very nice and got everything right.

and if you dine in they give you yummy candies.

    Excellent food and great service.

Had gone to try out, but got there an hour before they were supposed to open.  We were seen looking at the door and waved in  "If we are here we are open!" said the smiling staff.

    This is a dine-in review.

I Try lots of different Thai restaurants, and this is a good one.  They do spice a bit more than many places.  I can eat food that is spiced to the point where the cook will come watch me eat it, and don't notice most places' 1-2 stars when eating with friends.  "Medium" was as spicy as most of my acquaintances would want.

Had the Phad Kee Mow, the Thai Suki and the Phad Prik King.  All were very good.

Will be returning whenever I am in Northern Seattle/Wedgewood area.

They have the best Pad Thai of any restaurant I've tried in Seattle. A lot of (bad) Pad Thai tastes like it has too much ketchup in it. Their sauce is subtly flavored. If you like a lot of spice, ask for it hot.  The noodles are accompanied by lots of crunchy vegetables,  ground peanut and fresh lime. Very refreshing with a cold beer. I also love their curry.
