This was my first time at Thai Kitchen, and it's on par with the select few that I actually like. I came with a friend who lives in the area, and she was similarly impressed; she had not come here prior.
Our food was served in a timely fashion and was cooked to perfection. The waiter was quick to accommodate us with beverages and our appetizer was ready within a few minutes. Overall, the food was great, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was all positive vibes.
I would recommend Thai Kitchen to anyone who loves Thai food and appreciates good service.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tyler M.Petaluma, CA2163Aug 26, 2013
Always yummy. And fast. Right next to Olivers so if I can't decide on what to cook/eat I stop there and make it out with my milk still cold :)
Service is efficient, pleasant and they understand my white ass so I'm all for that.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nurse G.Santa Rosa, CA1312Dec 27, 2014
I am SOOOO SAD this place closed!!!!!! This was the best Thai spot, with the sweetest owners... I'd been going here since 2002, at least.
I wish I could've expressed my gratitude to them before they closed...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - K B.Portland, OR013Jan 25, 2014
I love this restaurant and I absolutely love the owner- he is the sweetest, hardest working man I've witnessed first hand in a restaurant, and he has now gained my loyalty 100%.
My boyfriend's favorite dish is the barbecue chicken- he can never stop making "ummmmmm oh damn!" noises while eating until it's all done, he loves it so much. I'm a vegetarian and love all of the curries I've tried, they're all just delicious! The portions are generous, the spice and flavor excellent, and the service both speedy and heartwarming... I just can't praise this restaurant enough.
For awhile we thought we should try other places just to make sure Thai kitchen was the best, and everyone else paled in comparison..no one had the same quality and not nearly the same amount for the money. We stopped doing that, we've committed. :)
As my boyfriend would say, Thai kitchen is "fucking amazing, down to the last bite!"
Please support these wonderful people making amazing food!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jordan S.Kent, WA91204May 28, 2014
Some of the better Thai food I have had in recent memory. The team of two definitely know what they are doing and cook authentic Thai as only real Thai people can.
The service was so friendly. We were treated with respect when approached and then otherwise were left to enjoy our meal with the occasional check-up.
Prices are ridiculously good, especially when compared to other high-end Thai places that now charge an arm and a leg for each individual entree, a la carte style.
This is just a hard working family, doing something they know how to do well, and we are lucky enough to have them in our town.
Definitely visit here and give them your business, you won't regret it!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andreanna D.Healdsburg, CA72213Jul 18, 2009
My favorite Thai in Sonoma County. Service is quick, friendly and informative. The Pumpkin Yellow Curry is fantastic as are the Spicy Noodles. The chicken can be poached a little too much sometimes, but the flavors and seasonings more than make up for it. They are very reasonably priced - so much so that we can easily treat friends to a very hearty meal for less than the price of a meal for two elsewhere.
If you like wine, bring your own. But I'm a snob...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marlene T.Sebastopol, CA2252552882Oct 24, 2011
I really hate to give this place a bad review. The first time we went we loved it and I was prepared to give it a 4 star. The food was great. The last time we went we both got food sickness and the food was not so great. Both times we just got soups and an appetizer.
I'd love to be more accurate but I'd really put the food out of my mind after getting sick. I don't think we'll be going back any time soon.
This makes me sigh because it seems there are so many hit and miss places in Cotati. There are so many great Thai places in Sonoma County that I'm afraid this one won't stay on my list.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah Lane A.San Diego, CA27132Aug 30, 2011
I love, love, love, love, love this place for their pad see ew! It is not your traditional pad see ew with the wide rice noodles, broccoli, and sauce. Their pad see ew has carrots, cabbage, broccoli, zucchini, egg, and your choice of meat or tofu. I always get mine with no cabbage, and my boyfriend always gets his without any veggies. Some days the dish is better than others. I am sure this is because I prefer one chef over another, but I can't be sure. I also really enjoy the yellow chicken curry! And, if you go for lunch you get to chose from rice, salad, or soup to start with.
The only thing I have had there that I am not too fond of is the thom kha soup. I am used to having this coconut soup with some spice to it, but when I had it here it was very sweet. I am sure that it could be made better by adding chili sauce to it, but I haven't wanted to order it again to try it out. However, this doesn't detract from my 5 star rating =)
Also, they only accept credit cards with orders over $10.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anne M.Richmond, CA112515Mar 4, 2013
My lunch today was great! I talked with the server - if you ask for any of the "veggie" dishes, they automatically leave out any fish sauce - so all of the "veggie" dishes are vegan!
The coconut soup appetizer was wonderful (and vegan!).
I had the Pra Ram, veggie (which had veggies & tofu, instead of chicken/beef) and came with rice - the appetizer soup, and entree with rice was $7.50 which seemed like a good value, as the portions were big and I had enough for leftovers. My partner had the red curry veggie, which was also good.
The water has a small slice of lime in it, which I thought was a nice touch.
The staffer was very friendly, and the food was tasty. I will be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - M E.Santa Rosa, CA376829Apr 4, 2014
Get here before 6:30pm, it gets busy....
Completely understated lil Thai joint right next to Cotati Olivers Market. I must have passed by this location a thousand times and never knew it existed...until now...really want to give 3.5 stars...
Oh the heavenly scent of Thai food when you walk in...yumminess :)
We ordered the:
To Start:
-Spring Rolls
I had the Singha which is $3.75
Main Entrees:
- #43Thai Basil Chicken
-#?Yellow Curry with Chicken
- #95 Spicy Vegetarian Flat Noodle w/Vegetables and Tofu (not spicy)
-Jasmine Rice
The spring roll app was simple, tasty, hot and crunchy. Usually joints will cut the egg roll in half and call that "two pieces" but this place actually makes them as completely individual bite sized rolls complete with a tasty sweet n sour peanut sauce. One order comes with 6 bite sized rolls. We ordered two :)
Everything was really delicious, but the Thai Basil Chicken blew us all away. It was so flavorful, nice chunks of chicken, plenty of basil, lots of sauce and just absolutely delish!!! This is a must have for me again, and if this kinda dish is your forte...yeah order it for yourself, the portion could possibly feed one person if that is all you ordered and were starving, or just a glutton for being "OMG I should not have eaten that last bite" kinda person :) or be that nice person and share.
Yellow Curry was typical, if my hubs wasn't such a pansy about spiciness I would have upped the heat level a few notches, suppose I could have gotten chili flakes....buuuut it got super busy...yeah remember that 6:30pm comment....one server who is the maitre'd, host, food runner, busser...maybe dishwasher and cook??? Who knows, all we saw was "this guy" running around like a chicken with his head cut off...ok back to the curry. It was tasty but had a bit of grit to it, perhaps the potatoes, but I found that slightly off putting, I am funny about textures, but this in NO way deterred from who scrumptious the dish was. At all.
I had to have a noodle dish, and the Spicy Noodle fit the bill. Again, not spicy, which is good for the hubs...not so good for me...chili flakes should be a staple on all the tables, the server is much too busy to tend to your every request, at any rate, this dish is huge. It fed 4 people. Giant plate piled high with noodly yumminess, perfectly al dente vegetables and tofu chunks that were actually very good. The noodles were perfectly coated with sauce, so they didn't stick together and we ate just about every last bite.
100% Full.
Buut we wanted to possibly try a dessert...that didn't happen. It was good they were busy, we were too full and by the time he came back, we had decided nay.
Whew such a delish experience, but warning, again, after 6pm, it gets busy, so be patient and enjoy your company, bring a book if you dine alone and just relax and watch "this guy" take care of everything...ahhhh food :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
