I came here with my classmate for lunch.
First the service needs improvements as the waitress does not seem to be happy to work there.
Second, we waited for 30 mins to get our food served along with our drinks.
The place was packed so it kind of understandable, but still need to pay attention to customers satisfaction.
I will go back if they will change their services and keep on smiling.

The food was good, but not to my tasting and not the typical Thai taste.
More American than Thai.

I went on Friday July 3rd since I had the day off from work and figured I'd try their lunch specials.
So as far as the lunch specials are concernced, I've got to downgrade their rating. I'm used to lunch specials that come with salad, rice, maybe soup or an egg roll... and are less expensive
not so here

I went to Little Java for lunch with an old friend.  We found out that Little Java is closed for good.  I was not surprised since the food changed after the change in ownership.  We went to Thai House Express since it's next door and we went here a long time ago and the food was good.  I ordered rice with chicken curry and coke.  Charles ordered typical Panda Express menu "orange chicken".  He made fun of himself and called it "white boy menu" LOL  Lunch special is $6.95 and it comes with steam rice, salad and drink (boba tea milk, thai tea milk and soda).  My chicken curry was nice but it was super sweet.  I couldn't eat the potato since it was so big and I was having a hard time to cut the little sucker into little pieces.  The white boy enjoyed his white boy food but didn't finish the orange chicken.  Cash only

Came here yesterday looking for a quick cheap place to eat. I love Thai and hate paying super ridiculous prices. It was around $6 a plate and it could come with beef, chicken or pork. The food came out really fast. And the boba tea was only $1.95! It was really yummy not authentic but yummy. I love hole-in-the-walls and this was one of them. BUUT.....it was cash only!!!!! SHAME SHAME SHAME!!!!! Not good if you don't have cash. I never have cash. I was so lucky I did yesterday.

If you are hankering for any Americanized take on an Oriental dish, then this is your place. Want a Boba (testicle like balls) drink, they have that here also.

Though Monterey Park is the mecca of Oriental food in Los Angeles, this joint is the least ethic in the area(from my experience). Good or bad thats your choice.

Good food...good value.  I typically get the lunch special which is served Mondays through Fridays from 11am to 3pm.  The lunch special comes with a meal and a drink for $6.45.  Pretty good deal but too bad they raised their prices from $5,95 up to $6.45.  I typically get the chicken curry, pad see ew with chicken, or the pad thai.  You can get boba thai tea or boba milk tea there(buy two and get one free).  Overall, good food and good price especially with the economy nowadays.

The Thai House Express, for the most part, had always been more of a local hangout for me and my friends. It's a place for affordable, delicious Thai food on the go and somewhat decent boba (I vehemently refuse to label that as bubble tea for various reasons: they do not contain bubbles or pearls). It's also conveniently located around the corner across from ELAC, where I've taken summer classes before.

For a local restaurant, Thai House Express is adequate in what they set out to do. Fast but generally lost-in-translation service should be expected. They remodeled a while ago, so the decor is a bright, pastel yellow that more accurately reflects the exotic and tropical flair of a Thai restaurant.

What makes Thai House Express special is the amount of money you pay for well-prepared food. It's a must to try out their sumptuous Chicken Curry, which has generous pieces of boneless chicken simmered in a curry made with coconut milk. Other than that, their pad thai and pad see ew is pretty much standard fare. It's also good to know that they use quality ingredients at such phenomenal prices; one can easily taste the difference.

So why 3 stars? The Thai House is ideal for a quick lunch or dinner for those who are on busy and tight schedules. It's also a great place for frugal foodies who are tired of compromising taste for price. I would give it 4 stars, if my bbq chicken wasn't undercooked and the waitress didn't give me an attitude about it.

OK. so I am guilty of going here behind people's back because I don't want anyone to know how much I eat here. I swear its only like twice a week... anyways the dishes are awesome. I am not much of a Thai connoisseur, but Thai House Express is yummy, friendly and reasonably priced. The dishes are "family style" so you can share a few plates (avg. $6 each) and eat a little of everything.  Park in the area behind Floral Ave and Atlantic Blvd. either right behind the restaurant or in the parking structure.
The only draw back is that they do get really packed so make sure to wait on the side to be seated, otherwise you might go unnoticed.......

CASH ONLY-go to the wells fargo across the street or the B of A behind the shopping area. Plus Nails has a free ATM too.

Good food. Good prices. Slooooow service and cash only.

Went to lunch with my co-work. I do realize it was 12 p.m. on a week day, and its across the street from ELAC. But really now? Do they have to be that slow? We did not take too long to order, but it took forever to get our food. When my Pad See Ew (pretty good by the way) finally came my co-worker had nearly finished her thai ice coffee (again, good!) and then had to wait 15 minutes for her dish. Also my appetizer (ymmm...sa-tay) came after my main course, and I do believe they had to crush the peanuts for my extra peanut sauce. I finished my food before it came.

But with that all said, I will go back there, but only for take out. The food is pretty good, and the prices are standard. Their lunch specials are only $6 and a Thai ice tea or milk tea is included!

Typical Thai fast food with cheap lunch specials. I come here for the Chicken Curry lunch special which comes with sides and a drink for $6.45. You get what you pay for though. One time I stood at the counter to try and order to-go, but was completely ignored by the whole staff, so I left and went elsewhere. Oh and this place has a "B" rating, and I'll tell you why - my boss got take-out here once and there was a metal shard in his salad. MMMmmmm.....

Yellow curry chicken at ridiculously low prices. This place has been around for a short while now, and I'm glad it hasn't disappeared in the competitive asian restaurant world known as Monterey Park. They even opened a more up-scale version of their restaurant in the plaza with the Starbucks nearby, but I stick to the Express version cuz it's pretty much the same food but with larger portions and for less dough.

This place is a bit difficult to find being that it only has a tiny entrance in the southwest corner where the parking is located.  You basically enter from the back of the store.  The food is great and prices are even better.  For what this place is, and its price point, you really can't beat it when it comes to authentic quality Thai food.  I highly recommend their Pad Thai, Green Curry, and Thai Basil dishes.  If you seek more of a "restaurant" atmosphere, they have another location across the street "Thai House", where their menu has a wider selection and accept credit cards.

Good food.  I had the tom yum.  My friends had the won ton soup and pad thai.  We all thought it was great.  Gotta go there again.  Long wait, though, both times I went.

This place is surprisingly good for a hole-in-the-wall Thai place.  We went just as they were closing, so ordered food to-go, but the ambiance seems nice, if straight out the Ikea store!  In addition to a variety of curries and noodle dishes, this place has an extensive boba tea menu, which boba freaks like me are sure to enjoy.  Plus the boba is only around $1.50, which is about as good as you can find around here!  Next to nothing on the menu is veggie, but they'll happily substitute tofu for meat in any dish, just ask!  It's cheap, tasty and convenient, so I'm a new fan!
