Since I work for the major airline next door, Thai Heaven frequently ends up being the top choice for lunches out. So far, I haven't had anything that I didn't like - I've eaten their tofu Pad Thai, tofu Basil, tofu Sweet and Sour, Tofu Mango, and probably something else tofu as well... (can you tell that I like tofu??) Since I don't eat meat, I usually have to count on the tofu option at restaurants, and Thai Heaven does not fail to deliver! If you're not big on tofu (although I was able to convert a friend to loving tofu after she tried the tofu here!), one of my coworkers swears by the beef pad thai, while another loves the sesame chicken.
The portions are a good size (but not so big that you can share), and they will substitute noodles instead of rice at no extra charge. In fact, I come here so often that one of the girls who work there automatically knows to order my dish with noodles, already stir fried in with the curry(if you don't request that, the noodles will come out on the side, which is annoying). All lunch orders also come with your choice of veggie spring roll, salad, or coconut soup. Don't come here for dinner though - they won't give you the extra side, the size of the plate isn't any bigger, but they still charge you an extra $2 per plate. Typically though, lunch won't come out to more than $10, including tip.
Thai Heaven is an awesome place - it can get crowded during lunch though, so its better to come early. I once ate here three days in a row - its that good!
Cool space. I reminisced about the other restaurants that used to live in this space. I also reminisced when Zab-E-Lee was the only Thai restaurant in the area. Now I hear there's three.
I met up with a former colleague and got one of lunch specials, which also comes with soup, salad, or spring roll. I decided on the Penang Curry Chicken ($7.94) which was pretty good - liked that it had more veggies than other penang curries I've had: broccoli, green pepper, carrots, & basil. Generous portion. But what I didn't like - actually detested - was their salad. I hated the dressing - it wasn't the usual peanut or ginger dressing - it was some kind of vinegary sugar water or something. I ate just a couple bites and quit. It didn't help either that they use iceberg lettuce. Blegh! So yeah, I recommend getting their soup or spring roll instead.
Otherwise service was good and very attentive.
UPDATE: The manager replied to my review and kindly offered to do a spinach salad w/ ginger dressing for my next visit. Gotta respect business owners who take time to read customer feedback :)
Went for lunch today with my mother-in-law. She has never eaten Thai food, so it was an adventure for her. The food was amazing and plentiful. I've never had Coconut Soup, AMAZING!!
The service was great. The place was slammed but the waitstaff made it look easy.
Will definitely go back.
Good, consistent, and affordable.
My advice: GO FOR LUNCH!!! The serving sizes are about that same as dinner, but you save $3-4 on all the dishes. You also get your choice or soup, salad, or spring roll.
Even for dinner it's not a bad deal. Not the best Thai food I have ever had, but certainly tasty and very convenient to the airport and College Park/Hapeville.
My other bit of advice is in regard to serving times. They can be slower here...so reserve an hour for lunch. This place is not fast food and they cook everything fresh for you, so just FYI.
I'm addicted to Thai heaven. Its great Thai for the money. I especially like that its close to my office so its my favorite choice for lunch. my favs are the Basil Chicken/Beef/Shrimp and Basil fried Rice. Can you tell I like the flavor of basil?
Hopefully, their evening hours will be extended as more people discover the restaurant. The staff is efficient and friendly.
In my previous review update, I had complained about the serving size of the wine. They seem to have slightly increased the serving size to the standard 4 oz so I'm adding a star back. I truly love this place and it is a great addition to Hapeville. The owner is so sweet and always chats with us when we visit and makes sure we are taken care of. The food is consistently great! The Panang Curry Tofu and the Basil Tofu are currently my two favorite dishes. Their prices have gone up slightly but whose haven't lately?

Oh Thai Heaven, I still love ya and all but your alcohol prices are too high for the tiny glass of… Read more »
We went on Friday night around 8:00 and were warmly greeted and seated. I was really happy that there is a new place to eat dinner after 5:00pm in downtown Hapeville. The food here is simple & well presented Thai cuisine. I am not going to say that is the greatest or the most creative Thai that I have ever had but it was good in a way that was reasonably priced without having to leave the tri-cities area.
More people need to start eating here at night so the business won't have to fall into the ugly "lunch only" rut that the rest of Hapeville seems to be trapped in.
Out of this world! The food is excellent and they offer many choices for a 'veghead' such as myself. You may request any dish to be prepared Thai Spicy, and if that isn't enough heat for you they'll bring a selection of peppers and spices to add some zing to your dish. The food is always fresh, the service and cook times are good too. The décor is what one might call "electric Thai"- very tasteful. The staff honors special requests and is always accommodating. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the metro area!
I work in the area and become giddy when a new - and yummy - place opens up. Thai Heaven doesn't disappoint.
The restaurant is warm and inviting. The staff are friendly. The dining area is comfortable and colorful. Not overdone.
The menu is vast and offers lots of options. I'm not very familiar with Thai food but I was intruiged with various dishes which made it difficult to decide. I opted for the Pineapple fried rice with chicken and loved it. The portion size was enough to fill me up and allow for an extra serving the next day. The spring roll was good but I may go for the coconut soup next time.
Great addition to the hum drum options in Hapeville. Please support this place so it stays open!
I am constantly going to this place which is literally Thai Heaven!! I promise that everything is good...don't be afraid and let your pallet run wild! The food is flavorful and this is another good date spot. Nice atmosphere, very intimate.
The service is a very weird..... During the lunch hours the service is a pain, but during dinner it is great service. If you must have this for lunch go around 11am or at 2pm; when the true lunch crowd is gone.
PLEASE NOTE: If you want to have your food spicy...think twice before you request it because I made that mistake and my mouth was literally on fire. And on top of that the service was bad and it tool forever for someone to bring me some water. I made it through the fire and ate my food but I learned my lesson!!!
Other than that, this is a nice place, go ahead and check it out!!
Good curry and much cheaper than White Elephant Thai over in East Point. Plus Lisa works there! And Lisa rocks. I'm glad to have a restaurant in Hapeville that realizes people actually do live in the neighborhood and stays open past 5 PM. Most of the restaurants in Hapeville cater to the lunch crowd. I heard a little rumor they make a mean pineapple curry, but you gotta ask for it cause it's not on the menu...
I've had lunch at Thai Heaven 3 times in 7 days! The food is absolutely fantastic and I am typically not a big fan of Thai food. I normally hate spring rolls, but since my lunch was so delicious, I decided to try it and it was so good! My only concern is with portion sizes at lunch. It is so close to being just the right amount of food, but barely misses it. I've found that ordering an extra scoop of steamed rice does the trick. Plus with that extra rice you can be sure that you will not leave any of that great sauce left on your plate.
The atmosphere is nice, the wait staff is ok, but it's the food that is the star at Thai Heaven. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone. If you work around Hapeville then make this one of your weekly lunch spots.
I am so glad this place opened up in Hapeville! I love Thai food and I really enjoy the coconut soup here and the Pad Thai was also very good. The staff are super and the service was great.
