I love these kinds of places. From the outside: a hole in the wall in a no-name strip mall off of Frederick Road. On the inside: a no-frills, but immaculate, family run restaurant that makes killer Thai food.
My friend brought me here - he's a long-time customer, and his "Honey, I'm home!" bellow as soon as we walked in the door was answered with an immediate response from the kitchen. This wasn't an isolated incident - the people working in the place seemed to know just about every customer, and vice versa. Good sign.
The food was amazing. I had Drunken Noodles, and asked them to "spice it up." They did - it was absolutely perfect. Nice and hot, with tons of flavor, and enough to fill me up without making me feel all bloated.
It's not a big place, and wouldn't be able to handle a sizable group. Nor is it any way, shape or form what you'd call 'fancy'. But the food is great and the staff obviously cares greatly about the customers and the food -- what more can you want?
Food's getting weaker. Something's slipping here - it's just not as good as it used to be. Still not a bad place for takeout, but there's better Thai in the area.

We were driving back to NJ from DC and stopped here pretty randomly. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside so we hesitated to go in but are so glad we did! The food was awesome. We got fish curry and one of their noodle dishes. Both were fantastic, and the price was quite reasonable.
The staff is super friendly - while we were eating, a little boy came in with his dad (they were picking up take-out). The person ringing up their food asked the little boy how he was doing. He said he was feeling sick that day. The dad added that he'd stayed home from school with a stomachache. The woman tried to make him feel better by offering him a cookie! I'm not sure an oatmeal raisin cookie is the best thing for an upset stomach, but it was incredibly cute and shows how nice and friendly the staff are. Great place - check it out if you live close or pass by!
I work near UMBC and came here with my office colleagues and the first thing I noticed was the friendliness and the joking going on between the owner and my colleagues (who apparently visit this place a lot) as well as amongst other customers. A few days later, I went thr with another friend, and he is now a big big fan of this place. He orders the same thing, to such an extent, that the cook now knows what he wants, what shud the spice level be, what should the quantity be...etc.
The food is amazing. I always like to try diff things and have tried a bunch of options here till date. Haven't yet found a single bad one.
The ambience is next to nothing and the service might be so-so, if it gets crowded...but the friendliness of the owner more than makes up for it. I wud have given it a 3-* or 4-*, but I am sticking with a perfect score as of now.
I jus love this place and will miss it, when i leave the baltimore region.
I don't know if I would have wandered in here if I wasn't brought by a friend. Where Thai Heaven lacks in shiny signs and fashionable seating, they make up for it with deliciously awesome Thai Food!
You can't go wrong with their Green Curry, that's a promise. Everything tastes fresh and not americanized, which is a huge plus. Order ahead if you can, I've had some really long waits around lunchtime for pickup.
Wonderful, small, hole in the wall thai restaurant. The food is good, but you would never guess that if you looked in at the decor that mimics a bad chinese restaurant.
If I lived near Catonsville, this would be my restaurant for thai takeout.
Great Thai takeout near UMBC.
