Sushi and Thai in one place, i guess that is interesting. Is it called SushiThaiGarden now?

The food on the other hand was really just OK, not too spicey not too exciting for me - but are there other Thai places around that they are competing with? It is possible this is the best Thai and Sushi in the area, but I am just used to things a little different - maybe because I dont eat meat? Williamstown is a college town, and there were a lot of younger patrons in the restaurant.

Service was very attentive, our water glasses were never more than a few sips low when they were refilled. They took our order pretty quick, the Parking around here is OK,we were lucky and got a spot right in front of Thai Garden. Miso was OK, Curries were a bit milder than expected. Did i have to pay extra for rice??

Wow - it's been a while since a restaurant has just blown me away with their super attentive service and I have to say that this one not only sets the bar high, but goes out of its way to exceed the bar!  It almost borders the line of toooo much attentive service, but when your glass is empty - you can be reassured that a refill is not far behind.

The sushi rolls were perfect.  Rolled tightly and bite sized with a delicious sticky rice and flavorful combinations.  Some of the best sushi I've had in a long time as well!

I actually ordered the Chicken Pad See-Ew (my stand-by favorite by which to judge every Thai restaurant) and I was impressed with how steamingly hot it was served, not to mention it appears as though they had taken the time to steam the broccoli separate from the noodles and chicken, rather than boiling it- giving it that slight crunch that many restaurants don't achieve in this food combination.

The standard tea they served was light with a hint of flavor and the crab rangoon appetizer was packed heartily with cream cheese and small bits of crab.

All around, this was one of the best Thai experiences I've had in a long time.  5 stars.

If I was a Williams student, I think I'd be thankful for this place. But as a visitor, I was not particularly impressed with this place. Service was fast, but the ginger duck with mushrooms skimped on the duck. The bento box I got (#3) was good for the price but not particularly tasty. Thai ice tea and "green salad" (iceberg salad) was like what I've gotten in other Thai restaurants, so something familiar was, in a sense, good. It's probably a place that the college folk appreciate - I would! - but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again, myself.

okay, so i don't live in williamstown. and thankfully for me, i have many, MANY other choices to choose from. but i guess if ure a williamstown resident or a williams college student... this is as good as you can get.

the food was pretty decent. i shave off one star for high prices. another for the fact that SODAS ARE NON REFILLABLE. sweetie, we are in america, not thailand!!!! i am NOT paying 4 dollars for an itsy bitsy diet coke the size of a coke can. the sushi was straight-up gimmicky.

its saving grace? the seafood pad thai.

my review is probably not gonna affect its business very much.. i guess complacency is what you can afford, being a monopoly of williamstown and all.

Technically the name of this restaurant is "Sushi Thai Garden." So it's important to note here that Thai Garden doesn't just serve Thai food. It serves delicious Japanese food, too, like the freshest sushi and most delish Miso soup (light broth with miso, tofu, scallions, and seaweed) that will make you quote Rachael Ray all day: "Yum-O!"

The name doesn't sound too appetizing -- or appealing -- but my husband ordered the Prik Pow Fried Rice with chicken. The dish featured stir-fried rice with bell peppers, onions, scallions, and egg in Prik Pow sauce. He was satisfied, and I'll say he chose wisely.

I absolutely love sushi, so I chose the Lunch Box 3, which included six pieces of sashimi, three pieces of sushi, and three California rolls, plus a Sunomono, which is a salad with octopus. I didn't think I'd be able to finish all that, but I ate most of it -- I saved maybe three pieces of tuna, salmon, and a white fish (don't know the name of it) for the hubby.

We finished our meals with a dish each of coconut ice cream. Granted, I'm not crazy about eating ice cream when it's snowing outside, but who can resist coconut ice cream? Heavenly good!

not the best thai restaurant you'll have been to, by a long shot.  but it is much much more than you can expect in this neck of the woods, as far as asian food goes.  williamstown is damn lucky to have this place (esp now that jae's has closed).  it's really the anchor restaurant on spring street.  cuz the next-door indian place sucks (besides i can't have indian food more than 2x a week, whereas i could conceivably have thai/sushi everyday).  spacious restaurant with a good atmosphere and lots of tables (we've never had to wait for a table).  and the prices are reasonable.

as for the food... their thai dishes are better than their japanese items.  i always only order one of ~5 dishes (ginger mushroom chicken, panang curry, pad thai, cashew nut chicken) and all of them are decent.  i didn't like their pineapple fried rice all that much.  they have japanese bento boxes, too.  they're not bad and, while their sushi is far from great, it's definitely a couple notches better than the only other sushi place in town (chopsticks).

seriously, what other viable restaurant options are there in williamstown, with such an extensive menu full of decent food that's affordable and so varied?  you'd have to be rich to go to mezze's or hobson's diner; helen's is just an expensive sandwich eatery; chopsticks and moonlight diner don't serve edible food; coyote flaco is mediocre; 6 house pub's only open for dinner; hot tomatoes is awesome but i could only stomach pizza once a week max.

Back in Williamstown for the first time in eleven years and I was there two weekends in a row...and I went to Thai Sushi Garden both times.  The first time around I wasn't that impressed with the pineapple friend rice.  I was much happier the second time with the duck dish.  I don't remember the name but it's the house special and I believe it was deep-fried.  Much better, especially with the fried bread dessert.  That second dinner really pulled this review out of the fire back into the frying pan.  Thanks again to my new friends in KOW and AASIA!
