Review from Lilani E.
I'm going to start off by saying, I am not a HUGE fan of thai food and I pretty much order the same thing every time - TOM YUM soup. Pretty boring I know, but please understand I over did Thai food during my undergraduate years. Slowly recovering.
Anyways, I dug their Tom Yom and also their service. They were kind and got us in and out of there in time during lunch hour. There are definitely less expensive Thai restaurants in town but in general the prices are decent. About $30 for the two of us. -

Nice place to eat, just wish the food was better...
Parking: Street parking on nickerson - not bad.
Atmosphere: Newer, dark, bold colored walls with black trim - cool looking light shades that looked like a cross between an umbrella and a clam shell - not your traditional thai restaurant decor - much more modern. Bar is not really separated from the rest of the restaurant - it's just at one end of the restaurant with a low wall around it. Went there on a Saturday evening around 6:30. They had a jazz group (the Gary Hammond trio) playing - sax, trumpet, & bass - created nice atmosphere, only problem was we had to shout across the table to talk.
Food: Here is where I had issue, but we'll start with the good. The phad see lew noodles were pan fried and flavored just right. The beef that we ordered with it was thick, tough, and tasteless, so I'd try another meat option. The spicy thai ginger was aptly named - we got 2 star (they only have 1-3 stars) and it was SUPER spicy and SUPER gingery - I thought there was a ton of bamboo shoots in the dish until I bit into a mouthful of fresh ginger - so watch out! Was expecting a lot from the Meing Khum Salad where at other places is usually separated out into its individual ingredients and you wrap it yourself, but here it's thrown haphazardly into an unappetizing looking salad. It tasted ok - a little too limey and fish saucy for my taste - watch out if you have a sensitive stomach.
Service: So-so, friendly, but not too attentive. They always seemed busy but I'm not sure with what because there was only 2 other table filled when we first got there and only got to about 50% capacity.
Recommendation: I get the feeling that this place has potential - you just have to find the right dishes to pick. I'd go, but don't get the salad or beef. -

If I were rating it based on delivery alone, I'd give it two stars. We ordered one entire and three appetizers, none of which were very good. All were also cold by the time they arrived, which gave the copious amounts of oil a chance to coalesce on the top of each dish.
I'll give them three stars on the presumption they are better if you dine at the restaurant. Also, their happy hour prices look pretty good. -

Have been to this restaurant many time over the course of the last year and a half. Recently dined here and they changed their happy hour menu -- OH NO! It was good, but not as good as it was before changed. Too bad :( They do such interesting things with the appetizer/happy menu. Really love and enjoy the creativity put into the selections!

2nd chances are the best chances! LOL.
I came in this past week because I was craving Asian and I wanted some kind of soup, yet, I also wanted to try their som tom special ( Kao Niao Muh Yang Som To).
I ended up getting their Kao Soi Gai, which in my culture, we also make Kao Soi. It had a twist, which they made it with yellow curry instead of a more soup-like broth. It had rice noodles, and topped with the hard crispy chow mein noodles. I thought the crispy noodles were to die for. Mmm. But overall, the dish was good, but so hard to eat as a soup when it's really curry. I would not order it next time, because I'd want my curry separate from noodles.
I also had to try the Kao Niao Muh Yang Som To since I base my likeness of a Thai restaurant on how they make their pad kee mao, pad see eww, or som tom! and what do you know? It wasn't good. I'm so sad.
Unfortunately, their som tom wasn't that great. They didn't use any of the main ingredients that you would typically use in authentic som tom. I do like the restaurant, but this would have to be rated as a 1/5, because not only did it not have flavor, they used this more Vietnamese vinegar sauce, and it was NOT even spicy nor did it have that fragrant fish sauce or crab paste... etc.
It was very disappointing. As much as i liked my experience i take my papaya salad very seriously. Oh, but the pork skrewers were good though. But I have a 50/50 chance I won't go back because I wasn't fond of the papaya salad. :'(
Otherwise, they're nice, good service, and very hospitable.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Matt R.
piss poor effort on the part of this place.
Had dinner there last Friday- the service was appalling, the food was bland and uninspired, & they forgot some of our food.
Had the Pad Thai, ordered the Larb (never got it), had the lettuce wraps, and a coconut soup with chicken. All bland.
We had to remind them 2 or 3 times for the drinks we ordered. It wasn't that busy- the server clearly just had no clue.
We will not be back. There are so many good Thai places in Seattle- don't waste your time with this one. -

The food was great, the drinks were pretty good, but the service was TERRIBLE. Our waitress took forever to take our drink orders, just as long to bring them to us, and then left before asking us if we wanted to order any food. not to mention, they weren't that busy - it was a Tuesday evening.
By the time we got our orders in, our drinks were finished and she neglected to ask us if we wanted more, so one of us stopped her, asked for another, she took that order but walked away without asking the rest of us if we'd like a second drink. She dropped that drink off and fled the table. We flagged her down again so the rest of us could order and she said something along the lines of, "sorry, I'm going to go to the bathroom first." I've never had that happen anywhere before.
She came back still drying her hands, and took our order. - I suppose they could have been understaffed for the few clients they had in? Maybe she was having a terrible day? Or perhaps she was new? Who knows, but we weren't that demanding and simply felt neglected.
The part of the evening that really did it in for me was when we wanted to split the check 4 ways, she came back letting us know that bills could only be split three ways - after she had already charged 2 of the cards - and wanted to know which card should take the third of it. It was really frustrating that she didn't let us know before she started charging us or to think to divide the bill into 4 separate checks prior. We asked if should would split the check into 4 separate bills, but she had already charged two cards.
The only reason I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars is because the quality of the food and drinks were wonderful. I don't know if I'd ever go back - maybe to the bar or as long as I didn't have that same waitress again. -

Their food is pretty good (though has a hint of MSG) but their staff, especially when you call in your order can be UNBELIEVABLY CLUELESS & ASININE.... I mean Paris Hilton, fluff-for-brains STUPID. I only order from there because it's close by. This review is based on multiple orders.... why do I keep ordering from there? I guess I'm just lazy or desperate for thai food every once in a while...
edit: and to support my previous review, after we walked home w/ our order, we opened up the bag to find out it was incomplete. All they offered was for us to walk back to go get the missing soup. Nothing like sitting down when you're hungry w/ your food & then having to get dressed & go get the rest of it. -

My friend and I got there at 8:45pm and was told immediately that the kitchen is closing at 9:00pm but they proceeded to seat us with attitude. They took our order quickly which was Seafood Soup and Basil Beef. 2 couples came after we ordered and the waitstaff turned them down. As we were eating, another couple came and were turned away as well. Not even an offer for to-go, appetizers, nothing and this restaurant was not busy and looked like it's hurting for business. I understand hours of operation but I tell you that those people will not be coming back to try it out.
The food was very good. The ingredients in the Seafood Soup were of high quality and the flavor was amazing. Definitely worth the $15 that serves two well. The Basil Beef was good as well. Great flavor but they could have provided more beef portions, maybe it was the end of the night trimmings. -

Over the past few years I have become quite the thai food fan. Having allergies to diary, soy and gluten, I've found that thai food can be one of the most forgiving (and easy) meals to go grab for lunch or dinner without too much grilling of the wait staff or thought. Well if I thought other places were easy, Thai Fusion has just made it 10 times more amazing! After letting the wait staff know about my allergies, she proceeded to bring out an entire menu dedicated to food allergies...AMAZING! I had my pick from a full two sides of delicious menu concoctions.
My boyfriend and I choose a few delicious bites, extremely intrigued by the "street style" foods that we haven't seen at other thai restaurants. The papaya salad and beef dish were to die for! The service was a bit slow but the food made up for the slow timing.
To top it all off I can't wait to go back and try the fantastic happy hour pricing including $1 skewers, 1/2 price bottles of wine and $1 PBR Tall boys (yes, you read that right). Add in that it is just a quick 2 miles away from my house and you've got thai food heaven! -

Thai Fusion is just minutes away from my work (SPU) so it was very convenient to walk there with my girlfriend. They have HH from 3-6pm everyday with $6 martini specials, $4 beers, and $4 wine. All of their HH food specials looked delicious, but I was starving for some FOOD. They have the typical Thai offerings such as curries, fried rice, noodles, won ton soup, and spring rolls, but I was pleasantly surprised to see other things I had never seen:
"Bangkok Street Food"--includes things like roasted duck, BBQ pork, papaya salad, and pork skewers
"Fusion Burgers"--includes pulled pork sliders, Bangkok burger with peanut sauce, and a chicken sandwich with brie.
Their menu really does showcase exactly what their name is, Thai Fusion. They take dishes and fuse them with Thai flavors and ingredients and that was something I found pretty unique about this place.
The atmosphere was great (playing Kaskade Pandora, which is my fav) and a very lounge-like feel. I could see this place closing down dinner and opening it up to a club with a DJ--but they don't do this yet. :-) -

Came here with the intentions of choosing vegetarian meals. I was told that their phad thai is superior to other restaurants--made the real Thai way, and without ketchup. They were indeed delicious! Also had a bit of tom yum, and some spring rolls. Both were tasty and filling.
The black and white artwork on the walls is a lovely addition to the decor--you can tell that there is a lot of thought that goes into the upkeep. Also, I'm looking forward to returning so I can try their Bangkok Street Food portion of the menu--the only vegetarian item on that list is a papaya salad...but everything was tempting! -

This is one of my regular haunts. It's not life-changing Thai food (go to Tawon Thai in Fremont for that if you don't mind the parking hassle).
But TF will do; it's consistently pretty good. A bit on the pricey side ($10 for wonton soup), but they have a huge menu with interesting fusion items. -

Good food, but nothing special. You can get as good or better food at most other Thai restaurants. Nice atmosphere, but the waitress seemed to be in a hurry to leave our table when we were ordering. We had phad see ew, yellow curry, and summer rolls. All were satisfactory.
Overall, it was good, but we probably won't be back. -

The food and drinks are fine but the service from our waitress was awful. She is lucky she was smart and added gratuity to our table's bill (which she botched by the way) otherwise she would not have received a tip. And I'm a firm believer in tipping 20% across the board. The only time that I do not tip is when the server is exceptionally rude and neglectful and this was just such an occasion. I don't think that I would ever go back.

The area along Nickerson is sort of like the driving equivalent of a "flyover state". You're either on the way to Fremont or heading into downtown and there's a blur of small strip-mall type places along the side of the road.
Thai Fusion is one of them.
But while sitting in traffic (the bridge was up) and doubled over in hunger pain, I'd noticed Thai Fusion and decided to give it a shot. Which in retrospect, wasn't a bad decision.
It's not terribly huge for a lounge, but it's more of a dining space: there's a fair number of tables with a small bar at the one end. The ambiance is slightly classy with the tried and true dark wood furniture/minimalist decoration/dim lighting atmosphere.
I didn't exactly go with wild choices for dining, but had the Pad Thai with some spring roll appetizers. Each of these were good and I'd put them above average for the Fremont Thai genre. The service was fairly quick and to the point, so no issues here.
Overall it's probably perfect for a nice quiet dinner or a low-key date. -

REALLY good food REALLY HORRIBLE SERVICE
Saw a Groupon and decided to try it since I work nearby. Didn't allow take - out, but they should have because service was so bad I won't go back.
I ordered a lychee martin (some sugary concoction, not real lychee juice, but drinkable) crab Rangoon (above average) and veg/tofu red curry (very good).
The waitress took my order, martini came, Rangoon came and I had to ask for a napkin. Mine lay balled up across the table from me along with my straw wrapper for the remainder if my meal. Someone finally took my empty Rangoon dish when my curry came. I enjoyed my food although no one came by to ask if I did. I finished my curry, still no one came. I put my napkin on my plate, still no one came. The hostess came to refill my water and I said no thank you, but I haven't seen my waitress at all and I would like my dishes cleared and my check. Still no one came. Finally a waitress (not my waitress) put the check on the table- no how was everything? Can I get you dessert? No thank you. I put my credit card down (btw- $11.95 for veg/tofu curry- $9.95 veg curry + $2.00 for tofu? I feel pretty sure my dish only included 1/2 the normal amount of each. Either way, its too much not to include rice, extra $2.00) still no one came. I removed my cc and put in cash, told the hostess it was there with my Groupon, and left.
I'd hate to see the restaurant full....there was usually 1 or 2 tables open and a few people at the bar, no one waiting. It was 6:45pm Friday. -

We went here on Friday evening (10/7/11), the first Friday after they sold the Groupons. So obviously it was packed and the service was slower than desired, but still attentive (water glasses filled, leftovers boxed and checks given without too much waiting). We enjoyed fresh rolls, seafood Phad Kee Mao and basil fried rice. They were very generous with ingredients - tons of seafood in the Phad Kee Mao, totally living up to its name. Friendly hostess and servers who seem to work well under pressure. I wish they had a waiting list with names though. Hostess was busy filling water glasses and people were just waiting at the door, trying to remember who got there first. Somehow it all worked out but was kinda chaotic. I would love to go back but hope this Groupon rush dies out soon. lol

Really, anywhere that has a gluten-free menu will most likely win my heart. It makes dining in my household so much easier! I'm not gf myself, but the partner is.
The gluten-free fried tofu is pretty much perfect!
They have a good happy hour menu and a surprisingly large dessert menu, although I was too full of yellow curry to try anything at that point.
They also have a number of interesting and yummy cocktails from their full bar.
I definitely recommend, especially for the gluten-free bunch! -

Best Cocktail I ever had! Huckleberry Finn, strong and delicious!
At first this place perplexed me. I kept thinking they would go bust being right down the street from 123 Thai and spending so much on the decor, but after going, I really get it. 123 Thai is more for your quick in and out run, and Fusion is for pleasure. Their coconut soup was to die for, the way it should taste, but the main courses were great, but not quite so memorable. The drinks were the true highlight. I have never felt tipsy after one drink, especially some girly cocktail like that, but after this drink, I had to reevaluate. It was good, citrusy, with real berries giving a weight to it.. It tasted like real homemade strawberry lemonade, I would have never guessed it had so much alcohol. -

Meh. I've definitely had better Thai food, all the dishes we ordered were kinda bland... (possibly our fault for not adding enough stars to our spice)
But hey, they deliver for a minimum $25 food order. I am betting that on a couch potato kinda day, we will order again, to give them a second chance. Besides, it 's nice to have an option other than pizza. -

A friend and I dropped in on a Sunday evening here and ordered the Thai Classical Noodle Soup, which apparently the cook had problems putting together, as it took a long time, even though there were no other diners ahead of us.
My friend's stir-fried chicken dish was cold by the time she began her meal, as she had decided to wait until my noodle soup came.
But the worst part of experience was not the wait. It was the unappetizing food.
The Thai noodle soup was very disappointing: tasteless (as in no spices), mostly overly soft broad-style noodles, a few won tons (also over-cooked), a bit of cilantro, clumps of spinach, lots of crumbled ground chicken. It all seemed to have been thrown together at the last minute with ingredients from the freezer.
The restaurant itself is physically comfortable and appealing--it appears to wrap along Nickerson Street--Seattle's "Canal Street"--, the decor "Thai modern," and the music at just about the right decibel level to allow conversation. -

Thai Fusion redeemed themselves.
The star system was up to 5, and printed on the bottom of the menu.
The waitress did not smell strongly of anything out of the ordinary, and I could smell the food.
There still aren't any lunch specials, but the food was good. I really enjoyed my pumpkin curry.
I'm glad I gave them another shot.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I tried this place on a friend's referral a few weeks ago and keep forgetting to Yelp how great it was! Went on a busy Friday night and the service was amazing! Although the whole staff was busy multiple servers checked in on us, refilled our water, and even accidentally brought us an extra appetizer which we got to keep : ) We really didn't mind the mistake! It ended up being my favorite treat that night, ground chicken I believe in lettuce cups.
If you are craving thai take a trip down to SPU area of Queen Anne and check it out, super yummy and different from all the other places : ) -

Time- Friday evening post a crazy week
Location- Our abode
Somehow, we always come home on a Friday evening and end up in ordering from Thai Fusion.. and a huge bonus to them, they deliver! we have tried everything from their Thai Fusion rice (which the hubs adores) to their summer rolls.. My favorite, is their green curry as well as their summer roles. We had this yummo soup last week with a ton of coconut milk. Havent really noticed an issue with the blandness as a lot of people have said, but I think we add Sriracha to everything anyways.
Trying to stay away from this place but Friday night will roll around, we will look at each other and in unison say "Thai Fusion" night! -

I almost feel bad for giving Thai Fusion 2 stars because the waitress was nice and very attentive, but the food was just ok. I got a plate of mixed veggies with tofu (I don't remember the name of the dish), and it was good, but nothing amazing. I ordered it with brown rice, which was an extra $2. I know how much rice costs, and charging $2 for a tiny bowl of brown rice that was really dry and slightly cold seems insane. My meal and rice cost $13 and I didn't have anything left over. That seems like a lot for mediocre food, not to mention I'm a small lady and usually have leftovers so the price seemed a bit steep for what you get. I felt horrible after eating and was sick the entire next day.
Meh. -

I have to say I probably wouldn't have tried this place if it weren't for the Local Twist coupon. But I'm glad I did. It is a cute restaurant. A fun little date night spot for the husband and I.
The cocktails we had were tasty. I had crab cakes and Pad Thai. Yum! I probably should have just had one or the other but they were both tasty.
My husband had the sliders he enjoyed them as well. This is definitely somewhere we would go to again. -

Wow I like this place.
Great service, great ambiance, decent prices, and best of all, a creative menu that doesn't sacrifice authentic Thai flavor. I don't normally like fusion, but this place is really 90% Thai and 10% Fusion only for some of its ingredients, food presentation, and even its smart marketing ($5 dollar Happy Endings? What IS the Money Shot anyway?)
With the tons of Thai places to choose from in Seattle, they all start to blend together after awhile. This place had a classy but relaxed ambiance and a great menu. It's been awhile since I've been to a place where I ReaLLy couldn't decide what I wanted. It all sounded so good!
Tom YUM! tamarind soup - Perfect balance between sour 'n' sweet. NON-mushy Mushrooms were delicious, full of fresh fungi flavor! Shrimp was not overcooked. The 'Small' portion was large enough for 3 small rice bowls full, easy.
The Duck was juicy good. (see picture) I hate Bok Choy so we subbed it for broccoli. I liked that they placed the rice on top a lot of duck juice/sauce. I hate it when places are shiesty with their duck sauce - this place is not!
I ordered off the BangKok Street Food menu - Chicken, Egg noodle, swimming in a DELISH Yellow curry. The curry was slightly sweet and slightly spicy, just how I liked it. Crispy noodle topped it off and the pickled cabbage on the bottom had bite and was a great flavor contrast to yellow curry soup. Highly recommended.
Oh - and the Iced Coffee Tiramisu is SO GOOD. Melt in your mouth warm on top, Ice cold on the bottom, beautifully presented and full of generously rich coffee flavor.
Lots of free parking right out front. I will be back!Listed in: Save room for DESSERT

Review from Erik M.
I'm continually boggled by how many Thai restaurants the Fremont area can support. But everyone has their favorite, and Thai Fusion seems to have become the favorite for many.
Dropped into Thai Fusion for lunch with some coworkers on a slow afternoon, and was immediately impressed with the interior. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but they've done a nice job making the space comfortable and classy.
The place was pretty much empty when we arrived, maybe a couple of other tables scattered around the restaurant. We were seated and brought menus. Then we waited. And waited. And then the waitress brought us water and would be right back to take our orders. Then we waited. And waited (you get the picture). Even if it had been busy I would have expected faster attention, but nobody else seemed to be bothered by the speed so I played along.
Once we placed our order, the food arrived fairly quickly. I ordered a four (out of five) star Pad See Ew, and it arrived at what I'd consider a high two or low three star for spice. Had to spice it up a bit after the fact to get it a little closer to my liking, but in the end it was just average. My coworkers were all over the map, going with curries, noodles, or street food dishes. At the end of the meal everyone appeared satisfied but nobody bothered to remark on the food.
Even with the lethargic service and average food, I can see how this could become a preferred spot for for lunch. Every item is under $10 and includes soup and rice, so even if you throw in a drink and tip you're still getting out for under $15. I'm sure I'll find myself back there sooner or later, but I doubt I'll be the one to suggest it. -

Okay. We've given the folks at Thai Fusion four chances to earn our loyalty and patronage. Tonight, I'm feeling just plain idiotic that I returned again for take out to serve to our out of town guests. But, honestly, I was just being lazy since the place is only a few blocks away.
But tonight, $50.00 worth of take out ended up in our garbage. The Panang beef was nothing but gristle. Honestly. We couldn't find one piece we could chew through. Our guest actually laid each piece out on her plate and we looked at them and groaned. The orange chicken looked good, but was so amazingly dry -- overcooked and mostly breading -- we ended up tossing it all. It's more than a shame. It's just plain wrong to serve and charge for food that is so badly prepared, and with so little care. When they first opened, I had a few good meals there, but it's incredibly inconsistent, depending on who is cooking. I think the older woman is the culprit. Most likely the owner or the owner's mother. I suppose that's why the place is empty most of the time. Take your chances here, but you might want to 'reward' another restaurant with your hard-earned $$ and your patronage. They are nice people, but c'mon folks! We will NEVER return or recommend this restaurant. -

I started my evening off with a pineapple mojito and it was quite delicious. The drink menu had a lot of options and I enjoyed looking through it before making a decision. Most of the drinks sounded a bit sweet for my taste, but they sounded pretty fun. They had a decent beer and wine menu as well.
We started with the spring rolls which was a nice choice for a healthy starter. It is hard to go wrong with those and they were consistent with ones I have had at other restaurants in the past.
The menu is large- but not too large like some Thai restaurants. It is nicely organized with the choice of meat on each dish. We asked our server for recommendations and she gave us her honest opinion. We were happy we listened to her and enjoyed sharing two entrees and a side of brown rice. The entree size was nice- not too big and not tiny. One per person was a good choice. I would like to go back with more people and try more dishes.
We finished with an interesting desert- banana wrapped in spring roll and deep fried, then topped with ice cream. Again, this was a recommendation from our server. -

Delicious stick meat, you are my weakness!
One dollar skewers at happy hour is the best idea I've heard in a long time. The beef is by far my favorite. They leave it a little pink and it's so tender you barely have to chew it. Combine that with the cucumber sake-tini, which is like summertime in your mouth, and you've got the makings for one awesome afternoon.
The fresh summer rolls are the BOMB. Whatever that sauce is they serve with them is crazy-good and always gets mopped up to the last drop. The drunken noodles are yummy as well. I had the noodles with chicken, 3 stars, and that heat level was perfectly belly-warming while not making my eyes water.
So glad a good restaurant opened in that long-vacant little business strip on Nickerson Street! -

Free wifi once you get the password. We're here for happy hour. It's nothing special but the mandarin ginger martini is pretty good. Decent beer selection on tap. Again nothing special. We were here on a Sunday afternoon and when we got here it was empty. Just got our food. Portions are smallish for the price. Its not looking like there will be any for lunch tomorrow. drunken noodles are pretty good. I ordered it 3.5 out of 5 stars and I'd say it was right on.
Overall I'd come back, but not often. -

ummmm....this place was OK.
I tried really hard to like this place, the atmosphere was really chic and the selection on the menu was huge. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night at 7:00PM and we were only 1 of 3 tables in the entire restaurant. I guess that should have been an indication of things to come. We ordered the pineapple fried rice, papaya salad, chicken pad thai and the orange chicken based on a fellow yelper' s recommendation.
The pad thai was sweet, and I mean it tasted like sugar. I wasn't sure if it is always like this or if the cook refilled the sugar into the salt container that evening. The pineapple fried rice was decent, not much pineapple though, and it probably would have tasted a heck of a lot better if they had used fresh pineapple instead of ones that come from the can. The papaya salad was probably the best dish, the seasoning made it just right, also the added ingredient of green beans was very unique and good. The orange chicken was also quite good, some pieces were fried a little too hard which made it kind of chewy but the flavoring was really good, a little sweet and tangy but not overwhelming.
The total for the 4 dishes and 2 thai iced teas came to $50 dollars including tax but before tip. I thought this was pretty reasonable for the amount of food that we ordered between the three of us. -

Decent food, but it's frustrating to order take-out because the servers who answer the phone can't seem to understand simple requests. How hard can it be to take an order over the phone?

Though I haven't been back since my previous review to know if any changes have been made, I did receive a message from the restaurant saying that they are trying to make improvements. It is always good to know that local business owners take negative feedback into consideration and try to make a better place! Based on their response alone, they earned back a star.
I will consider going back in the future, to see if they have regained the original awesomeness that made me so happy to live so close!2 Previous Reviews: Show all »
