Why is it whenever I come up to visit the Pacific Northwest, I always seem to eat great Thai food?
Chalk up another PNW Thai restaurant with a five star Yelp rating. We came here for lunch and the food was outstanding. They bring sweet and sour soup to start off our lunch--Most excellent soup. We then started with fried tofu with peanut sauce and chicken satay---omg, so good. My companions got filling lunch plates of Pad See Ew and Rad Nah and said they were both excellent. Service was attentive and friendly.

I may have to stop back at this place before leaving the area just to get good Thai food again!

I have had mixed experiences with Thai Fusion Bistro. Their pad thai is pretty good, as is their curry. However, the quality varies from time to time.
The atmosphere is great, it feels intimate and modern at the same time, and they have a nice selection of drinks to choose from. Service is usually quick.
I would also recommend NOT getting take-out. It often seems thrown together and a few times there have been ingredients missing. Another time I called in an order, and when I arrived to pick it up they claimed I never called.
I used to go pretty often, about every other week, but have now started going to Namfon instead, down the street as they are cheaper and more consistent.

I LOVE this place.  Don't be deterred by the hazy 3-ish stars, these people don't know what they're talking about.  This is one of my fave takeout places, the food is always fast and delicious.  Their food adds an extra kick of spice so that 2-stars isn't spice-less-blah like at so many other thai food joints in Seattle

Favorites include: chicken pad thai*, cashew nut chicken, panang curry, fried spring rolls.  My husband and I are slowly making our way through the menu, and even popped in here a while back just to see what the dining-in experience had to offer.  Still 5 stars.

    * the best, superb, awesome, order this!

I lived literally next door to this place for the past year, and I can honestly say I've gotten take-out from them maybe once a week, haha! At first I wasn't a big fan, and I don't know if they hired a new chef or what, but I've fallen in love with their food. I'm going to miss ordering chicken phad thai, yellow curry, and crab won tons when I move later this month. I'll no longer be able to walk here to get my weekly phad thai fix! :(

    REDEEMED!

I finally made it back to Thai Fusion and to my delight I had a much improved experience! The seating and service was efficient and friendly which is good since I was starving. The lunch menu offers several of the dishes from the main menu at a 2 buck discount which is a good deal considering they come with rice and soup complementary. I ordered the Pad Thai with Tofu, (it comes with meat too if that's your bag). It was a really good version of the dish, a generous portion that included braised tofu that was firm and plentiful. There was no problem with having the egg removed this time, to my great relief. I even liked the scoop of brown rice that I opted for as a side, it was nutty and flavorful. I left satisfied and stuffed, even though I passed on the soup, which the server helpfully pointed out had egg in it, which was good attention to detail.

Unlike some Thai restaurants there was no discussion of spice, so it's a "#1 heat" by default, which I remedied with some chili sauce I had brought to the table. I'd like to try this place for dinner to see if that policy changes during that time of day, but this wasn't a deal-breaker by any means, being in control of the spice is a good thing in my book.

Thai Fusion is back on my list of good Thai restaurants, and I place it among the better eateries in the Northgate area now.

After having my mind set on having some Five Guys I got there and realized that EVERYTHING is basically peanut infested... so if you are allergic to peanuts avoid that place like the plague.  Anyway, we had 45 mins before our movie and decided to try Thai Fusion Bistro instead.  I was pleasantly surprised at the taste / quality of the food.  Also, the price / portions were reasonable for being in such a prime spot.  The service was quick and attentive even though the place was full. We ordered:

Thai Iced Tea: A little sweet, but you could still taste the tea flavor so it was good

    Thai Iced Coffee: Strong

Pad Thai w/ Chicken 2 stars:  It was pretty good..however I always prefer pad se ew so I'm a little biased.

5 flavored trout: This is basically a filleted boneless trout that they have cut in half and they have fried the skin side.  It was VERY tasty and moist I'll order this again for sure.

Beef Fried Rice:  Basic thai fried rice, but very good.

The total bill was around $50, and if we hadn't stuffed ourselves and were going home right away there would have been enough leftovers for lunch.

Excellent food every visit...about 5 or so times.  Just this last time...I had the special which cost about $10.00- Red Curry with squash. Ordered the brown rice with it, which was very hearty & tasty.  The combo of the two  was delicious & absolutely amazing.  Hoping Thai Fusion Bistro keeps the dish on the menu for a while.  I want to go back soon!

Again, I'm one that is quite skeptical of Thai restuarants that are more American-nized.. Is that a word? Anyway.. the restuarant itself was pretty nice but busy as heck. Frankly when I go to one of these restuarants, I am never sure what I want. Most of the time, I want something with noodles because I love oodles of noodles!

I decided on the golden noodles with asparagus. Gotta love stir fry veggies served on top of crispy noodles. Spicyness level I went with was 4 stars, because let's face it most places don't put enough bang into each star. Except this place! It was S.P.I.C.Y! Not complaining, just surprised is all. To top it off the dish was amazing. I fell in love with whatever sauce they made instantly. The flavors were like in harmony and made my mouth water. Yes, it really was that good.

Service was ehh... okay for the fact that it was really busy. I'm dying to go back and eat those noodles again.

This review is for a takeout order.  (But the inside part of the restaurant seemed really nice, big, and clean).
I ordered veggie pad see ew.  It was really delicious.  I asked for extra veggies since I was going meatless and they made a delicious pad see ew right up my alley.  Yummy noodles and sauce, and I was pleasantly surprised by all the veggie additions.
Was a little annoyed they charged me $2 extra for the veggies (that is as much as they charge for going from meat to shrimp).  boo!

Coming from a person that has Thai food twice a week, I don't like it.. compared to other Thai restaurants around the Seattle area.

The food was bland but covered in spices (if you order whatever stars) but it's like you are eating a spoon full of spices on plain noodles.

Seating arrangement was not efficient, if you get seated in the cover (in my case they asked me to move into a corner) you will become unnoticed throughout the night.

The wall next to me was dusty...and I felt like they were rushing me out the door.

I should have gone elsewhere but it is definitely convenient if you just came out of a movie!!

I'm sorry, but if I spend 2 days blowing your food out of my ass instead of being out conquering the galaxy like I'm supposed to be doing, you automatically get a 1.  Those are the rules.  At first I thought maybe it was just because I had been inadvertently fasting for 2 days as I plotted my revenge on George Lucas (and spent all day Friday making barbecue I couldn't actually eat), but there comes a point where one has to realize the problem runs deeper than your first dish in 2 days being a spicy one and giving you a stomach ache.

On the upside, the tainted chicken was pretty good as it was going down.  But reality is even if Thai Fusion had not done this to me, they would have received no more than a 2.5 based on 2 facts.  One, the service was lacking.  We got there almost an hour before they were due to close, and they informed us that we had better have ordered, eaten, paid, and left by 10:30 sharp - AND turned away 2 StormTroopers that came in at T-minus 25 minutes to closing.  Two,  their pricing goes something like this:  Picture any Thai dish you would order.  Now picture what you usually pay for said dish at any other restaurant.  Now add 2 dollars to that.  Is 2 dollars a person going to break the bank?  Of course not.  Doesn't make it right.

Thai Fusion, one day I will have my revenge....when I won't have to race to the bathroom mid-battle.

    1 Deathstar.

Thai Fusion Bistro certainly has promise to deliver better offerings than other restaurants residing in Thornton Place.  I'm pleased that they offer brown rice, 4 stars that equate to real spice, and flavorful dishes that will satisfy.  Although, I think that some of the dishes I had were too salty, which I haven't experienced at too many Thai places.  I also think that their drinks aren't worth buying at all because they've contained barely a drop of alcohol and they're quite expensive.

I've been here a couple of times and have left wondering if I should have gone somewhere else after consuming my meal.  Any place that does this to me has me wondering about its wow factor.  Sadly, there isn't much here with Thai Fusion Bistro.

I've been here once. And I haven't been back since. It's a convenient location in the Thornton Place complex, but other than that, nothing is memorable.

Had the panaang curry and some noodle dish. Nothing stood out, but I remember drowning my food in chili sauce (not a good sign about their flavor or lack of flavor).

Prices are also inflated (almost everything in this plaza is though).

There are many other thai places around the area that definitely surpass the taste and value of this place. One time was enough for me.

Typical Thai food with maybe smaller portions than most. Food was decent (I liked my Thai brown fried rice with cashews added, yum) and pretty flavorful. The person taking our orders was friendly and smiling. All around not a bad place if you're in the area.

Minus one star for FORGETTING about my sister's food! Poor thing was waiting hungrily as the rest of us enjoyed our meals. She had to re-order it. WTF. Even though she ordered the same thing as my bf, they forgot.

Minus one star for smaller than average portions. Other places you'd have enough leftovers for a second meal later. Here, not so much.

I went here with my friend after we got of the movies, and what a pleasant surprise!
We were STARVING so we had like everything. I am very indecisive when it comes to looking at a menu, but the waitress was very patient. She gave some suggestions which I am a sucker for, and the food came out pretty fast. The decor is BEAUTIFUL here. The wood wall that holds the alcohol, the chandeliers, the wood votive candle holders on the back wall. Very modern. ON TO THE FOOD::

    - Tom Yum Soup (w/ Chicken) - This soup was SUPER delicious.I am not a big fan of mushrooms, but I didnt mind them with the chicken and the cilantro and green onions were amazing. The soup was thin but almost milk based.
    - Phad Thai Chicken - This is my favorite Thai dish, it was great, but I marked the place down 1 star because I asked for 3 and this was not spicy AT ALL. I usually get the hottest, but my friend isn't into burning his mouth off.
    - Mongolian Beef - This was good, a tiny bit too tender for me and got stuck in my teeth alot. The egg noodles were a little too clumped together, which made me put a huge pile on my plate that I didnt want.
    - Pork Fried Rice - This was good, but I do not like pork. The rice was cooked perfect, and the veggies were fresh.

Service was fast, the server who came out and gave our food was really funny, telling us "yummy yummy" as she put our plates on the table. Great find! We will definitely be back.

Pork fried rice had been on my mind all day so I stopped in here before heading in to see a movie and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. I was greeted promptly by a young lady that took my order and let me know how long it would be. The food was ready just under the 10 minute timeline she gave me so that went very well.

I got my order to go since I didn't have a whole lot of time and was able to sit at one of the tables outside of the restaurant which was great as it was a beautiful day. While I was waiting for my food I had a chance to look around and really took a liking to the decor and the layout of the place. It's a little on the small side but has a good amount of seating and they can open up the front on nice days.

The food was really good with lots of big chunks of pork and fresh vegetables mixed in with the rice. Very tasty and made for some good leftovers the next day as well. Definitely looking forward to trying this place again when I have more time.

My friends and I had dinner and drinks over there while waiting for a movie to start. The decor is modern and seating is comfortable. However, the food was just ok.

I ordered a beer, "Pyramid Haywire Hefeweizen" right off the menu and they told me they don't have it. :-| My friend ordered chicken red curry with steam rice. The chicken was tender. But, the curry itself was actually a bit too sweet. (curry with coconut milk is generally sweet, but this one was way too sweet)

The service is 2 stars to me. The server lady was kind of in rush or something. I felt rushed during dinner. I'd hope she would have had better attitude and smiley face.

I'd come back if the mall is close and I don't have a place to kill time while waiting for my movie!

I went here with a couple girlfriends a little while ago and it was wonderful! We all ordered seafood dishes, one was a salmon dish, a shrimp dish and a mixed seafood dish. They were all awesome, and the perfect spice.

The drinks were also really good, but really expensive!

Service was great; the gal that took care of us knew one of my friends and so they had a few short conversations. They dealt with us taking up our table for nearly two hours (not the servers fault, we just couldn't shut up!) and let us stay a little past closing.

    I will be back!

Was lookin for a Thai spot in the Northgate area and was pretty sad to find that Jai Thai had closed down.

By luck, we stumbled on Thai Fusion in the new Thornton complex and I thought...why not?

Honestly, I'm not a fusion fan at all, so I completely ignored the fusion menu. The fact that it was fusion already made me skeptical and the prices were not very pleasing either.

We went with Chicken Pad See Ew and Yellow Curry. The food came out LIGHTNING fast.

I am a big Pad See Ew eater so it didn't impress me too much, portion or taste wise but there was a lot of chicekn so I appreciated that.

The curry was really really tastey and came with a LOT. The only problem was that the veggies (potatoes especially) didn't taste very cooked and definitely hadn't soaked the curry....makes sense considering the speed of the dishes coming out. That was kind of a let down.

Plus I had to pay for rice....since when do you pay for rice when you order curry?

Anyways, the service was good (no one was there) and the decor was pleasant. Nice area so I really didn't mind being there at all.

I'd definitely go there again to try other things....but only if I'm in the area and at most like once a month.

Ever since moving to Northgate last year, my roommate and I have taken it upon ourselves to explore the food options around the area, particularly the ones in the newer Thornton Place vicinity.

Both of us sorely regretted coming here. To this day, Thai Fusion is regularly the butt of our jokes and a reason for nostalgic grimaces whenever we pass by it on the way to the movies or next-door neighbor Jewel Box.

The interior is certainly clean and modern, though their feng shui seemed a touch out of place; it felt as if they had tried to force one too many tables than the restaurant could comfortably accommodate. Service was also pretty disappointing. We came in during that gray span of limbo in the hours between lunch and dinner, and likewise it was only sparsely occupied. Nevertheless, we were told to seat ourselves and with the bare exception of taking our orders and bringing water (after an arguably overdue wait), we were left to our own devices. The tables still piled high with dirty dishes from previous customers around us were hardly an improvement; I swear they were still untouched by the time we left.

I ordered the Noodle Soup of which I couldn't bother myself to finish even half. My roommate ordered a salad I've since forgotten the name of - which normally wouldn't be an issue were it not something I absolutely insist you avoid. When her dish arrived, we initially thought there had been some sort of sorry mistake. Nope! The half-head of cabbage on one end with the salad contents in a steaming pile on the other... was, well, it. It was nothing short of comical to watch her literally peel and tear off leaf by leaf, scoop the mixture in, roll it up, and shove it in her mouth while trying to retain some degree of decency. As she later pointed out, she could have easily made this at home.

There are so many better (and cheaper) Thai and Asian Fusion options nearby that are well-worth the detour from this place. The generous two stars are based on, unfortunately yes, that I would begrudgingly give this place a second chance provided the two following conditions: a) a friend *really* wanted to go there and b) that they cover my end as well.

Went here with a friend a couple of weeks ago after we were looking for a new place to try.  The place was fine, nothing special.

I had the Spicy Basil with tofu, which was overall good, but could have used far more basil.  If a dish includes basil in the name, it should be jam-packed with so much basil that it makes my head spin.  Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.  However, the sauce was nice and there was plenty of tofu and mushrooms.

The interior of the place is pretty nice, though smaller than I expected when I got inside.  Very modern feel.

Our waitress was polite and the food came out quickly.  We constantly had our water refilled, which was great.

Overall, we had a fine meal here.  The only issue is that it wasn't really memorable, so it's unlikely that I will be back.

HORRIBLE....this place is just nasty!  If I could, I wouldn't even give this place a star.

My boyfriend and I tried this place out a few months ago.  We're frequent movie goers across the street so we though we'd try it out.  BAD choice!  I eat thai food often, and I know whats good and what's dog food.  We ordered Pad Thai and Pud See Ew--we both took a bite of it and asked for our check.  Yes, these noodles usually have egg in it, but it reeked of egg and tasted like raw uncooked eggs.  The service was okay, the waitress was nice enough to pack up our food--which of course was thrown away once we left the place.

I'm relatively new to Thai food, but this is one of my favorite so far.  I love to hit the hole in the wall places, and this is one of the better ones.  We were there about a week ago, my husband got a noodle dish that was tasty.  I had the special, ground chicken.  Which sounds odd and plain, but was one of the top three thai dishes I have ever had.  Atmosphere was a bit noisy, but that was ok as I didn't embarrass myself when repeatedly saying how good the food was :)

If I lived in the Seattle area I would eat here at least a few times a month.

I think I'm done with hole in the wall Thai places for awhile.  We've been going to lots of the hole in the wall places mainly because I still have an affinity for the places the homely places I used to walk into...  I might of found all of the good ones in Seattle.

Thai Fusion Bistro was not one of those places.  Nice, modern, clean decor with a complimentary menu.  I've been here twice and haven't been disappointed with anything I've ordered.  I have to say it's slightly on the salty side.  You might have to eat a little more rice than usual. That's alright.

BTW, My girlfriend always gets Thai ice tea when we go out for Thai.  She gives that a thumbs up as well.

Overall, a good Thai option for anywhere in Seattle.

I've definitely had better pad thai in Seattle... for cheaper too. I'll admit that the location is quite good because when my friend and I missed the IMAX showing for Inception, we killed time by grabbing dinner at Thai Fusion Bistro. Parking's never a problem because you can just park in the bajillion spots in the Thornton garage or the Park N' Ride across the street.

The service was very mediocre, nothing too spectacular. The food was really just OK. Like I said, I've had better pad thai and nothing really stood out to me except for the high prices. I think it was close to $9 for just pad thai... come on. They all pretty much taste the same but for $7, I can find something tastier.

My bf and I stumbled upon this place on accident but I guess it was worth a try. We were seated right when we walked in and the waitress brought us our water right away.
The setting is more modern than your usual Thai restaurant with a more americanized feel. Cleanliness isn't a problem here.

I was a bit iffy about the place at first. I'm not much a fusion fan because I prefer the traditional. Their menu was more on the expensive side also and had quite interesting fused selections.

We ordered Chicken yellow curry, Larb gai, and Pork phad kee mao with a side of sticky rice.
Chicken yellow curry - The flavor was right HOWEVER the potatoes were raw!
Larb gai - It was too sweet. It may be good for those who prefer it that way but I thought it should have been more sour than it was.
Phad kee mao - The noodles weren't cooked long enough either because they were still hard. The flavor was okay but I felt like it was too sweet also.

Despite the undercooked food, our experience here was okay. The waitress was nice and refilled our water constantly, which was a plus. However, I probably wont be coming back here as there are better and cheaper Thai places to go to.

I really like Thai food. Have been trying different places here in Seattle, disappointed by most. Not disappointed by this one. Liked that they have plenty of ingredients in each dish I've had so far. I haven't tried them during a busy dinner time though. Also, they are on the expensive too. Service has also always been quick with taking orders, refilling water, etc.

I owed Misty M. a big favor, so when we were both starving and about to delve into a bag of Reeses Peanut Butter Eggs, we ended up settling on "that new Thai place near Northgate," -- my treat. I'm sort of glad we did, because it will prevent me from making this mistake again in the future.

I ordered Swimming Rama, which is really simple -- peanut sauce on spinach, with pork. The pork had no flavor to it, whatsoever -- and wasn't even worth eating if it wasn't covered in peanut sauce. The peanut sauce [which I ordered 'as hot as possible'] was tasty, as was the side of soup. I had the brown rice, which was a little dry for my standards but I wouldn't detract based on that. Misty's food was downright flavorless [but I'll let her elaborate in her review].

The service was great... however I can tolerate bad service for good food, but not vice versa, sadly :(

Too overpriced and their food tastes like doodoo. Enough said. Check out Chada Thai on Greenwood and 125th. Much better place.

My companion took me here, you know, to try something new! AWESOME!!! I love trying new food places.

I had the Pad See Ew with tofu.

I saw it. I said EW.

    No, really.

Actually I tasted it, but that doesn't go well with the joke. It was actually very pretty to look at.

Just because I order tofu doesn't mean my food should taste like a big gelatinous blob of nothing! I'm not convinced that's the issue here though. Allie's food was not vegetarian and it also tasted of nothing.

It was totally flavorless, the broccoli didn't even taste like broccoli (and that's my favorite veggie EVAR!!! How sad.) Heat does not = flavor, at least in my world, and even that was lacking.

The soup before the meal was pretty delicious, and the service was more than excellent and very attentive, even the prices were amazingly reasonable. I wish the main dishes were just as awesome to match.

To sum it up, it's Thai food for the (extremely) unadventurous. No new flavor, heck, not much flavor at all really.

Cool, trendy little Thai restaurant located in the Thornton Place complex.

We came here before a movie one night and felt bad for cheating on Chaiyo (our Thai restaurant of choice). This place pleasantly surprising though. As I stated earlier, the venue is very cool inside. A lot of nice decor, I would say the lighting is a little TOO dark, but nonetheless very appealing.

We ordered the Pad Thai, which I think is the best way to judge a Thai Restaurant. It was very tasty, the 3/5 stars for spiciness was plenty enough if you're ever worried about that. The sprouts, spiciness, lime, and other vegetables really complimented the noodles and chicken. We also ordered the Pad Pud which was exceptional as well.

Good place! Neat decorations, and they also have a discount if you show them your movie stub.

I really do not know what people are talking about when they say this place has small portions. I get stuff to go and I don't think it's physically possible to put all that food in your body during one sitting. Whenever I get food from here I know that for my money I am being given a Thai supply for two meals. I want video proof of someone consuming their entire takeout order from this place that isn't Michael Phelps.

I've had dinner and lunch portions from here and in both circumstances the food was delicious and could easily serve two. A pineapple fired rice I got actually lasted me for three and I assure you, I am not a light eater at all.

Only draw back is the pricing on a few things, 5.50 for a side of steamed veggies? Apps could be cheaper.

My favorites so far are: Pineapple Fried Rice, Chicken Pad See Ew, and Garlic Delight.

My girlfriend and I have been here a couple of times now and tried something new each time. So far every dish I have had has been great. I am a huge fan of their curry's. My favorite is the yellow curry.

The location of the place is also great. It is inside the new Thornton Place at Northgate. Unlike lots of Thai restuarant you dont feel like you are eating inside someone's house. The location also means there is lots of free parking available in the garage downstairs. THe place is very modern feeling.

The only possible knock I can think of against this place is you have to order the rice seperately.

Food is decent and the portions are large, but pricey for thai food. They must be trying to pay their rent being at Thornton Place. Would go here again? Probably not and only if I find myself craving thai food while shopping at Northgate but even then..... I would rather get more delicious and authentic Thai for a cheaper price at Thai Tom, Vienthong or KaoSamai.
And it took FOREVER for them to bring water, our menus, the food, and ringing up the bill. Granted we were a group of 5, there were only 2 other tables occupied with max of 2ppl each, it took way too long for them to take care of us and everyone else.

Woo, I am now the first to review!

I ordered takeout from here for dinner. Apparently, they just opened last Friday. The staff were super nice and offered me water while I was waiting for my food.

I ordered the phad thai (I'm scared to be adventurous at new Thai places, gimme a break!) and the phad see ew.

The food came out really fast which was a plus. For the price though, I thought the portion was a bit lacking - $10 for each entree.

Definitely a solid 3 star - depending on subsequent visits I might bump it up a bit.

Got takeout a few nights ago, and save for a mixup in the order (even though I repeated myself several times on the phone), it was ready quickly and arrived home piping hot.

I got the cashew chicken (in sweet chili sauce) with brown rice, and the husband got an appetizer of the fried tofu with peanut sauce and brown rice. Both were very tasty - especially the brown rice, which was a combo of different rice that tasted and had a consistency closer to wild rice. Yum! I also had a black sticky rice for dessert which was pretty much standard fare for the item.

Like other reviewers I agree that the portion sizes were pretty small - the $7 appetizer was a remarkably small amount of tofu (especially since main entree tofu dishes were generally only $2 more), rice is REALLY expensive ($2 for a single person's serving of rice??) and the meat to vegetable ratio is a bit off. Then again, most entrees aren't above $10 so there's not much to complain about.

Overall Thai Fusion Bistro starts off strongly for me and we'll likely be trying more items in the future.
