CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP...OVERRATED!!!! CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, CLAP...OVERRATED!!!! Do not waste your time or your hard earned money.
1. - The food was decent, but the waiter/owner looked like he just rolled out of bed.
2. - My family (2 adults & 3 kids) required a 15% surcharge! Are you serious? I guess he felt bad because about 10 minutes later he said he will not add the charge. TOO LATE...I am outraged.
3. - I stayed to try the food because of the reviews I read here, and the food was decent. BUT THE PORTIONS ARE WAY TOO SMALL!
4. - The kicker...out of the kitchen came a lady with a head tie that my wife wears to bed! THAT IS IT!!!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY! -

i wish i could give thai by thai a sixth star. SO GOOD!
the flavors in every dish explode. it is insane how much flavor they are able to put in each dish. i like spicy - i ask for "thai spicy". they melt my face off and all the other flavors remain intact within the spice. i dont even understand how its possible. every dish i've ever eaten at thai by thai has been amazing.
my first time eating here, i was on my half hour lunch break. i ended up forgetting my wallet, which i didnt realize until after i finished my meal. the owner let me speed home to grab it, which i never forgot. that type of kindness is typical at thai by thai. he is attentive, funny, and friendly. the rest of the staff is a bit meek, but i suspect it might be a cultural thing. he runs a tight ship.
it is hard to find better thai food anywhere, let alone northeast florida. between thai by thai and kokoro around the corner, palm coast has such great asian food. i would fly back to palm coast just to dine here again, and highly recommend it to anybody. -

Smaller restaurant, but cozy. Sat a group of 9 with no problem. Service was efficient and accurate.
Being from Seattle I think it's safe to say I'm versed in Thai food (mostly curry). I enjoyed the overall experience, however it wasn't as thick as I'd like to see; flavor was good though.
There was sufficient amount, although I would have appreciated more rice.
Those in my group who expressed an opinion had similar thoughts.
I'd go again.... -

My wife and I drove down from St. Augustine to try the Thai by Thai restaurant on a recommendation from a friend. After having a little trouble locating it (it is in a remote part of a shopping mall in Palm Harbor), we had what I can only describe as a fantastic lunch. We had yellow curry chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai. These dishes were delicious, just spicy enough, authentic and beautifully served. The Wonton soup and the Spring Rolls were very good as well. There is a great use of coconut in many of the dishes, imparting a sweet taste and aroma to them.
The service was excellent. We received individual attention by the owner, and the servers were attentive and efficient. We arrived at about 11:30 am and were about the only ones in the restaurant then, but that didn't last long. By 12, the place was full.
All in all, a wonderful experience. We love international foods, and will definitely be back for more. Good job! -

Palm Coast has exploded over the past few years, but I think it's safe to say that no Asian influenced restaurant has come close to rivaling Thai by Thai. When I come home to visit my mom I always make it a point to stop by for lunch and a thai iced tea ( if I feel like putting in extra time at the gym :) )

I am really glad this place exists. People at work were raving about it, but they also were recommending this really bad "Asian Thai Place" (that's actually it's name) closer to home. So I couldn't trust their judgement. Anyway, Thai by Thai is fantastic. It's clean, a/c, staff is friendly, lots of seating and parking, price is great.
The food is crazy delicious, with lots of variety. The owner and his wife take turns going abroad and brining back special ingredients. And for the two weeks following their return, the regulars pack the place like they're handing out gold. I'm not joking. It's that special. I usually get Gang Mussamun with Tofu, and they do it up right. The owner himself is hilarious. He says "you want the special" (not a question, he's offering because he likes you) and you'd better take it. You make him annoyed, you don't go back. Still not joking. Anyway, go there, frequently! -

Let me begin by saying that I am often skeptical of what passes as "Thai" food in most restaurants throughout North Florida. Thai by Thai though is the only authentic Thai restaurant I have found in all of St Augustine, Palm Coast and Flagler and well worth the drive no matter where you live.
Thai by Thai is aptly named because the owners are actually from Thailand and therefore familiar with the complexities of traditional Thai food. My family is Thai and this is the closest to my Mom's home cooking I have found in this area.
Real green papaya in the Som Thom, kaffir lime leaves in the Tom Yum and Pad Thai with peanuts, cilantro and tamarind. These are the subtle differences that separate TBT from so many other so called "Thai" restaurants.
Authentic Thai food, very reasonably priced, great portions and fresh seasonal specials at times also. Service is always fast and friendly and the restaurant is always clean. Thai by Thai has been a consistent favorite of mine for years and I hope you enjoy it as much I do! -

Visiting Palm Coast, decided to try the Thai here. The restaurant has simple decor and it's clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive.
We started with fresh spring rolls (not fried) which were very tasty. We also had soup - and i cannot remember the name but it has coconut milk and perhaps some chicken? well, if you know the name of it - that soup is good and if you want to try it - ask them what it is. I am not a soup person but really enjoyed this.
I had the shrimp pad thai - it's my favorite. The portion size was good - not overloaded, just enough. It was good, not full of flavor though. It was a little bland.
My friend had a dish which has an odd name - tom something...I wish I could remember BUT it was very tasty and I kind of wish I had ordered that. Luckily, it had sauce which I drizzled over my pad thai. I asked for hot, it wasn't. She asked for mild, it wasn't so luckily, i took her sauce and got the spicy i like.
I would go back to this restaurant. fingers crossed that the pad thai is better next time. -

It's a great little place. The food is fantastic, and staff is friendly, but they know how to leave you alone if you need to be. Simple, clean, and pretty consistent.

Stopped in based on a recommendation from our instructors. The service was excellent, and the food was equally good. I had the Beef Pad Krapraow and shared some chicken Pad Tai. The food was prepared perfectly and very timely. I highly recomend.

Pretty good Thai food. Cheap lunch specials; about 8-9 bucks. Extra jasmine rice is $1 if you so desire. Portions are so-so, it's not like Chinese where you have enough for two full meals. Well at least it won't make you fat if you scarf the whole thing;)

I would like to give Thai by Thai a 2 1/2 starts but that's not really an option.
"Meh. I've experience better" is a very accurate description of my dining experience with this restaurant
I went to Thai by Thai for lunch (this may have been the reason for the bad experience). I got there at about 12:30 and the place was pretty busy, but their were a few tables still open. I waited to be seated (but I don't think you need to do that here since I saw other people just walk in and seat themselves) The waiter (or owner) handed me a table setting and menu as he was hurrying on to another table.
I ordered the Pad See Ew. I really can't complain about the food. It was OK but could have had a lot more flavor (I order not spicy so maybe that's why it wasn't very flavorful?).
The worst thing about this restaurant was the service. The waiter/waitress ran around like "chickens with their heads cut off". I would NOT recommend this as a place to go for a quick lunch as a group. I watched as 3 or 4 different groups sat and 1 by 1 their food was delivered every few minutes. I guess they were only cooking 1 plate at a time and didn't want any of them to get cold but this seemed like a really horrible way to be served to me. The pricing was pretty good 7-8 dollars for a lunch "special" and generally a dollar more for the diner price. They did have some different seafood dishes on their menu for 14-20 dollars.
Overall it seems like if you go to Thai by Thai at the right time of day, when it's not busy and they have the ability to compose themselves, you will have a great dining experience. If you go at a busy time you're likely to have a really terrible one.
My advice: If it looks pretty busy and you can go somewhere else, GO. -

This place has SUCH killer thai food! Great spot to bring friends for lunch, or takeout for dinner. I really enjoyed their spicy Tom Yum soup and the Shrimp Pad Thai.

We took 2 friends here one Friday night in Feb. and though the service was fair and the rice was molded into a big heart (that gets cute-points), it didn't make up for the meal. We all started with a Thai Iced tea, but when our drinks arrived it We got some econo-version that tasted as if it had come from a powdered mix-- for nearly $3. Nobody was impressed and we consumed the water (which was clorinated from the tap) instead. Then, our meals arrived. The plates were shaped like leafs but the flavor was made spicy by addition of crushed red pepper (strike #2). We were not offered more rice (strike #3). Overall, our entres were clearly edible, but nothing special. Portion size was so moderate everyone in the party at the end was still a bit hungry. Additionally, the tables were so close together, we could hear the neighbors conversation quite easily and it distracted from having any nice interaction with our party except for casual chat. We meant to treat our out-of-town guests to a nice evening, but this was a disappointment. For a better meal, next time we'll grab one of those skillet frozen things from Publix and get the rice from here as takeout. Good thing they are in the same plaza!

The first time I went to this place it was OK. After two more visits I blackballed it. The food was a train wreck. It tasted like they were retraining a bad Chinese take-out cook. I'd rather eat something from a box.

With all the different varieties of restaurants its hard to say which one would be the best of all but I think Thai by Thai would be a contender for the top restaurant in Palm Coast. My wife, son and I have been eating here for a few years now and have never been disappointed. I've tried nearly everything on the menu and the food is consistently delicious and fresh. The restaurant is simply decorated, tidy and clean. The owner and staff have always been friendly, efficient and professional. I hope this place stays in business forever.
