I think it's some of the better Thai takeout I've had in the city, and I've tried several places. I got the Indian Noodles, and it was really surprisingly fresh. The chicken was real chicken, not that oddly textured stuff that you often get in Asian takeout. The sauce was light but flavorful, and the vegetables were fresh, they even had a bit of crunch!
I mean, when I give this place 4 stars I'm not saying it's equivalent to a nice sit-down place. I'm saying that for the price and the speed, it's some pretty good takeout. I've had much MUCH worse, and rarely had much better! It isn't earth-shattering stuff, but it isn't nearly as cheap-tasting as most other takeout. And they have some unique menu offerings, which is always appreciated since those menus can get redundant.....
My co-worker and I ordered a lunch special through grub-hub from here. I ordered a steak stir fry...the actual meal was a 2/5 stars. The dish came inside a foam tray, and the amounts were not much. It was divided in half, half contained my cucumber salad (nothing special just lettuce and chopped cucumbers), and the other half my dish, which is a little stingy for me. The appetizer (my cucumber salad) should come separately and not take the space that my entree comes in.
The entree was a bed of rice, and stir fry steak over it with vegetables (peppers and onion mostly). There was like 6-7 steak pieces, which I thought was a bit stingy too...Frankly, I'd be better off making a better, larger more tasting meal at home and bringing it for lunch, but because I didn't, I'm writing this review.
Nevertheless, it is alright and will give you a nice meal if you don't know what else to order, or if you have a slight thai craving. I will probably not order carry out again, but a sit-in experience here might be different.
I am dancing between a two star and a three star here. But I ultimately must land on a two, because I have experienced better.
This place does seem like a thai food oasis in an otherwise food desert. However, that does not make me want to seek it out.
If you are in the neighborhood and are hungry, do go here. It is thai food afterall.
Here's the insight I can give: the food is super greasy, the service is really great, it is BYOB. Lunch special, while a much smaller portion than a dinner portion (duh, it is like that every where) is a good deal for $5.99. Soup, appetizer, entree. I would say, stay away from the pad thai, it was a let down.
In the end, I would go back here because I am in this neighborhood a lot, and the options are limited. If you are LOOKING for Thai, go three more stops on the red line and be happy.
the very best spring rolls on the planet!! a must go to place if you want yummy thai and not wanting to spend a million dollars for it!
did i mention yummy? mmmmmmm.
I admit I've only ever ordered takeout from Thai Aroma... about a billion times. Probably one of the best Thai places around for the price. Their curry dishes are excellent and I've tried them all. When ordering you can choose the hotness of the dishes out of a scale of six different levels. I've tried each level. The hottest is a little too hot for me, I admit, but it was still good. I've tried other dishes outside the curries and they were good but not great, but still a good value for the price.
They deliver FAST, almost always within 45 minutes and the delivery guys are very polite.
I've decided it's time. Time to rate Thai Aroma 4 stars.
Now I work right by this place, in a land where there is very little selection of eateries for out to lunch times. I've been to Thai Aroma many, many times over the last year and a half. So many times I may have over-thought it on my prior 3-star rating.
I've had several successful single diner lunch experiences. Come in just for a Tom Kai soup w/vegetables and lots of spicy heat. Don't forget the lunch special, best deal around! It's always relaxing and quiet here at lunch time, nice to read or have a good gossip session with yer girlfriend!
My faves: Crazy cousin, Curry w/vegetable tempura (I think that's the name, it's on the last page), all the soups, all the smoothies, crab rangoon.
When the craving hits... Thai Aroma!
When you've got 8 bucks... Thai Aroma!
Lookin' for a treat? ... Thai Aroma!

Stuck in a rut? Spice it up at Thai Aroma!
I loved their extensive menu and choose your own spice options. Yes, that's right, you get to choose your own spice level. Isn't that cool?
1 is very mild, no spice, and 6 is Thai spice hotness, so hot in fact that it comes with a disclaimer that if it's too hot for you, tough noogies.
I opted for the level 4 spice, since this was my first experience here and wasn't quite sure how hot it would be because every Thai restaurant has a different interpretation on hot factors. However, I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. My Panang Curry with Beef was amazing and it had just the right amount of kick for the mood I was in last night.
My boyfriend, Dave, had their cashew chicken, with a spice level of 2. However, he mistook a section of jalapeno as a bell pepper and his spice level suddenly spiked up to a level 5. It was so funny he turned bright red and drank half his glass of water in one gulp.
When he saw that I was laughing at him, he found another piece of jalapeno and said that I should try it. I did and the spice didn't hit me right away, but when it did oh boy did I turn red and I too drank half my water in one gulp along with the Merlot we had brought to enjoy with dinner. So very funny.
Then as we were enjoying our crab rangoon, Jenn H. and Craig B. came in and it was so fun to see familiar faces in the neighborhood! This just proves that great minds do think alike, and would most likely agree that Thai Aroma is a great place if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a good meal at a reasonable price, but don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
I rarely ever trash a restaurant, even if I don't like it very much. I can usually find one saving grace or unique thing about it that makes me say "well... I'll just never go there or recommend it to anyone". However, in the case of Thai Aroma I almost feel that it is my duty to give an honest review that will hopefully help to deter business to this sad establishment. To start things off our server took our order while reading something and never made eye contact with us once... my wife even paused during ordering to see if she could get a bit of attention, nothing. We were never asked if we wanted something to drink, so we stuck with water, with no ice. I know we could have ordered something, but the server was soo bizarre and uninterested that we just went along for the ride in hopes that it would be over soon. We would have left, but we were just grabbing a quick lunch while waiting to run an errand and didn't have time to find another place to eat. We ordered spring rolls, which were without question, the worst I have ever had in my life. The wrapping actually had the texture and flavor of newspaper that had been left in a puddle on a Chicago street and the soy sauce did nothing to mask the cool garbage they served us. We also has pot stickers, which were fine... frozen and cooked... hard to fuck that up. Then we had chicken soup. Not a Thai chicken soup... no this was literally chicken soup (with some rice noodles) that you could get at any mom and pop restaurant (minus the rice noodles) in the country. Not only was it boring, it wasn't Thai at all. My wife had pepper steak which was nothing more than very old beef (I have cooked and worked in restaurants for years and I know what very old cooked meat looks and tastes like), and some canned vegetables and "Thai Gravy", whatever that is... it tasted like a microwave dinner. Needless to say, she didn't eat much of her food. I had "Crazy Noodles"... ground chicken and some other crap vegetables thrown together with thick noodles (which were actually OK on their own). I asked the waitress for it to be served very spicy and she asked me to look at a heat scale on the menu and choose how spicy I wanted it. I selected #6, the spiciest they had. When my food came it was covered in black pepper (what?!) and wasn't even remotely spicy. Not only is black pepper rarely if ever used in Thai food, it is not spicy. I was hoping for some dried Thai chili or at least some sort of spicy sauce that they tossed the food in. Nope. On top of that they sat a 6 top of kids with 2 adults right next to us, in an empty restaurant.... and on top of that it took us a long time to get our check to get the hell out of there. Please do yourself a favor and keep driving or walking. They also give you a fork and knife to eat with, as if I'm too American to use chopsticks. There are plenty of other Thai restaurants in Chicago that will please. I hope to God this place goes out of business... it is an embarrassment to a great food city. Thai Aroma? Try Die Alone-a.
I have to update my review because as it stands, I go to Thai Aroma pretty often so I must like it better than three stars.
I almost always go in for lunch because I get my nails done in the same strip every week. You cant beat the lunch special for under seven bucks. Soup, appetizer and entree.
I have ordered delivery (yeah, its not that far from my place, I could walk there and pick it up, but I dont..) several times and it always arrives well before the estimated delivery time and still hot.
The Pad Thai (which I still think is a bit greasy) and the Red Curry are my favorite items. They tend to be pretty consistent.
The staff has been very attentive and friendly, although sometimes a bit aloof. But for a seven dollar lunch special I dont really care.

I ate here once by myself and it was okay.
For eating by myself, I didn't feel alone, the atmosphere was pretty inviting but the food was just okay. At the time, I was eating seafood but thought it was all very rubbery. The fried tofu was pretty good, and it was a huge portion. I prob could have gotten the tofu as a meal.
Not bad, I might go back considering it's one of the few places I've found with a parking lot and it BYOB.
In general, I don't order from places with "Aroma" in the name. Thai Aroma, Pizzeria Aroma ... they all seem to be situated in strip malls, and have those generic Kinko's-printed menus that litter my hallway with alarming frequency. They're like Super-Saver restaurants. And really ... aroma? Why not just call your place, "Smells Like Thai!"
Recently, though, I was looking for something new -- something that didn't involve making my own dinner, mind you -- and Thai Aroma kept coming up on GrubHub, so I thought, why not?
Why not indeed. Thai Aroma provided me with a perfectly serviceable dinner. The fish cakes were on the high end of good -- not the best I've had, but better than average. The rama broccoli was excellent, though I may be one of the few guys out there calling for more broccoli. The panang noodle was a mistake. The sauce was good, and the portion was healthy, but I must remind myself to never never never order wide noodles for delivery. The noodles were a nasty glutinous mess glued together underneath all the other ingredients. Not at all appetizing.
Bonus: Free appetizer with $15 delivery! If you get a couple of entrees, you'll probably hit that mark. And apps include almost anything -- egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoon, pot stickers. The crab rangoon was crab rangoon. Nothing to write home about, but good.
Overall, Thai Aroma did the job. I'd order from them again, and if I do, I'll probably bump their stars. (That sounds dirty.) But there are enough other Thai options within delivery range that they're not going to be high on my list.
hello 'lunch special' RIPOFF
...please do pay more than half the price for less than half the food
*$5.99 advertised as appetizer + entree*...im thinking AWESOME i got so much food ordering those items seperately last time that this will be great
...actually turns out to be 1/4 of appetizer and less than 1/2 of entree...and it wasnt that great either
my SINGLE egg roll was mucho greasy...my pad see eiw (which is supposed to have a sweet sauce) had ahem NO suace...just my lil packet of soy sauce that came wrapped in my napkin (and no ur inclusion of chopsticks wont save u on this review)
like last times experience chicken was way dry...if u dont know how to cook it...dont offer it...also there is sumthin up with the hot/chili paste they give u...its sour...its gross...its just not quite right
if theres one thing i hate more than not-so-great food its being ripped off and having not-so-great food on top of that...goodbye thai
ps...if u would have simply told me that portions were half size...i wouldnt be pissed right now...cause i wouldnt have ordered it to begin with :)

Breathe in... smell that Thai Aroma...then realize it's like Thai Febreeze covering up some not-so-goodness. It was delivered quick like Thai, looked like Thai and smelled like Thai, and that's where it ends. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai from here and while it was OK, it was definitely not as good as other Thai that I have had in the city. The egg rolls were pretty good, but I really don't think I'll be ordering from here again. The Pad Thai was pretty much tasteless, and overly orange.
After a year and a half in Chicago I have only found 2 places that I think provide decent takeout (both Japanese,) this is not one of them. Ordered 2 dishes and the delivery took over an hour and the food was INSANELY greasy, so much so that I couldnt even taste the food, it was just grease. The food was flavored well but just sat in my stomach all night and was not a good feeling. Another failed attempt at Chicago delivery.
Ah, much better after a few years. I've been avoiding this place due to some prior bad experiences...but tonight, it was a quick, fast BYOB option...and that's exactly what I needed! (Didn't feel like walking the extra few blocks to TAC Quick)
The key here is dining IN. While the service wasn't super attentive, it was just fine...and our dishes arrived at rapid speed. Nice! Much better than my prior take-out/delivery failures.
Crab Rangoon: 5 pockets of piping hot cream cheese, score.
Rama Brocolli: PERFECT. Seriously, and for $7.
Penang Noodle with Beef: Quite good, though a bit messy.
Well priced, well located (ok, I'm biased), BYOB, good food and decent ambience. Great for a bigger table for a weekend BYO excursion (call ahead)...
Mmmm, BYOB: Bring Yo Own Buena Park!
Oh, and I suggest the Bali Smoothie...a splurge at $3.99, but very tasty.

I am in love with the Thai rolls. If I could find fresh basil leaves of that size & quality in a store somewhere I would be in heaven.
Ordered last night via GrubHub - had lemon grass chicken & won-ton soup along with a Thai roll - everything was tasty, cooked well, no suspicious meat pieces, and leftovers reheated nicely today for lunch :) The spiciness options on the online menu were accurate as well.
Food was here within 40 minutes of ordering during prime dinner hours & nothing was missing.
3.5 Stars
Their lunch specials are tempting, but the regular menu prices were very affordable too. Besides the soup of the day had chicken in it, and the free appetizer selection wasn't too appealing.
I order their Pad Thai Tofu ($7), which was a bit too sweet for my taste. Either the dish lacked depth and flavor, or the sweetness was too overwhelming. The lime juice added some tang, but not enough to counterbalance the sugar. Mind you, I'm nitpicking. The Pad Thai was alright overall.
The Vegetable Fried Rice ($6.50) was standard. They certainly didn't shortchange on the vegetables. I only wish they chopped them smaller (we're talking about tempura size chunks here).
The Tempura can be ordered without the shrimp. For $5.99, it was large appetizer! Definitely enough to feed two people. I was expecting Japanese Tempura Sauce, but it was served with Thai sweet and sour sauce (with crushed peanuts).
The service was a bit slow and a bit reserved, but the food here is good. Not THE best I've had, but you can't go wrong here, especially with the prices!!
Also, almost anything on their menu can be requested vegetarian. I assume this excludes appetizers, which are usually pre-made.
Thai Aroma is one of the best carryout Thai places around. The Panang Curry rocks, and I'm not even that big of a curry fan. They sure can turn up the heat, too, if you like that sort of thing. I really like the dipping sauce for their pot stickers and crab rangoon. I could order from this place multiple times a week and never get tired.
The price is reasonable and the best part is that you can order online through Grub Hub and they have good coupons.
Plus, you can BYOB if you want to dine in!
A weekly staple in the world of KB. Aside from my standard takeout panang tofu with broccoli, TA is also great for feeding a group.
Try the stuffed chicken wings or the duck with egg noodles. I can't figure out what the sauce is.. it barely coats the egg noodles and is so delicate but very strong and sweet.
Affordable and BYOB. All good in the hood.
we have got takeout from here a few times and one thing springs to mind.
BROWN RICE.
yes they have it. nobody else does. as if it is hard to make. the food was good too. take a good glance at the menu and you will be surprised of the variety. the jungle curry(without coconut milk) is something you dont find everywhere. they also have quite a variety of soups and salads. i think we have to dine in soon.
Dependable. Cheap. Nearby.
This Thai place is not really good and not really bad but I do LOVE their lunch special. From 11-3 every day you can get an appetizer, soup, and lunch sized entrée for $5.99. I usually get the Spicy Basil but I heard several people order Cashew Chicken so I think I'll try that next time.
BYOB!
I'm adding Thai Aroma to my list of good places to eat by myself.
My go-to takeout option. Now we've moved north, and I'll have to come back and visit. I've taken everyone I know here at least once.
I always get the panang curry with chicken, at spice level 2. Levels range from 1-6, with 1 being fairly mild. 2 is plenty enough for me! Egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoon, jeeb- everything I've had, appetizer-wise, is excellent. They have sesame chicken, which is notably a sort of stacked concoction involving vegetables and peanut sauce, that my boyfriend refers to as "chicken pinwheels". He keeps ordering it, though, so it must be good!
Delivery and waiter-service are both good.
Edit: I had to bump it to five stars. We've had such a long and loving relationship. You knew they would redeem themselves, having the best Thai delivery on da norf side. However, the green curry has too much coconut milk and not enough curry. Nobody wants to be that vegan that died of heart disease.
Original review: My love for Thai Aroma knew no bounds. 3 years ago, I would have tried to kiss the cooks. Every dish was hot (in both important senses), flavorful, and loaded with vegetables cooked to the ideal tender-crisp ratio.
Recently, there are still lots of quality vegetables in my dish, but it did not arrive hot. I didn't recognize the delivery driver. Something was different. Wait- what is that smell? Holy mackerel, the whole stairwell reeks of fish sauce!
This happened despite multiple assurances that it would be left off. More importantly, this didn't happen in the past. I'm not one to make two expensive mistakes, and so my tears are bitter (though not fishy). I miss it so bad.
Still, Thai Aroma has some dishes that are not made with fish sauce and are delightful, namely the green curry with noodles and cashew tofu. Red curry (with or without coconut milk) ain't bad either.
If you can get them to make Thai vegetable fried rice without fish sauce, you would be cruel not to save me a bite.
OK, I love the name. "Thai Aroma"? Why not call a burger joint "American Smells"?
But the pad thai is among the best I've had in Chicago. Now, keep in mind, this is a measure of taste, since everyone has different ideals about pad thai. TA makes it exactly how I like it: slightly more peanuty taste, more eggs, generally all around more flavor. Damn good.
The crab rangoon was great and the spring rolls were incredible! I can't wait to try lots more. Good atmosphere, nice service, and BYOB, FTW.
I am not a lover of all things Thai. But there are some things I will eat at a Thai restaurant and crab rangoon is one of them. I was very disappointed with the crab rangoon here. It was bland and also their serving size was very small. I ordered the appetizer and expected to have enough to share with the table and we ended up having to get two portions.
It seems that I am on a quest to find all the good crab rangoon places in the city. But it seems to me this place just didn't cut it.
Also my lunch companions where less than impressed with their lunch options. They have a nice lunch menu where you get an egg roll or crab rangoon, soup and your dish for cheap (I think around $5.00) but they said they would have rather paid a little bit more for better food.
Oh well you live and you learn.
This is our neighborhood thai place.
Food: Fantastic if you know how to order. Noodle dishes are great, particularly the flat noodle ones - pad se ew is my personal favorite. I've had this dozens of times and I really have to try hard not to get it every time. For this dish you can pick you choice of meat or tofu. Stay away from the "spring rolls" they are like vietnamese ones but with more unusual things in them. The "egg rolls" are good - they're actually spring rolls. Spicy chicken basil and lemon grass chicken are also extremely good, if you want a gravy and rice item. Satay is good, but i feel that it's pretty hard to mess that up.
Value: amazing value, a dinner for $7 or less? can't beat it
Good food for a good price. I like the chicken pad thai, medium spicy. Delivery time is usually accurate. Portions are pretty big.
I tried this place out today for lunch. It was just so beautiful out that I decided to walk home from class, and there was Thai Aroma in my way, beckoning me to finally try it. I've read a lot of good reviews!
The place was totally empty at the time I went in, maybe one o'clock, but I imagine it's busier at dinnertime since it's situated in a heavily residential neighborhood. No bother, the tables and chairs looked nice and everything about the place seemed a lot cozier than it appears on the outside. In fact the outside is just dreadful, as it's part of a mini strip mall of sorts, and also adjacent to an abandoned fast food chain and its empty parking lot.
I went for the lunch special, so for all reading this know that I didn't get the full dinner experience. I asked the waitress which she preferred, the fried rice or the pad thai. Of course she picked the pad thai, but secretly I love Thai fried rice, so I was hoping she would say that. But in any case I got the pad thai.
I ordered it with tofu and it came out with chicken in it. Since I'm not a vegetarian, I didn't mention it because I didn't want them to waste the food, but I have to give the waitress a slight knock down for being so mentally lazy that with me being the only customer in the restaurant she could still forget what I had ordered.
Anyway, the pad thai was good, but not wowing. I prefer it down at Jitlada on Halsted with the rice noodles. It's less greasy there. They did bring a nice bowl of chicken soup and an egg roll accompanying the lunch special, all for $6, which was pretty sweet.
I'm definitely going to go back and check out more of the menu here as it was overall tasty and in the hood.
I love this place. Until a few months ago I lived around the corner, and I sincerely regret moving away. I still go there on occasion for the excellent Red Curry. I also greatly enjoy the Pad See Eiuw, the Panang Curry, and the Rama Chicken. For appetizers, the Tom Yum soup is pretty good (although not as tasty as Thai Sookdee in Evanston), and the Khanom Jeeb is pretty good (although not as tasty as Cozy Noodles in Evanston).
The service is fantastic. The prices are inexpensive and the food is wonderful. The atmosphere is great for a quiet date.
BYOB baby! Well that's not a good reason to like a food place, but it sure makes it nicer when you can afford to drink up! Thai Aroma is priced well and serves decent portions - not too much yet enough for my 6'1" boyfriend.
The fact I LOVE about this tiny Thai restaurant, is the level of spiciness changes according to your individual preference. I love SPICY and HOT whereas my bf calls his stomach 'continental'. We are both assured the right amount of pepper which makes out tongues singe. They have a decent range from level 1 to 6,the latter by the way is described as "we won't give you money back"! HOTness
I would recommend the Spicy Basil and Green curry. You can ask you waitress to make it vegetarian or your pick of meat - chicken, beef or shrimp. I haven't tried any of their desserts yet but I do recommend the starters and the Tom Kha soup.
Another neighborhood favorite of mine: Inexpensive, quick, and clean.
I can't say this is the absolute best Thai food I've had, but given the proximity and price range, this is a good pick.
The Baby Eggrolls [fried] are a good choice for appetizer. Another alternative on the healthier side are the Spring Rolls [minus the cream cheese, although that is the best part], Pad See Ew and Panang Noodles are great.
The rice dishes are mediocre as the noodle ones are a bit more authentic.
Thai Aroma is a nice Thai place in a dumpy little strip mall on Broadway near Buena. The food is very good and inexpensive. Their lunch special comes with soup and an appetizer.
Today for lunch I had the spicy basil chicken with spring roll and soup. Just remember they do authentic Thai spiciness. I ordered a 5 of 6 in spiciness today and it was HOT, HOT, HOT! I love it, but most people I know wouldn't have been able to eat it!
The only thing that didn't impress me about the meal was the soup. The broth tasted like Campbells Chicken & Noodles. However, the spinach was VERY fresh, there were a LOT of small chicken pieces and a lot of carrots as well as some glass noodles in it. I added some red pepper sauce to it & it was yummy after that! :-)
They just got in some new ice creams. I had the Lychee! OMG it was WONDERFUL! Pieces of Lychee frozen right in there. Singing, "I'm in heaven, I'm in heaven..."
I LOVE thai food but this was the worst thai i have had in the city. The delivery was quick but the food had no taste and they forgot half of my order. Would not order from Thai Aroma again
: (
Eh. I liked my pad thai but the tofu went from room temperature to cold within 10 minutes. This was a problem because there was a ten minute gap between two people in my party getting their food and the other two getting theirs. (Restaurant was empty except for one other table.)
Also I asked for lemon and they gave me lime, which I didn't really care about since I like both until I saw on the bill that they charged me $1 extra for small lime slice!!
On the upside everyone seemed to like their food, I loved the thai iced tea and their spicy food is actually super spicy.
It started out great, with some of the best tom kha I've ever had. Lots of lemongrass and the coconut base was the perfect consistency. To me, that soup is the best thing in Thai cuisine, so I might return to Thai Aroma for that alone. Everything else was a letdown. The crab rangoon was mediocre. My spicy peanut chicken entree was not the least bit spicy, and the chicken was tough. My bf had some beef noodle entree. He complained that the beef was very dry, but he ate it all, which is more than I can say about my entree. The biggest problem was that everything but the soup arrived room temperature.
Soup was good. Sauces were flavorful. Meats were tough. Food temps were unappetizing. There are much better Thai restaurants within a few blocks of Thai Aroma.
I wouldn't necessarily seek this place out, but it does have the best lunch special I've encountered in the area. Soup, a starter, and a main course...all for a very reasonable price. The food isn't as spicy as I'd like, but the service is very good and everything's fresh. If I lived nearby I'd probably be able to comment more thoroughly on the restaurant, since I'm sure I'd order from there frequently, but I've never been disappointed by what I've eaten.
This is the local Thai Restaurant of choice in the Buena Park neighborhood. I used to live quite close to this place and enjoyed it every single time I visited. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the dishes are dependable and the service is friendly and sincere.
And there's rarely a wait for a table.
I love you, Thai Aroma!
No other place will fill the Thai-shaped hole in my tummy. It is reserved just for Thai Aroma. (unless I am at the bf's place, then it is all about Joy's.) I love the Green Curry, the fucking Panang Noodle rocks (I love that the noodles aren't crispy), and the Tom Kha soup. mmmm the Potstickers.
The delivery guy calls me "buddy," too. Whee!
An excellent choice for Thai delivery food and they've been my standard for years (their menu was the only thing left in my condo when I moved in. Maybe a gift, maybe an omen). I've ordered from them so many times that the delivery guy somewhat creeps me out because he now calls me his buddy and tells me how much "his woman gets his nerve and spends all his money." Which I assume is a bad thing.
One reason I love Thai Aroma is because they don't hold back on the spice when it's asked for. They have a number system. Now, unlike most people I know, I love my food to be so insanely spicy that stray droplets could ignite a tablecloth. Eyebrow searing would be another way of saying it. The nubmer 6 spice at Thai Aroma fits that bill and thus I am in love.
The tom yum and tom kha soups are excellent. I normally go for the spicy basil or the chili chicken. Crab rangoons are just ok, dumplings aren't anything to write home about (but I can tell you guys about it).
I've never actually been to the establishment itself -- and I don't want to. It could ruin the mystique that is Thai Aroma for me.
I've been here a couple of times now. The sauces are terrific. Nice selection of foods. Great appetizers. Can definitely do spicy. My only gripe is that their chicken is a bit tough.
All in all though, very well done.
