Well, we actually had a pretty crappy time.  There was a long wait for a table with folks getting sat before us.  Then there was the even longer wait for our food.  However management was so on top of the situation, that they eat the check and gave us a gift certificate for another night on them.  Did I mention the Brownie sundae?

    Great recovery!

We will not ever return to this place to eat! Sooo, are last experiance at this place was not a pleasant experiance obviously.  We got to the peanut invested floor and were seated to our table. We recieved are salad with a piece of hair in it...the beer had a bug in it....not once but twice!!!   As I looked around and glanced in the kitchen it looked like a bunch of teenagers running the joint.  It was not a good experiance.  The food was not that great, and once I found the hair in my salad my stomach turned.  The bug in the beer 2x pushed us over the edge.  Maybe it was a bad night for them or they were short on staff, I don't know?? But all I know is that place is to loud and unclean for me! Experiance yourself and be the judge, but be alert as you eat. Good Luck!

This is a great place to have dinner.  The  dress is very casual and the steaks are very good,  Upon entering you are asked if you wish to pick your steak out that you want cooked. When being brought to your table the hostess is bringing sweet rolls and sweet butter, no place else have I ever tasted butter like that.  I had the 11 oz. sirloin steak that was cooked to perfection, mashed potatoes, and baked beans.  The baked beans had a smoked hickory taste to them. The dessert was apple pie a'la mode. We had a waitress name Amy who could not have been nicer or more attentive.  She made a great meal even better. My dining partner had the same  meal with different sides  which was also very good.  The dessert was shared.

Went here last night for dinner. Both our steaks were fatty, quality seemed to have gone downhill quite a bit. Server  Forgot my sides, messed up drink order, and we waited a long time to get our food. Tough when you have a young child with you. The only filet mignon option on the menu now is fatty "filet" medallions. We were pleasantly surprised when we didn't have to wait for our table, but maybe more people are also thinking the food isn't so great anymore. It was pretty slow.

Pretty good for a chain.  Prices are okay, service is usually pretty quick.  Nothing that will blow your socks off but a good value for the money.

If you're going to go to a chain, might as well make it a successful one - don't try and get in on a busy Friday or Saturday though.

Finishing up a fine meal not consumed too long ago, I feel its time I review Texas Roadhouse.

I've been to this certain restaurant (and quite a few others) over the course of time and this is probably my favorite location. There is call-ahead seating for people wondering (which I recommend using-especially if you have a large party.) And for the people who don't get call ahead seating, well, be prepared for a decent wait (about an hour on fridays) But don't worry, you get unlimited peanuts.

The food quality is consistent. I've really never had a bad meal here. If you can get past the well-worthed wait your in for a good time. Tonight I tried the ribs and they were very tasty. I also had two glasses of their iced tea which was also yummy. Some items can be a bit pricey, like the filets and different fishes, but other than that they have a menu for all different price ranges and appetites.

Overall, definitely worth a shot if your in the area.

So I had been here before and had a craving for the rolls and the yummy cinnamon butter... so my sister and I made the trip up in anticipation of a fantastic late dinner.

First off, we get there and the restaurant is pretty empty... we ask for a booth and without getting asked if we wanted to sit in the bar area (where are a bunch of drunks were standing around shouting and watching the sox game) we were seated in the middle of everyone. Strike 1.

Strike 2. The hostess stand was a few feet away from us, and the girl working the door in her blonde pigtails and hat was so obnoxiously loud in my ear that before we even ordered, I was already contemplating getting my meal to go.

Ok I get it, it's a Tuesday night and things are sort of slow at 9pm, but that doesn't mean you should be 1) hanging out with your friends around the front of the restaurant 2) screaming and running around and goofing off while people are sitting 2 feet away from you trying to eat. 3) acting unprofessional. Slow or not, you are still at work. Act accordingly please.

At one point a gentleman at the bars says "My gosh that is the loudest person I have ever heard" to which my sister and I chimed in unison "I KNOW!" He then says something to her to give her the hint that she is being too loud, and in return she smart mouth's him back and continues running around yelling in everyone's ears. Lady, the music isn't even playing... take it down a notch or six!

Strike 3. At one point we watch the kitchen tell our runner that the food is ready and he blatantly ignores them for a good 5 minutes to talk to his friends before acknowledging them.

Our waitress was a doll. Absolutely, without a doubt. I left her a great tip and a lovely note explaining why I would never return because of the loud hostess. It made for a very unpleasant dining experience. And also for a pounding headache later.

If I wasn't in such a hurry to get out of there to save my mood for the rest of the evening, I would have mentioned it to the manager, but honestly... I couldn't get out the front door and into the quiet comforts of the car fast enough.

    Terribly disappointed.

But on the upside, the grilled bqq chicken and loaded baked potato was delish.

Warm rolls with sweet cinn-a-butter= not that great.
Peanut shells on the floor + part of the charm.
Cute waiters and mobile birthday saddles=cool
The ribs are actually very good.
Blue Moon Beer in big frosty glasses.
Pulled pork is kind of fatty. Needs more sauce.

Imagine Coyote Ugly... but the girls aren't scantilly clad, and they're eye-to-eye level on a peanut shell covered floor rather than arse-to-eye level on a bar... The Devil Went Down to Georgia playing on the JukeBox, and the waitresses line dance down the aisles in unison.  Pretty cool, but a fire hazard I'm sure.

Texas Roadhouse, despite the blaring loud country music, has a good (not awesome, not bad... just good) atmosphere... although the 8 foot tall painting of a Native American's face at the front of the restaurant lends itself to feelings of confusion and irony... Texas Roadhouse invokes feelings of "cowboy"... cowboys vs. indians... yet there's this homage to an indian... strange to say the least.

The servers were all friendly, and the food was just incredible.  I got the country fried chicken, and it was smothered in this delicious creamy white gravy.  Completely awesome.

I would definately go back... I mean, after all... who doesn't get a kick out of throwing peanut shells all over the floor?

Okay lets just say that the Ribs here beat all other rib places around, forget Chili's. 99's and any other place around. My wife and I love it here cause out 14 month old twins can make a mess. With all of the peanut sheels on the ground no one even looks.. Also got to love the rolls with the cinnamin butter spread  yum... I would stick with purely BBQ here as my wife ordered salmon once and it was not that good...

Enjoy... OH yeah call ahead for call ahead seating it will save you 1/2 - 1 hours of waiting... hey at least you can fill up on peanuts if you have to wait.. Bar is a little small considering the huge lines that they get..

I went to Texas Roadhouse for the first time recently and boy was it interesting.  First, it is worth mentioning that I am a healthy eater and when I go out to dinner I usually have grilled fish or something, so I fully understand that this place was not  meant for people like me.

However, I went with my husband's fam just to be a good sport.  I was worried because I had heard rumors that the breadbaskets have over a day's worth of calories and that people throw peanut shells on the floor.  When we walked in, the atmosphere was as expected.  A typical chain restaurant setup, it is dark in there and doesn't feel entirely that clean.  The booths were huge..which I later found out is for a reason.  Most of the other people eating there were ENORMOUS.  One table, I swear to God they all weighed 300+lbs and there were six of them.

Anyway, back to the food.   The bread came, and it looked delicious, almost glazed in something, but I didn't try it.  Everyone else was going bananas over it though.  I munched on some of the peanuts, and happily they provide a bucket for the shells so you don't throw them on the ground.  I got the healthiest thing I could possibly find on the menu, which was a chopped salad with grilled chicken and hardboiled egg.  I believe it came with bacon and cheese and I asked them to leave that out.  The dressing, which I got on the side, was actually quite good and the salad was fresh and tasty.  The chicken was nice and warm and seasoned just enough.  I couldn't believe how good it was.

My nephew got a kids meal with two little burgers and fries and he seemed to enjoy that.  The kids menu didn't have many healthy options but for once and a while I think it was fine for kids.  My husband and his Mom got ribs, which they thought were very good.  It came with two sides, and they got fries and mashed potatoes and veggies, all of which looked pretty good.  Nobody got dessert.

In sum, if you can keep your food down around  some of the biggest people you'll ever see,  this place is ok.  Almost everything on the menu is unhealthy, but it wasn't impossible to make a decent choice either.  The waitstaff was very nice and attentive also.

I do not think I would go back here by choice just because there isn't enough for me to eat, but if you like ribs and fried stuff this place is a sure bet.

Matthew A and I are going to have to agree to disagree on those rolls.  OMG they are SOOOOOOO good.  In fact, every one of us had to stop ourselves to save room for the actual meal.

    It is packed.  Always.

I like the country music and the line dancing is free entertainment.  I can only complain so much.  Well, maybe they could turn the volume down A BIT...

The BF and I had steak and our friends had burgers.  Everyone was overstuffed and seriously content.

There is a bar and tvs for game watching.  I toss my peanut shells on the floor because I can.

It is a chain and everyone working there is half my age now, but the food is damn good, reasonably priced and ohhhhh, the rolls.

Okay let's get it out first that I do not eat red meat, yet I love this place.

How? Well they have a great atmosphere, which at first glance is cramped and a bit homely but when you get into the restaurant and meet the staff they are amazing as is the food.

The peanut buckets and warm bread make for enough food and fun to start. Who doesn't like throwing peanut shells on the floor? I mean seriously. And CINNABUTTER! YUMMO!

The shrimp dish is amazing, the mashed potatoes are to die for, the loaded fries are a meal in itself, the fried catfish was such a nice surprise---both sweet and salty and cooked just right.

Portions? Well the kids' mac and cheese was a giant bowl, everything could easily feed at least two people with no problem. Somehow my husband can polish off a full rack of ribs and still eat a ton of the bread.

The drinks? O so good. I recommend the Cowgirl Quencher.

And take advantage of the Call Ahead Seating. A lifesaver!

One of my favorite restaurants.  The bread tastes like fried dough w/ cinnamon butter.  Food is very consistent but as most restaurants these days, they can't cook steak if their lives depended on it.  I like medium rare, but I always order medium but it always comes medium rare and sometimes rare.  I have found ordering medium here is the only way to get my steak like I want it, at least some of the time, but I find this almost everywhere.

The prime rib here is by far the best around, and probably the best I have ever had.  Ribs are excellent, but I find it hard to turn down the prime rib to have them again.  Everything is a bit salty, and if you ask no salt on anything you miss out on all the other spices (like on the fries).

The place is very loud with the music, a lot of people find this annoying, I don't mind so much but don't plan on doing a lot of talking while you are here as it can be hard to understand each other at times.

My three year old son loves this place and my 10 year old nephew loves this place.  You definitely want to call ahead at this place, a 30 - 60 minute wait is typical.

Prices are really good, you get a meal w/ two sides for $8-$15 and end up with a lot of food.

Oh and their Italian "house" dressing is amazing.

It is hard to resist the honey-cinnamon whipped butter and warm rolls that are served immediately as you are seated.  Don't get filled up on them though because you'll want to save room for your entre.  Although famous for their steaks and ribs, this chain restaurant offers up a pretty tasty fried catfish.  Not greasy and cooked to a perfect crisp, the lightly breaded catfish hit the spot.  Served with a choice of two sides, you'll be sure to satisfy your hunger.  Side options include house/Caesar salad, cup of chili, mashed/baked potatoes, seasoned rice, steak fries, veggies, and baked beans.  The cup of chili had a kick to it which I liked, but it was all beans.  (not a bean lover!)

The atmosphere is a bit corny and very loud.  Peanut shells cover the floor.  The wait staff consists of mostly teenagers.  Jennifer was friendly and attentive.  She checked on us and brought refills.  If you're "lucky", you'll catch a dance performance by the waitresses.  Also, don't get alarmed if you hear a bunch of Yee-ha's because that signals someone's birthday.

Be sure to call ahead or be prepared to wait even on weeknights.  This place is always busy.

Meh. They do a lot of things, none of them are really excellent.

As soon as you walk in, you are able to pick your cut of meat. It looks good, but the quality does not translate. The meat is below average.

The appetizers are all grease/cheese/gravy loaded calorie nightmares.

The beers are cold, so it is a nice place to relax with friends. Just dont expect high quality food. A chain is a chain, they do what they do best.....serve a lot of people, a lot of food for cheaper prices and cheaper quality.

Went here for dinner the other night with my company.  It was A-OK, but nothing too special.  The steak was quite good, but nothing else really stood out.  The sides were mediocre and not particularly tasty, the Blue Moon I had on tap wasn't very fresh, and the atmosphere was loud and noisy.  I was surprised that the restaurant was packed on a random Thursday night and the parking lot was full to the brim.  It was decent but I don't know that I would come here again unless I was craving a steak.  I did like the fact they had a case of fresh cut steak specials to offer some variety from the standard ones they had on the menu so that you could pick out your own steak.  Cool idea.

Don't come here if you've got a peanut allergy because there are peanuts and peanut shells littering the entire restaurant.  I am not joking when I say they are everywhere and there's a good chance that someone with a nut allergy could die before even being seated..  It's a fun idea to offer peanuts but after being there for 5 minutes I started getting shells stuck in my shoes and it became more of an annoyance than anything.

Last thought: You might want to skip this place if you hate country music, it's pretty much all they play.

The food is fantastic and the service is pretty good. The atmosphere is loud, rowdy, and the waitstaff will line-dance whenever an appropriate line-dancing song comes up. The food is priced relatively cheaply for a steakhouse as well. If you bring someone for their birthday, they'll be in for a surprise with the saddle . . .

It's peanut country when you first walk in (there's a sign on the door that warns people with peanut allergies to stay away), with barrels of peanuts in the waiting area and peanut buckets on the tables. You can throw your shells on the ground (and that's what the waitstaff does when your peanut bucket gets full of shells).

One warning - save room for your meal because those warm rolls with cinnabutter are incredibly filling. I recommend the ribs, 10oz steak (or 32 oz if you're daring), and fried chicken. You usually can get an appetizer with your entree (garden salad with thousand island dressing is SO good) and two sides as well (chili and fries are great). They've got a bar and TVs showing whatever sports game is on, too, for all the sports junkies.

Amusing side note - the bathroom is labeled "Outhouse."

    I agree with Jeffrey H. - yeehaw!

I would give this place a 7 out of 10.

Good food for the most part. The chicken fritters, or whatever they're called, the chicken finger like things, they're really really greasy and they leave a long lasting after taste. If you get them, share them, as I did just the other night. Their steak is delicious, and the sides, for the most part, are great. I love mashed potatoes, but theirs has way to much sour cream incorporated into it. I ordered it twice before, hoping the first time was a mistake with how much sour cream they used, but that's just how it's served. Other than that, it's a good place.

Service can range, but for the most part it's accommodating. This place has a manager who walks around and asks if everything is ok, which is great.

The only problem I had was one of the other servers brought our food out and immediately just dropped it on the table before I could mutter a word when I was in need of a refill. Eating a steak, and other salty foods, requires a drink....but our actual server redeemed that situation by bringing up another round about 6 minutes after, which did seem like a while, but to her credit, it was packed.

    Again, it's a 7 out of 10.

I was ashamed of the Serves here. That put me at a bad table. And then they spill drinks on me.   And the (fall of the bone ribs) where not good at all. They tasted like they wernted cooked all the way. They were not falling off. You hade to rip them off.

And they had a star on them.  They don't deserve that star.

Place has a feeling like no other compared to the other restaurants around the area. Let you pick out your own steak, sit you down and hand you amazing warm bread with cinnamon butter. Not a huge menu but always can find something you would like. Always have your option of eating peanuts but have found too many may spoil your appetite. Service is okay and never takes too long.

The food is definitely five stars (it's a steakhouse, so get the steak!).  Service is good, but they get pretty busy.  Be sure not to take anyone here with a peanut allergy, they'll die while crossing the threshold... there are peanuts and shells everywhere and the air is full of peanut dust!  It's super noisy, and they for some reason turn the music up louder when it's noisier.  My biggest complaint is the country line dancing number they do... could they at least LOOK like they're enjoying it, for the sake of the excited little kids in the restaurant who come running over to watch?  Blech... I'd rather sit where I can't see the uncomfortable chain gang dance.

Definitely high on our list of good places to eat!

The food is reliably good and sometimes great, including the rolls with cinnamon butter, which are gorge-worthy. My 8 year old son is pretty fussy and he's never had a complaint about the food. We've never had anything but good-to-excellent service.

That said, it's not a place that allows for much conversation, because the music can be VERY loud depending on where you're seated. Personally, I find the peanut shells on the floor tiresome and gimmicky (in a not-good way) but I know plenty of people like the casual, relaxed atmosphere. But we've found that the quality of the food and service makes it worth it.

Food is basic American stuff. Always loud and peanuts everywhere. If you want a steak, ribs or burger this is the go to place in Methuen/Salem area. No frills and prices are reasonable.

We went here for the first time recently and given all the so-so reviews on Yelp I ended up pleasantly surprised. They asked us as soon as we walked in if it was our first time and when we said yes, the hostess very enthusiastically explained all about the rolls, cinnabutter, ribs and how we could choose our own steak. Later on, upon hearing that it was our first time the manager came by to welcome us and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer on our next visit.

Overall, we had a very good experience. A lot of times you expect food at a chain restaurant to be average but I thought the food here was pretty good. It was fresh, tasty and well-cooked. Service was great too. Our waitress took time to explain the menu and was very accomodating with our requests. We ordered the fried blossom (a large onion cut up and fried) for an appetizer, Dallas filet (a regular filet mignon) and rib-eye steak with a sidekick (side order) of ribs. They are known for the ribs which I thought were good but not as tender as I expected. For dessert, we had the brownie with vanilla ice cream. The brownie tasted more like a warm chocolate cake but otherwise was fine.

Oh, for what it's worth, the rolls were OK - not OMG I'm dying I've got to have more smothered with cinnabutter kind of thing though. I had a few bites with the cinnabutter and that was enough. I could see if you are a carb lover then maybe you'd go nuts. My husband thought the cinnabutter with the rolls was reminiscent of a Cinnabon but I don't agree. There's no ooey, gooey, buttery goodness that comes with a Cinnabon.

I thought it was going to be a huge mess with the peanuts all over but our table didn't even have a bucket of peanuts and there were no shelled peanuts on the floor in our vicinity. It was also fairly early (6 pm) when we were there so maybe there wasn't enough traffic yet to create all those peanut shells and dust on the floor.

The value for the quality and quantity of food was pretty good. Our dinner including the blossom, filet, rib-eye, half rack of ribs, two kids meals, a margarita and brownie cost $70 including tax. We'll come back if in the area.

Great food, yummy rolls/butter, but the best thing are the $8 early bird specials... I was worried when we tried them that they would be small portions but they are full sized portions (I got 2 meals out of mine).  Recommend the pulled pork and the chicken tenders.

One of my favorite restaurants, the bread and butter is to die for. The only time I wouldn't come here is with a large group, the booths are not accommodating.

Awesome place to take someone for their birthday, make sure to tell the server.

This is a cool place to have dinner near the NH/MA state line. I try to get here before it gets too crazy busy. Before getting seated, you can pick out the steak you want cooked for your dinner (optional). I love the complementary warm sweet rolls and sweet butter. Beware of the peanut dust and shells all over the place and floor. You can shell peanuts (from the silver bucket) and push the peanut shells onto the floor. My favorite dinner is the Country Fried Sirloin with white gravy and my favorite sides are the Texas chili with cheese and onions, mashed potatoes (with brown gravy), and house salad (with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, egg) with bleu cheese dressing. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere here is fun. Every so often, servers will line dance together to various country songs (ie. Cotton Eyed Joe). When someone has a birthday, everyone in the restaurant will be asked to give a big YEE-HAH!!! I've seen the birthday person ride a fake "bull" as well. If I still have room for dessert, I order the Big Ol' Brownie (more like a fresh baked chocolate cake), which is drenched in chocolate and served with vanilla ice cream.

This place is UNBELIEVABLE!!! It is a steakhouse- indeed not a Capital or a Ruth's Chris, but the steak is just as damn good!! The setting: think Rodeo/Wild West. There are peanuts everywhere!! (If you are allergic I highly do not suggest going here!!)  The rolls are more delicious than ANY PLACE I have EVER been to!! They offer a cinnamon/sugar dip... totally unbelievable ** Suggestions: For a healthier meal, try the Salmon (only 12$), vegetables, and especially the sweet potato! Oh and BTW-- they do an awesome show for Birthdays--- will put you on a horse (fake) and sing to you! YEEEE-HAW!!  ((Can you tell how excited I am??))
