To be honest, I wasn't really expecting much of a good meal out of this place when we went in, but it was more about my family's choice than mine.  However, my tune quickly changed when we walked in and our hostess grabbed a couple of baskets of fresh bread with cinnamon butter.  Now, I've had my fair share of regular whipped buttercream goodness at other steakhouses before, but cinnamon butter?  This was definitely intriguing.

There were five of us so we were sat in a large booth that was a little cramped for me (I have long arms as does my Dad, who was sitting next to me) so I was attempting not to elbow my parents throughout the meal.  I really wasn't in the mood for beef (I know, it's shocking!) so I ordered the Grilled BBQ Chicken with double fresh veggies (steamed broccoli and carrots with butter--I could have done without the butter).  The chicken was moist, tender and absolutely delicious.  I'm a big veggie fan too but I don't like them to be swimming in butter.  So, if you ask for the veggies and don't want the butter, you better pipe up while the waiter is there.

We went there on a Saturday evening and they were really busy so our food took longer than usual to come out.  However, I'd like to say it was worth the wait.  I'd definitely give them another shot without a second thought.

I'm kinda like another guy on here (that'd be Chris S.) who took ma here for Mother's Day. I don't have but 2 words... well dang. Food was pretty good for the price.

We get there and I see a lot (and I mean A LOOOOOOOOOOT) of people waiting to be seated. I ask how long a wait for 3 would be. The hostess says 10 minutes. In closer to 5 minutes we're shown to a booth. The booth was uncomfortable so the waiter gets the manager and she gets us a table with no problems at all. The new waiter was friendly and knew his presentation spiel and all that good stuff.

I got the Road Kill, which is essentially a hamburger patty smothered in mushrooms, onions and jack cheese. It came with 2 sides so I chose the sweet potato and a bowl of chili. The chili came out first and lemme tell you when I say I'm sold I am S-O-L-D!!! Some of the best daggone chili I've ever had. Meaty. Decent amount of beans. Not soupy. Just good friggin chili!! The Road Kill, itself, was off the chain and something I could see myself getting on a regular basis.

My intention is to stop by again and try somethin else. Never thought I'd be a true fan of a chain spot like this. Only complaint is the peanuts and this is just out of concern for those who have peanut allergies. Otherwise... I'll be back there again.

Well Yee-Freakin'-Haawwww!!!!
I recently visited a "Texas Roadhouse" for the first time this past weekend on Mother's Day (great choice for Mom, huh?) lol., at the location out in Katy, Texas.  First and foremost--THE ROLLS.

Let me give you a quick explanation of how these rolls were:
I wanted to jump into a large pool of these rolls naked and just eat my way out. Seriously. Best rolls I've had maybe at ANY restaurant. I'd give this place 4 stars alone just for that! Cinnamon in the butter, warm, tasty. It was like an instant foodgasm in my mouth. "Party in my Mouth and everyone's invited!!!"   ....okay, maybe that's a bit far....

As for the rest of this joint:
I had the Chicken Fried Chicken. Delicious, large, great gravy. Mashed potatoes were average. Had a bite or two of my sister's steak--well cooked, not SUPER flavorful, but pretty damn delicious for the price.

Service:
Despite the fact that everyone working in there was probably a Junior in High School, they did a pretty decent job. Our waiter was a little too cocky and "over-the-top" trying to be the "cool guy waiter" and "funny." *Note: Everything is in quotations because he was none of these things.
He did, however, do a pretty good job with the service. He just needs to learn to shut his mouth and bring the food. If I wanted entertainment from a waiter I'd go to Dicks.

Peanuts on the floor:
I see WHY they do it... but though i've grown up in Texas it's just not my thing. Guess I'll have to remember to wear my old shit-kickers next time I swing by to visit. Not a real big fan of gettin' the Nike's dirty.   ....and thank the lord I wasn't wearing flip-flops. Peanut under the foot? No thanks. I'll pass.

All in all--the food was delicious and the experience was memorable. And if you go--there is only one rule: (this is straight from the mouth of my 50-year-old father) "If they ask you if you want more rolls, you say YES. No matter whether you're stuffed and can't move, you say YES. YES NO MATTER WHAT!"  lol.

On the road to delicious, roll-town this is your one and only stop. Yum.

They lost a star for not being open for lunch :(
But the food's great, I love the ribs and the bites of steak I've sneaked off my family's plates. The grilled chicken is really tender if you're wanting something slightly less artery clogging.
Mmmmm the bread and cinnamon butter that comes before the meal...mmmmm! ok, stop drooling!

Peanuts on the floor, yeast rolls and a steak.  What could be more Texas than that?

Texas Roadhouse offers Texas sized portions of food at a fair price.  You can even get a buttery sweet potato as a side - delicious with a little brown sugar.

In addition to the buckets of peanuts at every table (and peanut shells covering every inch of the floor), you'll get baskets of yummy bread delivered to your table throughout the meal.

Start off with Rattlesnake Bites (jalapenos and cheese fried up and served with horseradish sauce), then get your salad with made from scratch dressing.

Any of the steaks are worth a shot but I hear their ribs are among the best.  My husband prefers the country fried steak.

Even if you're not into the meat aspect of the restaurant, they offer a country veggie plate that has enough filling southern vegetables to keep anyone satisfied.

Of course, they'll ask if you've saved room for dessert - if you have, I would suggest Granny's Apple Classic.  That's good eatin'.

Our server was friendly, we were seated quickly, and the food arrived fast. Beyond that, I was disappointed. To begin with, the iced tea was weak. Then, my medium rare steak turned out as medium well.  When I pointed it out to the server, she took it back and was apologetic. Once it was ready, the manager delivered my entree to the table. Alas, I was disappointed in how it tasted. My baked potato also wasn't very good.
