MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT OF ALL TIMES.
there are peanuts all over the floor, the place looks a bit dirty, but who cares? the steak is soooo good. my favorite is definitely the dallas fillet, and then the new york strip. i know how to eat, and this place definitely satisfies my cravings. from the salad, to the steak, to the cheese fries and of course who could forget THE AMAZING BREAD. everytime i go here i swear i gain ten pounds, but it is all worth it.

Although there are a lot of reviews about how nasty the place is, what do u expect? you're eating out. no restaurant you eat in is 100 percent clean. trust me i know, i worked in plenty myself.

too bad there are only two texas roadhouse restaurants in MA, but i am willing to troop from brighton all the way to everett just to have my perfect steak. yummy in my tummy

Peanut shells coat the floor, as you walk in they have a deli case with a few cuts of meat, a partially visible kitchen and a massive hostess station.
There can be epic wait times, but they give you those buzzer things, there are peanuts to fill up on, and there is a decent amount of space to sit and wait (outside and in).

They give you sweet warm rolls and cinnamon butter to start, which are tasty. Your waitress may be from Meffa... But don't stop there! Get a steak, a Sam Adams, and bring about 6 of your closest friends. They'll fit you all in there.

I don't care what any one else says ... I really like this place. The decor gives me a little giggle everytime I enter (I mean, come on, it looks like the inside of a barn)...and I think it's fun that peanut shells litter the floor and no one blinks an eye if you throw a few down yourself.

Sure, I've had better steak...better chicken elsewhere...but no where...and I mean, no where...has better rolls and cinnamon honey-butter. Whatever the heck is in that butter is highly addictive and I could just go in for a bread basket and leave happy. Everything else is your standard chain restaurant quality. Hey, it's affordable and it's fun if you're looking for some cheap eats of decent quality.

A group of us went here to kick off my brother in law's bachelor party and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.  It was the perfect spot for a bunch of guys to have some beers, get a bit loud (which was no problem in this place because it's VERY loud) and have some good steaks.

My steak was slightly overcooked, which I expected since I ordered it medium rare.   Seems like I always get overcooked steaks in this town and undercooked burgers.  You'd think it would be the opposite.

Anyways, good food, we got some free appetizers from the manager because of a mixup with our table.  Our waitress was great and was aggressive about making sure we had beer (this is GOOD.)

I'd definitely head back again.

My boyfriend, Jeff, was moving in this past weekend, which meant a few trips to Target, Michael's, Home Depot and Bed, Bath and Beyond.  It also meant plenty of "Old School" quotes to get through the stress of spending so much time in a strip mall.

We were hungry and in need of lunch and decided to go to the Texas Roadhouse that was conviently located in the same shopping center.  We were half joking and expecting to walk out thinking, well, now we've done that... but were quite surprised by the service and food (as a chain, our expectations were low).

We were immediately seated by the hostess who explained that the bread was made fresh every five minutes and served with cinnamon butter.  The bread was hot and delicious, a bit too sweet for Jeff but we both enjoyed it and he was a huge fan of the cinnamon butter.  There was also a bucket of peanuts on the table, which is always a good idea.

Next came our server, Brian.  I have never experienced such quality service at a chain...and he actually seemed to take pride in working there.  Jeff was looking for a beer and Brian was quite knowledgable on the selection and advised Jeff on their own brew, an Amber, but I can't remember the name.  I got the house Margarita, it was huge and a great price.  Also pretty decent!  :-)

Jeff had the Chicken Sandwich and I had the Grilled Chicken Salad (yes, we both ordered chicken at a Steakhouse).  Both were delicious and HUGE portions.  The chicken was perfectly grilled and seasoned, not at all greasy or bland.

Brian was attentive, but not obnoxious, and checked in with us throughout the meal.  We were even joined by the manager who sat down at the table to see how our experience was and why we hadn't been before... they've "been open for six years!"  (Everyone had asked if we'd been before and then remarked on how we've been missing out for six years.)

We'll definitely be back, if we find ourselves at that same lovely Medford shopping center.  :-)

The food was decent. I ordered my NY Strip steak medium rare but it came out medium. My boyfriends medium rare fillet was actually a perfect medium rare though. I felt like I could get the same quality food from my dad (good), but since I don't live with him anymore, the $60 tab for two meals and 4 margaritas beat plane tickets. And, for a chain the quality was high.  Margaritas were okay- I thought mine was watered down until I realized all the tequila was in a pool at the bottom of the glass.

I didn't find the ambiance  to be nearly as "country" or objectionable as others have mentioned, but maybe growing up on the Midwest has numbed me to such places.

I'd come back again.  Definitely prefer this place to the other options in the shopping center (Fridays), and a decent place to stop for dinner before a Costco trip.

Holy gluttony!

Crazy-busy place!  Peanut shells on the floor!  A corner (my seat) with Wille Nelson's pic hanging over ya!  Really good food!

If it's busy you're gonna be waiting.  A long time.  But I think it's worth it.

Aside from Outback, this place has the BEST free bread.  They have a staff whose only job is to make this bread all day.  It comes with cinnamon sugar butter and IT'S LIKE CRACK.  Only you can eat it!

I would give it 5 stars, but, once every so often, they fail to impress me, and I've brought guests who have not been impressed.

I love the ribs here. When they don't F it up, they're the best.  Making me hungry now!

If you like bbq and you like to eat a lot and you like beers and peanuts while you wait for food, this is your kinda place.

This place was fantastic. In fact I was so excited about it after I ate here that I spent two days telling everyone I knew to go.

First thing's first, when you walk in the door you'll see a sign that says not to come in if you have a peanut allergy -- and it's spot on. This place has peanuts everywhere -- on the floor, on your table, in barrels between booths...So beware.

Second, the food was unreal, and the service was great. My girlfriend got the "fall off the bone" ribs, and they tasted fantastic! the fact that they quite literally fell off the bone, was an added bonus.

I chose to pick my own steak from the display case (I picked a 16oz Fillet -- because how can you turn that down?!), and ordered it rare. To my surprise, the steak came back to me cooked perfectly rare, juicy, tastey, and tender.

At first glance, the prices seemed a bit high, but there was enough food for both my girlfriend and I to take boxes home and eat a second dinner from it, so it ended up being a pretty good deal.

Also, the buns with the cinnamon butter are ridiculous.

Please eat here -- you're going to love it.

The first time I tried a Texas Roadhouse was in MA. It became one of our Saturday lunch rotation places. I learned to love ribs here. I'm not a person who likes to pick up a rib and gnaw on it and these were simply fall off the bone fantastic. The fluffy, buttery hot cinnamon honey buns also can't be beat.

We recently went to the one outside of New Brighton, PA and although the ribs were a bit salty they were still very good. We were starved so we ordered up (appetizer combo - wings, ribs and skins) along with our dinner and a couple of drinks. A new taste sensation was the pulled pork. I enjoyed it more than the ribs this visit.

The only thing I didn't remember from Boston was how noisy the place can be for dinner. If you plan on carrying on an intimate conversation this is not the best choice. Since I struggle in New Brighton to find a restaurant I like, this one is on the top of my list. If you spot this chain, give it a try.

Go early or be prepared for a long wait. Lunch to me was the best time to go in Boston or go early for dinner.

I don't eat steaks and am not from Texas.  I don't wear boots, spurs, or a ten-gallon hat, but so help me I do love this place.

I came in a half hour before closing on a weekday night and was welcomed by both bartenders, served a mighty large draft beer posthaste, and eventually when they came back I got my order in.
The rattlesnake bites here are sinful... breaded and deep-fried jalapeno rounds stuffed with cheddar cheese.  They happily turned their chicken finger salad into a buffalo chicken salad, and when the Tabasco wasn't really working for me they got a generous charger of some high-octane pepper sauce from the kitchen that got the job done.
In the meantime, the bartenders kept up the friendly banter, I ended up chatting with a local sitting across from me about everything from buffalo wings to the Allman Brothers, and how many beers did I have again?

I'll be back, probably with people who eat steaks, and next time I'll be looking for more than just a salad. Yee-haw.

Finally a restaurant that doesn't cater to the nancy people with Peanut Allergies....

No seriously if you have a peanut allergy don't go here you will die...they are everywhere.

I love the steaks at not to bad prices and a 22oz Sam Adams is $5.25 not bad either....Loaded Sweet Potato...Ribs....Green Beans with Ham....Baked beans....I'm getting hungry.....I'll have to write more when I get back....

It's a chain, but I'm giving it 4 stars anyway cause the waitstaff line dances...and they deserve a star for the embarassment..even though they seem to be enjoying themselves..

I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I love this place, but I do. So I must.

Yes, it's a chain restaurant and yes, it's decor is slightly tacky and generic. But let's get to the good stuff: The minute you are seated, you are given a basket of the warmest, softest mot delicious rolls you've ever had. But wait - it gets better. The rolls are already buttered, but you are also given a sweet glaze butter that seriously makes these things taste like donuts.

The steaks actually are very good! I'm from the Midwest where steaks are just always good, but I've had difficulty finding good steaks in New England. These are tender, cooked well and flavorful. There's also a great selection of sides to choose from.

So, yes - going here is like going to an Applebee's or TGIF's, but whatever. I can handle the occasional singing waitresses and limited beer selection because the food is honestly very good.

Best "Dallas" fillet (Mignon) I have ever had ... hands down.... better than Ruth Chris, better than you can imagine ....

the atmosphere is so laid back and cool ... just a fun, load, loose spot to let your hair down ... have a beer and order up a heaping plate of goodness ....

I go all the time and can say honestly I am addicted ..... their food is cravable ....

from the hot rolls to their baked beans to their ribs .... the food is finger licking good - at the roadhouse grill that is completely ok ...

plus there is line dancing ....

Country fried steak?  Bread with cinnamon butter?  Peanuts which you can throw on the floor?  Peanuts that I put in bags and walk out with and go to the Bruins, Celtics or Red Sox games with?

This place is full of win.  The wait sucks, but calling ahead with advanced seating notice works.

I have always had great meals, the staff here is polite and helpful, and the overall vibe of this place is quite friendly.

They built one in Danvers closer to me...........but this one is still better.  I think it has to do mostly with the staff and management.  They are much more customer oriented in this location.

Ohhhh boy oh boy....

Texas Roadhouse - well they have amazing food, but..... And this is a HUGE BUT!!!!

If you're like myself where I am some what of a masochist when it comes to the food industry where I enjoy great food, but will live with poor service, crappy dining experiences, a shit show, then you will be able to handle the Texas Roadhouse. It's like punishing yourself but totally indulging in what great food that is sitting on your table.

Imagine getting tied up and having the most amazing time yet feeling some pain. This is what the experience is like here. Inexperienced servers = pain. Amazing food = pleasure.

Let's take one example of the most recent trip to the Roadhouse. Let me ask you this, if I wanted something with less ice in it, you simply just make the drink with less ice correct? No, here, I had the displeasure of getting the response, "oh they won't make the drink with more alcohol in it with the same size glass", Okay... I wasn't asking for more alcohol, just less ice, you can put it in a smaller glass with less ice if you want. What do I get? A scotch glass with my drink in it and NO ICE! Hmmm.... I'm not sure what about less ice they don't get. Or the fact that I had to attempt to drink a margarita out of a scotch glass filled to the brim.

Moving on... how's about the bringing bread and cinnabutter to us after having asked for it multiple times. I guess you can relate to this as asking for sexual favors and your partner just won't take part in it. Of course eventually after some probing, they give in. And so we eventually get our bread &  cinnabutter but not after several requests and about 20 minutes later.

So these things aren't too big of a deal, but when the check arrives, not only did our coupon get left out when we gave this to her at the beginning of our meal for a free appetizer, but only to have a member of our party get charged for the entire bill on her credit card even after we had given her cash and wrote down the 2 cards we needed to charge. I understand mistakes happen, but THAT big of a mistake? Alright she fixes it but what if that mistake made a financial implication that could have been drastic?

While this is just one instance of what had happened, I'm still going to continue to return to the Texas Roadhouse, because like I said, I am a masochist when it comes to my dining experience and am willing to deal with these pains while I enjoy my pleasure.

Ignore the misguided lass who claims this place is akin to Applebees or TGI Fridays...GET REAL!  TRH is way above those two dumps! Puh-leeeez!  TRH serves delicious food for a chain.  You don't have to wait at Applebees or TGIs and there's a reason, they both are terrible!  The ribs at TRH are AWESOME! Don't think twice, if you're hungry, hit up the TRH NOW!  If you need to use a bathroom in an emergency, Applebees or TGIs would be a safe bet.

Due to a nice $50 gift certificate we made the trip up to Everett for some Roadhouse.

I've always enjoyed the food here, but the decor is terrible...I loath country music so that doesnt help at all.

We ordered the sirloin and ribs combo...those ribs...mmmmmm....as usual the cinnamon butter was awesomely tasty. The peanuts are a nice starter, but the premeal cup of chili was great.

One thing I noticed today is that they turnover tables faster than any place I've ever seen. Well done.

I've been to the Texas Roadhouse a handful of times. Past experiences were great with awesome service, environment, and food.

I think it is all depending on the time you go here, because when you come around 40 mins before close i guess they get pissed and not treat you the same.

Me and 3 other friends went. We got to the table and there was no peanuts, got our bread which is always enjoyable, and placed our orders. We got our food, which took longer than expected and the steak was overcooked and the chicken undercooked, and the ribs were no good.

Even though that was a one time thing, I still love to eat here.

And birthdays are always fun and don't just include some lame ass song

I didn't have high expectations for this place, and as a result, I wasn't let down too hard when they failed to deliver a high-quality steak. We had an impromptu guy's night out that started with dinner here. What better way to start an evening of debauchery than with a steak and a beer, right? Well...

The place is loud, open and fulla families, but that's cool. We wrangled a couple of seats at the crowded bar, and had a couple of beers and ate the free peanuts. Love throwing the shells on the floor, which is probably the perpetual 12-year old in me. To quote one of the guys - "I like anyplace where I can litter."

The cuts on display in the case looked delightful, and the menu was a carnivore's playground. I had decided to try a strip steak, but when the waiter announced the 22-oz bone-in ribeye special, my heart soared like a hawk. I and one of my fellow debauchers decided to go this way and man alive were we disappointed.

Medium rare was how we ordered it, but nothing about our steaks were medium rare. See, the problem with cooking steaks on a flame is that you have pretty poor temperature control. So you char the shit out of the outside, and then the inside (especially in a big cut like the 22 bone in) stays pretty purple.

Plus with the fast hot fire, you don't soften up any of that connective tissue, so you got tons o' gristle. Echhh. At least it was a good steak, even if it was badly prepared. The value CANNOT be beat for the meat...or the drinks. The bread and cinnamon butter is fantastic, and service was pleasant and unhurried.

I just wish the steak hadn't been cooked by a retarded monkey. Oh well.

I've been to the Roadhouse several times and have ordered takeout a lot.  I've enjoyed my meals everytime.  I usually go for the bone-in 16oz Ribeye, nicely seasoned and cooked medium rare.  I always get mushrooms on top and they are great!

Their sides are a little bit lame though.  The only ones I wind up going for are the green beans and the mac&cheese (basically Kraft Mac & Cheese).

But the rolls with the cinnamon butter are to die for.  Yummy.

I'll keep going to get my red-meat fix but I'll probably keep getting takeout cuz I hate waiting for a table.  I've waited up to 1 hour for a table before, crazy I know.

I will say that I received an incorrect order one time for takeout and called and spoke to a manager.  They sent me a $10 gift certificate to use.  That was cool.

They have call ahead reservations...if you call them, you can put your name in for the wait line and when you get there just tell them you're ready for your table.  It cuts way down on the wait.

THERE'S SOOO MANY PEANUTS! This is a very filling place for a decent price. I like steak. I like that hardcore American fooding. The bread...looks really good...I don't think I was too crazy about it though. I don't really prefer sweet bread...I like mine buttered up.

I think I WOULD go to this place again...but not anytime soon. I left with a really full belly though. Ribs are awesome and my guy friends were unable to finish the Full Slab. They brought it home.

Perfect spot for a Nut Slut.

"BEWARE:  Peanut shells and dust EVERYWHERE"...  it actually says this on the door as you walk in.  You throw your peanut shells on the floor -- that's kinda their deal.

I absolutely LOVE Texas Roadhouse.  Co-ed Amateur line dancing to "Redneck Woman" in the aisles as you eat... singing waitresses... pick your own delicious ribeye...

and then...

there's the birthday ritual...

1.  Waitress brings stand-alone saddle to the table.
2.  Birthday bitch sits on saddle.
3.  Waitress places white cloth napkin around birthday bitch's neck... ala bandana like a cowboy -- or 80's gay porn star
4.  Birthday bitch holds fake plastic cactus
5.  Waitress stands on back of booth and in her best rodeo voice announces to the ENTIRE restaurant that not only do they call her the Iron Lung of Texas, but that it is indeed birthday bitch's big day.
6.  Entire restaurant yells "Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee haw"
7.  I am amused

The best service I've gotten in months.  The best food I've had in weeks.  The most entertainment I've had at a restaurant in probably a year.

Eighteenth favorite pastime on the planet: shucking and spitting carelessly onto the floor. Here they give you a bucket of peanuts to do whatever you damn well please. Oh what satisfaction one can derive from engaging in what's typically subversive behavior!

A visit is like the GTA IV experience but instead of violence/murder, sex with hookers, blowing shit up, drugs and stealing we embrace those impulses of carnivorous gluttony we normally suppress, holler wildly, drink gargantuan margaritas, ignore caloric intake while inhaling copious amounts of warm rolls and cinnabutter. (Good lord, that stuff is incredible!)

And I have to say, despite the nasty green beans, crouton-less caesar, heart shaped chicken breast, velveeta jalapeno poppers and chewy steak the playful staff and ambiance make for a really a fun adventure in suburbia if you're down to get silly.

I've read a lot of these reviews, and I've been here a couple of times. And it seems like the things I like are the things other don't, and the things I don't are the things others do. Weird.

From this outside, this place smells good. The aroma of meat wafts through the plaza. It's like you've been hypnotized. You just want to go and have food. Very effective. How effective, you ask? Make note of the number of pregnant women coming and going from the Texas Roadhouse. At first, I wasn't sure what was up, and then I realized that there's a Babies R Us in the plaza. Apparently the scent is like a homing device for all the preggos who were creating/updating their baby registries. It's really comical.

Beware: Peanut shells and dust everywhere. They're not kidding. This is pretty cool.  I like the peanuts, though I notice a lot of inedible ones.

They ask when you arrive if you've ever been before. On my first visit, when the answer was no, someone (manager?) came by and gave us an envelope, with a takeout menu and a coupon for a free appetizer to be used during our next visit. The expiration date wasn't too far out, so they want to make sure you come back soon, but it's a nice touch.

The rolls are pretty good. I think everyone fawning over the cinnamon butter got my hopes up. It's good, don't get me wrong, but I feel like I expected something more.

Everything I've ordered so far has been really good. They cook their steaks just as you order them, and they're really tasty. The pulled pork was good, and the sides I've had have been good as well.

Now, let's talk about a couple things that just irk me.

Speaking of sides, last time I checked, sides were just that. Something that came with and sat aside your main dish. That's not the case here. The first time I came, I received both my sides (a salad and a cup of chili) before my "meal" which then consisted of just a piece of meat. Huh? So I eat the chili, and I leave the salad so I can have something to go along with my steak. And the waitress stops by, sees that I haven't touched the salad yet and asks me if there's something wrong. Umm, no, I'm waiting to have it with my meal. How does this not seem odd to them? Another time I was here, i was specifically choosing sides based on what I thought would actually come with the meal. But, my friend ordered the salad and the chili, and they came out first. It's apparently part of the way they do things, but it's just odd.

The first time I was in there, there were a bunch of bugs flying around. I think it was mainly flies and fruit flies. An annoyance, and something I didn't notice on my second trip here, which was an improvement.

Next is the schtick. One of the things I can't stand about most chain restaurants is the whole birthday thing. This place is no exception. Especially when you have to hear it a bunch of times during your meal. Enough already. Are there really that many people actually having bday, or are you people making this up?

And the dancing. The first time I was in there, I don't think this happened, and if it did, I was off in a corner and didn't notice. But the last time I was there, all of a sudden the music, which was already on the loud side, doubled in volume, and there was a line-dancing routine by all the servers. Honestly, you couldn't pay me enough to work here and do that. But, I get it. It's part of the ambiance. But, does the music have to be so blaringly loud that I think it's damaging my ear drums? I get that you want everyone to pay attention to the dance, but it's just wayyyyyyyyy too loud.

Overall, not a bad place, the food is pretty good for being a chain, and an easy place for satisfying a meat craving. If they can tone down the music and actually learn the meaning of sides (I'll just ask for things to come out with the meal from now on), there could definitely be an additional star added.

Although the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the food however was not. I was sorely disappointed since the TX Roadhouse in Texas (yes, they do have these in Texas and the one in Austin is supposedly owned by Willie Nelson) does have some pretty good food.

We started off with rolls and cinnamon butter. Simply divine! The disappointment came with the main entree. First, we were told that they did not have any more rare or medium rare prime ribs so then we ordered the medium. Then about 30 minutes later when one of our tables had their food arrive, our server tells us that there is only one medium prime rib left. So I relinquished my thoughts of a tasty meat and took to the menu for some other options. I finally decide on a pork chop which came out overcooked and missing my side of mashed potatoes. I understand that we were a large party and things might have been a little hectic but I was a little peeved to be the only person without a plate in front of her.

Overall, I wasn't too impressed with this restaurant.  Although I was pleased with our waitress, my dining guests and I didn't find the food to be very appetizing.

One of my friends ordered the chicken sauteed with onions and mushrooms.  My other friend ordered the rib eye ribs.  Both said their meals were too salty.

I ordered the sirloin beef tips, and they were so gristly that I literally had to spit out each bite into my napkin.  Not good.  Our final displeasure was the lipstick stain from a previous guest that we discovered on one of my friend's tea cup.

On a good note, our waitress was friendly and attractive, and everything else that I ordered was delicious (mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables).  And of course, the rolls with cinnamon butter were awesome!

Overall, though, I'm not sure I'd go back.  It wasn't terrible, and I have been here before a couple of times in the past, and I don't recall any bad experiences.  But personally, I prefer Bugaboo Creek over the Texas Roadhouse.

Come hungry or go home.  This place usually has a wait on Friday and Saturday nights.  I think for the price and the amount of food, the wait is well worth it.  Sure on the way to your table you feel like you are walking through a peanut disaster zone, but its a very friendly environment.  I think the service is always pretty good.  Not thrilled about the country music, but hey...we are in Texas baby.

Eater beware: Watch out for tasty rolls, can be filled up very quickly

The menu has all your typical items you can get from a steakhouse/bbq type of place.  The steaks are usually cooked well and I enjoy them.  They go a little BBQ sauce heavy on most other dishes, but that is the nature of Texas Roadhouse.  I think the sides are one of the great things about this place.  Some of the options are house salad/Caesar salad/mashed potatoes/baked potatoes/fries...to name a few.  I recommend the house Italian dressing.  Dont forget to load your potatoes with either cheese and bacon or marshmallows.  For the price, this place is worth a visit.  This place is probably nothing like Texas, but its the closest we've got.

Came here for fellow Yelper Becki's birthday bash...... got to see her do this "double-jointed" cauliflower thing with her tongue.. (... SUCH a turn-on), and I got to touch her metal nipple (ask her for details!), as well as listen to her and Roni teach me how to pee in a cup. Just on that alone, who cares about the food? Pornfest and ribs! Nuff said!

But oh yeah..... the cinnamon butter and rolls........ what great foreplay. The loaded sweet potato (with melted marshmallow).... the tender ribs (both Becki's and the ones on my plate), the loaded chili, everything was great for this first-timer. It was like watching my first hot love scene in a movie..... but in the presence of my parents, since this was my first time meeting all the other Yelpers that came, so while I was really into it, I had to remain maturely subdued. But NEXT time...... I'm bringing out the leather mask and spelunking gear!

Great place, great food, fun atmosphere. I'll have to come back and try the other menu items to see if it warrants 5 stars.

Okay, they don't take reservations - but why should they when they have folks waiting out the door?  So my friend called ahead (they do allow that), and the first of our group arrived 40 minutes before we were hoping to be seated.  Happily, we were taken to our tables by 6:10pm - 5 minutes early!

A full metal bucket of peanuts greeted us at our table and the slightly sweet warm golden rolls with creamy cinnamoned butter soon followed.

The service was pleasant, but the one who took the orders was not necessarily the ones who delivered them... so we had a few sides confused, but they fixed it all as soon as they could.  And when an entree was off, a new one was brought with fresh sides even though the original sides were already consumed during the wait.

And now for the food -

*ribs - tender, fall of the bones; would eat again
*fries - steak fries, okay, kinda lost some crispness while waiting for me under the ribs

*country fried chicken - a single chicken breast, spread out and flatted, and fried with some kind of batter; choice of beef based dark gravy or chicken based milk gravy - the waitress kindly offered to bring both on the side when I hesitated on choosing one
*green beans - I was warned that they came with onions and bacon, I was not warned that they were a wet side dish, nor that they were a small cupful in portion... I think I'll try a different side next time
*sweet potato loaded with marshmallow and maple syrup - I think I'll do without the topping next time... just didn't taste right to me

*prime rib - tender and tasty, I had a taste of my friend's; a good choice

Monday - Thursday 4pm - 6pm, they offer 10 dinner choices for $7.99 each... I'd love to come to try that sometime.

This is a great place to go for a delicious and affordable steak dinner.  I've been to some of the more expensive steakhouses in Boston and even outside the city.  I think that the Roadhouse offers a really good quality and quantity meal for under $20.  The atmosphere is fun and It's a nice alternative to Fridays/99/Uno.  I'd recommend to friends and family.

3 words - Cinnamon Honey Butter

The ecstasy experienced by placing a combination of the bread and butter to your mouth surpasses just about every other pleasure of the flesh.

The onion blossom can feed a family of 4 for a week, and the Alligator bites are the right combination of zesty and tasty

I have never gotten my ribs/steak/burger cooked any other way than how I ordered it (which seems like quite the accomplishment in many places) and the vegetables or cooked very well as well.

I would suggest the sweet potatoes, topped with the aforementioned cinnamon honey-butter.

Umm. excuse me... I think I need a cold shower now.

So last night we came here for Barbara Ann's birthday.  Did we have a great time and eat some yummy food?  Oh, indeed we did.  Was I kind of let down by the service?  Oh hell yes.

The drinks-all good.  My big beer was under $5.  The tater skins the table shared?  Truly delightful.  Company-five stars all the way.  My entree of pulled pork-tender and yummy all the way.  You ask, why the two stars?  The waitress was not on her game.  Several things had to be asked for twice-like rolls and condiments.  Forgetting to take an item for which we had a coupon off the bill.  There was an issue with drinks being served incorrectly (she blamed the bartender instead of fixing it), and the nail in the coffin for the two star rating was when my card got charged for the ENTIRE bill.  I've waited tables and it takes an extra second to check the bill before you swipe a card, or even take the slips back to the table.  I was really not happy about it, because even if it was an honest mistake, I didn't feel good about it.  Overall it was too much for me to over look.  One flubbed drink or forgetting to bring one item to the table?  Fine.  Messing up repeatedly, not okay.

I am hoping that it was a one time screw up, and while the food was good, I am not really sure if I'd be back to risk receiving crap service again.  Also, they do not take reservations, but there wasn't a wait when we came in.

I don't like to review on an outing out with my husband and kids because I feel like it effects my judgment, but I feel this is the exception.

Lets start with the call ahead seating. I called for a table an hour in advance and was told I needed to call 20 min prior to arrival, not a problem in this wonderful world of cellphones. We arrived and got seated right away at a table that still hadn't been cleaned. I assume this is part of their schtick. We then get asked to move to the table next to us, again an unclean table. The only saving grace is the silly decor and loud music that is more than enough to keep an 8yo and 3yo busy as we wait 15 for our bread and drinks.

The waitress asks if we've ever been (which we haven't) and proceeds to go on and on about the award winning ribs, and BBQ. Why no beef ribs in a steak house is beyond me, steak being cow and all. I decide to go with the ribeye and ribs with fries and a baked potato, then my husband and kids ordered. 15 min later some random guy literally dropped our food at the table, minus my 3yo order, and my fries as well as my husbands. We waited a little bit and grabbed our waitress and inquired about our orders, she claims we never ordered for my son (the check will prove otherwise later with 2 orders of the same thing) but will put it in for us and bring the fries too, which were forgotten.....twice.

Now the food. Everything is bigger in TX right? Oh so wrong. I'm a petite woman and was able to polish off my meal with out a problem. I got 15 fries, seriously, I counted them. My steak was not cooked as I ordered, but I was scared to send it back (cue scene from Waiting). The ribs were just OK, I've actually had better at Applebee's and Fridays. The bread however was amazing, the peanuts and the free refills on drinks was a plus.

The only real reason I see me going back and spending another $50 there would be to buy the steaks to make at home.

I freakin' love this place!

I will find any excuse I can to go to Texas Roadhouse. I once made a vegetarian friend go with me because I was craving steak and just had to have it (to my delight, they have a meat-free portion of their menu that my friend ordered from and liked).

Their bread and butter is hands-down the best I've ever had. i can stuff myself full of the bread before my food even arrives. Actually.... I've been guilty of that a few times. I've also been guilty of eating spoonfuls of their butter. But I digress.....

The onion blossom thingies are great... prime rib -- excellent considering how reasonable the price is... ribs are juicy and tender.... Gawd, I am salivating just thinking about the food.

Oh, and the call-ahead seating has saved me many hundreds of minutes waiting for a table. Just call, ask how long it is for a table, and put your name on the list. I'd much rather spend an extra half hour at home or doing something productive than sitting on a wooden bench amongst a million peanut shells waiting for my name to be called.

Who wants to have a meal with me soon so I can suggest Texas Roadhouse???

Oh, Texas Roadhouse. You slay me.

I'm definitely a fan of this place. While the whole line dancing routine to "Red Neck Woman" is annoying and more often then not leaves people wondering where the heck their waiter/waitress went, I've learned to block it out and I've started singing along to the song. God I definitely go there too often.

Can't beat the incredible buns with cinnamon butter. Their prime rib is fantastic. My dad will only go here for steaks now. I love their honey mustard salad dressing. And the pulled pork!!! It's so GOOD!

I took off a star for just how quickly the meal is over and how bad-for-you their margaritas are (a regular margarita has 500 calories, imagine their's!). Their margaritas are out of this world but I can't be taking in as many calories as the meal from my drink!

I love it, but you might not.

I think the Texas Roadhouse appeals to the suburban child/ carnivore in me.  I always get the smallest (6oz?) filet, always rare, and it's always perfect  ("always"= 3 times).  They also have this awesome bread- warm, fluffy, and oddly sweet, but very tasty.

Unfortunately, after two of my three visits to this joint, the friend with whom I was dining felt ill.  I guess now that the Greenhouse (Harvard Square) has closed, I have a new place to go with my friends who swear they can eat anything.

I went here by accident when Panera across the parking lot had just closed. Then again, it was something worth experiencing.

Being a private person when I dine out, this place is outlandishly awkward and crass with a Texas theme on the side. You wonder how Bush got this way! They toss peanut shells everywhere, make the servers kickout into a YEEE-HAW dance, and toss you some hot-outta-the-oven butter cinnamin buns (delicious).

The chicken fritters and steak were decently appetizing. The mash potatoes and buttered steamed veggies were great!! Though I haven't returned since because I wouldn't want to get pressured to ride that stupid pony!
