Couple of girls wanting me to take them on a date here. So I did.
They had a good time. The guys come out with meat on swords in loin cloths.
I noticed though the meat was hit or miss on the proper amount of time to be cooked. It was rather expensive so when you come here come hungry. -

I was really disappointed in quality and preparation the meat, can't ask for the right temperature, under or over that you can get. I think Logan down the road know how to cook steak more than your cook.
My group had to wait 25-30 minutes for dry salty lamp chop, hell no. I saw the cook shacked the seasonning on the meat like powder sugar on donuts hole, C'ome this isn't a cheap Chinese food buffet add a lot of MSG in every single dish.
and $2.95 for no-refiled soda, you should do better than this for $42.95 buffet. -

Yuck..... All I can say about this place.
Welcome: Walked in with my wife around 6PM, the young lady at the Hostess stand looked up at us for a moment, then went back to her paper. After 30 seconds, I light-heartedly said, "Should we seat ourselves?". She had this disdained look and then said, "Only two tonight?" She took us to an empty table and walked away. That was our entire "welcome" to this place. Wow!
Waiter: "Hipster-Doofus" is the word my wife used to describe him. Nice guy, but didn't seem to know much about the restaurant, other than a memorized canned drivel about how the "flippy" thing works and where the salad bar was. Yes, he actually pointed at the salad bar, which was 5 feet away from us and said, "That's the salad bar, they have veggies and salad there."
Salad Bar: Decent. Nothing great, just decent.
Meat: We had the guys come by and give us five small servings of a variety of meats and dug in. We know Brazillian style and understand the "saltiness" is pretty overwhelming, but this was absolutely the worst seasoned Brazilian BBQ I've ever tried. The filet was the only decent item, and that was primarily because it was really tender.
The ribs were seasoned with something similar to "nothing" and were tough. I mean tough like salty stale gummy bears. They didn't tear or fall off the bone. Bleck!
The price was few bucks less than Chima in Tysons but the quality was not even close.
If you are the type of person who, when you want a good burger, get a whopper, then this is the place for you if you're looking for a meat-fest.
Sorry to be this critical, but you can see from my other posts that I happily give great reviews for great service/quality. -

The product being offered doesn't measure up to the high prices being charged. This is Sodium Paradise but there's nothing heavenly about the service or the prices. The operator of this restaurant branch needs to get staff together and have a serious discussion about friendliness toward customers. The quality of the food does not measure up to the price tag on the check. This place has potential but it can do much, much better.

I think TdB just beat out KFC's infamous Double Down Sandwich as "Salt Bomb" King. Seriously...TdB must own stock in salt companies! Even our waitress agreed the meats were too salty. Even the salad bar (or "light dinner" option) had several items that were loaded in salt. I'd recommend eating a hearty salad of just greens to even out the saltiness.
TIP: Waitress said you can request meats without salt, but this only applies to the non-marinated ones. -

I was really disappointed in the meat. When will these chains realize that local meats are so much better? It's really frustrating to spend so much and the meat is of the same quality as Logan's.
First if you never have had fresh local meats then this place probably is good but once you taste really good food you certainly know the difference.
When I had to cut and I mean saw the meat off the ribs that should be a big clue. Ribs should easily be pulled off with a fork. Thinking I got a bad one I even ask for better the manager came out seemed very confused? Seriouly with ribs and then said hel will send another out. I has to saw this one too.
The salad bar was good with wonderful cheeses. Rolls and bread good.
But since the point is meat and it's tough corn feed frozen nasty meat go to Logan's and at least save money cause it will taste the same. -

Expensive, but worth a shot, awesome buffet items and the meat choices of VARIOUS sorts are crucial. Make sure you go when you're starving. Groupon had a deal where you pay $25 and get $50 credit, definitely worth it.
Oh and refills are not bottomless!! -

-Great steaks, but somewhat salty.
-They serve mostly medium rare unless you specifically ask for medium to well done
-Don't bother with the round red or green flip card, they will come to your table no matter what anyway
-Wish there was more variety in their side items menu
-Pricey, it's worth it to sign up for their mailing list to get occassional deals
-Great wine selection
-Nice place for anniversary, bday, or romantic dinner date
-Decent Dessert
-Business Casual to Dressy attire, casually sophisticated ambiance
-Will come back again, will come in starving -

For where it is, it gets an extra start.
1. It's more salty than an old sailor. Be sure to order these meats ONLY - any red meat that is not the outside crust. Avoid all poultry, sausages, and filets.
2. It's expensive. I've been to many Brazillian Churasscarias - it's price is on par with NYC but the quality is not.
3. There isn't much going on in these parts, so overall - it's probably one of the bettter bets - it gets an extra star for that.
Personally I wouldnt' go here again - but if you are stuck in the area for more than 3 weeks - you may find yourself coming here. -

A very good churrascaria (an all you can eat meat extravaganza that includes a salad bar). Our wait on a Sunday eve at 5:30pm without a reservation was 75 min (although the hostess said it would be closer to 60 min). It's usually an easy time to get into a restaurant, so we assumed the restaurant's popularity was a sign of the goodness to come. The online reservation system doesn't work, so reservations are by phone only (not sure how, or even if, the phone method works).
The meat was excellent. A good variety of beef, chicken, and lamb. Not that I cared, because I came for the beef. All of the beef was highly salted and medium rare, which was a huge positive for me. The flank steak was easily one of the best I've ever had.
The salad bar was large (but Fogo DC's is slightly better). Lettuce, salad dressings, cured meats, fish/seafood, cheeses (goat, parmesan, fresh buffalo mozzarella, and a fried one?), artichoke hearts, hearts of palm, lame sushi (cute presentation of the wasabi, though), rice, black beans, bread, and lobster bisque. Like many reviewers, I thought the lobster bisque was really good.
The side dishes at the table were: cheddar puffs (an interesting cross between a cheez-it and a popover that did nothing for me), barely-fried plaintains with cinnamon (inh), and garlic mashed. Everyone else at my table loved the garlic mashed, but I kept wishing for Fogo's plaintains and polenta sticks.
The atmosphere is rather typical of the genre: dark woods, tall ceilings, and dim lighting. The biggest downside of this restaurant was the table density: there are a lot of tables for the space. Customers have to walk somewhat carefully to/from the salad bar. Due to the table spacing, it's somewhat loud.
The service was good. Not obtrusive, but our server (Andrew) definitely kept track of the timing of our meal, so that as we got towards the end of our gluttony, he asked what we were looking for and those meats appeared at our table.
Dinner was $44/person. The additional charges are drinks and dessert. Skip the sangria. At $30 a pitcher, it tasted like over-priced Kool Aid with some fruit and wine added. The dessert selection is surprisingly Southern and not focused on chocolate. The options were coconut chess pie, pecan pie, creme brulee, dressed-up cheesecake, chocolate mouse with a huge white non-chocolate layer, carrot cake, and some sort of meringue pie. Despite the huge meal, the cheesecake and creme brulee disappeared completely from our table. -

Simply put: Texas de Brazil is delicious. I am always a fan of all-you-can-eat, especially when it includes a huge, awesome salad bar. There's a huge array of veggies and fruit, as well as soups, rice, potatoes, etc. The meat itself is amazingly tender and delicious. The gauchos and servers have always been nice and service is good.
I only have two complaints. First, it can feel very crowded and cramped at times. I usually try to come at non-busy times to avoid the noisy, cluttered atmosphere. Second, it is quite expensive for regular dinner. I usually wait until I have a coupon to eat here. (Pro tip: Sign up for their email mailing list! Buy one, get one free birthday coupons and other awesome deals!)
Bottom line: Excellent food, but just a little too pricey and crowded to make a regular dinner stop. -

This is top notch stuff. Pretty upscale for an all you can eat opportunity. Very inviting & fancy inside, you'll feel dumb in jeans and a t-shirt. The salad bar offers more than just salad. There's also warm food (rice, potatoes, etc) and cheese options. the meat comes to your table in flavorful arrays. You can get chicken, pork, steak, and lamb in various flavors, cuts and intensities.
Pros: super delicious food, tons of variety and nice staff. plus, their restroom is to die for, it make me wanna wash my hands multiple times.
Cons: pricey, like $42 a person but its a good quality buffet. Its also quite crowded so it can be an obstacle course getting to the fresh food bar. -

This is good stuff! Filet was very tender but of course anything wrapped in bacon is the bomb! The salad bar offers so much stuff - highly recommend the au gratin potatoes, now if I could only make them that good. Only complaint i would have is that they don't always look at your green/red card (red means stop bringing meat) but that's minor.

Brunch prices can't be beat - and in my opinion this place is WAY better than Fogo de Chao (on Penn Ave in DC) and other Brazilian BBQ places I've been that haven't left an impression on me...
The salad bar area is large and had lots of fresh veggies and breads - and cheeses galore!! I also agree with other reviewers that the lobster bisque was VERY delicious. I usually split this with my BF to save *some* room for the rest of the food!
The meat is non-stop and their cheese bread is off the hook -- better than the cheese puffs at Central Michele Richard! I followed the advice about getting something carbonated to drink when eating a ton (I got sparkling water) and it really did help to make more room in the belly! I could even split a dessert - the chocolate cake is AMAZING (and I'm usually not a fan of ordering chocolate cake when the dessert menu has sooooo much to choose from). I'm sure all of their desserts are fantastic.
Service was great too, and just be sure you're EXTREMELY hungry when you arrive here. It'll probably be the only meal you'll need to eat within 24 hours. -
Review from Ji Y.
I was at the mall here and the husband wanted some meat. We decided to try this place out since they had TONS of meat for us to indulge in. The price during the sunday brunch time around $37 per person. The price wasn't bad compared to what you pay at Fogo de Chao.
The salad bar area is large and had lots of fresh foods there. On the one side, there is a hot food area and I had the lobster bisque that was serving there. Yummy! That was delicious.
The meat kept coming and I tried very hard not to indulge too much in their cheese bread because they are my weakness when I'm at Brazilian restaurants. When the waiters come around with the meats, I love that you can choose medium rare or medium well. After eating a lot of the meat, there was more room in the belly for me to eat more of the fresh cheese breads that came out! Word of advice when eating a lot of meat... get something carbonated to drink. It'll help make more room in the belly. I got the brazilian drink guarana and I was reminded how much I missed this drink.
There is a lot to eat so make sure you have a huge appetite before going! Definitely worth a visit! -

I love this place! I didn't give it 5 stars because I thought some of the meat was too salty.
The salad bar had some very decent selections. My favorites were the garlic shrimp and the roasted cheese. The salad bar comes with the all-you-can-eat bbq ($43/person). If you have a Groupon, which I did, it's a little bit cheaper.
The meat selection was decent. I saw skewers of bacon wrapped filet mignon, bacon wrapped chicken, sausages, prime rib, and garlic steaks floating through the restaurant. They were all very good. I loved the bacon wrapped meat!
The service was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and brought out a constant stream of side dishes (bread nuggets, plantains, and mashed potatoes!). You can get full easily from eating the sides so I would avoid it. The salad bar also has some good starchy food which you should avoid...such as potato gratin, lobster bisque, and some rice with meat dish. It's delicious!
You'll feel like a different person walking out of the restaurant. A much bigger, gluttonous, pregnant person.
It's a classy restaurant (the decor is very upscale) but I would wear a baggy shirt or stretchy pants if i were you! =) -

If you're a true Brazilian (like myself), you will dislike or hate this churrascaria. I'm half Brazilian and go there every year, and this is absolutely way below par--even for an American churrascaria!
First of all, almost nothing on the mediocre salad bar had anything to do with Brazil. The employees also had barely any knowledge about anything they are serving. They only knew the names for the food they were serving in those warped, badly translated English versions. It's quite sad that there are no Brazilian employees at a BRAZILIAN restaurant.
Most of the meat that came around was also very under cooked, salty and there were barely any meats available compared other churrascarias in the area.
The one thing I liked was our waitress. She was very nice and she meant well. She also seemed to be the most experienced and knowledgeable about the food. -

A solid 3.5 stars, and if we didn't have such a nasty waitress this would be 4 stars.
I took my family out to Texas de Brazil in the Fair Oaks mall last night. My father and I sat and waited for my wife and my Mom and downed a few beers because they had a happy hour on.
At about 6:30 we were seated and our waitress had an attitude from the get go. I asked her about happy hour going on in the dining area as well and she said no. Also, she seemed like she would rather be somewhere else than handling our table. The salad bar was fantastic, they had about everything you could ask for. Goat cheese, Gouda, Salad, lobster bisque, prosciutto, sushi, mozzarella, and so much more. The meat they brought out was fantastic (filet mignon, flank steak, sirloin, chicken, ribs, sausage, lamb, etc.). One thing that bugged everyone at our table is our waitress was no where to be seen throughout our meal (she had vanished). At one point, we even had to flag down another waitress to take our dirty plates.
The decor of this place is pretty cool as well, very modern and had the texas-brazil theme down very well. If we had better service, it would have been a memorable experience.Listed in: Chains of Love

Very nice -- great selection of meat. You do have to watch the salt in all of these Brazilian steak places. The service is very good.

Texas de Brazil is the fifth churrascaria I've been to and it's definitely been the worst. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so expensive, but I was expecting the meat to be similar to Fogo de Chao. In reality, the prices should've been half the price because the food was half the quality. Either save your money or go to Fogo de Chao.

So Im going all in and I will give this place 5 stars! I dont want to read the other reviews because I dont want it to alter my experience.
My friend took me to this place to celebrate my promotion and from start to finish it was an amazing experience. All you can eat meat from all over the place. You flip the sign to green light and servers come from all over the place to serve you different types of meat...yum, they offer you cigars, drinks and just a pleasant experience. You stop, catch your breath and then your ready for round two and three.
Yes, it is expensive- but its about quality and service. Its very clean, professional and just a great experience overall. They were very attentive and I ddint feel rushed. I felt like an old mobster being waited on and I loved every bit of it! Please keep in mind that this was a year ago, so Im not sure if the service is still the same, but I promise that I will be back! -

Loves me some meat, so of course I dig Brazilian steakhouses.
I've been to Fogo de Chao several times and prior to this Texas de Brazil which I visited with a Groupon, I'd eaten at the TDB in Miami, Florida.
Miami experience= phenomenal in every way.
Fairfax experience didn't quite live up.
The good news is the lobster bisque offering here is just as good as I remember it being on my first visit down on South Beach. To be on a salad bar, it is soooo freaking good! It is possibly some of the best lobster bisque I've had in my life. I am sure that if it were served a la carte and had real lobster meat chunks it would be the best bisque of my life.
As a staunch advocate that one should NEVER waste tummy space with salad bar foolishness at a Churrascaria , I had TWO bowls of that damn good bisque...
Bad news. The meat didn't live up to my expectations! The variety was lacking. Especially compared to Fogo. Much of the meat way overcooked to my preference of rare to medium rare....
What WAS "rare" was meat cooked to my liking coming to my table! Alas, I found a flank steak being served that was nice and bloody, so I just gorged on that...but...it was FLANK steak for heavens sake!
I go to the Churrascaria to grub down on some bacon-wrapped filet!
As I also refuse to waste tummy space on any overcooked piece of meat, I found myself shoving much of it to the side.
I plan on going back soon to use the second Groupon I purchased--because at THAT price it is worthy. But when I'm really fiending for the meat, I will spend my dollars at Fogo.
5 stars and a toast to the lobby bisque! -
Review from Nadine F.
I much prefer Texas de Brazil to Fogo de Chao, and this was my first time in the Fair Oaks Mall location. I have to admit that I was suspicious of its location in a mall. It did indeed have a tackier vibe and decor than Fogo, and it was also tackier than the Texas de Brazil I've been to in Dallas, but I feel like this serves as a reality check, because let's face it, if you're going to an all you can eat meat-on-a-stick restaurant, you're kind of tacky, even if you call it a churrascuria.
Service was pretty good, and they delivered where it counted. The meats were all well-seasoned, with a big variety, and the gauchos came around frequently. The waiter also came by a few times to ask if we wanted to specially order anything we hadn't been offered yet or perhaps get a different level of doneness on something we had tried.
The sangria was tasty, and I didn't realize it was going to come in a Texas-sized pitcher. I had grown accustomed to DC-sized portions, which would usually be about 4 glasses per pitcher, but this was a full-sized pitcher that contained at least 8 full glasses.
The sides were also delicious, which I appreciate, because you know most people would accept sub-par sides when they come in primarily for meat. They have delicious cheesy rolls, fried plantains, and perfect mashed potatoes.
The salad/appetizer bar was also wonderful and had a huge variety, though I would second what a previous reviewer said about there not being enough salad. If you don't feel like eating a month's worth of meat at one sitting, they offer a lower price for the "light" lunch or dinner, which is just sides and the appetizer buffet (no meat on a stick!), which also includes various cold cuts and would leave anyone feeling full...but why torture yourself like that? -

I love this place and have eaten here many times in different cities. I've been to this one 4 or 5 times since moving up. I have found that other locations are more friendly, and the service is better.
I went in to take my sister to lunch, I have a VIP Card, but they wouldn't take it. Every other location has always taken it regardless of what day it is. I've even had them take it when it was expired but still had some left on it.
I would have given it 4 stars but downgraded because I'm not sure I'll be back and if I am it won't be often. The food is amazing, but I also have found better selections in other locations than this one. I will say the Salad bar is AWESOME! I wish I could just go in and get that sometimes. Don't get me wrong, amazing amazing food but service and friendliness is lacking at this location. -

Price more than average. Maybe cheaper than pogo de chao.
Taste little better than Malibu, but it is really salty.
If your tables are near the salad bar, you could see the employee put bunch of salt on the meat before it gets cooked. -

I recently organized a special Bachelor's Party for a friend at Texas de Brazil. Unfortunately, our dining experience was less than ideal. I specifically told the hostess and waiter of our special occassion (and even included it as a note in our online reservation).
However, our server was not attentive - we had numerous empty dishes that were piled - so much so that we had to pile them up on a nearby empty table. In fact, I had to personally request of the hostess that our server come because he was so unattentive.
We requested certain foods and dishes numerous times and did not receive them until three or more requests. Finally, I was expecting some type of special thing for my friend\'s bachelor's party (i.e., a dessert or something), but unfortunately nothing was received.
The whole experience left all of us disappointed, especially on a special day. Furthermore, because of six person group, we were forced to give 18% gratuity which was not deserved.
I would highly suggest not wasting a special occassion here as we were extremely disappointed. -

CHIMA is so much better. I always dine at Chima at Tysons Corner, and thought I'd try Texas de Brazil since it's closer to my where I live.
At Chima the servers are all professionals. The folks carrying the meat are very knowledgeable about their meats, temperature, and quality. If you ask medium rare, you get medium rare. If they don't have it, they make sure they come back to you. They slice the meats very gracefully, giving you nice cut steaks. Food quality is never questionable here. There is never any bad food here. The meats are always cooked into perfection, very tender and juicy. The waiters are very professional and classy.
At Texas de Brazil, the meat is either well done, or rare. I mean bloody rare. I think the temperature is too high so that the outside cooks too much while the inside is still rare. The people that carry the meat would just give you a chunk of meat (half is well done and half is bloody) no matter what temperature you ask for. It does not seem like they know the difference because they never offered to come back if they didn't have what I asked for, nor did they actually give me what I ask for (I repeat, the meat is either well done or bloody rare).
Not only I didn't get the temperature I asked for, most of the meats are chewy. Also, they gave us lamb chops that were burnt. And by that I mean charcoal, the bones disintegrate when you touch it. I cannot believe they would serve that; it's just completely unacceptable to serve burnt food that was not edible.
The waiter we had was some college kid who was not used to fine dining, if that's what it was supposed to be. I ordered bottled water, and he made it sound so complicated because it seemed like bottled water was a foreign concept to him. He wanted to insist that the bottle they had (Saratoga) was a bizzare, unusual water, and wanted me to just take the tap water instead. He said something like, "it's kind of like bottled water, but it's weird. It's Saratoga, not sure if you want that or not." After maybe 3 minutes trying to understand him, I finally asked him to bring me the bottled water, and I was in disbelief how he made it so complicated.
I will never eat at Texas de Brazil again. Chima Brazillian Steakhouse at Tysons Corner is MUCH MUCH BETTER. The prices are about the same, maybe $5 different, not sure. But at Chima you get high quality food and service. The salad bar at Chima is also a LOT better; they have all kinds of lettuces and vegetables (arugula, romaine, iceberg, peas, broccoli, etc etc), cheeses (parmeggiano reggiano, gorgonzola, gouda, swiss, mozarella, etc etc), cold cuts (prosciiutto, carpaccio, salami, smoked salmon), and a variety of cold appetizers. You also get a much more professional and classy service, and most importantly high quality food. If you go to their website you can sign up to get a $20 coupon which is a great value. -

So excited about this place..meat, and more meat, and a fantastic salad bar!! Woohoo
Where do i begin???...I was excited to try this place and my past two experiences have not disappointed me.
The salad bar, which i swore I would not utilize in an effort to not take up any tummy space to make more room for meat, is incredible and a great selection. Please try the lobster bisque and sauteed mushrooms (of course along with the other fabulous salad/sides)...yummmieee!!!
And the meat which is all great, will be cooked to your liking, and you have the option of getting it with or without seasoning. I actually love the flavor or their meat...it is salty..but im a sucka for seasoning.
And like anyone would have any room left for dessert (I took it home) their carrot cake is scrumptious!!!
My only complaint is that I can never eat as much as I want to!
Love, love, love Texas De Brazil -

Yes, it's pricey. You need an appetite here to make it worth your while. If you're a meat-eater, you'll be just fine.
I found the lamb a little too salty, but tell the waiter before hand, he'll make sure you have a cut to your liking. -

If you actually like fruits and vegetables DO NOT GO HERE.
My parents, grandfather, and boyfriend decided to take me here for my graduation celebration since they knew I loved fruits and vegetables and they heard Texas de Brazil had a nice salad bar. In fact, the Texas de Brazil salad bar is rated among the best in Northern Virginia.
Unfortunately the "salad bar" is not a salad bar at all - it is a cheese, meat, bread, dip, and olive bar. It is a huge bar of heavily oiled, seasoned, cheese-and-fat-laden delicacies. Things you can find in the "salad bar" include cookies and sausages. The only fresh raw vegetables (like what you would find in a typical salad bar) were one type of lettuce and tomatoes. So that was my graduation celebration meal - not ideal.
The good news is that if you like cookies and sausages, this "salad bar" is the one for you!!!
I actually tried really hard to be sure that the salad bar would be something I would enjoy. I called ahead a few days before I went and asked if they had plain fruits and vegetables in the salad bar, and the manager told me they did and that he would also make me a nice salad when I arrived. Unfortunately this did not happen - when I requested plain fruits and vegetables I was met with a blank stare and condescending attitude. Eventually he did bring me some asparagus and peppers, but even when I thanked him profusely, he frowned at me. I felt incredibly awkward and terrible for asking for what I wanted in the first place, and he made me feel even worse! It was terribly awkward for my family who were paying a lot of money just to make me happy.
So bottom line: if you actually like salad this is not the place for you - the "salad bar" is not what you are thinking. -

I don't even know where to begin with this place!
The restaurant itself was decorated nicely and that's what the 1 star is for.
The salad bar was mediocre. I think the only thing I liked was the cheese. The meat that came around was way too salty. I had a little bit of everything and it just seemed like they drenched it in the ocean and served it to us. It was so bad I ended up throwing up!
We told the waiter and instead of bringing a manager over he told me "Well next time just tell us and we'll cook you something with less salt". YEAH RIGHT!!! There WON'T be a next time!
I had a few friends go there and told me the food was too salty for them too but I still wanted to try it for myself. I will never go back! If you're craving for a place like this I suggest Chima. -

I'd been really missing eating copious amounts of meat served from swords so when I got a free birthday dinner coupon for Texas de Brazil I figured making the drive to Fairfax would be worth it. And it totally was!
I loved the salad bar, I thought it was better than the one at Fogo (except it didn't have amazing Caesar dressing like Fogo does). Everything was really good, really fresh... and there was a giant bowl of really good bacon like I hoped. Other items include sushi, asparagus, really good cheese, smoked salmon, bread, and about 84870489134 other items. There's another small section next to the salad bar that has soup and scalloped potatoes which I forgot about until I was way too stuffed to try any.
The sides I thought were also better than Fogo. The cheese bread is virtually the same, and delicious, and way too easy to fill up on. The garlic mashed potatoes were definitely way better, as were the fried bananas.
My only minor complaints with the meat are 1. some were way too salty, and I like salty food so I imagine if you're sensitive to salt, you're gonna have an issue. Thank god they're quick with keeping your drinks full. 2. Everything was really rare, more so than I expected, even when I asked for a medium piece. Even so, most cuts were still pretty awesome. I liked all the cuts of beef the best. I didn't try the pork or lamb (not really a fan) and the chicken wrapped in bacon was just way too salty.
We split the Brazilian cheesecake (regular cheesecake with a layer of fudge plus caramel and pecans) which was AMAZING. -

After visiting a number of other Brazilian steakhouses in the area, we finally made our way out to Texas de Brazil. Perhaps it is because of TdB's location and the locations of our other preferred steakhouses but we were surprised to see such a crowd for a 4PM Sunday service. Within 30-45 minutes of arriving, the restaurant was wall-to-wall packed. The crowds, especially the amount of children, made navigating the salad and side dish bar rather treacherous. Kudos to them for the lobster bisque, sauteed mushrooms and other items I haven't seen at their competitors.
As for the meat, it's what you would expect although our table near the kitchen exit meant we got the first cut of a lot of meats and their overly-salty crusts. Also some of the supposedly "medium rare" meats were ice cold raw in the middle - especially the flank steak. Service was overbearing at first (we were both forced to stand and wait as a server refolded our napkins before we could sit back down - we told her not to bother after awhile). As the meal progressed, service by both the meat servers and the regular servers became non-existent. We tried multiple times to get our check and it took about half an hour to do so.
The only thing that would probably get me to return would be another Groupon deal. Otherwise, I'm sticking to Chima and Fogo. -

Food is awesome! Eat salad though before you the meat! Just trust me.
Meat is delicious, amazing, GRAND, heaven!
Service: wait staff very professional and efficient.
Hostesses/Reservation people: SUCK! my boyfriend made a reservation for our one year anniversary at 3pm for 8pm. We get there.. UNhonored, no table ready. Just because you wear an all black Macy's business suit and work in a place where your price range is $100, doesn't make you God. -

This place was great. The server was really friendly, the food was yummy (especially the salad bar), and the dessert was top notch. I didn't have any problems with the meat being under cooked and I thought it was seasoned properly. The salad bar is probably my favorite place because it had Heart of Palm. Yum! It's pretty expensive, and I don't think you get your money's worth unless you are a 250 lb. man. Definitely come with an appetite and a thick wallet. Beer and wine selection is good, but I'd take a half a star off because the waitress forgot our bottle of wine after we ordered it.

** 3.75 stars ** lol
It's 5:45 on a Friday night and this place is packed! The dining room was bigger than I expected for being in the mall, but the first thing I noticed was how dim and dark it was. We could barely read the drink menu. Luckily, our waiter told me the drink special was the Caiprinha, my favorite. Good and strong! Also served when we sat down were small cheese bread popovers. Mmm mmm good!
The "50-item salad bar" has a better selection than Chima. Lots of cheeses (goat cheese, grana padano, manchego, mozzarella balls), olives, tabouleh, paella-like orzo salad, salami and proscuitto, thick peppered bacon, asparagus, gorgeous tomato slices, green beans, and an assortment of dressings.
The hot bar included lobster bisque, which was good & flavorful yet missing lobster chunks (expected, though), potatoes au gratin, sauteed mushrooms, black beans, and rice. Along with our dinner, they provide garlic mashed potatoes (skins left on) and fried bananas. I can't complain about any of them.
Onto the meats... they were all good. Nothing more special than other churrascurrias. The big standout was how salty the meats were. Although flavorful, the meat was just too salty... and I like salt! Pretty sure they make it salty so diners are left parched and ready to stop eating. Then again, I was stuffed after 2 plates. Sickingly full. No room for dessert, obviously. Our waiter was attentive and all of the gauchos/buspeople were on top of things. If you want a certain dish, just ask... it is literally brought to you within seconds!
I'll definitely return, but probably only using a Buy 1, Get 1 Complimentary meal (as we did tonight - anniversary coupon). Can't beat $63.00 for two alcoholic beverages and two all-u-can-eat meals! -

I used to live in Fairfax and am a big fan of the Brazilian steak house. I've been to one decent Brazillian steak house like this in the area but it wasn't very popular or good for that matter. Texas de Brazil, which is twice the price but waaaay better. I have been to this location twice in 2 years. Once 2 years ago and the other just a couple of weeks ago. Both times the experience was really great.
Service: I had really great service this last time I went. 2 years ago I'm sure it was good but maybe not as great as this time around but I just don't recall. The waitress was attentive and super sweet to everyone at our table. She would come ask if there were any meats we wanted other than what was coming out and if we wanted any cooked to order. I thought that was above and beyond but I guess that's what they do, I'm diggin it! Every time we left the table our napkins were folded upon our return, water was filled promptly : ) So, all in all, great service.
Price/ Bang for your buck: Ok, so we have learned to strategically plan out outtings at this place. If you are smart, you can go online and sign up for a coupon that gives you something like 25% off of the entire table's meals. That's a good deal. With 4 people at about 50 bucks a pop we got one dinner free. You have to know how to work the system people! I probably wouldn't go there without a coupon for birthday or promotion coupon. Why would you when you can get a discount and have the same exact experience? I believe it's worth the money for a big dinner every so often, like a fun night out that you know you will eat a ton and just fork up the cash for some yummy meat and fun atmosphere.
Food: Love the salad bar! I could eat my 50 bucks worth on that salad bar alone. Fried mozzarella-yum, olives-yum, smoked salmon-double yum, there were so many delights on that thing I can't even remember what I got. I finally stopped myself so I could try the actual food haha. Down the hots line were rice, beans (pass), mushrooms (fabulous), and au gratin potatoes (dreaming about them). You also get a giant bowl of garlic mash at your table. Oh by the way I could eat the little cheese biscuits all day long. The meats were mighty good too. I must say the filet came out once perfect and the other time rare. Not a fan of rare. New York strip was good, flank steak surprisingly very good. Chicken good but I stick to the red meats. All very hot and tender, not too salty, on my plate even if my card was flipped red haha. YUUUUUMMM!
Will I go back again: Waiting to buy another plane ticket and my first stop will be this place...with my coupon : ) -

Relative to Fogo this place is a VERY distant 2nd place. Great salad bar - possibly better than fogo, but let's face it - we're here for the meat. And the meat was generally too salty, even for a churrascaria. Meat quality was decent, but again noticably worse than fogo. For the price difference (its a little cheaper than fogo), I highly recommend you just go to Fogo de Chao.

Same gig, different Brazilian Steakhouse. Unfortunately this one is not up to par compared to the other two I've been to. Maybe it's a mall-restaurant thing?
Great staff, a plethora of meat, a salad bar on steroids because they have all sorts of options, with a soup and sides section. I wish our waitress or someone came around more often to clear the table of extra plates. Number one complaint I heard from everyone is that it was too salty. Now, if you love sodium like I do, you may not taste the supposed saltiness in their food. You can't go wrong with their desserts...well maybe you can, but you can't go wrong with the carrot cake or chocolate cake! -

This place had great food and decent service. It was a bit on the pricey side but I think it is worth it. The reason it did not get 5 stars is the pecan pie was pretty bad in fact, enough to single handedly knock off a star.
