This used to be my favorite BBQ joint in MoCity. However, I don't think they smoke their meat here. It tastes like it's just baked in the oven. There's no real atmosphere in the restaurant, but it's good for takeout. The sides and sauce are pretty good.
Once Brookside opened up down the street, I lost interest in this place.
It looks like a clean, small, suburb joint, but the barbecue tastes down home and delicious. I'm a big fan of their sides, in particular, the yams and baked beans. They've got decent meats, of which my favorite is the brisket.
The only downside is the "C" rating in front of the store.
Having moved from a location where Pappas was on every corner to Missouri City - BBQ was hard to find. Kept passing this place. The brisket is cooked well, sauce is sweet and warm. Served 2 sides (sliced beef, ribs, chick or sausage plates) includes baked beans, really good seasoned fries, potato salad, yams, etc. Deserts at $1.5 each include peach cobbler that I know the owner made - just from the tin tray it was service out of, chocolate, lemon and i forget what other desert was there. Basically 2 peeps had the plate special and desert for $20. i took mine to go because I like to roll up my sleeve when i eat BBQ - my next visit will include the rib plate. waiting for the right combo of NCAA march madness to put my in the mood for ribs!!!
