I made a reservation online based on yelp reviews.
Terrific Tours requested that I call them when we arrived into town safely.
After I called to confirm the reservation. The entire experience that came after was effortless and relaxing.
Jerry the tour guide picked us up in a van on time. We were the last of four couples to be picked up at our hotel.
The van was roomy, clean and comfortable. It had cold A/C. That day got pretty warm. Jerry kept the climate comfortable throughout the entire wine tour. He made sure to start the van a few minutes before we got in. Jerry had intimate knowledge of the wineries.
Jerry seem to be friends with a few of the owners, and respected. He told us he would have us drinking by 11:00 am and he did.
We went to four wineries, and I will have reviews on those later.
Info: the entire tour took about 5 hours from pickup to drop-off including a break for lunch. Each tasting was around an ounce of wine,
most places started from white to red, and dessert wine at the end.

Nothing, but 5 Stars for Trevor and Terrific Tours.
A large group of us Austinites, after finishing the Vineman Half Ironman race on a very hot Sunday, decided to relax and unwind the next day with a Wine Tour (what we termed Wineman) in the Russian River/Healdsburg Area with Terrific Tours.
Trevor picked us up in the Terrific Tours Van, he was very knowledgeable about wine making, the regions, and fielded all of our questions. He always had interesting little tidbits and stories to add while on the drive and at the wineries. To top it off, he knew all of the winery owners we got to visit and was able to get us private tours and great discounts on wines and champagnes. He's a laid back, cool guy..and what's more we forewarned him that we would be packing on the appetites for the included "picnic lunch" and he definitely delivered.
The picnic spread was unbelievable. Among other great things, it was cheese HEAVEN. The food made us so happy we were doing cartwheels in the grass. No really, we were doing cartwheels! Ok maybe the wine had something to do with it.
Let's just say that after lunch our group's tummies were filled with delight and we managed to relax on the grassy knolls at Martin Ray. It was definitely the perfect, relaxed wine tour. Filled with great wineries, great company, great food, and a great tour guide. If you don't want to do all the leg work and have a relaxed tour, Terrific Tours is the way to go.
Vineman was fun and all, but Wineman the day after was SO much better. Hats off to Trevor and crew for a perfect day!

One star for lack of response. We never actually got to use the company.
Three or four weeks ago, I called Terrific Tours and two other highly rated wine tour companies. We're having a destination wedding and wanted to provide our guests with a five hour wine tour.
I spoke with Trevor that day, gave him all the details, and he said he would email me that day or the next with a quote. I waited.. and waited... Never heard back. I called a few days later, and the woman who answered said Trevor was at lunch and to call back. I said I was just trying to get a quote, so could she help me? She said to wait for Trevor. I called back an hour later, Trevor was still not there.
So, yesterday I was almost ready to book with another company and remembered that I had never heard a quote from Terrific. I called in and Trevor answered. I told him all the details again, and he said he would call me back "in five minutes" to give me a quote. More than 24 hours later, I still have never heard back from him. I have booked with the other company and I'm very happy with them.
Trevor... buddy... You really need to call people back, especially when they are people who are calling so that they can pay your company money in exchange for services.

During a long weekend in the Bay Area, we were planning to attack the Sonoma area on our own. But the week prior, a friend recommended Terrific Tours. Booking with them was a wonderful decision that made the day wodnerful.
We were picked up at our hotels, as were 2 other couples going on the tour that day. During the ride to the first winery, we talked about what types of wines we each preferred, and based on those preferences, Trevor, our guide, determined which wineries we would see. We loved that he took our preferences into account, and even helped us to figure out what those preferences might be, considering none of the six were especially experienced wine drinkers.
We visited several wineries of different sizes, including a very 'mom & pop' establishment that was only available because of our guide's personal relationships - this turned out to be the best wine we tasted all day (although each winery was above-average) and really showed the value of having a guide.
On a personal note, our guide, and co-owner of the company - Trevor is the type of person that you want on your wine tour. Informative, but not a wine snob. Friendly, but not overbearing, he gave us the space that we needed, but was always there to answer any questions we had. Both his knowledge about wine and the industry as well as his connections in the area were evident, and made for a great tour.

The wine-tasting tour we took with TERRIFIC TOURS exceeded our expectations! My boyfriend and I have recently started really appreciating wine but are far from being connoisseurs. Trevor answered every single question that was thrown at him and was very knowledgable.
If you are thinking of touring the wineries on your own, DON'T! Terrific Tours takes you behind the scenes and personalizes the experience so you get the most bang for your buck. The price per person includes ALL tasting fees and a gourmet lunch that you enjoy outside with a spectacular view of the vineyards.
Thank you Terrific Tours for the unforgettable experience!

I have been on a tour with both Trevor and Gennifer, they are both fantastic! They really know how to make you enjoy the day, lots of wine knowledge, and just all around great people! I would recommend them to anyone who asks!
We took the group tour in a van and it was a ton of fun! Our driver, Jerry, was awesome... knowledgeable, friendly, and catered to our needs well. Our trip took us to 4 wineries and we tasted at least 20 different wines. Our group was 7 people total (we didn't know the other 5 people) and everyone turned out very nice. I recommend this tour if you want to see some places you've never thought to go to - the boutique wineries were surprisingly good finds and places we wouldn't have visited if we didn't take the tour.
My girlfriend and I moved to San Francisco just over a year ago, and for one reason or another, we never had the chance to make it up to wine country. So when the time came to plan our 5th year anniversary, we decided that a weekend in Napa or Sonoma would be the perfect way to celebrate.
Unfortunately, being 23 and having very few sophisticated friends who had spent enough time in wine country to guide us to the better wineries, we decided to opt for a guided tour. This, of course, had the added benefit of meaning I wouldn't have to worry about driving post guzzling.
After a sort internet search, we learned that Napa was (sadly) out of our price range. So we decided to head to Sonoma, and convinced ourselves it would be better anyway because it was less touristy.
So we found a great little bead and breakfast to stay at in Sebastapol and started checking out wine tours. Terrific Tours caught our eye right away because in addition to taking us to several wineries, it would also include a picnic lunch and a "behind the scenes" tour at one of the wineries. So we made a reservation and thought we were done with it.
But No! We got an e-mail back telling us where to meet - it was a 10 mile drive from where we were staying! I immediately called Terrific Tours and told them that we needed to be picked up at the B&B. The lovely voice on the other end (her name was Gennifer) could not have been more understanding. "I will absolutely come and get you!" She said.
And it only got better from there. Not only did Gennifer drive completely out of her way to provide door to door service, but she was extremely knowledgeable of all the wines we tasted and wineries we visited. All of the wineries were superb, and well chosen to represent real diversity from the tiny little guy who only makes a few thousand cases a year (Amista - they were actually our favorite) to the giant Casino winery. The behind the scenes tour ended up being at Simi winery and was extremely informative. The lunch was delicious. I highly recommend this tour to anyone else looking for a guided Sonoma tour - I for one know I will be back.

Trevor was awesome! It was the best wine tour that I've been a part of. Not snobby, not pretentious...cool people that know their wine. Everyone we met was really nice because they knew our guide.
Do it.
Trevor, Trevor, Trevor is what all these reviews say. Never met the dude but he seems cool. I did talk with him once on the phone when he confirmed my reservation. However, I met Gennifer for a tour of Wine Country with my Mom in January of 2009.
Gennifer is an awesome, courteous and a knowledgeable guide of Wine Country! She listens to your interests and adapts as she teaches you to understand your tasting a pallet.
Gennifer really makes you feel at home and appreciates the life and spirit of the area. This is not a snotty wine tour but an uplifting experience discussing the great qualities of the land, lifestyle and area experience.
My mom thought it felt like she was touring around Italy. Ask Gennifer for food references and she will point you in the right direction as well. If you are a first timer, I suggest the "Dirt of Sonoma." as I found the vibe to be the coolest of the area and Gennifer to just be an awesome guide and person.
Oh yeah and the lunch was really good and really makes for a quality experience.

After some friends had an unpleasant self guided wine tour debacle in Napa, we decided to look around for a small, intimate tour with a chill guide who knows what they are doing. We got exactly what we wanted with Terrific Tours, our down to earth guide and two other wine tasters spread out in the 10 passenger van and we embarked on a "go with the flow" style day of wine touring and tasting.
They will take you around to all of the hidden gems of Sonoma, small wineries that have wines that make you stand back and say "Wow" as Trevor says.
In our full day we went to 6 wineries and the Korbel winery/champagnery. All offered free tasting, except one which charge 5, or 10 and whatever you taste you get a discount off of a bottle.
We are such novices that honestly we probably would not have been able to appreciate these places as much as a more veteren wine drinker, but these were really great spots!
The lunch was perfect, locally grown stuff, homemade dishes and locally made cheese. It was light and filling, perfect for more wine drinking in the afternoon.
Ask lots of questions, because they probably know the answer!

Trevor's fantastic! He really made a trip up to the Sonoma valley a wonderful experience for our 1-year anniversary. I'd really recommend one of the tasting tours as the best (and safest) ways to go when headed up to wine country.
Drink all the wine you want (limited by time of course)? Pick up and drop off from the hotel? YES PLEASE! Trevor's more than happy enough to make adjustments to the tour based on personal preferences. A big foodie? Mayo. A dessert wine fanatic? Kaz winery. He has good connections with the wineries down the Sonoma highway and a majority of the stops will be free tastings unless it's something really fancy (like the 7 course food + wine pairing at Mayo).
The little luncheon picnic he setup for us was great too! Cheese, grapes, olives and a fantastic pasta salad was all set for us after our 4th stop, with most the items picked up from the Sonoma Cheese Factory. YUM! YUM!
The best wine touring experience I've had. Our guide Trevor was extremely knowledgeable about wine. Better yet he knew everyone at the different wineries and was able to get us huge discounts. Oh and he's a cool guy too. We had a great time and I doubt any other tour company could have topped the experience. If you're in wine country definitely hit these guys up.

I was fortunate enough to get connected with Trevor at Terrific Tours while searching for affordable transportation for wine tasting in the Dry Creek/ Healdsburg area for 12 people. Trevor was considerate of wineries we had in mind and did research to determine that some were closed on New Years Eve which likely saved a lot of driving. He suggested top notch places that treated us like kings and queens. He was full of knowledge and gave us tips and tricks for tasting and had plenty of great stories to share. He was well liked in the whole community which was a huge bonus and we were able to get discounts. He also provided perfect wine country food that we enjoyed outdoors at a gorgeous winery overlooking the valley. All in all, Trevor is the man.

Terrific tours made me look like a rock star.
Picture it....Bachlorette Party for TEN WOMEN and wine tasting was the activity the bride wanted. Talk about pressure!
Problems with planning wine tasting for 10 women.
-Transportation
-Deciding which wineries to visit...we had novice to 'experts' in our group
-Making sure people who want to learn about wine are able to
I emailed Terrific Tours and they took care of everything!
Trevor picked us up at our rental house at 10:30 am.
-Transportation for 10- DONE. We were picked up in a 14 passenger van (we had a choice of a limo if we wanted but I didn't want people to get car sick).
-Winery choices- DONE. The choices were made for us and they were wonderful.
We went to four great wineries. Each one was very different but all had great wines, fantastic service and stunning views. We received special treatment because we were with Trevor. Trevor spent time with us teaching us about the area, the wines we were drinking, how to taste wine, etc.
But when the girls started chatting, he knew when to chill out and stop talking about wine. As soon as someone had a question he was there to answer it for us.
We all came home with a bunch of wine, new knowledge and a great experience. If you are looking for a great tour and tour guide I HIGHLY recommend Terrific Tours.
Like I said...they made me look like a rock star. All the girls loved the tour and it was thanks to Trevor and Terrifc Tours. Thank you!
Trevor is the best!! He had a list of suggested wineries but was completely flexible and said he would take us wherever we wanted to go. We mostly went off his list and were glad that we did.
The trip was with 8 women ranging in age from 27 to 77 and he was so nice to all of us. At the last two wineries, my 77-year old Mom was tired and he sat with her and chatted.
We all had a really great day and would HIGHLY recommend Trevor and Terrific Tours to anyone going to Sonoma or Napa!!
My wife and I had a fantastic time on our tour today with Trevor and Jake. Both were knowledgeable, unpretentious, relaxed, and professional. We toured four different wineries, had a nice picnic lunch (provided) and finished with "dessert" at Sonoma Valley Portworks (delicious - ask to have it included in your tour!).
Throughout the tour, they were very flexible, continuously gauging our level of knowledge, interest, and intoxication and tailoring our experience appropriately. I'm a bit of a beer snob and a homebrewer, and I appreciated that they were able to answer my more technical questions and relate familiar steps in the brewing process to wine making. When we were all a bit more tired and pleasantly buzzed, he was happy to lay off the teaching and just let us enjoy the scenery (or a nap, in some cases).
While the wineries we visited do provide free tastings for any guest coming through their doors, the tour provided the combination of education, transportation, insider treatment, good food, and good company that made it a great value.
Cheers to Terrific Tours, we'll be sure to tour again on our next visit to Sonoma!
