I dare you to try to find better carnitas in the SJ area. Every time I go to Tequilla's i feel like i've stepped into Mexico. The food there is AMAZING!! Like I said before, I come here for the carnitas, and it is perfect every time. Also, their chips are homemade, and wonderful, and they have a salsa bar with about 6 different kinds, which is wonderful for me, because I love salsa and can never get enough while eating Mexican food.
My suggestion is to order a super burrito, chips and salsa, and a nice Jarrito or Corona. Enjoy REAL mexican food at Tequilla's.
I use to go to the tanning salon next door and the gal who works there was munching on beef soft tacos from Tequilas Taqueria and it looked delicious.
I walked over and gave it a try and was not disappointed at all. I had 2 beef soft tacos and the beef was thinly sliced and very flavorful.
Heard the enchiladas was good too, I'd have to come back and give it a try.
Do yourself a favour and don't try to call in an order. It's way more hassle than it's worth.

I was lured here by proximity and my outrageous burrito craving. I walked here from my friend's… Read more »
Decent burritos at a decent price, and really quick service. The best thing is that they sell different decals in their candy machines of the BVM (Blessed Virgin Mary) ... Guadalupe, Lourdes ... if it's good enough for the BVM to have stickers dispensed there, it's good enough for me!

Good, well-prepared burritos and soft tacos. Right next to Lee's Laundromat. Start your clothes wash, run next door to Tequila's, order your lunch, and kill some time watching MTV Espanol on their TV. God help me, I could sit and watch MTV videos all day - in any language. Thanks to small blessings like Tequila's, life is good on Saturdays when forced to do the laundry.

Yeah, it's not the best taqueria I've been to but my boyfriend and I go there 3 out of 7 nights a week (well, almost) so it's not all that bad. It's too conveniently close to our house, and we are just too conveniently lazy to cook. The chips and salsa are pretty good, and I always get two soft carne asada tacos con queso. I wouldn't recommend asking for their water- it usually tastes plastic-y. Overall though, the food hits the spot, the price is just right, & the service is speedy and super nice.

I swung by here on the way from the office to the office and was happily surprised by the friendly staff, nice variety of salsas, and the big fat burrito.
The chicken burrito was above average, the chips were crunchy and thick. And they serve beer. I'll be back....

I'm a regular at this decidedly hole-in-the-wall taqueria, and for good reason: it is the best within a mile radius of my house, so far as I can tell. Free, ample chips and salsa; warm, satisfying burritos; friendly staff, and not a punk and/or college student in sight makes this a winner in my book!
Update: Gotta knock off a star -- they have just acquired a new, massive, jukebox which blares music loud enough to make conversation difficult in the far corner of the room. No client plays anything, only the cooks -- or, it will play a selection seemingly at random every now and then.

Man I was doing SO good working out and eating right in my new place but then BAM.... bad day at work hapened I didn't have dance to burn my energy and agressions out so like I girl I took it out on a big FAT veggie burrito! OMG It was phenomenal..not at all greasy as La Vics which was a nice change. It had the same "authentic" taqueria taste, was MASSIVE and, was made fresh and fast! Best part is they are super close from my place and you can call in your order for an even speedier expirience! Deducted a little star for price a lil more expensive than la vics and the decorum is nothing to enticee you to eat there-but still definately worth it!
Solid hole in the wall taqueria. All the staples you would expect from a taqueria, Al Pastor tacos, huge nachos, and stick to the ribs burritos. Fast friendly service.

What this place lacks in flare and flavor it makes up for in close proximity to my house. Maybe it's Sunday evening and I'm too lazy to cook or drive. What am I gonna do? Shuffle down to Tequila's for a super al-pastor burrito or a carnitas torta, that's what. The food and salsa isn't mind/mouth blowing, but it's highly eible. Friendly staff, good prices, cool painted murals on the walls.
Ample parking.
