Romance Romance Romance....not that you have to be on a date to go here, but just the entirety of this whole experience is romantic, straight out of a movie. It's definitely an experience and not just dinner.
So beware of weather, it took us three attempts before we were finally able to reach this place. But when we did it was worth it. You order your main entree ahead of time when you make the reservation, and the other three courses are pre-determined for you. You meet at the Nordic Center and have the choice to snowshoe, hike, or cross country ski to the yurt for dinner. We snow-shoed, and it was a quiet and snowy and beautiful hike to dinner. Took about 45 minutes but we took our time, taking pics along the way.
The yurt is cozy, wood burning stove, candlelight. There's only one seating of I'd say roughly 30 people a night. We started with a bottle of champagne as other parties trickled in. (you have to be there by a certain time for dinner, but can start the trek at any time)
We had an assortment of appetizers, a delish soup, elk and lamb as the entrees that were both excellent, and a cheesecake dessert. The dinner was nicely paced and romantic, and we warmed by the fire in between courses. The moon was so bright on our walk back, we didn't need our headlamps.
Very cool atmosphere and special experience. It's not cheap, but perfect for a special occasion.
ps: you can take a snowmobile there if you can't make the hike. A guy with a broken leg made it up ok when we were there. I believe they also are open for lunch too.

Drive 20-30 minutes from I-70 to Tennessee Pass, grab a coffee at the Nordic Center, then hike a mile or so to a small Yurt style restaurant. My brother and I surprised our parents for their birthday, it was one of my favorite dinners of all time with the family. Make sure to bring a camera to take pix before dinner...incredible views. I also recommend a down jacket, hat, and gloves....the walk after dinner is crisp and enjoyable if you have the right gear on.
