Temecula Olive Oil Company
10 reviews for Temecula Olive Oil Company
I was skeptical...taking shots of olive oil? As in...oil? Lol.
To my surprise, it was not as strange as expected and I walked out with the citrus olive oil, pomegrante vinegar (sooo awesome mixed together) and a tasty baguette.
The staff were so welcoming, helpful, and friendly. There's a location in San Diego as well!
This place is so much fun. We stopped here after two days of wine tasting. Olive oil tasting was so much more fun that wine tasting. The people that work at Temecula Olive Oil Company are so friendly and attentive. We each tried about 10 different types of olive oil. The tasting process is sophisticated and they'll set up your olive oil flight so that stronger oils come at the end and do not interfere with your ability to sample the other olive oils. They also have a good selection of vinegar- and I love balsamic vinegar.
I left with one bottle of roasted garlic olive oil and one bottle of vanilla & fig balsamic vinegar.
This place was AWESOME!!! Such a great environment and such friendly service...and DELICIOUS OLIVE OIL!!
The tastings are free (don't expect bread)...it's not needed.
They have tons of flavors of olive oil, dipping oil and balsamics.
You can't walk away without buying some!
We bought 3!!! :) :)
We can't wait to use them up so we can go back and buy more! :)
I didn't know anything about olive oil before coming here, besides the fact that it tastes good. We walked in, and they immediately offered us a free tasting. The tasting itself is set up like a wine tasting, and you taste the milder, more subdued olive oils before the ones with stronger flavors. They pour tiny amounts into little cups, and you sip. And they explain all about how they make olive oil. My favorites were the Just Dip It dipping oil, and then a combination of their Fresh Basil olive oil mixed with Californai Pomegranate balsamic vingar. So good! We ended up buying the Just Dip It and the Fresh Basil olive oil.
I absolutely love this place! I am a club member and get the shipments every few months. I love their olive oils. They have a wide selection in flavors,a few of my favorites include garlic, basil and rosemary. My husband's favorite is the picante pepper. We can never get enough of this place. I think its kind of pricey, but you are paying for quality! I am so glad they opened a shop down in San Diego!!!!
Very professional, very knowledgeable and FREE Olive Oil tastings!!
I know what you thinking ewwww tasting oil's but like OMG, the flavor explosions from the different types of oils are amazing! It's just like wine tasting in the sense that you have to start with a certain oil and work your way to the top! They don't serve bread to taste with the oils (it basically takes away from the greatness of the oil) you get served a bit in a plastic shot cup and drink it so you get the full flavor of the oil. My favorite's include the Garlic Olive oil and then Citrus Olive oil.
Oh and the Just Dip it, you have to take some of this good stuff home and before you leave also ask for a loaf of an unbaked baguette. Pop it in the oven when you get home for 5min @ 425 dip it in the Just Dip it and Whoa you wont be disappointed!!
The roasted garlic infused olive oil is heaven sent! It's nice to have an olive oil company close to home and especially next to Casa de Reyes where you can fill up on margaritas after taking shots of olive oil.
The best olive oil I've yet to taste. My favorites are the garlic and habenero. Excellent spices, herbs, and cookbook selections. This is a must stop in old town. Locally grown and truly an incredible experience. Buy local and support your local farmers!
I thought by "olive oil tasting" they meant dipping pieces of bread in various types of olive oil. Not quite. You actually drink little shots of olive oil, straight. It's kind of weird, especially if you, like me, do it on an empty stomach (not recommended). A straight shot of plain olive oil, even really good olive oil, and this was definitely really good, is kind of gross, though the flavored ones taste okay by themselves. We walked away with some roasted garlic infused olive oil, vanilla fig balsamic vinegar (sounds weird but it's amazingly good) and a jar of olives stuffed with parmesan and romano cheese. Yum! I don't know if I'd do a tasting again, but I'd definitely buy their olive oil (and other products) again.
If you're in Old Town Temecula, stop in here for FREE olive oil tasting. It's an experience, and definitely something to try at least once. Most olive oil tasting places give you small pieces of bread to dip in the olive oil. Not this place. They give you small cups and you sip the olive oil so that you get the full taste of the oil w/out bread or other things to change the flavor. The staff here are knowledgeable, and explain the types of olives, where they are grown, etc. It was quite an interesting experience. I especially liked the blood orange infused olive oil, which was quite fragrant! In addition to tasting about five olive oils, you also get to taste several vinegars.
