The geography of this resort is mind-boggling.  Fortunately I have family in Telluride, so I don't have to worry about where to stay.  One of the best parts of skiing is being in the mountains Telluride is amongst part of the most breath-taking Valleys there is.  This place is not easy to get to, but there are many celebrities who have figured out a way - Oprah, Tomkat, the Kingsford coal guy...

The most spectacular resort you will likely come across in the states!  Stunning... the 360 views of the Colorado Rockies, including Mt. Wilson (the Coors mtn), aspens, and big blue sky... Widespread... both in terrain (1,700 acres) and ability (from greens to hike-to double blacks)... Exceptional... the people and activities on the mountain are world-class, with three terrain parks, ski-to bars where we'd sit in the wooden lodge on cold days & drink spiked cocoa or on lawn chairs on sunny spring days drinking Coronas, mid-mountain concerts (the first place I saw G-Love), and plenty of "local" runs that you can't find on the park map.  I actually have one called Tata's Forest, which was a tree run that always had plenty of powder.  Aahh... the days of being a T-ride local were some of the best days of my life.   And it was all about the mountain!  I mean, the whole town would beam when it snowed!  Everyone would get up early and wait in the lift line to get fresh tracks!  And the apre-ski... wow!  After a great day on the mountain, you needed a drink, or maybe two.  That mountain is definitely one that can change your life, because it brings you to the little box canyon known as Telluride and all the gems it holds.
