Oh Teeny Cake, how you tease me with your tiny-ness and your delicately swirled, creamy frosting! With flavors such as vanilla olive oil sea salt (yeah, I know, "ew. gross. puke." try one, you'll never eat another flavor..), a seasonal pumpkin, and an excellent red velvet, you can't go wrong.
I get them from the Marin civic center's farmers market and I always get more than three (so that I can get a carrying box, of course!), so make sure to look out for her there. She's right in the middle of all this delicious bread being sold on that side of the market! The service has been really great, though it looks like she can get quite busy.
These teeny cakes are so good, I feel like I must don a british accent when eating them. -

All I have to say is yummy! I am a cupcake snob and love love these cupcakes. They are reasonably priced and Michelle the owner is the sweetest lady. Every sunday my mom and i head to the Marin Civic Center farmers market. I can never leave with out my teeny cakes. I love them so much that I had them at my wedding. It was so easy to order them and they where delivered right to the spot I was getting married. Not only did everyone rave about them but Michelle made us a little take away box. If you haven't tried them please do.

The BEST Red Velvet cakes in Marin!!
I LOVE Red Velvet Cake! I break our gluten free rule for it. I've tried EVERY cupcake place in Marin and Teeny cake absolutely has all the other places beat hands down!!
I honestly can't say anything about their other cakes, as I only do the red velvet cake. I'd have to imagine that those are all equally good as well, though. I figure if you can make a great red velvet (a really good recipe for one can be super hard to find & make) then you're likely to be good at making all the other types as well.
YUM!! Get the RED VELVET CAKE!!!! -

Whilst browsing the farmer's market in San Rafael last night, we passed the Teeny Cakes booth. I looked at the hubby and said, "well, I have to buy cupcakes for Christina's birthday tomorrow night - let's try this place!" I ordered a mixed box of a dozen - for $10!!!!!! (can you believe that - seriously!!!) We got chocolate, vanilla, the last red velvet, espresso, and lemon. The people that run the booth were also SUPER nice!!
Got home after a couple glasses at Sabor, and decided, "well, it's quality control - we better try one so that way we know we will be serving good cupcakes!" UMMMMMMM 4 cupcakes LATER, (which were supposed to be for the party!!) we decided that these were absolutely delightful. They are almost as good as Love at First Bite in Berkeley - and thats pretty freaking good. This could be a dangerous booth for me at the farmers market!! -

Although small in stature, cupcakes from Teeny Cake packs a punch. After I bought some from the Marin Civic Center's farmer's market, I could not wait to look in the box, see the little cakes lined up in a neat row, and dive into one (or two, or three... hey, they are small!). I especailly love the vanilla with vanilla beans incorporated into the batter and the mint chip. Teeny Cake's cupcakes are definitely a satisfying treat!

Wow! I'm totally impressed!
When I heard about a cupcake I haven't tried in the area, I set my sights on finding Teeny Cake at the farmer's market. It took a bit of coordinating, but I finally found myself standing in front of their stand contemplating which flavors to buy.
I ended up with 4 different flavors, 3 mini and 1 regular sized cupcake packaged up and taken home to gobble up in the privacy of my own home. I'm pleased to say that all the flavors I tried were great and the cake/frosting were consistent across cupcake flavor and size. The cake is light and fluffy but is dense enough to not feel too fragile. The frosting is delicious and not overpoweringly sweet. I also liked that their toppings/decorations matched the texture of the cupcake so there wasn't random hard bits to hurt your teeth on.
What's also pretty awesome is that the cupcakes held up pretty well for traveling in the heat and sitting around until consumption. The blueberry cupcake I got became a little runny as the sugar melted a bit, but altogether it held up well and was super delicious.
I'm a huge fan, especially because they sell mini cupcakes! I love the option of being able to try more flavors and buying more. The cake pops and such are an awesome addition too.
I can only give 4 stars because I would like to be able to have access to a static store instead of having to track them down at various farmer's markets around the North Bay.
Get your own store already!!!! You are loved Teeny Cake!Listed in: Eating in the North Bay!, My personal favorites.

I have just experienced cupcake nirvana, in the form of a Teeny Cake strawberry cupcake. I'm a little bit over the whole cupcake thing, if I'm being honest, but while strolling at the Petaluma Farmer's Market a friend and I spotted the beautiful Teeny Cakes display and decided to give one a try. I selected the white cake with chunks of fresh strawberry, topped with a strawberry buttercream. OMG. Ridiculous. Delicious. Suddenly, I'm in love with cupcakes again.
The cake was moist and very flavorful, The little chunks of fresh, ripe strawberry really made the cupcake exceptional. The buttercream frosting was perfectly sweet. There was just the right amount of frosting. All together, it was absolutely one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. This is maybe the best $3 you'll ever spend. Go get a Teeny Cake! -

If I became a dynamic red-headed super-hero....(or heroine)
I'd make sure that my super-hero outfit consisted of overalls (or some sort of overall dress), boots, a little bit of rainbow bling, magical big hoop earrings....
and if I had a super-hero weakness - I'm thinking cupcakes could be it.
I cannot resist cupcakes. Like ever.
I become putty in their moist mini caked, frosted - presence. It's hard for me to fathom sometimes - how a simple cake can be so delicious, so adorable, and so dangerous.
Anyways if J-Thom was a superhero - Teeny Cake would have to be kept far - far...far away from me.
After trying one of their miniature vanilla cupcakes at the San Rafael Farmers Market last Thursday, I knew it was over for me...
because I could have easily popped 6 other miniature cupcakes just like that vanilla one - in my mouth. In a matter of seconds. Maybe even three at once.
You see... the frosting was divine. Buttercream always delivers. The cake was moist (though could have been even more moist) and had a strong vanilla flavor as well, and the people helping me were almost as sweet as the cupcake.
Sibby's still remains my all time favorite cupcake spot - but Teeny Cake is well worth trying.
I'm pining for their strawberry flavor now... -

Cupcakes! Teeny Cake is the reason I had to check out the new Stonestown Farmers Market. I spotted 6 types of adorable mini cupcakes ($1 each), cupcake pops ($1.50), regular size cupcakes, cupcake sandwiches ($2.50) and teacakes. Cupcake sandwiches have buttercream filling. Cupcake pops are pieces of cake dipped in chocolate.
Cupcake flavors:
* Vanilla cake w/ vanilla buttercream: the cake had flecks of vanilla beans (I was impressed). The texture was firm, dense and moist. The cake was a bit too dense but had good flavor. The frosting wasn't too soft or too hard but was too sweet.
* Chocolate cake w/ chocolate buttercream
* Berry nice to meet you
* The "O" (cookies n' cream): the cake was also firm and dense, it looked like chocolate chip cake but it was hard to taste the chocolate in the cake (which comes from the crushed Newman O's), the frosting was the vanilla buttercream with crushed O's - it tasted similar to the vanilla cupcake only with crushed Newman O's. It would be nice to have some crunchier chocolate cookie bits (just a few) for texture.
* Toffee crunch
* Southern tradition (red velvet).
* Vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream:
I also tried a cupcake pop: chocolate cake with malted milk ball frosting. The cake was very moist and rich, almost like a brownie and it was surrounded by a thick layer of chocolate, almost like a truffle only with cake inside - good but it was hard to discern the malted milk flavor
They take special orders and you can find them at the Novato, San Rafael and Stonestown Farmers Markets.Listed in: Cupcakeries in the Bay Area

I tried two additional flavors at the Stonestown Farmers Market on Sunday morning, and I think I've found a favorite Teeny Cake flavor.
It's Mint To Be (http://static2.px.yelp...) - The chocolate cake was super moist and the soft green mint frosting was cool and minty. This is now my favorite.
Berry Nice to Meet You (http://static1.px.yelp...) - They use organic strawberries from Rodriguez Ranch for this selection, but despite bits of berry visible in the dense vanilla cake I thought this selection lacked strawberry flavor. The frosting was extremely sweet.Listed in: Bakery Fresh, Street Food Frenzy

Michelle and her partner in crime are quite the fantastic duo. Even when I don't really want a cupcake (seriously, sometimes I'm just not in the mood), they still persuade to say yes to one of their teeny, cute and tasty cupcakes! And maybe they're not even trying that hard to sway me, maybe their cupcakes are just that good where I can't say no to one! I think that's the actual truth behind the matter!
I've had a few of the cupcakes so far: the red velvet, the chocolate mint, and the strawberry-vanilla... I also got one of their red velvet cupcake-lollipops for my friends' little girl who was amazed by it: a lollipop that you can just bite into! Amazing! Because of that, I now have a new best friend who always requests a cupcake-lollipop!
Prices are reasonable ($1 for a teeny cupcake!) and the service is excellent. I would suggest this place over most all of the cupcake spots in the city. Moist cake, real frosting that doesn't just taste like sugar, and unique home-made products. All in all, this place is great. I'm really happy I stumbled on it while wandering through the Stonestown farmers market.
P.S. Sometimes they'll have an over-stock of goodies where you can get 2 for 1 deals on anything you see. Be out on the lookout for those days!Listed in: Sweet Treats, There once was a time...

I've had them a couple of times at work, and they are delicious. The frosting is tasty, and the decor is not overdone. The teeny tiny ones are perfect for a small child's birthday party (we certainly don't want them climbing the walls high on sugar!!).
But I just found out they are now w/in walking distance at the San Rafael farmers market on Thursday, and that cannot be good for my waistline!Comment from Michelle L. of Teeny Cake 6/16/2009

Call me a stalker, but I like to get my Teeny Cake fix! The perfect size for my cupcake fix. The cupcakes are moist, not too sweet and so full of flavor. My son loves the cake pops! We look forward to going to the farmer's market, for our fix. I love all the flavors and I always have a hard time deciding on which flavor. The red velvet cupcakes are one of the best I've tasted out there...

You can't really go wrong with $1 mini cupcakes, right? Unlike a lot of bakery items, I actually don't find that overpriced, and I liked that they offered a number of flavors at the Stonestown Farmer's Market. The chocolate stout with caramel topping sounded interesting, but I stuck with traditional favorites red velvet and strawberry.
Well, I actually found that the problem with mini cupcakes is that I think it's actually hard to get the baking right. These cupcakes were too dense and maybe slightly overcooked (not at all burned or anything) - but they really weren't moist or even a tiny bit spongy. The texture was almost that of a poundcake, which is fine, but not really what I want in a cupcake.
The strawberry did taste really strawberry-y, though, which was great. Red velvet was pretty nondescript, although I personally didn't like the chocolate shavings they put on top. But what I really didn't like (and I should point out that I am totally not picky about these type of things, am fine to eat food that's fallen on the floor FAR AFTER any 5 second rule has expired, etc) was opening my cute little takeout box to see that one of the cupcakes had a (short, straight) hair on it :(
Which obviously didn't stop me from eating the cupcakes. But still.Comment from Michelle L. of Teeny Cake 5/3/2010

Michelle did a FABULOUS job on my wedding cupcakes! From the table setup to the cupcake taste, everything was perfect!
We chose to serve mini & regular size cupcakes in 4 flavors - southern tradition, toffee crunch (with flourless chocolate cake), berry nice to meet you & sweet tart. Fortunately, we got to try each flavor before the wedding because by the time we made it back to the cupcake table there were only 5 cupcakes left!! Obviously, the cupcakes were a HUGE hit!
Michelle's professionalism, attention to detail & communication skills made her so easy to work with. I'd recommend her to anyone wanting to buy 1 to a million cupcakes!!! Thank you so much Michelle & Teeny Cake!! -

My favorite cupcakes come from this lady. I love going to the Stonestown Farmers market every Sunday. I usually just get one, but I could really eat a whole bunch. For valentine's day my husband bought me a box of 6....I could have eaten them all by myself, but I was force to share one with my daughter :0(
My favorite ones are vanilla, and strawberry (which taste like real strawberry) They all taste very fresh, and they're very soft so they sort of melt in yor mouth. The lady that sells them is very nice.
If you want to have option of flavors I suggest you go early. I'm not a morning person so by the time I arrive (usually around noon) she only has a few cupcakes left.Comment from Michelle L. of Teeny Cake 5/18/2010

I love cupcakes and bake a lot myself. I'm always on the hunt for tasty cupcakes and there are a few bakeries in the city that i've grown to love and thought i'd miss.
Having just moved to the area from the city, I was happy to learn there were a few cupcake stores around. Having previously tasted cupcakes from another baker at the farmers market last sunday, I have to say in comparison, teeny cakes cupcakes are better. It's light and moist and the frosting is yummy! The presentation is also appealing to the eye. I would rate the cupcakes amongst karas and sprinkles cupcakes although sprinkles still tops my list. -

Sunday mornings make me so SO happy...
That's because I get to eat the Teeny Cakes at the Stonestown Farmers Market! I usually get the $1 each mini cupcakes so I don't feel as bad... plus I can try different flavors. I pretty much get them every Sunday. And they probably remember me by now. But it's ok because they are SO YUMMY! I love how their frosting is light in texture and not too sweet... and the sponge is oh so soft. Mmmm mmm mmm. I try to save them for later in the week but that never works. I'm all out and craving for them by Sunday after. You must try them! -

When I decided not to go the flower or fruit arrangements route to surprise and brighten up the day of my best friend and her family who were having a rough day, I could have never expected to have found such a great alternative.
I called, explained what I wanted and when I wanted it delivered. Not only was Michelle genuinely sweet and kind, but the delivery was a total success. The teeny cupcakes brought smiles to the entire house and I couldn't hear enough about the outstanding service and delicious goodies found inside those little boxes.
Needless to say, the next time I want to send a sweet hello, I will definitely think of Teeny Cake again!!!
Thank you Michelle!!! For providing outstanding service, a prompt delivery, and for making my friends smile on their gloomy day. I cannot wait to get to the farmer's market to meet you and try these little heaven dropped wonders myself. :-) -

These cupcakes are fantastic. I love how the flavors change and there is always a couple that are a little more interesting than what you normally see. The lemon with candied jalapeno on top rocked and the Red Hot one was so good. What is a bummer, is the standard has now been set way higher. Before I had a Teeny Cake, I thought all cupcakes were good. A few days after I had some, a friend brought some over that she had picked up from Whole Foods. We ended up throwing most of them out. Now I know how a good a cupcake can be. I refuse to waste calorie intake on dry flavorless boring cupcakes. Plus, by Teeny Cakes being at farmers markets, I can get my cupcakes under the guise of being healthy and shopping for my fruits and veggies. If I HAPPEN to by a cupcake, it's really about supporting a local growing business...not because I have no self control around cake...

I've experienced teeny cakes twice now - once at a wedding rehearsal dinner and then a second time I ordered them for my company party that I hosted. Michelle is awesome at communicating! Once I placed the order, she was quick to respond to my emails and any follow-up questions I had. The turn around was 3 working days, so I was amazed that an order of 6 dozen teeny cakes were done so quickly and beautifully.
Oh yes - and the cupcakes are AWESOME! She has red velvet!!!! So soft and moist - no other cupcakes compare!

I discovered Teeny Cakes at their tent at the Thursday night San Rafael farmers market. I couldn't RESIST trying a "Southern Tradition" Red Velvet tiny teeny cake for $1. What a buy! So cute and SO yummy. The icing is EXACTLY how red velvet icing should be.. thick and made with cream cheese!!
A couple of weeks later I again got the red velvet, along with vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Loved them ALL but the strawberry stuck out because the icing actually tasted like STRAWBERRY. Not the fake, ultra-sweet, imitation stuff, but it actually tasted like fresh, real strawberries. YUMMM
The owner is a doll, very sweet and great to talk to.
I am ordering a dozen regular size Red Velvet for my birthday this month and while I'll probably gain way too much weight.. it will totally be worth it.. and thankfully I will have my hubby to share them with! SWEET!! -

Yeah yeah yeah, good cupcakes. No argument. What people don't know is they do a Teeny Cake. Ok, so it's not that teeny. To be honest, we compare things too often to tasteless bland sheet cakes purchased at the 3 ring circus I lovingly know as Safeway. In reality, this cake was plenty for several people. And the taste...ladies, 3 words: O P Rah! It is amazing. If you are willing to splurge it is definitely worth it.

I have this problem where I crave foods like a pregnant lady - or a girl who just has an insatiable sweet tooth. So one of my favorite things on my list of "crave-able foods until you salivate and can't stand it anymore" are red velvet cupcakes.
Teeny cakes do just the trick.
They're exactly what good cupcakes are - soft, moist, and TASTY.
So far they don't have a storefront, but you can order them online and have them delivered pronto. Got an event? A craving? Or just feel like stuffing your face with cupcakes?

Through drools of mouths I heard about Teeny Cake. Friends of mine that didn't really even like sweets were fans. Completely intrigued I enlisted Teeny Cake to do mini cupcakes at a large Golf Tournament and also cupcakes for my workplace where Teeny Cake would be tested by the truest of true Cake Conneisseurs...my coworkers.
In both challenges Teeny Cake emerged champion. The Oreo Cookie cupcakes created an embarrassing amount of eyes rolling back into the head while the Southern Comfort (otherwise known as the traditional red velvet cake) produced a lot of squealing...a whole whole lot.
The Sweet Tart, our sweetest of sweet lemon cupcakes, like a good boyfriend or girlfriend was not just pleasing to the eye.
And the owner of Teeny Cake is just as sweet as the confections she produces. She is really good at working with you on your order so that you can cater it to your event.
Can't wait till Teeny Cake opens a storefront!!! -

Manic Mundaze. Taco Tuesday. Humpday. Thirsty Thursday. TGIF.
As of late, my favorite day has been Cupcake Sunday! (Formerly known as Brunch Sundays, but there's a new king in town!) Sunday mornings, I mosey my sleepy self over to the Stonestown Farmer's Market & look forward to running into Michelle & her beautifully garnished display of all things cupcakes: minis ($1), regular sized ($3), & cupcake lollipops.
Here's what I've sampled so far in miniature sized (in no particular order, although the strawberry was my favorite):
* strawberry- real bits of strawberry. So fluffy & flavorful. My second favorite strawberry cupcake. You all know I love TTTC on Union St, but Teeny Cake is giving them a run for their money.
* vanilla- aside from the cake being a little more dense than I like, this was a perfect vanilla cupcake. Some vanilla tastes bland, but there is a real vanilla bean flavor in this one.
- lemon- the yellow sprinkles gave the smooth buttercream frosting some well needed texture. Wonderful lemony fresh flavor; not artificial at all. But, again, the vanilla cake is a little dense, while still being moist.
* cookies & cream- Real chocolate chips running through the creamy frosting.
* red velvet- a very good red velvet. (Michelle used a light cream cheese frosting. I'm getting the regular size next time!)
* toffee- I like toffee anything, so even though this had a chocolate cake (which I never particularly care for), the combo worked so well together.
Teeny Cake-- I'll CUNS! (translation: C U Next Sunday!) Thank goodness the Farmer's Market isn't on a Tuesday or Thursday or we would've been in a whole heap o' trouble here!Listed in: Cupcakery

I really, really wanted cupcakes for my wedding, but the biggest challenge was my fiance. He's not a cupcake person, something about the frosting to cake ratio. We went to a caterer tasting and she recommended Teeny Cake. We decided to give it a shot, and chose about 12 flavors to try. Well, the cupcakes passed the test -- my fiance loved them!!! He said they were moist, and the cake to frosting ratio was perfect! It was a tough decision, but we narrowed it down to 4 flavors for our wedding. The owner, Michelle, is very responsive via email, and she is totally affordable. I can't wait until all my guests get to taste these delish cupcakes!
**UPDATE** The cupcakes at our wedding were perfect! Michelle made a small princess cake for us to cut. It was delicious. One of our guests tried the princess cake and said it was one of the best princess cakes she's had. Everyone raved about the chocolate mint and cookies and cream. My only regret is that I didn't take the leftover cupcakes to my room after the wedding. I guess it's an excuse to go see her at one of the farmer's markets. :-) -

So..... I have never written a review on YELP but Michelle at Teeny Cake deserves it. I encountered her mini cakes at the Marin Farmers Market one day when I was looking for a small gift for a client in the area. They were so cute, I had to get 1/2 doz. My clients LOVED these little tasty treats. Since then, the team at Teeny Cakes has provided many of our clients sinful bliss with the mini cakes, cupcake pops and the over the top regular size cupcakes. My favs by far are the red velvet and the german chocolate. I mean, who can go wrong with that oh so amazing frosting on the german chocolate cupcake! I would recommend Teeny Cakes to everyone!!

Got mini-cupcakes for my son's birthday party this weekend - they were delicious, delivered in perfect condition, and easy to transport. They were great for both kids and adults. We highly recommend the vanilla-olive oil-sea salt (a June market flavor); and I hear that the toffee crunch was also delicious (didn't get to try that one myself). Yummy!

Today was the first time that I've ever tried or even heard of Teeny Cake. I stumbled upon them at the Stonestown farmer's market. I couldn't help but stop due to my love of cupcakes and because of how cute the set up was. I was instantly greeted by 2 really nice & friendly people. I opted to get one of each of the tiny ones (6 total) just so I could try every flavor. I also happened to notice the extremely cute cake lollipops and just bought one because it was so darn cute. I must say that everything was fabulous especially the lollipop and I'm kicking myself for only buying one! Everything was so moist and the frosting was just right...not overpowering or too sugary. I liked everything so much that I actually went back around 1:30 for a second round but I was too late. The farmers market was over and they were gone. Oh well, there is always next week!

A dropped by yesterday with a surprise for me & my family from the Stonestown Farmer's Market. Six mini cupcakes from Teeny Cake! I believe there were vanilla, strawberry, cookies & cream, toffee, and 2 red velvets. The cake was all very moist and the flavors were good. Frosting was a little sweet on some of them though. I like sweet, but not too sweet. The mini sizes are just right too. You get just enough cupcake.

The wife and I are very lucky to live near the Stonestown Mall area simply because every sunday they have a farmer's market in the parking lot behind Macys. We found this charming place with the very affable and nice owner, Michelle Lane. My wife, who has a major sweet tooth, but is afraid of the calorie, took one look at the "tiny" cupcakes and was instantly sold. All the flavors, but only a fraction of the calories? Deal! The best we both decided was the red velvet cupcake, with the strawberry cake and big "O" cupcake coming in second and thid, respectively. The cake itself is very flavorful, and moist, but the selling point in my opinion is the awesome frosting that Michelle uses. they are like, only the most delicious thing on a cake I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and hurry to Stonestown Mall on Sundays to check out this place. Oh yeah, and go shopping at the mall too so our economy can get better.
The cupcakes here are so good I'd reckon even that skeleton Victoria beckham would dare a bite. -

Solid 4.5 stars.
BFF C told me about Teeny Cake after stumbling upon the stand at Stonestown's Farmers Market (if you haven't visited this fairly new FM yet, I highly recommend it. I couldn't even pull myself out of bed this past Sunday until 11am, but when I arrived at the FM a half hour later, there were still plenty of goodies to sift through). As soon as I arrived, I made a beeline for the stand (there are other cupcake stands, but trust me, these are this FM's best by far). The people manning the stand (I'm assuming the baker herself + her friend/husband?) were more than friendly, and I ended up scooping up two cupcake sandwiches ($2.50 each. Think frosting smothered between the bottom half of a cupcake, then half dipped in chocolate and sprinkles), three regular cupcakes ($3 each. My choices? German Chocolate, Red Velvet, and Toffee Crunch. There was also a Nutella, but I was attempting to not go overboard on my first visit here, people. Oh, heck, who am I kidding? I was out of cash and had to be strategic with how much money I could swindle out of the BF. Hey, there were other stands around I still wanted to check out!!), and one teeny (mini) Strawberry ($1 each - regular size was sold out).
I didn't get a chance to eat the cupcakes until last night (one day later), and was thoroughly impressed with how well the cupcakes retained their moistness! My favorite is easily the German Chocolate. Yum.
Although my heart still belongs to Moonbabycakes, I'll definitely return to the Stonestown Farmers Market, particularly for Teeny Cake (oh, and for the Indian stand that served fresh naan, naan wraps, and a condiment station boasting at least five or six various curries).
P.S. If you're planning on checking out Stonestown's FM this Sunday, 9/6, beware that Teeny Cake will NOT be there, but, I'm assuming, will return the week after. -

I was excited when my friend told me about the new Stonestown Farmer's Market on Sundays. I was even more excited when she told me about Teeny Cake who had a booth there. Miniature cupcakes sounded like a perfectly portion controlled sweet treat. A way to indulge but not overdo it. I picked up 3 on my first trip there. A red velvet, a chocolate and a strawberry. Unfortunately, I was too busy that day to eat them right away and they sat in my car all day. Luckily they were still delicious when I finally had one that night. I definitely plan to make a stop there every time i go to the Farmer's Market : )
