Ted has saved the day... while getting ready for work yesterday, my local news station (Kansas City) showed a spot about buying US made toys and featured Ted's store in OH. The Spooner board was one of the items they showed and my husband (a child at heart) perked up at the item. As I was in the middle of getting myself and my 2 toddlers out the door, I didn't have a chance to write it down and thought I would remember it to check it out once I got to work. Baby brain strikes and I can't remember anything when I go to check except that it was Ted's Toy Store. I checked the site and no info about that specific item but a bunch of other cool stuff.. so my last option was to shoot off an email. I thought I might hear something within a week or so since I know that many stores don't really check their emails - heck, any of the big box stores don't have really anyone that are interested in responding back. Imagine my surprise this morning when I had an email from TED himself... directing me to the company website (http://www.spoonerboar...). Christmas is saved and my husband will probably break something but I will still have an awesome gift for the "biggest kid" in my family. Thanks again Ted... I will definitely stop by when I'm in Cincinnatti!.

While I was out and about on Monday, I came across Ted's Toy Store where I thought I'd look around for something for the upcoming birthday of my younger cousins. Ted's spent 10 years in Terrace Park, but the toy store has been in its new Madeira location on Miami Avenue since March 2007. The store wasn't very big, but it seemed like there were just endless amounts of toys. They offer so many great options for toys, although their specialty is train sets.

Ted's Toy Store, once known as Ted's Toys and Trains, has a lot of really neat train sets in the back of the store, including all of the latest products from the Märklin Trains, the "world leader in model railroading." Ted's also had a very large collection of Klutz products (books, toys, games, etc.), as well as traditional and new board games, dolls, and some toys best meant for playing outside in your driveway or yard.

I've kind of been out of the loop of the toy business on account of not being 10 years old, but I was really impressed with all that Ted's had to offer. They really had a great assortment of fun toys and games, many of which I'd never seen anything like, and lots that were educational. The woman who helped me navigate through the store was extremely nice and very helpful too.

Rather than browsing through the super-sized Toys "R" Us, it's worth the trip to Ted's Toy Store near the Madeira Kroger. If you want something more expensive like a train set they'll have it, but they also have many tiny items at low prices if you don't want to spend much, or simply want to throw in several items for one great gift.
