This is eating with a conscious--if you buy into their marketing scheme. Ted's claims to be 99% plastic free, eco-friendly, and uses free range/organic meat (from Ted's ranch?). I'm not doubting any of this, but I wonder if the rest of the restaurant has as much earth friendly creed as what's on the menu? Well, at least they try!
Reading on their website, they're trying to work with local energy suppliers on setting up solar panels, reducing water/energy output and trying out wind generators. How cool is that for a restaurant? AND they have a commitment to using bio-degradable to go containers (such a pet peeve of mine are places that still use styrafoam! I mean really, it's so much worse than plastic, and think about how bad plastic is!).
Oh wait, this is a restaurant right? Yes, and the food is fantastic. A bit on the pricier side, but it's free range and organic. I think it's worth it for better tasting, better for you and better for the animal food. And the portions are plenty, so you might need that bio-degradable box to go. -

My husband and I went in for his birthday. He had the kc strip and said it was the best steak he'd had in a long time. I had the New Mexico grilled chicken sandwich. It was moist and the toppings were good. The chicken itself was underseasoned, but not terrible. The white sangria was better than you usually get at a restaurant.
For a Friday night, the place was almost empty. The hostess was rude, but the waiter was decent (though a little slow). The price was fair. Overall, we will probably go back. -

There are 3 Ted's locations in the KC Metro- but this is the only one I've been to. It is a restaurant chain owned by Ted Turner, and I believe that the meat they use is from his Montana ranch. They also sell buffalo burgers, which my boyfriend got when we ate here. It was pretty good, it had a sweeter taste, but it did taste a lot like meat. They say that buffalo meat is healthier than beef, but with these portions, I'd doubt it!
The first time I came here, our waitress was really nice and eager to please. She checked on us multiple times and made sure we knew any specials or dishes that she thought we might like. It was during a weekday during Spring Break, so it was a little busy, but not much.
The second time I came, it was also during a lunch, and I was by myself. I didn't get acknowledged by a server for a very long time, and she was a little rude and short with me. The bartender was really nice though, and was basically my server since I guess the other was too busy.
I don't know if I would go again; I really like Ted Turner and how Ted's is eco-friendly, but the food wasn't spectacular enough for me to have a craving for it. -

Teds is awesome for a buffalo burger. The meat is moist and juicy and they have some different combinations for their burgers/sandwiches that you wont find elsewhere. My husband had a cup of Teds bison chili and said it was great. My caesar salad was ok, not outstanding but it was ok. I love the privacy of the tall booths. (no little kids popping up and down and grabbing hair and throwing food down your back) This location doesnt ever seem to be busy so you can pretty much always get in.
