I never stayed at the resort portion of Tecopa Springs, but I did stop by the Tecopa Hot Springs Resort to use the Tecopa Hot Springs - with the Green Tortoise - on our journey back to San Francisco.

Sitting in hot natural mineral water   - naked - with amazing inspiring women - feeling the cold open air - graze our faces - was an unparalleled experience. There was something so beautiful about shedding inhibitions, insecurities, and just being. Humbling oneself, as the natural minerals of the water nourish your body - as you talk with women - about their stories and bottles of wisdom. It's empowering.

Hot Springs are a unique way to nurture the body and soul. It also has an excellent ability to naturally foster community. At this particular Hot Springs there is no pretension. The facilities are basic. And outside of some simple signs  - advising you about showering beforehand, etc - you're pretty much left to explore the simple facilities by yourself.

We came during the day - and staring up at blue skies  - while soaking was bliss. But if you're able to - it would be worth basking in these springs at night - so you can gaze up at the dazzling stars, the cold air around you, while the hot water cradles you.

Come here with at towel (or you'll have to buy one at the store across the street).   Come here ready to relax. Come here with an open heart.

    Trust.

After a few days of camping in the desert, the shower alone was worth the price of admission. The pools themselves weren't that great. The water was nice, but I'd have preferred hotter hot water, and more natural light like in the cold pool. (I can only speak for the men's half.) If you're in a group, save money on admission by reserving a campsite--the resort is included for free.

During my most recent trip to Death Valley, I had the opportunity to stay at Tecopa Hot Springs Resort. I was so pleased with every aspect of my stay, it prompted me to open a Yelp account.

While their website is modest, checking room availability and making reservations is easy and effective. Based on the description, price and private access to a hot spring, I opted to stay in Room 11.

Checking in was pleasant and the staff was very welcoming. Being that it was midweek, I was notified that I would be I sharing the facilities with just one other guest.

Aside from the description, price and generic room image, I didn't know what to expect and honestly, I didn't expect much.

Upon entry, it was obvious that the room was recently remodeled, things smelled clean (not in an artificial way) -the room was absolutely immaculate.

The two queen beds had clean linens and comfortable pillows. The bed (closest to the door) was a too soft, so I slept on the other (slightly more firm) bed.

A clean bathroom is mandatory, theirs was spotless. The raised shower, reminded me of a Japanese soaking tub.

Decorations were sparse, which is fine by me. The room contained one painting by an assumed local artist. FYI: Tecopa Hot Springs operates a small gallery, within their registration office, featuring local artists.

I was stoked to find a (clean) hotel sized fridge in the room.

During my excitement, what I thought was a closet, was in fact a door, offering direct access to a (private) hot spring fed tub. The 104F (fiberglass) tub was clean with a large skylight overhead.

Another door (within the room) led to a secure corridor that granted access to 2 other rooms with tubs and other hotel rooms.

In addition, Tecopa Hot Springs Resort hosts a variety of community functions and also has a restaurant onsite: Pastel's Bistro, which was unfortunately closed during my visit.

It's more than apparent that a great deal of energy work and love goes into their facility, I will definitely return to Tecopa Hot Springs Resort.

More of a mini motel compound than a resort, but a magical oasis I will return to any time I'm any where near Vegas.

We stayed the night at the hotel the night before heading into Death Valley, and the waters are amazing in the mineral spring.  The room was cozy and clean. Ok beds, but really it was all about the water...

I was so seduced by the small cozy pool that I missed a fantastic meal at the bistro (family came back later raving). Sadly, Pastel's was closed for breakfast AND lunch on Thurs, so I missed my chance, but ended up having a fab time at c'est si bon instead. Check my rev...

    Cheers!

Tecopa Hot Springs was such a nice little treat for my wife and I after a long day of driving and hiking the desert. I've been in hot springs before in a more natural setting out in Hysperia, this is the first time in a "bath house" where the water is pumped in. We loved it here! While it was difficult for me to spend more than 10 minutes at a time in the 104 degree water, constantly getting out into the cool air and then getting back into the warm spring left me feeling great. We both recommend getting a jar of the Mojave Mud (bentonite clay powder) to take in with you ;)

Highly recommended!  Great, friendly staff welcome you to the small relaxing hamlet of Tecopa.  The cabins are reasonably priced (around $75) and include hot springs soaking.  I have to say I don't care for the baths here as much as Delight's, because they are smaller, totally enclosed, and not as hot... but they're still pretty good.  And the service and cabins here are so much better, it's just really a better place to stay.  Also, it is right next to Pastels Bistro so you can easily walk over there for a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner.  There is an art gallery too!

This place is amazing, and perfect for some R & R after climbing at Red Rock Canyon. $10 gets you a spa visit in the hot spring, $15 gets a camp site. This place is worth the 2 hour drive from Vegas.

...love this place, but dont bring kids! not much for them to do out here...David (I think that's his name) the manager on site is a most charming and helpful fella...our accomodations were a bit pricey, $75 to stay in a trailer (?) but I enjoyed the unlimited use of the bath house...we were there during one heck of a cold snap and the bath house was a life-saver...I'd stay again, but not too happy about the price for the meager accomodations...think I'd rather tent it next time.
